Massive modification of "Calling Search Space" under "Directory Number Configuration".

Hi all,
I have a question in order to modify in a massive manner the field "Calling Search Space" inside of the option "Directory Number Configuration".
There are a lot of phones that doesn't have the correct CSS, and I need to change it, but are aprox. 500 phones...
Is there any form that I can accomplish the task in a massive form? May be doing a query or uploading a CSV file??
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Carlo,
I've tried your steps, but when I search for the extensions to modify, the checkbox doesn´t appear near of the result of any extension
the option just show me the extension list an some other information but not anymore.
Is there any option that I need to enable inside of CUCM??
Also the version of CUCM that we are using is 9.1.
Thanks for your help

  • Calling search space filter

    Dear All,
I would like to ask how can i get list of directory number with certian calling search space like CSS is International or Long Disance, i am using CUCM 7
    Please Help

If you only need a list of DNs that have associated a certain CSS; than go under the CSS in question and on the navigation field on the top right hand side of the screen; drop down and select "Dependency Records". This will show you where the CSS is applied. Please note that you have to have the "Dependency Records" service enabled to run it.

  • One Calling Search Space to rule them all?

    Hi everybody!
I'm new in this whole CUCM configuration, and something the immense number of options, setting, elements and others CUCM has are overhelming!!
Today I noticed the many, many places where we can set a Calling Search Space (CSS) and I would like to know if CSS set somewhere prevails over
    another.
This is where I have found the option to set a CSS
Device Pool -> Device Mobility Related Information (Device Mobility Calling Search Space)
Device Pool -> Device Mobility Related Information (Calling Search Space for  Auto-registration)
End User (SUBSCRIBE Calling Search Space)
    Phone (Calling Search Space)
    Directory Number (Calling Search Space)
Directory Number -> "Call Fonuard and Call Pickup Settings" (Calling Search Space)
Most probably this field should be somewhere else, but this is when I got really confused.
Fore example a Phone can be related with a DN, with a Device Pool, with an End User.... each of this this four elements, can be assigned with a different CSS.
Now, if for example I want to allow or restrict a international call (based on the CSS) where be the best place to do it?
Do I need to change the CSS everywhere?
    Thank you!!

    Hi,
most of the parameters - including Calling Search Spaces - may be configured at multiple places.
There is one important thing to remember, though: if a parameter is not set for a certain entity, it might be still applied - using the parameter value at a lower level.
So if CSS is not set at the Line level, the CSS set at the Device level is applied (in other words, if no CSS is set on the Directory Number page, then the CSS set at the Phone Device level is applied).
    That's the easy part.
Now, what happens if the CSS is set at both the Directory Number and the Device level: the lists of partitions are concatenated. First comes the partitions from the DN, then the partitions from the Device.
So if there's a CSS called "LineCSS" containing partitions A, B, C and a CSS called "DeviceCSS" with partitions X, Y, Z, then anyone calling from that DN would have access to partitions (and in this order): A, B, C, X, Y, Z.
Unless it's a CTI Port, because then the order is different, first comes Device, then the line, so it would be X, Y, Z, A, B, C.
    A bit confusing, isn't it?
Now, back to the list you posted: not everything named CSS is related to calling restrictoins. Restrictions, yes.
Take the SUBSCRIBE CSS - it's related to who can see whose presence information.
I would recommend you to take a look at the "Help for this page" for each page - they might contain useful information for a beginner.
    Have fun,
    G.

  • None Calling Search space

    Dear All
I have a question about none calling search space
how i can to not allow the IPT phone on call manager to call internal extension i means when a phone has a none CSS can call any phone registerd on the same call manager
    thanks

If you leave the DNs in the partition that is expected, the partitions is always included in whatever CSS you assign to the phone at the very end of the list.
If you don't want that to happen, you need to properly configure CSS/partitions in your system
If you leave everything in with the options in partition/CSS that's a pretty poor design, specially when you want to start configuring call restrictions as in your case.

  • Receiving calls from an ex-directory number

    Hi there,
A friend of mine has an ex-directory number. Every time she tries to ring my land line she is unable to get phone to ring. Any body any ideas. I've tried referencing ex-directory, call barring etc. but no luck.

    Hi and welcome
Do you have trouble receiving calls from other people or is it just this one person?
Do they have any troubles calling anyone else?
It is possible that if the other person is with another line provider (sky?) there are known problems that will not allow certain numbers to be rung between different suppliers.

  • Report: Find Calling Search Space Activation policy

In the "Line" settings section " Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings. Here there are 3 options "Configured CSS", "default" and "with activating device/Linew".
Need a report to find all phones whose line has "with activating device" under the Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings.
    running antique 7.1.3.
Also, how in the world do I get a CSV file or .txt generated by the reports to DOWNLOAD, not open in the web browser.  Yes, I have been in to the firefox browser assocations and made adjustments, it does NOT work. Still pops up window.
    Thanks

There isn't a "native" report that will get this for you per se. I suppose you could bulk export directory numbers into a .csv and then parse out what you need. I typically run a SQL query to get this data. You can use the AXL Toolkit in CUCM (plugin), a 3rd party tool, write your own tool, or run the SQL query from the CLI.
    An example query:
admin:run sql select n.dnorpattern,tcfa.name as activationpolicy from numplan n inner join typecfacssactivationpolicy tcfa on n.tkcfacssactivationpolicy = tcfa.enum where n.tkpatternusage=2 order by n.dnorpattern
The above will dump all directory numbers with the associate CFA CSS Policy. The n.tkpatternusage value of 2 means "device", which are aka phones.
You can get the "activating device" info using the following query:
admin:run sql select n.dnorpattern,tcfa.name as  activationpolicy from numplan n inner join typecfacssactivationpolicy  tcfa on n.tkcfacssactivationpolicy = tcfa.enum where tcfa.name like '%Activating%' order by n.dnorpattern

  • Call search space and partitions - is there a easy way to view

    Hi All
I would like to know how my css and partitions all hang together on my call manager, is there a easy way of seeing this, like a visual or table view etc ?

    Hi Carl,
You can try the following. Using Bulk Administration, Export CSS data, you will get a tar file. Save that tar file in csv format. It will show the CSS names along with the list of partitions assigned to each CSS ( example output from my lab )

  • Change directory number on 7960

    Hi there,
I need to edit the directory number of a 7960 phone to 0009 but can't even get to the page that allows the change. Please help!!!
    Thanks...
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
    From ccmadmin;
    Updating a Directory Number
Follow these instructions to update a directory number that is assigned to a specific phone.
    Procedure
Step 1 Choose Device > Phone.
The Find and List Phones window displays.
Step 2 Enter search criteria to locate a specific phone.
A list of phones that match the search criteria displays.
Step 3 Click the name of the phone to update.
    The Phone Configuration window displays.
Step 4 From the Directory Numbers list, click the line that you want to update.(Probably Line 1)
The Directory Number Configuration window displays.
Step 5 Update the appropriate settings (Directory Number in this case to 0009)
    Step 6 Click Update.
Step 7 The change gets automatically applied to the phone after you click OK; however you can click Reset Devices. For more information, see the "Resetting a Phone" section.
Note: Devices restart as soon as possible. During this process, Cisco CallManager may drop calls on gateways.

  • WebEx Meeting Server 1.5 - Call drop after entering meeting number and #

    Hi everyone,
Just installed a new CWMS server version 1.5... all features seem to work EXCEPT when I use the call in function, I type in the meeting number, hit # and the call is terminated.
    I read through this document:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/b_troubleshootingGuide/b_troubleshootingGuide_chapter_01000.pdf
    From the document:
    Call-In Issues
    • Problem Users hear a reorder tone before or after the complete number is dialed.
    • Problem The "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" message is played by the annunciator.
    • Problem During call-back, a user's call terminates after pressing 1 to join the meeting.
    • Problem During call-in, a user's call terminates after entering the meeting ID followed by #.
Possible Cause You need to reconfigure your CUCM servers.
Solution Reconfigure your CUCM settings as follows: Use the "<NONE>" partition and "<NONE>" CSS
(Calling Search Space) for all Cisco WebEx Meetings Server related entities in CUCM (for example, route
patterns, SIP route patterns, SIP trunks, etc.).
Solution Use one partition and one CSS specifically assigned for all Cisco WebEx Meetings Server related
entities. For more information refer to the system guide for your CUCM version.
I configured my route pattern to use <NONE> and all other option as <NONE> and still the call is terminated.
I created a css_webex CSS and put in pt_internal and assigned that and I still get terminated.
    Am I missing something here?

Personally, I never really use the null partition but before we go there.  You have a couple different route patterns.  The first is an inbound call pattern(s) that are going to be standard route patterns (i.e. numeric) and you'll have some outbound PSTN patterns for the actual outdialing that CWMS does.  You then have some SIP route patterns that can either be defined as IP or FQDN for each media server.  After you connect and then want to join a meeting, those SIP route patterns are used to redirect you to the appropriate server where a meeting is hosted.  For those patterns, are you using IP or FQDN and what partition are they in?  If you are using FQDN then you may need to change to IP depending on your DNS configuration on CUCM.

  • Meeting Place 8.5.3.4 - Change Directory Service Configuration

    Hi Support Community
We have 3 CUCM clusters version 8.6.2
We have 1 Meeting Place 8.5.3.4 cluster with a primary and standby server
Meeting Place has directory service integration with 1 of the CUCM clusters and performs all user sync and authentication via AXL / LDAP
We now need to change the Meeting Place configuration for AXL server, used for authentication and sync, to another CUCM cluster, this will use exactly the same LDAP search base so all users and details will remain the same in CUCM and therefore we want nothing to change in Meeting Place so all users should remain the same with the same configuration and all meetings should remain the same.
It looks straight forward to change the AXL URL but then we discovered the below from the Meeting Place configuration guide :
" user updates, imports, and deletions are not supported from a redundant Cisco Unified Communications Manager, even if it is integrated with the same LDAP directory as the primary Cisco Unified Communications Manager. This is because Directory Service user updates are tied to a field that is unique to each Cisco Unified Communications Manager server."
So we need to know how we go about changing the directory service configuration to point to another CUCM cluster for authentication and synchronization whilst keeping Meeting Place users and meetings in the Database unchanged.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Carl Ratcliffe

    Hi Carl,
I've just received a final update. If you want to point your Directory Integration to a different CUCM server that is holding the same user database and runs AXL service, you should be able to just change the AXL URL on MP and point to this new server. After this change is made and saved, we recommend restarting services on MeetingPlace (SSH to the server with mpxadmin account, changing to 'root', and running 'mpx_sys restart' command). Once the services are restarted and system comes back up, go to User Configuration > Directory Service > Directory Service Configuration and perform a Full Sync (make sure that Profile Number setting under Profile Number Configuration section is set to New users only in order to avoid any profile # change if any of the user profiles in CUCM was updated in the meantime)
Please, let me know of any questions you might have.
    Thank you.

  • Directory Number Issue

I have setup a 7941 IP phone and I have two lines. The first DN works fine and is able to dial and receive both internal and external calls but the second one can only receive internal calls
Any ideas what might be causing the second DN not to receive External calls?

    Hi Alistair,
    Then maybe we could use this method to completely remove this second DN before trying again. Remove this DN from all phones first;
    Can you please try this method via the Route Plan Report;
    Deleting Unassigned Directory Numbers
This section describes how to delete an unassigned directory number from the route plan report. Directory numbers get configured and removed in the Directory Number Configuration window of Cisco CallManager Administration. When a directory number gets removed from a device or a phone gets deleted, the directory number still exists in the Cisco CallManager database. To delete the directory number from the database, use the Route Plan Report window.
    Procedure
Step 1 Choose Route Plan > Route Plan Report.
The Route Plan Report window displays. Use the three drop-down list boxes to specify a route plan report that lists all unassigned DNs.
Step 2 Three ways exist to delete directory numbers:
    a. Click the directory number that you want to delete. When the Directory Number Configuration window displays, click Delete.
    b. Check the check box next to the directory number that you want to delete. Click Delete Selected.
    c. To delete all found unassigned directory numbers, click Delete all Found Items.
A warning message verifies that you want to delete the directory number.
Step 3 To delete the directory number, click OK. To cancel the delete request, click Cancel.

  • Space under flash movies

    Hi All,
I am having an annoying problem:  when I use swfobject code to embed flash movies, it leaves a space under the movie that breaks the design.  This happens when viewing it in Chrome or Firefox (on a mac), but not in Safari.  I have found that when I just paste in the <object> code alone
created when I publish the movie out of flash into my HTML document, the space disappears.  I have tried removing all line breaks and extra spaces
from the swfobject code to no avail.  This also happens when I add the movie in using Dreamweaver CS4 (insert->media->swf) , which uses
    swfobject.
Here is an affected page, note the space under both the header flash movie, and the main movie under the nav: http://hamptonsdesignstudio.com/index2.html
Here is the page with just the object code and the desired design: http://hamptonsdesignstudio.com/index.html
I would like to be able to use swfobject to provide alternate content for
search engines, but not at the expense of breaking my design. Any
    suggestions ?
    Thanks,
    Colin
