Mass release of Physical Samples

Hi Gurus,
Is there any T code for Mass release of Physical samples. We are in cutover and for around 1000 Open inspection lots, we need to release the physical Samples. It will be labourious to release every sample using QPR4.
Tried LSMW, SHDB but the release is not getting recorded. Is there any other way for releasing physical samples in mass?

check box is Confirmation req. Please remove this check box.

Release of physical samples

Dear SAP Experts,
I have created inspection lot for a material with movement type 101 against a Purchase order in developmet client. I have attached inspection plan to it. In inspection plan sampling procedure & sample drawing procedure are used. According to it Sample calculation is also done. Now the inspection lot is in released status. When I go for result recording system does not allow me for result recording. When I investigate, I observe that the physical samples (both primary & pooled) are in CRTD status. They are not in result status thats why system does not allow the result recording. Please note that I have not used any user status which may prohibit release of physical samples.
I think, after releasing the lot, physical samples must automatically have release status. Is my assumption correct?
If not how the physical samples can have release status automatically?
Kindly help in this regard. Your valuable help is appriciated.

Result Recording without release of physical sample

Hi,
    SAP Gurus,
    I have one query regarding result recording for some lots.
   I have created one sample drawing procedure and assigned to inspection plan.
   In SDP I have maintained primary size factor 1, Fixed number 1, Acc.to smplng scheme-PM, Insp. severity-4.
   In pooled sample size factor 1, Fixed number 1.
At header level Consider No. of Containers Tick, Confirmation Required Tick, Used in Task List Tick.
I have done One GR for raw material and assigned that inspection plan to the created 01 origin 01through QA02.
One primary and pooled sample is created in CRTD status. I have not release the sample.
When I go to QE11 for result recording system assigns the physical sample by default and branch me direatly to the result recording screen.
My query is that, i have acivated confirmation required tick in SDP then system should not accept the sample which is in created status and should not allow me to do result recording. But system is skiping this and allowing me to do Result recording.
Please let me know what necessary settings i have forgot.

               The scenario i mapped is that, I need to release the sample manually. User should not go for RR without sample release.
It is working fine also. But for few lots it is not asking the sample release. It ir skiping the sample status stage and directly going to RR.
Please let me know way system is behaveing like this for few lots only.

Confirm Physical-Sample Drawing

Hello,
Are there any other way to release a physical-sample drawing other than QPR4? I'm trying to release a physical sample however I encounter this error "Physical-sample drawing ###### was not confirmed. Call the program "Process physical-sample drawing" and confirm the physical-sample drawing ########."
QPR4 is fine when releasing it manually, but what I'm trying to do is having it in BDC, and since QPR4 is in ALV format it is not supported in BDC. That's why I'm looking for an alternative way to confirm the drawing.

Three Physical Samples withdraw from inspection lot 04 and then result record for all three

Dear Gurus,
We have 3 quality labs and each lab is sent a separate samples to inspect certain characteristics once we receive material from production. I have created an inspection plan and mapped these three labs as work center in operation and then assigned MICs under each operation to inspect.
Now my issue is how to map separate 3 samples to inspection lot generated from production ( type-4) and also how to configure that to inspection plan.
I have to result record for all these three physical sample as withdrawn from Lot based upon inspection plan as mentioned above.
I can mention sample drawing procedure in inspection plan but how to map actual sample there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Satish
You are creating three operation for depicting three testing Labs.
Against each lab (operation) you had assigned MICs as per your requirement.
Now you have to assign a SDP along with inspection point type 200 for physical sample in task list.
After prod confirmation system will create inspection lot along with a sample by default for 1st operation.
For other operations you have to create samples manually referring the same inspection lot (QPR6).Remember to click ' Create Insp points' and mention operation.
Release the samples in QPR4.
Now when you go for result recording system would ask first for operation, so select the operation , then system will ask for insp point (sample no).There click on assign insp point , so system will provide the Sample no which were created in QPR6 for that particular operation.
Please follow the steps and revert.

QM - Record Results for Physical Sample

Hi Gurus!
We are working with sample drawing procedure and when the inspection lot is generatee the physical samples are created too. So, when I record result for one of them and I try to UD the system shows me all characteristics like pending for other phisical samples that I didn´t record the results. I mean, I would like to record just one phisical sample of them. I was wondering if you could inform me there is any way to do it? I am working in release 5.0 from SAP

If you only want to record values on one sample why are you creating a sample drawing procedure that requires more? If you don't use them but just collect them, set them up as reserve samples.

Display of Qual Characteristics in QE03 for Physical Samples

Hi All,
I am using result recording with physical samples.
I am able to record Qualitative characteristics through transaction QE01. When i want see these "qualitative characteristics" in QE03 screen, just an icon appears in the "results" coulmn in RR screen. (Code & Code Texts missing)
Why is this so?? When I go back & see in QE01, I can see the Qual Values.
Require some pointers to address this issue.

Transaction code for mass creation of physical Inventory document

what is the transaction code for mass creation of physical Inventory document.

MI31 is the transaction to create hundreds of physical inventory documents for annual inventory at a time.
MICN can create several documents at a time for cycle count.
Just look in the menu of phyiscal inventory into the knot Sessions, there are even more e.g. for counting of own stock a customer and vendor location, for vendor stock at own location etc.

Mass release of an order for an existing batch

At my client we are currently facing an issue on CO05N whenever releasing an order on an SKU for which the production batch already exists.
Log. General -> Batch Management -> Creation of new batches -> Define batch creation for production order / Process order
=> In our set up production batch is created automatically at PO and batch classification is carried out in background.
For SKU A we use poduct expiration date as the batch number, for this reason if i happen to plan two production orders on two production lines for the same SKU (say PO#1 will start at 1am on Line 1 and PO#2 will start at 5 am on Line 2). When i launch mass release with CO05N, PO#1 will be released normally but PO#2 will not be released and error message will mention "Batch 2012.04.09 for material 13917 in plant 2401 already exists" (Message no. M7838).
If i enter CO02 for PO#2 and release from there, the batch from PO#1 is selected and PO is released upon saving.
Scenario : 2 PO for which GR will be done on the same batch (created at PO release)
Both PO are released through CO05N
Step 1 : PO#1 released -> Batch created
Step 2 : PO#2 release begins -> Error appear since batch ALREADY exists from Step 1.
This does not happen if you try to release PO#2 from CO02.
Is there a way to replicate this behaviour on mass release process ?
If not could you give functional insight on SAP designs on this specific points ?

Sorry it was mistake posting.
Any way for that (PO) material assign automatic batch determination method and then flag it in material master and then do the GR.

Physical sample is to keep the sample of a product till its shelf life expiry date. E.g. In case of any shelf life applicable product, the inspected sample will be retained till its expiry date. If any customer complaints are received, on inspecting the complaint, result may be compared with the existing physical sample.
In SAP, Material master should have inspection type 15.
To create physical sample, sample drawing procedure has to be created and attached to the header of inspection plan. With this set up when the lot is created, physical sample will also be created. Result recording should be done for physical sample. Physical sample storage information has to be updated through transaction code QPR2

You can use : BAPI_BATCH_CREATE
it has import paramaters like Material, Plant , batch , Batch Attributes ( Vendor No, Vendor Batch etc)... I guess this is what you are looking for.

Inspection type 01 and physical samples

I have scenario like this
My raw material is avtivated inspection type 01 and 15 (For physical sample)
as GR done inspection lost was created of 01 type and it was workin fine
now when ever vendor delivery a new item with a slight changes for existing material (So material number will not change)
So as GR done inspection lot was created, But for this inspection lot i need system treat as a physical sample (normaly creating by using QPR1)
to achive this what are the things i need to do
Pls tell me the details step with process

my scenario is
when ever vendor deliver any sample we need to recored it and keep a database with all inspection details
some times vendor will deliver the sample in po with zero value
so can you pls tell me how i can map this scenario

Physical Samples in QM-IDI

Hi,
how is the physical sample handled in QM-IDI ?
In 'QAIMV' there is a field called 'PHYSPROBE' with a length of 6,
but in transaction QPR4 the field Physical Sample' is longer than 6.
How are these field related ?
