Mass Deletion of Alternate UOM from MARM Table

Hi,
We plan to remove some of the alternate UOM for few thousand materials. We would like to delete them in mass. We could remove the UOM conversion factors using mass maintenance. But the alternate UOM stays in the UOM table MARM. Is there any BAPI or IDOC available to handle this using LSMW? Has anyone come across this requirement before? If you have any input, it will be really appreciated.

Hi,
in deleting the records in PSA table difficult and how many you will the delete.
you can achieve the different ways.
1. creating the DSO maintain the some key fields it will overwrite the based on key fields.
2. you can write the ABAP logic deleting the duplicate records at info package level check with the your ABAPer.
3.you can restrict the cancellation records at query level.

Delete 50 Million records from a table with 60 Million records

Hi,
I'm using oracle9.2.0.7 on win2k3 32bit.
I need to delete 50M rows from a table that contains 60M records. This db was just passed on to me. I tried to use the delete statement but it takes too long. After reading the articles and forums, the best way to delete that many records from a table is to create a temp table, transfer the data needed to the temp table, drop the big table then rename temp table to big table. But the key here is in creating an exact replica of the big table.I have gotten the create table, indexes and constraints script in the export file from my production DB. But in the forums I read, I noticed that I haven't gotten the create grant script, is there a view I could use to get this? Can dbms.metadata get this?
When I need to create an exact replica of my big table, I only need:

There are triggers, foreign keys referencing this table (which will not permit you to drop the table if you do not take care of them), snapshot logs on the table, snapshots based on the table, etc...

Performant way to select largest uom from MARM for all materials?

Hi people,
I need to select (for a large number of materials) the biggest UOM from MARM.
(biggest as in UMREZ/UMREN > other uom).
I'd like to make it into a function module, so that I can reuse it in other programs, because I'll need it a couple of times.
Does anyone have an idea how to go about this? I think if this has to run several thousand times for one report, I can't simply "select * from marm where matnr = my_matnr" and then compute umrez/umren for all lines, and return the biggest uom... it wouldn't be performant at all.

sadly, that would only help me find the biggest UMREZ, wouldn't it? (I already tried "select max( umrez ) from MARM etc...", but it's not good enough since one can simply enter, say, 25 as umrez and 25 as umren, and basically create a uom that's equivalent to the BUOM)

Please try to understand the question.Well it would help if you would answer some of the questions you have been asked as your question is not complete and clear and no matter how hard we try, we really need you to try and ask the question properly.
So as previously asked
Which simply supports the idea that we need:
1) better definition of the business purpose (why)
2) oracle version
3) operating system
4) hardware configuration
to give a moderately accurate answer.
I would like to add
5) How many rows in total in the table to begin with.
6) What is your delete statement
7) Is this a one time operation or will it happen regularly
8) Can you use partitioning.

Mass deletion of SAP roles from users

Hello All,
i need to delete all assinged roles from a big number of users. I know the users but not the roles which the users have. I need to delete all roles from the users-id's.
I know SU10 and i can select all my needed users. But in the role tab i can not work with roles-names like Z* to delete. I can select all z*-roles and select "remove" but when i click to save, i get the message no changes made on the users???

The way back is uploading the old role assignment previously exported from AGR_USERS. The program takes an excel sheet. In addition this excel sheet is attached to the change requests.
From risk perspective we say (and experienced): mass changes through copy and paste lead to much more errors and faulty authorizations.
Regarding direct table maintenance: standard function modules are used (like the one mentioned above) and the changes are visible in the change documents, Therefore the auditors grant an exception for using such tools.

Physical deletion of WBS elements from PRPS table

Hi Experts,
In CJ20N transaction:
When I delete a project with project profile (ZABC), the following actions are performed:
- The project entry are physically deleted from 'PROJ' table.
- The WBS entries are physically deleted from 'PRPS' table.
When I delete another with with project profile (ZXYZ), the following actions are perfomed:
- The project entry are physically deleted from 'PROJ' table.
- The WBS entries are NOT physically deleted from 'PRPS' table.
What is the reason for not deleting entries physically from PRPS table?

I did the following way:
1. created a recording which always deletes the second line in Additional data-> uom conversions.
2. by multiply running this recording via lsmw will delete all uoms.
3. I was not able to do it at once as different materials has different numbers of alternative uom entered.

Deleting rows by key from several tables

One of action of my stored procedure is deleting rows from several tables on a key , that I'm getting through statement :

Unfortunately the number of lines mentioned by this statement isn't known in advance .
How do You think , is better way to

By using : 1.trigger 2. on delete cascade you can achieve this.

Selective Deletion and Data Load from Setup Tables for LIS Extractor

Hi All,
We came across a situation where one of the delta in PSA was missed to load in DSO. This DSO updates another cube in the flow. Since it has been many days since this miss come in our knowledge we need to selectively delete data for those documents from DSO & Cube and then take a full load for the Documents filling the setup table.
Now what will be the right approach to load this data from setup table > DSO > cube. There is change log present for those documents and a few KPI's in DSO are in summation mode.

This is Sales Order extractor, the data got loaded to ODS just fine, but since the data is coming to ODS from different extractor. Everything is fine in ODS, but not in the cube. Will Full repair request and Full load would it make difference when the data is going to cube? I thought that it would matter only if I am loading to ODS.
what do you mean "Even if you do a full load without any selections you should do a full repair ".

To use select Options for table name and based on the table names we want to delete the data from the tables...
conditions :
we have to first check if the tables having mandat and the configuration tables if this tables then dnt delete the data from this tables. if the table other than mandat n config tables the data will be deleted from other tables.

I belive in LBWQ you can only see one entry for an application. You'll see only one entry MC*18 for all your datasources.
Do one thing. Do not delete from there. Run your "Job Control" job which moves all the data from LBWQ queue to RSA7 queue, making your LBWQ queue empty. Now go to RSA7 and delete your data for the specified datasource...
Been a while since I looked at those screens, but I believe I am right.
