Mass update master pages

version 7 - I have MANY pages that are booked. I just want to find a way to easily update the master pages all at once.

You might have overrides (i.e. the text frames have been extended/shortened), additional graphic frames, etc. on your pages.
If you use Format > Page Layout > Master Page Usage option to force FM to use the newly imported Right/Left master pages and you're not seeing any changes, check to see what the pags called "Right" and "Left" actually contain and if they match what you were importing. These two pages are reserved names that FM uses automatically. If the imported Master pages that you wan to use have different names, then you have use the "Custom" option and apply it using the required specifications of Odd/Even, numbered or named master page.

Mass update - Master receipe

hello,
As far as I go thru online, I dont see any std tcode to do the mass change for master recipe..I saw CEWB works only for routing and inspection plans...also I saw CAA5 ..not sure this one would work.
I need to just change the status in receipes...any tcode to accomplish this ?

Mass update of product master (lock material record)

Hi! Does anyone know of any program that I can use to carry out mass update of product master in SRM? I am specifically looking at locking the materials. I originally intended to use LSMW and create a recording for it. However, the recording didn't work - when I clicked on the open button so that I can key in the product id, it returns back to the recording / LSMW transaction with the screen data. I did not even have a chance to proceed further.
Any idea would be appreciated.

How your SRM PO will reflected ( indeed really creates in ECC i.e copy of srm PO).

can you create a SC for local material and order a successful PO ?
i know there is a product check in catalog web services - in SRM product master not necesary but your ECC must have material master right..

can any one plz tell me the process of mass updation of material master charecteristics such as classification name, classification type,charecteristics name, charecteristics value for the given materials.
give me some brief overview so that i can proceed on that.
I have to use either BAPI or IDOC only.

Mass update of email in the vendor master record

Hello to you all,
Does anyone know how can I run mass update of email in the vendor master record for a big No. of entities?
XK99 won't help since you can't find the email,
Batch input recording won't help as well since the email can't be found.
I will appreciate your help,

Hello Amir,
You can use LSMW for update operation. You should create a batch input recording for transaction FK02. But you must tick "Use central address management" checkbox on FK02 screen while recording batch input. After that you will see E-mail field on screen.

Formatted master pages don't auto update in multipage indd doc. When a page is added/removed, folios and rules remain in right page orientation even if they've just become left hand pages, and vice versa. Forced to keep taking the additional steps of applying master to pages which is incredibly annoying/did not use to happen.

Mass Vendor master Payment method update

Hi All
Mass vendor master payment method update, is there any other alternative solution to update the new payment method in Vendor master. Normally we need to assign new payment method in Vendor master one by one instead of mass vendor master payment method update. Please help me to resolve the issue.

I tryed to assign the new payment method in MASS transaction code and new value is updated but existing payment method has deleted. We need to maintain the previous payment method along with new payment method. Please provide me the necessary solution.

Service master mass update

Hi All,
We have issue in which while creating Service master, wrong unit of measure was used.
Now to correct this, we need to do mass update of these service masters created.
Is there any way in to do this. Any program that SAP has which would solve this probelm.

Master Page Bugs? Won't Update Changes or Apply New Page Correctly.

I've been working with master pages for our new project templates and have found what appears to be several big problems:
1. When I make changes in the Master Page (.htt file), none of those changes propogate to the topics that have been assigned this same Master Page. Shouldn't it do this?
2. As an alternative, I tried applying a Master Page to multiple topics in the Topic List pod. The first problem with that is that you cannot apply the existing Master Page. So, I had to create a fresh Master Page with my changes, then tried applying it. However, several problems occur. Firstly, none of the new Master Page formatting appears correctly. Secondly, for some reason it is duplicating breadcrumbs at the top of the page (each of the Master Pages, before and after only had one breadcrumb). It seems to have combined some of the formatting from both before and after Master pages.
I should also note that when I apply the Master Page with any changes to a new topic, it does work correctly.
I have read the documentation thoroughly and feel I am doing this correctly. The problem seems to be that the functionality doesn't work as promised. I see this as a grave problem. Our templates are likely to change with time, and I need the ability to apply changes en masse.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?

First, you must understand that Master Pages are used in two completely different ways. Sounds like you are making changes to the Body Placeholder of the Master Page and expecting to see those changes influence the topics linked. Sorry, but that has never worked.
So here are the two ways Master Pages are designed to work in RoboHelp.
Method 1 - Used to infuence EXISTING content.
Perhaps you have created 1,000 topics and you now wish to add a Header, Footer or both to these existing topics. You define a Master Page and add a Header, Footer or both to the Master Page and You associate it with the topics. All those topics now have a Header and/or Footer. Any changes to the Header and/or Footer are populated across all linked topics.
Method 2 - Used to influence NEW content you create.
Perhaps you know that you will be creating many topics that should have the same look and feel. Maybe each of them begin with a table containing an image and some text. So you define a Master Page and configure the Body placeholder as you wish to see it. When you create new topics, you point to the Master Page so that as the topics are created, the Body content of the Master Page is populated into the topic as a starting off point. Once the topic has been initially created, changes to the Master Page ARE NOT reflected in the topics. This works identically to making a copy of a document. The copy looks identical to the original. And any changes to the original will never be copied over to the copy. Only NEW copies will receive the changes.
As far as the Breadcrumbs go, you likely have GLOBAL Breadcrumbs enabled in the Single Source Layout recipe. This means that every topic gets Breadcrumbs during the process of creating the output. If you are trying to employ SELECTIVE Breadcrumbs by adding the PlaceHolder to the Master Page, you need to disable the GLOBAL Breadcrumbs in order to prevent seeing double.

MASS Article Master reorder point update thru program

The BAPI to change Article Master is BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT. Can you please let me know if there is any BAPI which i can use for MASS update of articles instead of calling the above BAPI in a Loop. My purpose is to mass udpate reorder point for articles.

You can use the transaction MASS_MARC to do this.
Remember you can only change reorder point of the articles already on replenishment using this transaction.

MM17 Mass Update Tool for Material Master.

We have an appended material master field which was earlier added to the material master.
Now we want to add it as an update field into MM17 Mass Update Tool. But don't know how to do it. Please help.

We are not still able to add that field as 'material updation field' in the field pool. Yes it is a Z field, and the concerned table name is MARC.
The SAP version is 4.6 C. We tried to find SAP Note and found one 576160. But it may not work. Could you please advice further ?
We want to add that field into the field pool which appears on clicking the "Select fields" tab.

Updating master/detail pages

Student developing a website for a project using
dreamweaver8/php/mysql
Have used master/detail pages in my content mngt system, but
would like to use the detail page to modify the data displayed and
then use the update server behaviour. I don't seem to be able to
create a detail page that allows text modification to the data
displayed. Have been using the DreamweaverMX 2004 book as my bible
but it doesn't do what I'm trying to achieve and clearly I'm
missing something. Any ideas?

What you should probably do is create an "update" page that
has a form that
holds all of your fields, etc, and apply the update record SB
to the page.
The "master" page should have a link to the "detail/update"
page that passes
a unique value - I usually use the "go to detail page" SB...
but that is not
in DW8 by default for PHP. It's there for ASP, but I have no
idea why they
didn't include it for PHP. If you go to www.felixone.it you
can find his PHP
Missing Tools extension - grab it and install it! This will
give you the "go
to detail page" SB. Then on the "detail/update" page, make
sure your
recordset is set to match the value being passed to it from
the "master"
page. Hopefully this makes sense to you.

Custom HTML Master Page not updating when activating Feature via PowerShell

I created a WSP to deploy a HTML Master Page. I later have code that will publish this Master Page to create a .master, but I stripped this out just to simplify things. My issue is with the first step - getting the HTML Master Page file to
update by activating the feature using PowerShell. I don't understand why it's not working - I'm not even using this Master Page currently. Plus, oddly the master page does update if I go into the UI and deactivate/activate my feature.
I can easily reproduce this problem using the following steps:
1. Created a SharePoint Empty Project named SharePointProject1
2. Added a Module named Module1
3. Added a HTML Master Page called MyMaster.html and updated the elements.xml file for the Module1 with the following:

The second link isn't applicable for me because I'm not setting the Master Page for the site collection just yet. I'm just trying to get the version to be correct in the master page library first.
For the first link, I am trying to publish a Master Page, not a Page Layout. I did try adding some similar code that I found from this article,

but the same result. PowerShell is still copying an old version of the file to the Master Page Gallery, but the activating/deactivating the feature in the UI works fine.

Master Page updated , but changes are visible only for that Page(site) alone ?

I updated v4.master in SharePoint designer to add a bread crum navigation control

I always thought master page edits will be visible in all sites of a site collection,
Am i going wrong some where (My site collection has about 30-35 sites, and new sites are created every now and then )

If the publishing features are turned on then the master pages for all the sites in the site collection are pulled from the master page gallery of the root site. But if Publishing hasn't been enabled then each site uses the v4.master in its own master
page gallery. It sounds like you haven't enabled the Publishing Infrastructure site collection feature and Publishing Site Feature in the root site of your site collection.
