Massive lag on Xbox 360 for last 2 days after midn...
Hi for the last 2 nights around 12am i get massive lag on xbox 360. Even though i am signed into live i cant connect to game servers and if i do lag is unbearable. Thing is its perfectly fine until it gets to midnight and then its impossible to play anything. Checked xbox forums no probs there.
My exchange was upgraded 2 weeks ago, so dunno if their doing tests there after midnight? I live in the Wrexham area north wales, any suggestions why this is happening? Many thanks.
ps checked my speeds when this is happening and they are the same as when the problem is not there.
Sometimes after midnight, there will be a switch over to where you will be connecting to in terms of place, for ex America etc.
Places that are further away, which could be why you are experiencing more problems.

Is there any standard/business content variable available for this?
I have found one similar variable , but its for the posting date.

Dynamic Variable for last day of month
Hi all,
I have created one report where in YTD is calculated based on stsyem date. NOw in this report the cal month is in row thus displaying data month wise. But i need one key figure which giving the last day vaue of every month that are displayed in YTD i.e this is based on cal day. Thus the report layout is as follows:
if report is run in mar 2007 then it should display:
calmonth key figure due amount
Jan 07 this should show due value on last day of jan 07 (i.e 31st jan 07)
Feb 07 this should show due value on last day of feb 07 (i.e 28th feb 07)
Mar 07 this should show due value on last day of mar 07(i.e 31st mar 07)
customer exit variable can give me only one value at a time. How can I make it dynamic to take last day value of every month as per cal month. Could anybody explain me if worked on any such issue.

We can assign multiple single values to the customer exit.
So in the Query take CALMONTH in rows.
And take your KF in column with Customer exit variable restriction on CALDAY.
So in the code of this Cusotmer exit varible, from the Current date find out the year of the current date and then assign those 12 required days to this variable.

Here's one way:
SELECT TRUNC (SYSDATE, 'Q') - 1 AS prev_qtr_end
, ADD_MONTHS ( TRUNC (SYSDATE, 'Q') - 1
, 3
) AS this_qtr_end
FROM dual;TRUNC (dt, 'Q') returns the first day of the quarter containing dt.
Subtract one day from that, and you have the last day of the previous quarter.
Add 3 months to that, and you have the last day of the current quarter. ADD_MONTHS (dt, n) will always return the last day of a month if its first argument, dt, is the last day of a month. -
Been complaining about lag on xbox live for a year and Verizon is now ignoring me.
For the past year and a half I have been complaining to verizon about the horrible xbox live service I am getting. They keep telling me there is nothing wrong. I have tried four different routers(verizon and non-verizon with updated firmwares), tried both coax and ethernet, switched every ethernet line twice, played on a 5 foot cable in my garage, had my ont switched, and my fiber re-spliced. Verizon claims nothing is wrong and have tried to get me to stop complaining by telling me "fios is too fast for xbox because games are designed for high latency connections and because fios has no latency slower connections can't keep up so it feels laggy." I posted that response on a xbox gaming forum and promptly had 10 people tell me FIOS runs great on their xbox.
So obviously the problem lies beyond my network and verizon is doing nothing to fix it. I have had a technician come out at least six times and all they run is a speed test. I am getting the speed I am provisioned at but ALL my xbox live games are unplayable online. I believe the problem lies in the first public hop outside because when I run a line quality test,(https://secure.dslreports.com/pingtest) I get an error that says "50ms or more latency between your ip address and your first public internet hop could certainly be bettered with a quality connection"
Just to be sure it wasn't unique my house I walked around my neighborhood and found 2 open wifi networks that were on FIOS and ran the same test. Both of them came back with the same error as me and both had the same first hop as me. To make sure that error wasn't normal for FIOS users I asked those poeple on the xbox live forum to run the test and tell me the results. Every single one of them passed the first hop test and had nearly half the latency, (Here are a few of them) I supplied this information and now they are ignoring me.
Is there any mod or technician here that can provide me with contact information for someone who will look into and fix this problem for me? I believe I have provided significant proof that this problem is not in my network and calling an 800 number and opening a ticket does not help. I have been complaining for a year and a half and nothing has been done. I have lost practically all my xbox live friends because of this and would like to be able to play now that I have more free time. A phone number or email would be great. BTW I am in orange county, CA if that helps.

I realize this question has been asked in several places throughout this and other forums, however I have been unable to find an answer so far. I bought a PC at Best Buy after this promotion began back in May, however the sales team at this particular store never mentioned anything about this deal. I've only been made aware of it very recently, but I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information about whether this promotion was actually ever carried by Best Buy or not and how to take advantage of this offer.
Here's what I'd like to know:
1) Was this deal ever actually offered by Best Buy? If so what were the exact dates?
2) Assuming my purchase qualifies, is there a way I can still take advantage of this offer?

There are Post Graduate Institutions / Colleges and Universities, providing you are attending one of those colleges, that have deals set up with certain PC Manufacturers and able to get discounts. Ask your Counselor, Administration Office if they have such contract with a PC manufacturer or Computer Store (Retail or Online).
But you will not be able to obtain a Free X-Box like Best Buy had during their promotion.
Also the local Best Buy store Manager might be able to connect you to the Regional Manager to someone at HeadQuarters that could do something about it.

You can't. Homesharing allow to share your iTunes content over Apple's devices. XBox isn't made by Apple but Microsoft.

MB1,1 builtin iSight only works for 2 days after disassembly

Researched extensively and tried everything (SMC+PRM reset, boot into safe mode, different user account, installed another isight camera, reconnected the usb cable on the back of the camera, installed AppleUSBVideo kext) Nothing has helped.
However, when I take apart the MB, somehow it works after some disassembly (can't figure out exactly what makes it work). And works for about 2 days everytime before disappearing from the profile again.

Stuck at 0.25 Mbps for 16 days after line repair
Hello,
I am currently experiencing some very slow broadband speeds following repair of a line fault. I believe it is due to a banded profile, although I'm not an expert.
We had terrible noise on our telephone line. As you can imagine, our broadband was severely affected. The fault was repaired on 18th June and now the telephone line is nice and quiet.
However, the broadband has failed to recover. It's now been 16 days since the repair and I've been pulling my hair out. I was told I have to wait 10 days or more for the broadband to recover. Can anyone explain why this is necessary? Contractually am I obliged to suffer an extended period of low speed following a repair? I'm sitting here staring at a solid 32 dB SNR margin whilst paying BT for an unusuable broadband connection.
I have paid for a 3G Modem and SIM card because the BT Broadband is currently unusable. Has anyone ever had success in recovering these type of costs from BT?
Any advice appreciated. Speedtests and router stats below (Draytek Vigor 2830n).

Loop Attenuationi agree you are in a banded profile and need to stay connected 24/7 for 3/5 days and the banding should release and noise margin drop down to 12/15db with corresponding speed increase. You then to remain connected as noise margin drops probably in steps of 3db until it gets to normal 6db

It's very useless that I download this movie Bunraku never finish to watch this movie yesterday and it supposed to take 43 hours since you open it but it's not even 24 hours yet and I can't open it anymore????... It's 500 yen expensive movie and it takes 12 hours only and disappear ?

You need more local storage; free up space on iPad:

Wireless Airport Connection for XBox 360
There are several prior threads on this, and on the Micros**t board, but none resolve the issue - so here's hoping someone can help the father of a frustrated 15 year old (please, please!!).
Bottom line - my son got an XBox 360 for Christmas. We have an Airport Extreme network (with an Airport Express range booster down stream) for our home network. Cable modem with static IP. The XBox with its wireless networking adapter will recognize my home network (with WEP security) - it's located about 10 fet from the Extreme Base Satation, but the XBox will not connect. (We tried the XBox website's "set up wizard" to no avail; Microsoft simply says that Airports are not supported and they have no clue as to how to establish a connection with a non-PC).
I know an XBox 360 can join an Apple Airport Extreme wireless network because others have posted the result - but without any explicit instructions on how to do so (at least none that I can find).
I'm pretty Mac savvy, but don't want to get into doing terminal commands as I don't want to mess up any aspect of my home network (since I have an office there as well and can't afford to rebuild a network like I did last night for 6 hours when someone at Micro told me to change my Airporst security, which sent a ripple effect throgh my system to the point I lost all internet for hours).
So, if anyone can give me a set of "a, b, c ... 1, 2, 3 ..." set-up instructions on how to wirelessly get an XBox 360 to join an Airport Extreme network, you'll have certaintly done your good deed for the Holidays!

Xbox 360 trade in for Xbox 720
I recently purchased an Xbox 360 from the Paramus, NJ store. I was told by the sales associate that a new Xbox 720 should be on the market at some point in the next couple of years. He suggested that I purchase the Best Buy extended warranty because once the Xbox 720 comes out I could trade in my Xbox 360 for my CURRENT PURCHASE PRICE of $200 if my Xbox 360 is still under warranty and I am purchasing the Xbox 720. This sounded like a great deal and I purchased to extended warranty, but the associate was unable to show me anything in writing that confirms this. Is this true or was the associate mistaken? I know that I can trade in the Xbox 360 under the normal trade-in program, but I dont see anything about getting a credit for my current purchase price.
Anyone know the answer to this?
