Mass delete/remove valuation category

Hi SAP MM experts,
Is there any way to mass delete or remove valuation category Q and valuation type in the material master? Please provide step by step way..

this can be done with MASS t.code and select the req master data and executein the next screen select the req fields to be changed or deleted .

Hi All,
I am using batch valuation for a particular plant for specific material. For that I am using Valuation catagory X in Accounting View 1 of Material Master.
By mistake business has maintained this valuation catagory X for some other plant also and some transaction is also done so some valuation type data is also created.
Now after ensuring all document closed and no stock still I am not able to remove valuation catagory indicator X. It is giving error when I am going to display error than I see following :
"Valuation data already exists for valuation types that are
not compatible with the new valuation category."
I do not want to delete this Valuation catagory as the same is being used in other plant .
I can not go to third solution also as need to revert valuation catagory for specific material in particular plant. I mean specific material in particular plant is with Valuation catagory X and now it has to be without split / batch valuation so X need to be removed.
Pls. advice.

Valuation category absent

dear experts.
In My material Master valuation category is missing,i want to maintain this.
for this material stock and batches are already avaialble.
for stock ,i can be able to remove the stock,
But for the batches i can't ,system gives an error for batch already exist.
pls suggest as soon as possible.

archiving is a process rather than a transaction, it requires customizing and good process understanding.
Archiving means KEEPING date outside of SAP production tables, it is not jsut deleting, as the data may still be needed for internal and external audits. maybe for ten or more years.
Before you can archive a batch, you may have to archive other objects, where this batch was used.
This can be seen in SARA. Enter MM_SPSTOCK then click the network button.
If you still do not give up and create a new material, as this is certainly the quicker solution, then you need to define where you want store your archived data and then customize the logical and physical paths and file names. Best you do this step together with your basis team.
The customizing can be done via the customizing button in SARA transaction.
Further you have to define how big your archive shall be, and if you want delete immediatly after writing the archive automatically or if you want do that as extra step manually.
You have to define your test and production variants in customizing too.
Next is clicking the write button, give a variant name and continue to maintain your selection screen.
Then schedule the job and execute it.
Check the spool for messages, it tells you whether it could archive or not and if not why not.

Very strange issue in MM at valuation category

Hi!
Situation:
I have 7 plants defined in SAP. I have activated Split valuation in all plants (i have activated for them X category - Automatic Batch)
Here comes the problem: when I define a material, in Accounting 1 view, in Valuation Category field BWTTY in one of the plants the filed is grey and it doesn't let me enter value X (although if i click on the match code, it opens a list with the plant and X category), but in all other plants the field is opened and I can put X there.
Any ideas?
I must maintain the plant, I cannot delete him and create another one (I must keep his code).

Automatic deletion batch valuation type from PO after cancellation GR

Hi, colleagues
I need your guidance.
The problem is:
We have batch management with different valuation types.(valuation type is connected to batch) In mm03 valuation category is "X".
Process:We make standart Purchase order, then MIGO where we put batch(with automatic valuation type for this batch) then we make cancellation of GR and try to make GR with another batch and valuation type. System gives mistake: m7043.
As I understand, when we made GR firstly, system have written this valuation type into PO and the following GR for this PO can be only with this valuation type.
Have you any ideas how to make automatic! deletion of valuation type from PO after cancellation? Fields batch and valuation type in PO are hidden and users must not change it in PO.
Mabe there are some notes or you can provide some other ideas?

No. In standard, if you will do GR for batch number XXX, then system will not update the same batch number in PO (neither batch field nor valuation type field).
At the time of making PO leave the batch and valuation type field as blank.
Then check. I've checked the scenario. System is allowing to do GR with other batch number.

Mass change of valuation class

Hi Folks,
We need to change Valution class for almost 150 materials.
I'm referring SAP note:-160970 for this.
So,please guide me from where should I start?
I think I need to first check any open POs or stocks are there or not...right?Anything else?
But,if suppose I found a lot of POs and stocks for this material,then how would I clear this?
What are the transactions for Mass deletion od POs and production orders.
Please assist step by step as this will have huge impact on FI.

You can change the valuation class of the material if
NO Valuated stocks in the current period or in the previous period
No Open purchase orders or delivery schedule linesn
No Production orders for which a goods movement has already taken place
If valuated stocks already exist, you can change the valuation class only as follows:                         a) Post the stocks of the material to an interim account.
                           b) Change the valuation class in the material master record.
                          c) Post the stocks of the material back to their original account.
If open purchase orders already exist, you can only change the valuation class if you first flag the corresponding purchase order items for deletion.
If production orders exist for which a goods movement has already taken place, you can only change the valuation class if you first set the status of the production orders to Deleted.

Mass delete of condition records

Hi All,
Please advise if there is a mass delete function of condition records. I have uploaded prices for customer/material conbination for the month of novemver and i want to delete them all. I can do it one by one but it will take tooooo long. Also please advise that if a record is marked for delete indicator, then can it be used again ? or can i reomve it completely becasue i want to upload again with correct prices.

There is no such Transaction available to delete those like in MASS.
Best thing is to use a LSMW with VK12 transaction.

Yes, You can.
Once marked for deletion they won't appear in the sales order automatically. Pricing Analysis will show you like this.
"Condition record has been deleted"
If you want to use it again go to VK12, and go in to your condition record.
Highlight the condition line item and press "Details" button (Magnifying Glass)
Un-tick the "Deletion lndicator" check box.
Save.
Then you can use it again as normal way.

Yes, You can.
You can remove it completely from the data base. First you have to configuret your condition type in IMG to enable that function..
Go to V/06
Select you condition record & go in to details.
There you get a filed called "delete fr. DB" under "Master data" section.
Change it to "A with popup" or "B without popup".
Which means your going to delete it from the data base. (Where as you cannot use it again, like you do in Deletion indicator)
Save
Then come to VK12,
Go in to your condition record.
Highlight the condition line item and press Delete button from lower area.
If you set "A with pop up" in the condition record, you'll get a pop up saying,
"The condition type XXXX is set so that when the deletion indicator is set, the condition record can be physically deleted from the database.Do you want to delete the condition record physically?"
Once save system will delete it from the data base.
If you set "B without pop up", system will delete it without a pop up.

CC 5.2_09 Rule Architect Tab - Risks - Delete .... Mass Delete Option?

I have an opportunity where I'd like to mass delete my risks and rules and reload them. During an SP update, our Basis team appended to our rules with the SAP "out-of-the-box" rules. I'd like to get to the point of deleting everything (rules and risks) and start over. Does anyone have an option available to do this so that I can reload everything from scratch? We only have CC/RAR and FF/SPM in use right now, so no other module will be affected.

If you want to remove ALL CC data, you'll have to remove all data from all CC tables in SQL. If you only want to remove select amounts of data, you might want to open an SAP ticket to get the most updated script for your release and flavor of SQL, but here's a sample script:

Inventory problem for material with valuation category X

Hi!
During annual inventory, I found material in a storage location that doesn't exist in SAP as material master.
I have created the material, managed in batches and valuation category X.
I have created a batch with MSC1N and now I am trying to create an inventory document to put this material on stock; but when I am trying to create the inventory document with MI01 or MI31, the system is telling me :
"Batch 0000043183 does not contain a valuation type
Message no. M7045
Diagnosis
The material is subject to split valuation, but the batch entered has not been assigned to a valuation type.
System Response
Any transaction/event that has the effect of changing the stock balance will be rejected for this batch.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator.
If you are authorized to do so, do you wish to check the valuation category in the material master record?
Do you want to display the batch?"
Now, I don't know exactly what can I do to be able to create the inventory document.
Any ideas.....

Since you have created a material master with valuation category that means the system is taking that material either as split valuated or to-be split valuated...the reason of this error you will find out if you go to MSC2N with material-batch & plant you will find in the Basic data 1 tab that Valuation type field is mandatory...so either you have to split valuate the item further and then enter the same valuation type in MSC2N or otherwise if you not still done any transaction with the material master then remove the valuation category from the material master

Is there a way to mass delete any song with an exclamtion point next to it?

All of the sudden after resetting the sync history in iTunes (while trying to troubleshoot the fact that the upgraded OS4 was only syncing about 25% of my total music library), all of the sudden all of the tracks that it didn't sync (the other 75%) all have exclamation points next to them in iTunes, which for each song indicates "The song can not be used because the original file cannot be found".
Therefore, is there a way to mass delete all of these song names in iTunes? (then I can copy and paste the actual files into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder and the path to the file should work? (THEORETICALLY OF COURSE)... and... What would cause such a random error? (So frustrating because iTunes can locate where the file is when I click the button "yes" to the question "Would you like to locate it?", but at the me time two seconds earlier it's telling me "The original file cannot be found". ????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yes, you can simply highlight all the songs with the exclamation point at once and then RIGHT CLICK and choose DELETE. This will remove them from the iTunes list all at once.

Mass delete and performances

Hi,
we use a few tables to log access to our various e-commerce sites.
Now some of these tables are very large (20-50 millions row) so we decided to remove old data after having consolidated it.
However deleting a large number of rows takes a long time (it took about 18 minutes to remove 2millions).
We're removing all rows with primary key less than x (key is an integer).
Does a method exists to mass delete with better performances (maybe disabling logging or ....) ?
If not, can I send a delete statement that will run on background (i.e. disconnecting the client) possibly at a lower priority ?
Rows are always inserted with primary key greater than x (it's a db sequence) so delete and insert never conflicts.

I know that this might come a bit too late for your scenario, but how about this?
For your logging table you could implement something like a poor-mans-partitioniong yourself.
Instead of one big table, you create a table for each, say quarter yourself.
You also create a synonym to he currently used "write-into-this" partition, so that your logging trigger doesn't have to be changed when the new partition should be used.
On top of that you create a UNION view over all partitions.
With that your requirements for logging everything should be fulfilled and (since you don't have to take care about updates) you can keep the active partition small and get rid of old data very fast (drop table/truncate table).
If you go for the "truncate table" (which is pretty much the same as a "drop table" for MaxDB) then you can also think about having a fixed set of tables (Q1, Q2,... Q7, Q8) that you write to in a round-robin fashion. This would then be a kind of moving-window into your logging history.
The only thing to take care of here is that you'll need to have a small time-slice in which you change the synonym every quarter.
Just my two pence on this...

I agree with Tarik. Unfortunately, it's not possible to delete all the alarms in one go. We have to delete page by page but It's very tedious when you have 7k alarms. A (sev 6) feature request has already been filed on this:

ISE-Alpha has > 16K items in alarm inbox and it will take a long time to delete them page by page. We should implement an option to trash all items in one shot if so desired. The delete-all option should give the proper warnings that all items will be removed and not recoverable.

Extend Material to another plant with Valuation CAtegory X

Hi All,
I have a Material in Plant 1, with Valuation Category H.
I want to extend this material to Plant 2 with Valuation Category 'X' (Auto Batch)
Its not accepting X, any other entry would be possible
It says "With Single batch valuation, batch management must be defined. The following plants have no batch management requirement: Plant 1"
If i activate batch management in Plant 2, it is working.....but i dont want Batch management for this material.
How do i solve this.

Mass deletion of POs

Hi,
I want to delete POs for particular materials at item level in mass.
Means suppose in one PO we have 4 materials at item level as 10,20,30,40.
And I want to delete PO items for 10 and 30 for one PO and for another 20 and 40.
Then how to do this in MEMASSPO transaction as there I have not found any combination of POs with item levels.
We will have to enter POs and item levels separately which will may pick materials that I donu2019t want to delete in the particular PO.
Please assist me how to tackle this issue.

You can do the mass deletion in MEMASSPO traxn code however in your case you wanted to delete some of the items in the PO and which will different in different PO's i.e. item 10 and 20 in PO no X and item 40 and 60 in Y PO. So you have two options:
1.MEMASSPO: Mass deletion
Here you select the "Purchase Order item" in tables tab,then you would enter the PO document numbers,system will lists all items in the PO however here you have to manually remove the all other line items which you don't wanted to delete,this is lot of manual work too.
2.WRITE "BDC":
You can have a BDC which would select the PO range as well as the PO line item numbers form the XLS file.
I would suggest you to go with BDC for this mass deletion.
