Massive amounts of email missing

I keep basically all of my email, and I've recently noticed that there are entire years of email missing from the folder I created to archive my email. The biggest is a gap of three years where there is no email at all from that time period. What has happened to it? I have tried rebuilding the folder, no luck, then I tried breaking it up into smaller folders then rebuilding the original folder, no luck. Recent mail is missing also. Spotlight does not find it. Can anyone help?

But I need to keep them on my computer. Or, are you saying that, once they've been downloaded to the Powerbook G4 and iPhone 4, if I delete them on webmail, they'll disappear from my iPhone?
I think my experience has been that, if I delete my road runner webmail emails, it has no effect on e mail already downloaded to my MPB or iPhone 5s.
I read a nifty-sounding 'trick' for deleting piles of email on an iPhone, but the tipper said not to try it on massive amounts or it would freeze up the iPhone. You check the top email (which activates the 'Move' button so it becomes clickable). Then holding the Move button, unclick the top email and wait, holding down 'Move' (while, seemingly, nothing's happening). Once all the email has been moved, you are presented with a screen with the option to move the moved mail to trash. I'll attach a screenshot of that screen, showing what happened just now to all the (16) emails presently on this iPhone 5s...

  • How to delete massive amounts of email on iPhone

    Hi. I have over 1500 emails in an earthlink.net email account on an iPhone running iOS 8.1 and want to mass-delete all but the last 3 months — say 120 emails. Is there a way to do this other than one-by-one manually?

    But I need to keep them on my computer. Or, are you saying that, once they've been downloaded to the Powerbook G4 and iPhone 4, if I delete them on webmail, they'll disappear from my iPhone?

  • A huge amount of businesses missing from Apple maps

    Hi all,
    I like so many other people am posting up about the new Apple Maps that have been forced upon us. I've been aware of the major mistakes on the news, ie misplaced towns and railway stations but I think there is a bigger problem that isn't being as well addressed. That is the massive amount of small scale data that is missing all together. Over the last two hours I've been testing a few places I know very well and had some really shocking results. I live in Sale (Manchester) and we are lucky to have lots of nice restaurants and coffee shops. Out of the six long established coffee shops only one appears on Apple maps! Out of all the many restaurants (40+) six appear. Also many businesses that are on the map with the icons Apple have used are in completely the wrong place.
    So I also did a search for pubs in a place called Longridge I know very well and out of the ten pubs one appears as a result but if you zoom in a further three can be seen using the icons. I have also noticed that the M60 doesn't have any junction numbers which made travelling to a venue on Saturday difficult, I ended up looking at Googlemaps through the safari browser but ofc it's now sluggish and difficult to use as its not integrated.
    So if Apple maps perform as bad as this across the UK then it's no even close to being as reliable as I'd need it to be, I just don't feel I can trust what it's telling me and that's the worst situation to be in when you rely on a map to get around so much.
    I am a huge fan of Apple products but am very aware they are not perfect, but even with the no flash support thing, you know there is a reason behind what they are trying to do. However for the first time in a long time I'm now wondering what the **** Apple are playing at. Surely they must know how bad this software is right? I would love to know how it all panned out, ie did Apple get pushed by Google or did they jump? I mean its just insane, Google Maps is already doing everything the customer want so why not carry on using them? Are Apple so stubborn that they would rather nobble every one of their loyal customers than hold hands with Google. I don't know, if anyone out there has any info on what actually happened here then please post up.
    As far as I can see Apple Maps is nowhere near ready (although the 3D cities are very nice) and so I'm really hoping they realise this isn't on.
    Cheers,
    Lee

    Nokia did the same mistake several years ago stop listening customers!
    Now apple is doing the same thing.. if the management has any common sense they will give people to option downgrade (old users) and option to choose between map google and apple maps...
    Challenge for apple maps....give your customer choice to choose between maps google and maps apple
    then make apple maps so much better that people want volunterily to choose to apple maps?
    Is this too much to ask?
    Apple are you realizing how much corporate customers you are forcing to move to android phone because of this?
    We want our maps google back!

  • Only receiving massive amounts of spam

    Help! My email is suddenly only receiving massive amounts of 'mail delivery failure' notices.
    I have run SOPHOS scan but nothing comes up. Unfortunately, I probably won't receive a reply.
    But if you have a solution, please try to send.
    Thanks

    Mac Mail, via who?   I think you should talk to your provider.  Your address could have been hacked and as Wzzz suggests you should check the strength of your password.
    But your provider should be able to confirm if there is any suspicious activity or if it is just a case of the settings.

If I do a search for emails that also checks the server then all of a sudden I end up with various amounts unread email with the inbox saying "Inbox 71" ..which is not true. The only way to make the inbox on the iphone back to 0 is to delete the account then re install it.
    Anyone have any ideas

  • Emails missing from Mail - can't access backups from Time Machine

    To my dismay both of my gmail accounts through the mail client will only show me emails from the last 30 days. I went to check gmail through Safari and the same story, I'm locked out of emails from before the last 30 days. This is not only on my Mac, but also on my iPad and iPhone.
    I attempted to go into Time Machine and do a restore, but the same thing is happening and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be. For some reason even when Time Machine pulls up my email backups I can see stuff from every year but 2013 and the beginning of 2014. It starts populating the backup to show me my emails, but nothing appears and I know those emails have to exist somewhere.
    Does anyone know if this is some kind of code error that caused this, or if there is anyway to get around it? Having an entire year's worth of emails missing is really problematic for me as you can expect. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

  • PI 7.1 IMAP email Adapter Error reading large amounts of emails

    Hi,
    are there any known problems with the email-Adapter (Sender), reading IMAP MS Exchange Server?
    We have an email adapter reading the MS Exchange Server Mail Account once per Minute and in the mail account are about 4.000 unread email  (1KB each) .
    After 2000 emails, the adapter stops working and throws only exceptions.
    Any idea?
    Thanks
    hs

    Hi Holger,
    i made a few tests at that time, and there was no specific scenario which re-produced this error.
    In some tests i was able to process more than 3000 emails before the error occured, next time only 2000.
    And this only occured when the inbox had a huge amount of emails. if i moved, lets say 1000 emails to a temporary folder,
    processed 1000 and then moved the 1000 back to the inbox, there was no problem. Now i'm polling every minute and i'm
    not receiving 2000 emails in a minute, so i'm not having this issue anymore. it only happend when we stopped the
    sender channel for a while and a lot of emails were queuing up in the inbox.  I don't think that there are any MS Exchange settings that need to be changed and when we spoke to Support that time, they refered to the Note i mentioned earlier.
    Maybe there is still a problem in the mail adapter itself..
    regards,
    Daniel

  • How do I get macmail to show amount of emails in my INBOX, as it used to do?

    I use macmail and with my INBOX, there used to be a total count of emails in there in parentheses after INBOX. I still have the amount listed in the sent, trash, delete sections, but it is not appearing after INBOX.  How do I get it to once again show the amount of emails?

    Double tap above the INBOX or ALL INBOXES and the list will advance automatically to the most recent email or the top of the email list.

    The guy at the Genius Bar has told you absolute and utter rubbish.  It is true that Apple has stopped supporting iWeb, but it definitely DOES NOT mean that your website will stop working any time soon.
    They should know that iWeb is an application on your Mac and as long as it is compatible with your OS - it works in Snow Leopard and Lion and will be compatible with the new Mountain Lion out this Summer, then you can still use it to build and maintain websites.
    As long as your are not publishing your site to MobileMe, then you are okay - if you are publishing to a local folder and then uploading to another host that is fine and your site will not be going anywhere in a hurry.
    You don't need to change software unless you really want to.

  • How to delete massive amount of duplicate songs in itunes library

    how do i EASILY delete a massive amount of duplicated dongs in my iTunes library

    Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
    Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
    Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
    (If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
    The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

  • Deleting large amount of emails locks up Mail?

    I have a local mailbox ("On My Mac") that has about 50000 messages, and I want to delete about half of them. Deleting messages is always very slow (tbh, doing anything in Mail is very slow), but when I try to delete more than 5000 messages at once, Mail simply locks up on me.
    I thought that it was just busy and would eventually come back, but I left it going overnight and came back to see it still locked up. So I force-quit and restarted it, only to find that none of the messages had been deleted or even moved to the trash. I guess deleting messages is an atomic process.
    So my question is, how can I delete a large amount of emails without locking up Mail and without manually sitting there deleting one, waiting 5 seconds for the app to start responding again, and delete another, 25000 times?

    I'm not surprised that dealing with so many messages chokes mail up.
    You can try deleting messages in chunks about 1000 at a time.
    also, you might want to try the following apple script.
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #ADD8E6;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    tell application "Mail"
    set mlist to selection
    repeat with msg in mlist
    delete msg
    end repeat
    end tell</pre>
    Paste the script into Script Editor, select the messages you wish to delete in Mail and press "Run" in script editor. the script works by moving messages one at a time so I hope it shouldn't choke Mail up. However, it will take a long time to run.

  • What is the most time efficient way to scan massive amounts of text data with LabVIEW?

    I am currently running an application that scans data in a text files for outliers.  After each file is scanned, statistics data stored in a database (if there are outliers); so at least the memory in the computer will not be eaten up.  In order to scan lines of data without killing the computer,  I put a 1 millisecond delay in the scanning loop.  I have massive amounts of data in thousands of files to scan.  Taking one milisecond per line of data is taking too much time.  At this rate, it will take over a WEEK to scan all the data!  Is there anything I can do to minimize the time per line scan?  If anybody knows, I need a solution.  If anybody thinks or knows there is NO solution, I need to hear that feedback too!

    I would use queue to pass the data to the processing task. You could put some intelligence in your file reading task to hold off reading a new file until the processing task has completely processing the data. However I suspect you should be able to process things fairly quickly. The suggestion to include a Wait 0 is a good one. You should always avoid writing repetitive tasks with no ability for the NI scheduler to perform a context switch. Though the various queue VIs allow the system to context switch if required.
