Mass Changing a Version Name

Is there a way to select a group of photos and mass change the Version Name? For instance, I have multiple pictures of Germany that currently have a version name of IMG_XXX.JPG - I'd like to change all these to just Germany.

This advise works if you didn't give the photos a version name during importing . I gave about 160 photos the wrong version name due to my failure to check. when i imported, it listed my previuos version name from other photos. now i try a batch change but it only adds the new version name to the one i don't want ,I've tried replace instead of append with no luck. any advise to delete existing version name and add a new version name. wayne

  • Mass changing of folder names in CRM under tcode COMMPR01

    Hi Experts,
    Good day!
I would like to ask help regarding mass changing of folder names in CRM in tcode 'COMMPR01' under documents tab. I tried to change the folder name of one material but it only updates the folder name for that specific material and not for the whole CRM box. Is there a way for me to do a mass change of name for the folders in CRM? Can this be done in customizing(SPRO)?
    Thank you,

    Hi Christian,
Welcome you post on the forum.
However, here is not for question of your CRM module. It is the forum for SAP Business One E-Commerce and Web CRM. If you are not using B1, close your thread.

  • Mass Change Active Version in MD62

    Hi All,
Currently we manually update the active version in MD62 on a on monthly basis for a number of materials.  This is very time consuming, as we need to uncheck the old one and check the new one, then save.  What is the best solution to mass update an active version in MD62 for multiple materials?  Can an LSMW or BDC be used for this?  Any tips?
    Thanks!

    An alternative for your evaluation:
Write a Z program using BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_GETDETAIL to obtain the details of the requirements (or you may use the tables highlighted in the previous posting) then use BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CHANGE to modify the requirements.
You can download the details into an excel from the Z prog., do the modification & upload back the same file. I have used this approach, so maybe helpful for you as well.

  • Batch Change Version name to use Caption - for MobileMe Gallery

Hi, is there a way to batch change the version name files (which is what MobileMe can use to display under the picture) to use the Caption? The Caption is what I believe is/can be used in the regular galleries/web pages exported from Aperture, MobileMe seems to work a bit differently...
    Thanks for thoughts.

    Jonas,
I don't believe that can be done with any procedure supplied with Aperture. Settings for a MobileMe Album only provides the choice of Filename or no filename. Whether there is a hack somewhere to switch Filename and Caption, en masse', I do not know.

  • Changing version name in Aperture?

anyone know how, if possible, to change the version name after a botched import?
Also I'm wondering if it is ok to post technical questions here since I never received any replies to my last (Oct) tech question
    Thanks

And just remember changing the VERSION name does not automatically change the FILE name on your hard drive. File names can only be changed upon moving files in or out of the Aperture library. So, I always initially import every shoot into Aperture's Library and keep the files as MANAGED. During this import I make no changes to the file name. I then delete the bad images, rearrange any images if desired, then do a batch operation to change the version names (Metadata>Batch Change). Then I RELOCATE MASTERS (File>Relocate Masters) to move the files out of the Aperture Library to their final home on another drive. During this relocation process two things happen:
    1. The actual file names are changed from the ones given by the camera to the version names I gave them in Aperture.
    2. The files turn from being Managed to Referenced.
The result is that the file names on my hard drive match the version names in Aperture.
One of my hopes for Aperture 2.0 is to be able to rename actual file names from within Aperture, without having to do it by moving the files.

  • Any way to stop facebook exporter from using version names as the caption

I tried the Aperture 3 facebook export and it is using the version names as the caption. If I change the caption on facebook it then changes the version name in my aperture library when it syncs with facebook. Is there anyway to have it use the caption meta data field instead? You would think if they had that option for mobile me they would have it for FB too.

Add me to the list of people interested by this issue - but AFAIK there is no way to change this. Let's hope Apple fixes this soon.

  • Set version name from IPTC Title field?

I'm no AppleScript genius but I am sure there shouldn't be a whole lot of lines of code needed for me to grab a selection of images and change their version name to whatever the IPTC title field is.
basically right now the version names are messed up due to tampering but the IPTC metadata is fine, so i want the metadata to prevail over whatever aperture has as name & keywords.
Anyone got an idea of how to do this simply and quickly? I know I have a batch file renaming utility but I don't think that will help me in this case as aperture doesn't 'care' about file name does it?
This is on Aperture 3.5 (latest version)

Lightroom stores metadata in its own database, located:
    [Username]/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Database.lrdb (Mac OS) file.
    [Username]/My Documents/My Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom Database.lrdb (Windows) file.
This is different to CS5/Bridge where XMP sidecars contain the metadata for proprietary raw files and in others (DNG, Tiff, jpeg, PSD) it's contained in the XMP headroom within the image file.

  • Batch rename of version name to fix a typo?

When I import images, a have Aperture give them a version name that is composed of the date, the master file name and a custom part. (I know this is a bit redundant, but hang on for now).
E.g. a version name would be "20101022-hopsack-DSC_1234". Note: no extension!
Now suppose that fter importing I notice that I've got the custom name wrong; instead of "hopsack" it should've been "debrem".
So I do a Batch change on those images, selecting the same version name format as in import, and type in the proper custom name, and voila, fixed, right? Wrong! The version name now contains the file extension, like so:
    Rename -> "20101022-debrem-DSC_1234.NEF".
This is not what I wanted. Even worse, when you export this image with the current version name as file name, you'll get "20101022-debrem-DSC_1234.NEF.jpg". Looks rather stupid.
Why does the [master file name] building block have different behaviors in Import and batch rename? Am I missing something?
You could fix the version name with the Metadata inspector, but then you'd have to do it image by image.... OK for a few images, but not very practical for many.
So, apart from making no mistakes during import, are there other ways to fix this?
Oh, about that silly version name... I wanted to change the version names into something more sensible, but you can't batch rename images and re-use the custom name they have to make a new version name. So that would become a tedious process as well. Suggestion on how to handle this are welcome as well. (I could filter the images on custom name 1, batch rename with that name, then filter on custom name 2... and so on. Slightly less cumbersome.)
    Hints? Tips? Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Peter.

Sounds like the coder who implemented the code for this in file import didn't consult the corder doing it in the Batch change section
Seriously, this isn't right, it should be one way or the other, ideally there should be two separate options, one with just the filename part and another with the extension, Then you could put them together any way you like.
I'd send feedback to Apple concerning this.
As for the situation you're in now, can't think of any easy way to make the change you want to.
    Sorry

  • Workplan Version Name

Anyone have a way to turn off the workplan version naming convention that Oracle Projects uses each time you publish a new workplan.....the system generates it something like this unless you manually change the name:
Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy: Copy:version 3

From the front end there is no way to change this behavior. I think you can have a custom solution for this. May be a trigger to check the pa_budget_versions table, whenever a new record is inserted, just try to change the version name.
    Hope this helps!

  • Organizer File Name Mass Change - Manual Rearrange Capability?

I used to use Bridge 6 to mass change file names. I could drag files into desired rearranged locations and then rename the batch in any order I wanted. Elements Organizer does not seem to have that capability. Am I missing a simple trick or did this program go backwards in capability? I bought Photoshop Element 12 ONLY for the Organizer!!!!

I'll be short. The Organizer is not for you. Or you are not for the organizer. It's a pity you did not use the trial version to check this before buying the software.
Now for some of your practical questions:
    meteorman69 wrote:
I do prefer to rename my files and move them to folders of my choice such as Family Photos 2013, Family Photos 2014, Work Photos, Comic Book Related Images etc... I don't manipulate the images themselves, just filenames.
Nothing wrong with that, but that's possible in the organizer, even if it's best done with a browser like Bridge.
I can't stand generic filenames given by cameras or applications so I give them meaningful names like a date sequence and location like 20140504ZooVisit001 or some such name.
Did you consider using captions instead ? They are much more flexible, readable and searchable in a database system.
If I have 50 sequentially, generically named photos in a folder and I have opened the folder with Organizer (Bridge) and I want to re arrange let's say Image1, image 2, image 3, image 4, etc... to change the sequence of photos or groups of photos to image3, image 4, image2, image 1.
In Bridge I could drag photos about within Bridge to my desired sequence THEN I could highlight the group and rename them sequentially with a totally new name for permanent file storage. It's really a simple desire.
In the organizer, you can select the photos in a subfolder, or from any kind of complex multicriteria request, and group them in an 'album'. It's just like a 'playlist'. You can order them manually. You can select them and assign a common starting name with an order number suffix. Very basic.
You asked about 'compatibility'. With the above features, the organizer can move, rename, delete files or folders. It can 'write metadata to files', which is not only to keep the keywords, ratings, captions, notes in its database, but also to write them in the files themselves, so that Bridge, or explorer or finder can read them. It can hold many other information like stacks, albums or version sets. But Bridge and the explorer/finder are not compatible to receive such advanced information.

  • Is It  POSSIBLE to change the Technical Name of Z-version Query

    Hi  Friends ,
I was changed all quereis and cube from standard version to Z version.
For queries, by using rszc , i was changed to Zversion,Now again is it
possible to change the Technical Name of Zversion Query ?
If possible , can you please tell me the process ?

    Hi Hameed,
This may be the reason you are getting an error.
The target InfoCube, the InfoCube for the query copies, must contain all the InfoObjects of the source InfoCube (InfoCube of the original queries).
The another reasons may be the copying of queries within the same cube shouldn't be done by RSZC.
It's better to approach the Bex Query designer.
    Hope you understood..

    Dear All :
i want to do mass changes in fk02 - payment transaction tab - bank data tab - bank name field
table name is BNKA , field name is BANKA
Please suggest t code for same
    vijay

As far as i know the Bank name field is non editable and it flows from Bank key which means the name is bank key specific...so you have to change the bank name of the Bank key...for this i think LSMW or BAPI needs to be created for the Bank key change transaction code FI02.

  • BI 4.1 Version Management - Change copy of version name

    Dear Experts
I wondered if there is a possibility to change the "get copy of version" name of a Web Intelligence report.
When there is the need of changing a report I make the changes and I click on "Checkin" to ensure that the latest version of the cms is under version control. Now often the newest report is not the report currently used by the customer because the newest version has not been tested yet for example.
Therefore it is necessary sometimes to promote an old version of this specific report. I then click on history and choose the desired revision number and finally click on "Get copy of version". This action provides a report out of version control which can then be promoted accross the systems. The problem now is that the filename ends with a string containing something like "<reportname>(Copy of Version 2 @ 2014/06/11 11:41:24)".
Is it possible to change this string which is beeing automatically added to the filename? For example to "<reportname>_<revisionnumber>". Or even better: Are there any other ideas to handle the version management in interaction with promotion management?
    Thank you
    Lars

At this time you cannot change the name automatically. You can suggest an idea in idea place.
