Mass Create PO release strategy

Hi gurus,
We are undergoing a major re-org. Due to the changes, we are taking the opportunities to delete the current strategies and re-create everything from scratch as part of the strategies clean up too.
But in doing this, we find ourselves facing a tremendious task as we have 1000+ buyers and each buyers, we need approx. 6 strategies to be created. Thus sizing is almost 14 weeks as OMGS do not allow parallel processing.
We attempt BDC recroding by it's not working. We go errors that pre-requisite not set even though our BDC program did go  into that screen. Have any guru here tried or know any feasible mass uploading method to mass create release strategy in the system?
Thanks.

Hi all,
thanks for your respond.
I have found out with the help of my developers that this can be done.
In fact, the original problem that that after we post the release code and go into the set pre-requisite screen, once we come back to the main screen, the recorder put back the release code again and thus SAP detect this a s a new entry and require you to setup the pre-requisite again.
To resolve the above, just make sure in the coding, when you come back from the pre-requisite screen, the coding to set the release code in the screen is not there any more. The 1st entry of the release code (before going into pre-requisite screen or another other screen) will be sufficient in this BDC program.
This speed up RS setup alot. I can upload 494 release strategies in 82 sec. Normal human hand will only be able to post 1 in approx. 5min per strategy (Excluding classification).
Hope you guys find this useful

  • Mass po reset release strategy

i   want to know transaction or program or function module name or any other ways for performing
" mass po reset release strategy "  ,  please   help

    Hi Veeru,
You can release the PO's all at once. Please sit with your technical consultant and ask him/her to write the code which takes the inputs of the Release Codes and the indicator Released and pass this information (PO number, Release Code, Release Indicator etc what ever is required) in the BAPI_PO_RELEASE. Some coding needs to be done to do this.
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating Roles for Purchase Req. release strategy with classification

    Hi friends,
Since I have created Purchase req rel strategy where I have four release strategy
    1. For Plant 1 When value <= 5000 (Officer) will release , release code 01 release release strategy r1 and rel code L1
2 For Plant 1 When value >= 5000 (Manager) will release , release code 01 release release strategy r2and rel code L2
Now the manager will have 2 release code,if  officer is absent he could release the requisition.
Same has to be done for plant 2
The release Group and code needs to be assigned to the Roles , could anybody tell  me  where i could know about roles and will be able to create roles and assign authorisation objects to the Roles , and release group and code to the enduser.
though its a basis job , since I have no idea , I mean I have never worked with Roles ,as now I have created the Release strategy with classification I need to assign authorisation objects to the Roles as I have four release strategy
    1. For Plant 1 lower value of requisition 1 codeL1(Officer)
2  For higher value of requisition 2 code say Li and L2(Manager)
Manager should have 2 codes if  officer is absent he could release
Same has to be done for Plant 2
    Thanks N Regards
    Siddhartha

    Hii,
    Steps:
    1) Create a Role
    2) Add the authorization Object  M_EINK_FRG by taking the manual option
    3) Assign Release Code and Release Grp
    4) Assign the Role to the User ID which has the authorization of the Release Code and Grp.

  • Create Release strategy for PR

    Dear experts,
We have one class FRG_EBAN for PR release strategy and there are 5 characteristics in that class. Now i need to create a rel. strategy with 4 characteristics . Can i create a new class for PR release strategy?
    Please help.
    Thank you
    King regards,
    Zusen

Thank you SAM for your reply.
In the existing class FRG_EBAN one of characteristics is Account Assignment Category. If i am not wrong which cannt be blank. and i have seen that all characteristics included in the class needs to be maintained in the release strategy.
I need to create a release strategy of PR in which no a/c assignment category will be maintained. but in existing scenario i cannt create release strategy without giving value in a/c assignment category characteristic in the characteristic tab of release strategy.
Please suggest how to resolve this problem

  • Issue with PO Release strategy

    Hi experts,
I have problem with Po release strategy in 5 to 10 purchase orders, i have created few purchase orders(2000 Po's) with same document type and company code ..etc and saved, then release strategy has been triggered.
For few purhcase orders release strategy has not been triggered.
If i take 1 po from that few purchase orders(Release strategy has not triggered) as reference and again if i create PO,new purchase order have getting created with release strategy.
Can some body tel how this ican be possible, hope this might be standard syatem behaviour.
Hope i should delete thos e purchase orders and i should create new PO's instead of of old PO's (Without release strategy).
Some experts can share their experiance in this regard.
And how i should proceed further with this issue.??
    Thanks

    Hi,
You issue in your system has 2000Nou2019s purchase orders  with release strategy has been triggered but 5 to 10 purchase orders do have release strategy.
& when you are creating a new PO with reference to old purchase orders (which release strategy has not triggered) and on saving NEW PO created with triggering release strategy.
    Cause for above:
PO which release strategy does not trigger because the purchase orders are created before setting release strategy for PO. Those PO triggered release strategy and all are created after setting release strategy for PO.
    Action:
Its completely business call for business users to go for options:
Option-- >1# You can use same old PO which release strategy does not triggered, do GR and all other process
Option-- >2# You can create new PO with reference old PO which release strategy does not triggered and upon saving you will have new PO number with release strategy triggered, then release PO & do GR and other related process.

  • Release strategy of PO creation under contract

    Hi,
if PO creation without any contract, release strategy is required. However, if PO is created from contract, no release strategy should be used. Pls advice how to configure it. thanks

The best option is you differentiate the PO document type i.e. create a seperate document type (ZNB) for those PO which are created wrt contract...Now while creating PO release strategy use PO document type (BSART) as one of the characteristic and there don't use this new PO document type (ZNB)

  • Purchase Order not subject to release strategy

    Good day everyone!
I've created one release strategy for all my purchasing documents. The characteristic is net value, and the value of this characteristic is >=0.00. Meaning, ALL purchase orders are subject to release strategy.
After I did the release strategy in SPRO, I created a few PO and when I tried to release them, I got this message: "Purchasing document 45xxxxxxxx not subject to release strategy".
My question is: How to assign purchasing document to release strategy?
Please help. Thank you in advance.
    Anisah

    hi
yes you have to use table CEKKO for PO release strategy , now , in PO you can't create without clasification so it will be applicabe for whole PO not for line items ,
now below i am giving u one by one steps , follow and let me know .
The release code is a two-character ID allowing a person to release (clear, or approve) a requisition or an external purchasing document. The release codes is basically controlled via a system of authorizations (authorization object M_EINK_FRG).
Use SE12, structure CEKKO to check all the fields available for controlling the Purchase Order.
e.g. If the total value for the Purchase Order exceeds 10,000, release strategy 01 is assigned to the Purchase Order.  There is only one characteristic created in this example.  For controlling the Purchase Order type, create characteristic for CEKKO-BSTYP and the value NB.
    CT04 - Create Characteristic   e.g.  NETVALUE
Click Additional data Table name CEKKO      Field name  GNETW    and press enter
(for currency dependent field, you are prompt to enter the currency which the system then converts the currency of the Purchasing document into this currency)
In the Basic data (X refers to tick),
    X    Mutliple values
    X    Interval values
In the Value data, in the Char. value column, type >10000 and press enter
    Save your data
    CL02 - Class
    Class - Create REL_PUR
    Class type - 032
    Click Create
Description - Release Procedure for Purchase Order
In the Same Classification section, click Check with error
In the Char. (characteristic) tab, type NETVALUE to assign your characteristics to the class
OMGS - Define Release Procedure for Purchase Order Type
    Release Group - New entries
    Rel.group   Rel. Object   Class                 Description
02                                 REL_PUR        Rel. Strategy for PO
    Release codes - New entries
    Grp         Code
    02           01
    Release indicators
    Release indicators           Release        Description
          0                                                        Blocked
          1                                     X                Release
    Release Strategy
    Release group   02
    Rel.strategy    01
    Release codes   01
    Release status   0
                            1
    Classification   Choose your check values
    OMGSCK - Check Release Strategies
(make sure there are no error messages)
Once the Purchase Order is not release, buyers will not be able to print the Purchase Order.
Goods Receipts will be shown with Message no. ME 390 - Purchasing document XXXXXXX not yet released.
In 4.6c, Purchase Order with Release Strategy have a tabs at the end of the Header.  This allowed the buyers to check the release status of the Purchase Order.
The person with the release authorization have to use ME28 to release the Purchase Order.

  • Purchase Order Release Strategy Approval

    HI All,
I have an issue with the Purchase Order Release Strategy, I need to set the Release strategy at 2 levels.
Level one will have 1 approver
Level two must have two approvers.
    The scene is:
Level one will approve all purchase orders betwee 400 to 5000 euros.  1 approver only
Level two will approve all purchase orders above 5000 euros.  2 approvers.
The problem is that the level two approvers must have the same Purchasing Group, Release strategy and Code, that is.
Pur. group G70, Release Group GC and release strategy DF.
I have completed the customising and the Release simulation is working correctly but when the PO is created the is no release strategy proposed.
CL20N is completed for both levels and works correctly for level one approval but not for level two
    Can any please help
    Leslie

    Hi,
May be in your case the values are not properly designed in release strategy for PO Value (ZPO_GNETW) release characteristic. Now go for creation of following release characteristics
    1. PO Order Type (ZPO_BSART),
    2. Company Code (ZPO_ BUKRS),
    3. Purchasing Organization (ZPO_EKORG),
    4.Plant (ZPO_WERKS)
    5. Purchasing Group (ZPO_ EKGRP) and
    6. Total net PO Value (ZPO_GNETW)
Create one release class ZPO_CLASS & then add all above release characteristics
And then design your release strategies as required.
AND under release characteristic for PO Value (ZPO_GNETW) keep following values
    A. <= 400 EUR
    B. 400.01- 5000 EUR
    C. >5000 EUR
As you already created Release Group GC & release strategy DF (1st level), now create another release strategy DS (2nd level).
NOTE: As you needed one releaser at 1st level and then two releasers in 2nd level. So create three release codes C1 for 1st level and C2 & C3 for 2nd level.
In designing release strategies for PO , you can keep value 400.01- 5000 EUR with release codes C1 under DF release strategy and Keep value >5000 EUR with release codes C2 & C3 under DS release strategy.

  • How to determine the right PR Release strategy

    Hi Experts,
Could u help me to solve this problem!
As our business, we want the system automatically determine the right Release Strategy based on the total Amount(amt) of PR such as
    - if PR total amt <= 1000 USD --> must  checked by only Department Manager (DM)
    - if PR total amt >1000 USD --> must checked by  Department Manager (DM) and General Director (GD)
so i've already configured system like that:
    1. Create characteristic : CEBAN_GSWRT (Structure CEBAN ; Field GSWRT)
    2. create anew Class CEBAN_GSWRT, which associated with above Characteristic
    3. Create release Group "03", which associated with above Class (CEBAN_GSWRT) and cheked "Overall Release PR"
    4. Create Release Code DM ; GD
    5. Create two Release Strategy such as:
5.1.  Strategy 01 - DM Only, which have only DM release code & assigned to class  CEBAN_GSWRT and the value identified here is <=1000 USD
5.2  Strategy 02 - DM -GD , which have DM & GD release code & assigned to class  CEBAN_GSWRT and the value identified here is >1000 USD
then, i created two PRs, one have amt <1000 USD , another >1000 USD, but the system alway get the same Release Strategy 01,its mean that system allway apply the first case Amt of PR <1000 USD.
Note: In the Document Type i checked Overall Release also!
So, pls help me to show out wrong or missing steps!
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Friends,
I want to assign the release stratedgy for PR and PO for my plant in a partcular company code. Can someone please help or guide me how to do that.
    Regards,
    Wasim.

    Wasim
go to path img-mm-purchase-po-release strategy like pr also
as per your requirement menas based on the which characterstics you want create the release strategy ?
define the characterstics ct04 and assign all this to class cl02.
define the release stratesy - release group-release codes- release indicator-release statues
then - simulation and classification. in the calsssification you have to define characetstics.
you have define with classification release strategy for po
for pr with or w/o you can create . w/o means item level with means headeer level.

  • Plant on release strategy - Purchase requisition

    Hi,
I have release strategy for one purchase organization. Now, I created another release strategy, for another purchase organization.
Both purchase organizations have the same plants.
But in the second purch org, in some plants, the release strategy don't apears.
Do you know Why? There are no difference on customizing.
    Tks.

    Yes it is solution
But as I wrote before – there is too many incorrect combination.
    Example
    PG A1, A2, A3, A4…. A50
    Pl 2200, PG A1 – OK
    Pl 2200, PG A2 – OK
    Pl 2200, PG A3..50 NOK
For this example I have to set 48 combinations (strategy with S).
I noticed that I would have to set about 200 strategies. Client don’t want accept it.
You wrote – “set up one unique strategy”. How? As I know I need 200 strategies (or there is something I don’t know

  • Types of release strategy's?

    Hi Guys
what are the types of release strategy?
other than value based what else criteria does the release strategy can be made?
could you please share some of your real time strategy's followed by your company.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
    cheers

what are the types of release strategy?
Ther is no types but based on the requirements you can create the release strategy
It's not neccesary that you can creta only value based but you can use for any purpose as long as you want to control your PO or PR or any purchase document go out without any supervision in this case you can create based on the field avilabe for release strategy
e.g. for PO you can use any field from CEKKO table and for PR - CEBAN table
i have scenario in one of my project is i don;t want my PR should directly go to purchasing without label approvla in this case the price was not creiteria but the material group was the criteri like wise you can use any criteria to hold the document go without approval
