Mass deletion of alternative UOM conversion

Hi Colleagues,
Does anybody knows is there an easy way for mass-deletion of alternative unit of measure conversion rules in material master?

I did the following way:
1. created a recording which always deletes the second line in Additional data-> uom conversions.
2. by multiply running this recording via lsmw will delete all uoms.
3. I was not able to do it at once as different materials has different numbers of alternative uom entered.

Mass Deletion of Alternate UOM from MARM Table

Hi,
We plan to remove some of the alternate UOM for few thousand materials. We would like to delete them in mass. We could remove the UOM conversion factors using mass maintenance. But the alternate UOM stays in the UOM table MARM. Is there any BAPI or IDOC available to handle this using LSMW? Has anyone come across this requirement before? If you have any input, it will be really appreciated.

Mass Delete of Alternative BOM

I would just like to verify if there is a transaction code that we could use in order to mass delete the alterantive BOMs of materials.

Hi Jasmin,
First of all,
in Tcode CS28 give variant name and then click on Maintain and then go to next screen.
In archive variant You need to specify following things by selecting appropriate button :
1.Control Parameters
2.Selection Type
3.BOM Categories for Archiving ( Material BOM, Equipment BOM etc)
4.Additional Restrictions to the Archived BOMs
Then you need to save above settings for variant and then excute the same. So you will be able Archive the BOM as per your requirement ( With / Without Deleting BOMs).

How to do the mass maintainanace of UOM conversion in Basic data1 view> Additional Data> UOM? In MM17, MEINH is not there. Please convey.

Hi:Please follow below steps:
1) Go to MM17, then select table marm,then execute
2) Then you will be able to see two tabs named"data records to be changed and data records to be created"
3) check selection box "Do not change existing data"
4) To populate materail which needs to be mass maintained UOM, then click "data records to be created" tab
5) In "Specify values for the reference" area, you need to fill in material and UOM which will be refered from e.g kg(suppose kg had been maintained)
6) To input material and UOM which needs to be mass maintained in area "specify data records to be created" e.g PC
7) Execute and save.

Alternative UOM wrong quantity conversion

While issuing the material qty 50 PCE its converts into 300.002 Kg, as it should be 300 Kg.
The alternative UOM is maintained as, 1PCE = 6 Kg.

Can you provide more details about where you issuing it. If possible upload screenshots n paste the link here of mtl master (Alt. UoM page), then stock keeping unit, the goods issue posting etc. to get a better understanding.

Using Alternative UOM in transaction VA21

We want to use alternative UOM for Hydrocarbon Product during creation of a quotation using transaction VA21 and document type QT so that user can change the Alternative UOM say in KG or L15 or change the temperature and density of the material.

Please solve:
In Material Master for material HSD02, Base UOM is L15 and Sales Unit is KL.
Earlier in Additional Data, 1 KL <= 1000 L15 is stored.
Now I want to chage the conversion factor as 1 KL <= 987.9 L15 or 10 KL <= 9879 L15.
Hence I wanted to delete the earlier entry with 1 KL <= 1000 L15 and tried to maintain 10 KL <= 9879 L15.
This is not allowed. On saving the change again earlier entry 1 KL <= 1000 L15 appears in Additional Data -> Unit of Measure.

Mass Deletion Of Purchase Requisitions Without Using LSMW

Hi,
We would like to delete huge volume of PR generated through MRP. Deleting PR will be a frequent activity in our business scenario. Since the person responsible for MRP is not very much conversant with LSMW, we want to avoid using LSMW.
I tried with MEMASSQR. But 'deletion indicator' field is not available in the field list.
Is there any method through which I can carry out mass deletion of PR?

Go to SM30 enter the table MASSFLDLST
then create the new entry object type = BUS2105
Table name = EBAN Field:- "EBAKZ" (Purchase requisition closed)
Then run MEMASSRQ and select this field and then PRs after tnat on next page you will get option like film:- carry out mass changes go ahead with it.
But strangelly, it doesnt appear in the memassrq... any idea?

Stock report in alternative UoM

Hi we are maintaining the stock of our FG in PCs as a base UoM . But our sales and distribution dept needs a sotck in alternative UoMs also
Eg 10 Pc = 1 Box , and 120 Box = 1 Case likewise
They needs the stock in Boxes and cases also
I have maintained conversion in Material Master , but I do not find any report which shows me these alternative UoMs
Please tell me is there any such report available

Hi Bhushan,
You will have to go in for Z report. In MB51 you can see only by movement type & also Unit of Entry & Base UoM.
In MMBE per material, you can change the UoM & see the stocks, but this will be material by material & not for a range of materials.
Read the data from MARD, MARM tables & also if you're maintaining special stocks, refer to MSPR, MCHB etc.

Planing in COPA in alternative UoM

Hi all,
a question : Is it possible to plan in COPA in alternative UoM.The stock keeping unit is EA, but unfortunately the planning department wants to plan in KG. Conversion between the UoM's is maintained in Material master.The project itself is a roll-out and COPA is pre-configured. There is 2 value fields in the operating concern that can store the data for volume in those two UoM
Also I saw in TC KEDR , that a step" Clear " is customized to clear all the postings in the value field where KG volumes are posted.From conditions there i remove the our company code, but w/o any success. Whatever I have posted to the KG value field without any conversion is moved / reposted in value field for EA.
Can you help me with this.

Hi Maria
In my opinion, you should not remove the entry of your company code from KEDR
In the conditions, you should put condition as "BUKRS <> XXXX", where XXXX = your company code... This means, the derivation step will run only if the company code is Not Equal to Your company code

UOM conversion not big enough

Hey All,
I have a strange requirement. The numerator field UMREZ for UOM conversion is of 5 digits, which means the max value can be 99999. We have a need to do a Alterante UOM conversion which is greater than 5 digits.
Example: 1 PAL = 200000 EA.
How do I acheive this?
We are looking into all possible options.
First is thru config to create an intermediate UOM so that we can do two UOM conversions and acheive our result, but this is also going to be a big change.
Is there any other option through code to increase the length of this field, or any other alternative.
I tried searching and looking for OSS notes, but no luck.
Any input is highly appreciated.

Thank you for your replies. For a moment I thought this might be an option, but the problem here is not that the quantity is too large. but that the conversion factor is too large.
Let me explain again.
I have one unit which has the following conversion.
1 Pallet = 3000000 Eaches.
Numerator = 3000000 "here is the problem, numerator field is only 5 digits
Denominator = 1
which means if i get say even 100 pallets as input it have to convert
100 X 3000000/1 = 300000000. "the problem is UMREZ (3000000) is too big for that field
So here i cannot use any preconversion or post conversion.
BUT if i do think in the same line i can try to use a multiplication factor for that particlar unit of measure which i can just multiply at the end. I can maybe look to incorporate this in an enhancement when the UOM conversion is done. But I still have to figure out how to display it in the material master. Let me investigate more into this option.
Any other suggestion as welcome.

UOM Conversion for Catalogs

We are on Global Catalog Implementation.For a global catalog, we have US users, for certain items there UOM is gallons, for the same items, the european users want in liters
can we do the UOM conversion with the OCI Interface BADI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER
Is this the correct BADI.we have other option like creating again a seperate catalog for certain set of users.
Which is Best Pratice.

You can use the BADI <b>/CCM/CHAR_VALUATION</b> to create, change, or delete the values assigned to catalog characteristics before they are written to the database, or after they have been read from the database. You can modify both static characteristics and customer-specific characteristics.

APO SNP Planning Book Show Product View alternative UoM

Hi,
I have a base UoM of BTL and an alternative UoM of CAS.
I can change/save in my users settings the in transactions /SAPAPO/RRP3 (Product View) and /SAPAPO/SDP94 (Planning Book) to show the alternative UoM CAS as default.
The problem I have is when I enter the Planning Book, load a product, right click on the product (in Selected Objects), select Show Product View and then look at the stock tab, this always shows as the base UoM BTL. Can this be saved to show the alternative UoM CAS?

Try changing you user settings for a product in RRP3 Screen.
Page Menu --> Settings -->General Tab -->General Panel -->enter AUOM value (CAS in your case).
Note - The conversion only takes place for the products, for which the alternative unit of measure entered is also entered as the alternative unit of measure in the product master, or for the products, for which the base unit of measure has the same dimension as the alternative unit of measure.
Caution: Test it , how its affecting for other products which doesnt have CAS as AUOM.
All products which have BUOM as BTL will be changed to CAS when AUOM is maintained for them in product master.

UoM conversion error while loading Material Master

Hi,
Our Legacy system is also SAP (lower version) and we're trying to move the data to ECC6.0. We're using MATMAS_MASS_BAPI03 to move Material master records.
All the Alternative UoM to be moved with 'no change'. Everything gets moved except for LBs and FT3s and we get message 'UoM Conversions are inconsistent'.
I entered LBs, for example, online in the new system and found that conversion factors (NUmerator and Denominator) were indeed different.
Legacy LB: Numerator - 4756 and Denominator - 65113
New System LB: Numerator - 2564 and Denominator - 35103
If you have noticed, we will get the same result if you divide Numerator by Denominator.
Note: KG values were same in the both systems without any issue.
What should we do to get it right?

While loading attributes U have to select the transfer structure of the 0MATERIAL_ATTR then activate it..now proceed if it is already replicated in to BW system... other wise first do that..then go ahead....Similar to Text also...

Want to mass-delete an object

I have a 700 page document that has thick rule objects I wish to mass-delete. I am putting them on master pages for consistency and to isolate them to their own layer. The ones I wish to delete are all locked, but are inconsistently positioned.
The Find/Change dialog provides for finding objects that meet certain criteria, but I see no option to DELETE the found object, just to CHANGE it. I realize there is a certain amount of danger in such an option, but If I were to change the objects to some unique color before subsequently searching on that color and deleting them all, that would be a kind of safety step.
As a safer alternative to deleting the objects automatically, I would like the option to move these found objects to their own layer, so that I could just delete the entire layer after reviewing what was placed there.
Can this kind of mass deletion or mass movement to another layer be done?
