Massive problems accessing Google websites

Sinc earlier this afternoon I have been having huge problems accessing various Google websites (Search, Youtube, Blog etc..)
Sometimes they work, and other times they time out. I ran a few traceroutes and got the following:

Looks like routing problems in BT's network.
Obviously this also causes loads of issues with many websites due to Analytics not loading.

Hi there,
I have the exact same problem since this morning. It makes it impossible to connect to Google, YouTube, Google Finance, Google Maps, etc.
I have filed incident reports and been on the phone for 2.5 hrs today with 3 different BT callcenters and helpdesks in the UK and India. Every BT representative has refused to escalate the problem because "if it's only Google that is affected, then it's not a BT problem."
I am based in Kingston, where are you based? (to see if it's a local problem)
Here is my example of a broken traceroute:

  • Problems accessing specific website

I'm trying to download a widget from www.bigbucketblog.com but Safari keeps telling me that the server can't be found. I have no problems accessing any other websites so I can't understand why this specific one is causing me a problem. I've tried a traceroute and it's telling me 'no route to host'. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I should also add I'm connecting to the internet via an AEBS connected to a Speedtouch ADSL modem.
That shouldn't be an issue, since no other sites present the "server can't be found" message. Have you also tried "Reset Safari?"

  • Problems accessing school website

I'm trying to get onto the library website for my school and it will not let me. I've never had any problems accessing websites before. This is the first time. I've had my router about a week and a half now. I've been researching my issue all morning and I'm not sure what's wrong. I believe the firmware is up-to-date. I knew a few things about the internet but I am new to networking. Can someone help me?

Goto www.linksys.com/download and check for latest versio of firmware and update it. It might fix it

  • Not able to access Google websites

For the past 2 days I have not been able to access Google or my Gmail account. I have tried in both Safari and IE. I usually use Safari and have had no problems in the past with Google. I don't know if the Google site is having problems or if it is my computer. Can anyone help me out?
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Who would have thought that all it took was unplugging my cable modem and router from the wall outlet and plugging them back in again?!

  • Problems accessing certain websites, regardless of selected browser

I use Safari as default, but the problem occurs also in Firefox.  Certain sites simply will NOT load, like ebay, www.kvraudio.com, and m.matrixsynth.com.
I have no problem accessing these sites on my iPhone or any other computer.  There is a laborious workaround: to unplug and replug my AirPort Extreme will at least load the front page of each of these.
I have run repair permissions many times to no avail.  What could be the culprit?  Cookies?  Any helpful suggestions would be welcome.

Hmmm....a quick glance at the "More like this" box on the right found my solution.  Apparently, replacing the DNS server did the trick.

  • Problem accessing Canadian Website

I just changed ISP to Uverse.  I want to visit the site www.lionsafari.com -- a Canadian zoo.  When I go to the site in Uverse using IE or Chrome on a PC, or Safari on a iphone I get a message "Vinyl6J1.Sentex.Ca".  When I change my network connection on the device back to my old cable ISP I see the website for the zoo.  What's happening?  Why is this site blocked by Uverse? I had an on-line chat guy at Uverse who had me change my DSN server on my IPv4 property window on the PC and reboot.  It didn't work.  The issue still persists on all devices.  I am able to see the site on my iphone using Chrome and Uverse, but I want to see the site on my PC.  If I change my network connection back to the my provider everything works fine. Help.

Some things I would try if I were in this situation. Make sure there is no proxy server set on the browsers that don't work.Make sure as well that the DNS servers on your PC wifi connection are set to automatic. When I try and access the website by using it's IP address 98.159.241.33 , I also get it ending up at Vinyl6J1.Sentex.Ca but it works fine when I use the actual website name. If all looks good then I would email [email protected] and ask them to see if they could be blocking your 108.x.x.x IPV4 address under certain circumstances.

  • Various problems with google websites in safari

    hi,
I have the latest mbp 13" with retina display and mavericks osx. I have been using safari, but I am having strange issues when using google sites (perhaps the problem also extends to other websites which I haven't noticed).
    For example:
In all google services e.g. search, drive, gmail, you get a bar at the top with your google account. Now I should be able to logout from here or access another Google service by pressing the icon with squares but they are unresponsive. No dropdown appears.
Another problem is when I am using google search, I often want to limit results to 'discussions'. Normally I would be able to do 'more' -> 'discussions' but when i press 'more' the only options I get are news, books, flights and applications.
Other than that safari seems quite normal.
Has anyone experienced similar issues? How can they be resolved?
    thanks,

Safari recently went stupid when it interacts with Google (search, ads, etc).
Also, suddenly can’t access URLs it had no trouble with before.
Often can’t follow links from news aggregators to original sources (like Reuters).
ANYTIME this happens, Chrome has no problem with the same access issues.

  • Problems accessing ITunes Website

Hi, I am having difficulties accessing the Itunes App Store. It says "We could not complete your Itunes Request. There was an error in the Itunes Store". Is there a problem with my apple computer or is it the Apple Itunes website that is having problems?

Do you really mean the website as in what you would see with a web browser?  http://itunes.apple.com/us/genre/mobile-software-applications/id36?mt=8 works for me.

  • Airport Extreme N problem accessing some websites

    Hello,
I just installed an Airport Extreme N base station. When I go to the following website to access documentation, it hangs. When I put my old Dlink router back in place, I can get to the website and access the documentation just fine. I have no idea whats going on. Can some of the other Airport Extreme N users access the following symantec corp documentation site?
    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/documentation.jsp?language=english&view =manuals&pid=15143
When you right click and try to save the .pdf files it just downloads a 0byte file. When you try to click on the .pdf to open it, it opens with nothing.
When I take the Airport Extreme out and hook my Dlink DI-624 router in, no problems opening the document or saving to my laptop.
Any help or insight would be appreciated!

No one seems to have an answer to this one yet - have you found anything? The thread below seems to be the same issue:

I'll keep working at a solution and will post if I can find one.

  • Problems accessing published website to edit

i published a website 6 months ago without incident (using i-life/i-web 08). i now need to edit the website, but i can no longer access the file thru i-web. shortly after i published the website, we had to get a new computer and were able to transfer all files. i can find the website's html files and all other files on both new & old hard drives. but when i look into library/application support for the domain files, there's nothing there (on either drive). when i call up the i-web application, it comes up without a hitch, except my website file doesn't appear in the sidebar. does anyone have any thoughts??

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Unfortunately if you don't have the domain.sites file you will have to start over and rebuild the site from scratch. However, Paragragh 2.3 of this iWeb FAQ site has some tips that may make rebuilding a little easier: http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebBackupretrieve.html

  • I can't access microsoft website on bootcamp?

Hello Mac user everywhere, I have a problem accessing microsoft website such as microsft.com, msn.com and hotmail.com on my bootcamp windows xp partion.  I just don't know why that is, I did everything to set it up and I just can access the websites.  Every other website works fine so it can't be my internet connection.  When I'm on mac partion I can access microsoft sites, but when I'm on bootcamp I can't.  It just doesn't make any sence, if mac works just fine, why bootcamp can access it.  Is it because it's an OME version of it, or what? Please help me, I really what to update windows xp and software like windows messenger, directx and so on.  Thank you for your time.

Do you know what you did or added?
VMs works on any platform. Has nothing to do with whether you own x or z.
You're using Windows. On a Mac. Try run Windows from inside OS X using Parallels.
Maybe learn what things actually are and do.
Change your router's DNS IP to OpenDNS.
I've read where people were using Symantec Norton for OS X and the firewall interferred.
Type in the physical IP for a web site.
XP was and is garbage it has so many security holes you can drive a tank through it.
Get your Dad or someone to properly setup Windows in a guest account under OS Xs.
Your system has a high probability of being infected with malware.
    Good luck.

    Hi, I'm having problems accessing certain websites. Certain websites are giving me the following error (in Firefox);
    "Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
I get similar errors in the other browsers. I tried connecting to them via a proxy and it works. I also asked a friend to try and they work for him on Virgin, so definitely seems to be a problem with my connection.
I also got that error intermittently while browsing the forum here. One of the websites I can't access is mine, so it's getting annoying not being able to do stuff I usually do.
I have turned off/unplugged my home hub, but that didn't help.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • On my Macbook, with google homepage, it often begins looping onto google search page and will not allow me to access any websites either by clicking on one, or typing address in. in page

I use google as my homepage. Very often( every day at some point) when I search a subject and click on the address, a google search page come up with list of choices. When I click on address it simply returns to this page and will not let me access any websites either by clicking on them, opening in new window or tab, nor allowing me to access anything from the address line. When this occurs, it just keeps looping into this page. I clear cache, shut down, and try everything possible. Occurs very randomly and never when I first turn on the computer. ???????
