Mass Creation of Selection Profiles DP and SNP

Dear Friends ,
Could you please support me on the process of creating about 20000 SKU's product selection profiles in DP and Product Location selection profiles for 20000 SKUs plus Semi Finished Goods Codes in SNP .
I understand the creation of CVC's in DP but how to get all these 20000 CVCs into selection profiles in the DP Interactive Planning Book .

Could you please confirm if a SAP APO DRP/Heuristic (Location) refers to low level codes if they are available before DRP run?
Basically im trying to implement Multi location heuristic by excluding Plants and Co packers/Sub contractors based on low level codes. There are several categories of products but to start with we are trying to test and see only for 2 categories. We need to run the 'Whole Model' to generate low level codes. Then for DRP/Location Heuristic run we create selection profiles so that only the chosen 2 categories of products are calculated by referring to low level codes.
The main concern here is for categories where low level codes exist DRP will use it for planning sequence but for categories which are NOT chosen in the selection profile will the system still refer to MATMOD table/Low level codes for planning sequence? Does the system automatically refer to low level codes even if we don't include the skus/categories in selection profile?
Would really appreciate if you could share your experience.

Dear All ,
Need support . I have created a set of selection profiles in DP for which demand planning is being carried out . I release the Demand Plan to SNP every month .
SNP also has a set of selection profiles based on location product . What I want to make simple for the user is that only the products which have a demand qty in the Demand Planning ie qtys released month after month to SNP should be available to the supply planner in SNP book .
That is SNP Book for a horizon should contain only those selection profiles which have a forecast and need to be supply planned .

Hi Prashant,
There is no easy or simple way to do create or assign seletive selection profiles in your SNP planning book. If you want you can do custom development to read the data in keyfigure and then modify the selection profiles (relevant tables are /SAPAPO/TS_SELKO and /SAPAPO/TS_SELPO).
Otherwise the better process for approaching this issue would be planning by exception. Use a macro to generate alerts for those products which have appropriate demand data. The supply planner should look at these alerts in Alert Monitor and from there directly go to the Interactive Planning Table for the respective location-product combination.

Selection Profile - what is it and where is it used?

Hi,
Kindly help to explain what a selection profile is and where it is used. (The configration is Project Systems > Structure > Operative Stucture > Milestones > Define Selection profiles.
I want to understand if we still need to set this up even if we do not use milestones.

Define Selection Profiles
In this menu option you define selection profiles that you can use to specify status combinations for selecting objects (for example, orders or operations). A selection profile is especially useful if you select a large number of objects repeatedly according to the same selection conditions (for example, orders for printing shop papers, for collective release, or for creating order valuations).
Selection procedure
The selection conditions are evaluated top-down. Here the following rule applies:
Several lines following one another that are linked by an OR are combined and evaluated together. From the block at least one selection condition must be fulfilled.
AND links blocks or individual conditions. All the blocks or individual conditions linked with AND must be fulfilled. An order is no longer part of the evaluation as soon as a block or individual condition is not fulfilled. That means that with every freshly inserted AND a bracket is inserted around the preceding expressions (conjunctive normal form). To select the desired status combinations a reforming of the selection conditions is necessary.
In general one can say that OR links more strongly than AND!
Example
You want to define a selection profile with which orders with the following status combinations are selected:
REL (released)
CRTD UND MACM (created and material committed)
To do this formulate:
REL OR (CRTD AND MACM)
But the system interprets:
(REL OR CRTD) AND MACM
Orders with the following status combinations are selected:
REL AND MACM
Thus the original formulation must be reformulated by "multiplying out" to:
(REL OR CRTD) AND (REL OR MACM)

Selection Profile to Filter by Forwarding Order type in Transportation Cockpit

Hi All,
we need to configure Selection Profile / Planning Profile to consider only certain forwarding order type.
The following settings have been done in the additional attributes of the Selection profile. And this selection profile is assigned to the Planning profile.
While these 2 profiles are used in the transportation Cockpit, the Freight units are not filtered by the Forwarding order type. Are we missing anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi George,
There are are two types of statuses.One is system status and second one is user status.These statuses will tell us current situation of an order.
We can't change system statuses.But we can create our own statuses through status profile.With this profile we can control user statuses.
In this status profile,
1.We define the sequence in which user statuses can be activated,
2.We define initial statuses
3. Allow or prohibit certain business transactions.
Selection profiles are used to select the objects (say production orders) with different status combinations.We assign status profiles to selection profiles in BS42 T-Code.

Mass creation of BOM and Master Recipe for Plants

My client wants to do Mass BOM creation and Mass Master Recipe Creation from a Generic BOM and Generic Master Recipe for all 10 Plants by just a click of button.
He does not want to use copy function using CSO1 or C201, and do for plants 'one by one'. He finds it very time-consuming. He wants to copy for all ten plants all at once. Please advice how this can be accomplished in the best possible manner, and if by standard SAP.

I want to Copy some bill of material from another plant .I had used T code CS01 for it but only the header bill of material is copied .
The copy field in CS01 is only for first level boms the subsequent Boms are not copied .
so is there any other way to do it ? if possible please give the detail procedure .

I get prompted to select a scanner and a scan profile/preset each time I try to scan a document to PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro.

I have a fujitsu scanner (fi-6140) connected to my computer and have the "Scan" button on the scanner associated with Adobe Acrobat. And so when I press the "Scan" button on the scanner to scan a document, it launches Adobe Acrobat Pro automatically. Then I get prompted to select a scanner/device and a scan profile. It seems to remember the last-used scanner/device, however; it still prompts me each time to confirm the scanner/device selected and select a scan profile to use. Is there a way to save both the scanner & scan profile information and so when I click the "Scan" button, it doesn't prompt me to select but starts scanning using the last-used settings automatically?

Please try updating Acrobat to 11.0.7 and check.

How to select the printer and select the ICC profile for printing with VBScript?

I try to automate my printing procedure in photoshop. The problem is that I don't know how to select the printer and select the icc profile for printing with vbscript like I manually do in the print-menu in photoshop?

I suggest you to create a form to invoke the report, allowing user to select the printer and then pass it as parameter DESNAME

DP - Selection profile creation

Hi all,
I am trying DP. I created a planning book. However, I can't assign any selection profile to it. I don't see any objects and I couldn't see any way to create a new one on TC /SAPAPO/SDP94.
I have already activated the planning book by creating time series objects, and maintained the planning object structure on /SAPAPO/MC62 with some entries.
I appreciate any help.

4.6     Creating Selection Profiles for the Planning Book
Use
For your planning process, you need to make a selection that restricts the range of products and locations. To do this, you create one or more selection profiles.
The demand planner uses the selection profile to quickly access frequently used selections.
Procedure
1.     To access the planning book choose one of the following navigation options:
SAP SCM menu     Advanced Planning and Optimization  Demand Planning  Planning  Interactive Demand Planning
Transaction code     /SAPAPO/SDP94
2.     In the Planning Book: SAP Standard Demand Planning screen, choose   Selection window in the left screen area.
The Object Selection dialog box is displayed.
3.     From the possible entries list in the Show field, select APO Product.
4.     Enter the planning version 000 in the field to the right of the APO Planning Version field.
5.     In the second row, restrict the range of products by specifying only those products that you actually need for your planning task. To do this, select APO Product and use the   multiple object selection :
For the Make-to-Stock scenario, for example, select APO-FERT-01 and APO-FERT-02, for other scenarios, specify the respective products.
6.     Choose   Save selection in the Objects Selection dialog box.
7.     Enter for example, MTS_CPG or VMI_CPG as the selection description and choose Save.
8.     Choose   Adopt
9.     To store the saved selection in your selection profile, choose   Maintain selection profile in the left screen area. In the Maintain Selection Profiles for Users dialog box, use drag and drop to transfer the saved selection from the right area to your selection profile on the left.
10.     Choose   Save and   Copy.
11.     To display objects that belong to a selection profile, double-click the selection. The system displays the objects in the upper left screen area.

Selection Profile Creation

I am having a selection profile already existing and i need to create a new selection profile which has a similar structure that of the previous one. My question is how do i see the contents of the already existing selection profile and how do i create the new one. I did try to create a selection profile getting into the interactive planning book but i am not able to see that while making a selection while creating the variant.

My question then would be, Is business trying to plan based on Product?? business normally planes on Sales Objects like Sales Org and Sold to Ship and then associated with a Product. I would say clarify which level of forecasting they are thinking of doing. Take the requirements correctly.
If you still want to perform Forecasting of a particular set of Plant - Org components combination , as Nair said you will need to maintain the selection in the Planning Book for that Planning Area. As selections are stored for the Planning Book and if you want to run the background job in this Plannign Book you need to maintain the selections in the same Plannign Book.
Once you have the selection ID s created, whether manually
main menu > DP> Environment > Selection Organization.> Maintain Selection Assignments.
Then try to use two differet selection ID s.
One selection ID for Constant forecasting,
Second one for No forecast.
Is this what you want to know??

How do I "archive" masses of old emails IN ORDER TO SHRINK MY "PROFILE" SIZE and yet be able to access them possibly in a different profile?

In order to have quicker "profile" backups... I have emails dating back to 1996, about 15GB, and do not want to delete any of the old email, and, at the same time do not need to look at most of the old email, although I may sometimes do a search for something; now, backing up the 15GB profile is time consuming and if I "archived" (saved the old stuff, possibly under a separate profile), then that profile might be 14GB, which, when backed up would not need to be re-backed up, and my daily use profile might be 1GB which would be much easier to back up on a regular basis. I managed to create another profile and I wonder if I can just copy those "folders" in my profile that I want to "archive" into the new profile? And, it is not clear to me how to have both profiles displayed in the same instance of Thunderbird, but, if that is not possible, I'm OK with starting TB and specifying which profile I want for the current session. Thanks.

What I would do is export all of the folders you want to archive to an external medium and then delete them from the profile. If you need to look at an old email later, the export can be in HTML format for easy viewing.
There is an add-on to TB which allows export (and import) of emails in various formats to a separate storage medium (external disk, thumb drive, etc.).

Mass creation of info records means, if you have more than 50+ records needs to be created, in that case you can use any bdc or CATT or LSMW program.

I am afraid, my help is limited to this forum.
However, I can help you with some ABAP logic :
Table AGR_1252 is used to store the ORG values of derived roles.
You can start working with an ABAP'er to get his coding magic started. Though I am not familiar with ABAP, I believe our ABAP'er debugged PFCG and knew what needed to be done. I have no clue what he did
the logic:
Start of Selection
Load information into internal tables for use in creating report
Upload the Organsational Changes Spreadsheet
Ensure Roles exist and there are no duplicates
Ensure Organistional levels exist and there are no duplicates
*Checks if the file exists
Role must exist
Ignore duplicate roles
Authority Check Role for user
IMP Logic checks-
For Add High range of Role must be greater than low range
*...if adding specific ranges - remove existing * or space entry if it
exists
*...if adding * access remove other accesses if they exist
*Process All Org Levels for each role
...submit report to generate profiles
You can start working with your ABAP'er with this logic.
*Disclaimer* - this may need enhancements to meet your requirements. Also, I have just put the logic what I could remember at the top of my head. I may have missed something.

1.Goto MD61 with User parameters like Plant , Requirement type , Version and Planning Date .Then Select the Material Radio Buttion with FG item code .
2.Enter the FG qty as required in each month as demand
3.GotO MD02-Single Item ,Multi Level with indicator : NETCH , 2,1,3,3,2 and Execute the MRP to create the Planned order for FG
4.Check the result in MD04
There is no SAP Standard Traction to Mass creation of Planned Order .That is possible in Demand Creation and MRP run .

SECATT - Mass creation of users with different assigned roles

Hello! I've been tasked with creating an eCATT to do a mass creation of users and each user will have a different role assigned (besides the general roles). We're doing this to test out the different roles we have created. I've done some searching through the forums and found some different ideas but I'm not sure they are exactly what I need. One suggestion was to use SU10 to make the role assignement but I'm guessing I would still need to setup a parameter for each role so I would initially need to know how many roles would be entered. I would like for the eCATT to be able to handle assigning multiple roles to a user with each user possibly getting a different number of roles. Would anyone be able to suggest a way to assign different roles to different users through an eCATT?

To create users, maybe SU01 or SU10 can be used. To assign users to a role, maybe you can try with PFCG.
SU01 and SU10 have the view from the user - for each user, different roles can be selected and assigned to that user.
PFCG has the view of roles - for each role, different users can be selected and assigned to that role.
Hence if you know which roles should be assigned to which users, PFCG might be easier.
