Mass Download/Extract of BW Master Data Documents

Hello
I am looking for a solution to enable a mass extraction of Master Data Documents on a nightly basis.
Basically we are storing documents against materials in R/3 using CV03n, we are then using the Mass Upload Program to load these into BW on a nightly basis and store them against the master data as a document.
The documents will be used for reporting internally, but there is also a requirement to extract this on a nightly basis to external sources as a csv file to be used as an internet feed.
Does anybody know of a program or FM which will allow this, or any other way of extracting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Manfred,
Unfortunately the documents are stored independently of the info-object so you can't use an infospoke to extract the data.
Also it looks as though the document is not physically stored in a table on BW, only links to the document name and properties.

Demo - Extraction of Customer Master Data from SAP R/3 ECC6 to MDM5.5

I am new to MDM . Would appreciate if someone can give a solution to the below request.
We are doing a demo project in our Company to extract all the master data related to SALES cycle. We are doing an extraction of Customer Master Data. Currently we have the unlicensed version of MDM and very soon we will get the licensed version.
We have the Customer Master Repository created in MDM Console. The IDOC type we are using is DEBMDM05.
Is there a easy way to map the fields of IDOC to the MDM Repository. Right now we are doing a manual process of comparing the IDOC fields and MDM Repo in an excel but this is tedious and time consuming.
Can anyone suggest an easier way to identify so that we know which fields match correctly.

Hi Leena,
First of all you have 2 options to generate IDOCs from SAP R/3 system
1.mdmgx>one IDoc per record
2.mdm_clnt_extr>for generating single IDoc having entire set of records.
Secondly,if you want to get the data mapped automatically,you should use standard maps provided by SAP(Business Content).
If at all you have created new fields then you should manually map those fields.

Extraction of certain master data not working

Hi, we are on BI7 and some of the BC masterdata extractions are not working correctly. Some masterdata working fine, consequently communication between systems working, but some master data fields e.g. 0co_area, 0chrt_accts and more are not working fine. Get this on 3.x and new datasources.
The data does get pulled through but the upload just never goes green, and keeps running. If one look at the batch jobs (SM37) in the appropriate source system, it keeps on going until it is manually stopped.
I am only experiencing this problem with data pulled through from the production system - I am pulling it through to my testing and production box, but fails in both, where all other ECC systems are fine.
In the monitor there is a warning and the following is the details of the monitor:
Overall status: Missing Messages or warnings
   Requests (messages): Everything OK (green)       Data request arranged (green)
       Confirmed with: OK (green)
   Extraction (messages): Missing messages (yellow)
       Data request received (green)
       Data selection scheduled (green)
       Missing message: Number of sent records (yellow)
       Missing message: Selection completed (yellow)
   Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Missing messages or warnings (yellow)
       Request IDoc: Application document posted (green)
       Info IDoc 1 : Application document posted (green)
       Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Selected number does not agree with transferred n (yellow)
       Info IDoc 2 : Application document posted (green)
   Processing (data packet) : Everyting OK (green)
       Inboun Processing (32 records) : No errors (green)
       Update PSA (32 records posted) : No errors (green)

Thanks, for the responses. The appropriate Idocs work fine with transaction BD87. I looked in SM58 earlier during the course of the day and there was no error, just checked again (8PM) and found some entries with error texts for BW background user - 6 errors within 10 seconds. Something to do with 'ERROR REQU... PG# IN 1' - do not have authorisation at this moment to check the specific requests, but not sure if the master data extractions would have caused these.
In the job log for the problematic jobs, only 1 IDoc get created, unlike the other succesful ones that have 3 IDocs (not sure if this means anything)

How to handle/extract Hierarchies in master data from R3

Hi Experts!!!
Iu2019m currently working on HR Implementation project and this is my first project. Implementation is being done in BI 7.0 and ECC 6.0. I have some queries regarding the extraction of master data from R3 as furnished below.
1. By default all the datasources are in 3.x technology and Iu2019ve migrated all the datasources with export and successfully performed InfoPackages and DTPS into their respective InfoObjects/Data targets. But when it comes to the masterdata datasources with hierarchies, Iu2019m unable to migrate them as there is no MIGRATE option in the context menu. When I tried to create infopackage, it asked me to create Transfer rules first and perform InfoPackage. Is it mandatory to work in 3.x technology (Transfer rules/ Update rules) in case of master data hierarchies? In this case how to handle datasources with hierarchies?
2. Is it required to have any data staging component like DSO while extracting master data datasources from SAP R/3 to their respective InfoObjects (Data targets)?? Or can I directly schedule Infopackage and DTP directly into the InfoObject with out any DSOS in between for HR master data??

all DataSource that are created in BI 7.0 are new design, master data attribute, text and transaction DataSource can all be created in the new BI 7.0, but for hierarchy DataSource, it remains as 3.X, if you double click on the Hier DataSource, you will see the title "...Emulated 3.X ...", so the DataSource should be working perfectly fine except it is in "Modified" version, i believe it is just SAP has not or can't a way to upgrade hier DataSource.
Also,
RSDS doesnt support hierarchy datasources in BI 7.0. So we cannot use transformations and DTP with hierarchy. So it is very similar to the way we used to load it in 3.x.

ALE delta extract for HR master data

We want to create some R/3 delta extracts based on the HR PA* tables using the ALE delta extract function of generic extractor. Has anyone done this before? Are there any OSS notes or documents that I should look at? Thanks!

This is very old message. I think your problem must be solved. If it is not then: yes we can extract Data from R/3 with ALE Delta .
You have to perform below steps.
1.     In your Table you need to activate ALE change   pointer.
2.     Create change documents for required table.
3.     Created Generic Extractor with ALE Delta.

Mass Upload Documents for Master Data in BI 7.0

Can anyone confirm that the 'How To' document for uploading mass documents is still valid in BI 7.0 SP 15 (it was stated for 3.0B SP7) or suggest another way to do this?
The business requirement is to upload numerous image files as BW: Physical Class Master Data documents for 0MATERIAL. It would need to also set the Log.Doc.Property of Document Type = value.

This code does work in BI 7.0 SP 16, with a small alteration.

GL account master data download

Hi Experts,
I want to download the GL account master data from Quality(testing) system and i want to upload the same into Development system via LSMW as the number of GL account master data is more. Can anybody tell me how can i download the gl account master data? so that my uploading work will be easy.

Go to path : Accounting -->Financial Accounting -->General Ledger -->Master Records -->G/L Accounts -->Collective Processing -->OB_GLACC11 - Chart of Accounts Data / OB_GLACC12 - Company Code Data / OB_GLACC13 - Descriptions click on OB_GLACC11 or OB_GLACC12
And enter give company code and Execute (F8) click on Select all records click on Print button and click on List > Save / send>File an select Spreadsheet and enter and save the excel sheet and upload through LSMW

Master data extraction issue

i am extracting project systems master data from ECC6 to BI...
initially i m doing delta update followed by init ............
the problem is ...whenever i m updating my data target its updating with new data records ,
but in RSA7 i m not able to see records in total...................
is not possible to see the delta records in RSA7 for masterdata?

No, you cannot see individual records in the delta queue (RSA7). The number that you see against your data source in the delta queue is for LUws (logical unit of work) which might contain anywhere from 10-10000 records.
Also I do not understand how you can do a delta followed by init. The actual order of loading is Init first and the Delta requests follow.

R/3 Master Data Extraction from Function Module

R/3 Master Data Extraction Using Function Module

Hi Experts,
Could you please let me know why & How (Detail procedure) to extract R/3 master data using function module.
My team manager asked me to extract master data from R/3 for 3 more attributes of info object '0material' which is already defined as data target.

The steps for creating extractor using Function Module. I
1. Create new Function group (if you have already not done so) in Se80
2. Copy Function module "RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE" with suitable name.
3. Change the code that populate data.
Following table may give you the guideline for parameters.
Parameter Description
I_REQUNR (import) BW provides this request identifier. It is a system-generated identifier in the form REQU_XXXXXX. BW uses this same identifier in all function module calls that relate to a single load.
I_DSOURCE (import) The name of the generic extractor
I_MAXSIZE (import) The maximum number of records that BW expects to be in each data packet
I_INITFLAG (import) A Boolean flag that indicates if this is the initialization (first) call to the function module
I_READ_ONLY (import) A test flag not needed in most extraction scenarios
I_T_SELECT (table) This table holds any selections from the BW InfoPackage. The function module should examine these selections and only return data that matches the selections.
I_T_FIELD (table) This table holds the fields that BW requests
E_T_DATA (table) The function module fills this table with data records. These records then return to BW as data packets. This table has the same structure as the extract structure defined in the generic DataSource.
NO_MORE_DATA (exception) The function module raises this exception when no more data is available
ERROR_PASSED_TO_MESS_HANDLER (exception) The function module raises this exception if an error occurred during the extraction. It alerts BW to check for error logs.

PM Master Data Extraction

Hi All,
We have requirement where customer want to extract the PM Master Data relevant for some Plants and upload into another SAP system. Since the Plants have sold to another company. We need provide a SAP PM Master data since the company which purchased the plants also using the SAP.
I need details Function Module or any other source from which I can extract the following setails:
All data relevant to equipment master
All data relevant to functional location
All data relevant to Work Center
All data relevant to BOM
All data relevant to Task list
All data relevant to Maintenance Item
All data relevant to Maintenance Plan

Master data Extraction in BI7.0

Hello Gurus,
I am new to BI 7.0. I would like to know the steps of Master data extraction from ECC 6.0. to BI 7.0 I tried but as the transformation is different than BW3.5 I am not sure what exactly to do. I was trying to extract 0PROFIT_CTR & 0CO_AREA Master data..... Any other Master data example would be fine to. If anybody could explain in simple steps the above process, would be appreciated. Points will be awarded.

Routines can be added in Transformation step -6
1. Create the infoobjects you might need in BI
2. Create your target infoprovider-Infoobject
3 Create a source system
4. Create a datasource or use replicated R/3 datasource
5. Create and configure an Infopackage that will bring your records to the PSA
6. Create a transformation from the datasource to the Infoprovider
7. Create a Data Transfer Process f(DTP) rom the datasource to the Infoprovider
8. Schedule the infopackage
9. Once succesful, run the DTP to get data from PSA to Infoobject
10. Check Infoobject for data

LSMW-Uploading G/l master Data

Hello,
we are migrating Data from R/3 4.6 to ECC 6.0.We need all the G/l from 4.6 exactly same way in ECC 6.0 without new G/l features.
Please let me which table I should use to extract g/l master data (SKA1or SKB1) from 4.6.I am going to do recording with Tcode FS00 at the time of uploading.
