Massive Stability/Usage Issues With New Update [1.0.9.113] on Mac

Hello! So I'm new here, but a longtime Spotify user.  Honestly, I have been left unimpressed and in fact quite annoyed with recent updates.  Today, however, marked the first update that has rendered Spotify essentially useless on my Mac. Beyond features, this new app struggles to play a single song... on an app... designed solely for playing songs. The track length (thing at the bottom showing current place in the song) is behind by *minutes* in some songs.  The play/pause button lags by about 10-25 seconds between pressing the button/spacebar and getting a response. Moving songs between playlists by clicking and dragging has become very difficult because of lagging. Just overall, a much less stable app has replaced an at least mostly stable, usable one on my computer.  Is there something I'm missing?  Or something I need to do, or just hold out until a new update and hope that the stability issues are resolved?

Which version of OS X are you running?
The latest Spotify version 1.0.9 works great for me.
Usually when there are problems like this, a clean reinstall of Spotify can fix the problem.

When you open up the app, click the search icon and search for Spotify and it will automatically find and delete all files on your computer related to Spotify.
I use it all the time and it's a really great tool. If you ever decide to uninstall an app, the best way is to use this tool.
After that, download and reinstall Spotify.

    I downloaded and installed the most recenrt update for my K900 (Internal Version Number: K900_ROW_1_S_2_009_0131_130727). After updating, the contact manager keeps on stopping. There is some problem with the new update.

    I updated to 727 too, data is intact but settings affected.
    Could determine only 2 changes.
    Removed: Option for Animation & other settings for Magic Weather has been removed.
    Added: Knock to Light feature added but works only when knocking twice on the lower central part of the display where the default lock screen buttons are located.
    Dint find any performance improvement or degradation.
    Other existing issues faced with my K900:
    1) Call drop on every other call.
    2) Wifi signal drops to 1 bar when touching any part on the rear of the phone, when placed on any surface, signal is full.
    3) Time in notification bar is incorrect and am unable to change it while the weather widget displays the correct time.
    4) Speaker not loud enough to be used a speakerphone while on phone call or skype video.
    5) Despite disabling vibration time & again, it keeps getting enabled all by itself.
    Has anyone else faced the above issues?

    I guess I'm not the only one having issues since the recent update to the iPod Touch (2nd gen). Not only am I experiencing the same wi-fi issues that everyone else is talking about, but also having problems with my mail client (accessing my gmail account). Lately the mail client is doing several things it didn't do previously, like adding "messages" to the inbox that aren't really there, and not marking other messages as having been read, even after I know that I have read them (and have stayed looking at them for well over 5 seconds, like say 30 seconds or longer). The email client is no longer behaving correctly since this new update. I wish there was a way to undo the update. . .this update is turning out to be a very disappointing mistake on the part of Apple.

    iOS4 upgrade gives me a podcast porblem. I have a 2nd Gen Touch for nearly 2 years. I have many podcasts downloaded. I produce my own and if I have ONLY 1 (my lastest) downloaded from iTunes, I can play it on the Touch. BUT if I download 2 or more ( of my own podcast that I produce & publish) I cannot play it. When I tap it to play, after about 4 secs, the touch goes back to the top menu - where all the icons are displayed. Tried most other podcasts I have and they play. JUST my own produced podcasts ?? Go figure. Never had this problem in the 2 years.

  • With new update the script subMSO doesn't work anymore.

    I have a problem... In my folios (interactive comics) i have nested MSO..  MSO (1) with another MSO (2) in it and again in MSO (2) there is another MSO (3) and so on...

    All work fine with previews release on dps desktop tool and content viewer 23 24.
    But with new update the button inside Sub-MSOs doesn't work.

    Download the full version of the software then shift click the restore button. This will ask you where the firmware files are. Once you point to the firmware then you can install the official version

    I guess that it just had a bad connecting port on the phone itself, no clue why it wouldn't work when plugged in both ways other than there is actually some differentiating between the two sides.

  • Horrible issues with new iTunes update

    I am having a few issues with the new iTnes update:
    I cannot find a way to view the album artwork in the bottom left-hand corner like I used to. I can't find the option anywhere! I want to see it.
    Some song files have had their song titles, album titles, etc. changed from what I had them listed as. For example, my Footloose file, which used to say the song title was "Footloose" and the album as "Footloose", now shows the song title as "Footloose (from 'Footloose')" and the album title is blank. When I go to try to change it back, it is all greyed out and will not let me change it!
    Song files that I had put in more than one album artwork for, (if the song appeared on more than one album, including greatest hits albums and sountracks) the update now lists them as all individual songs from each one of the albums, so I have tons of repeats. I want it to go back to showing me all the album artwork for ONE file.
    This new update has completely destroyed my iTunes library. I am NOT HAPPY.

    Well its simple. Just go to your finder and search for iphone. You will find a backup folder. But, you should just be able to restore your iphone. Then after restore it will ask which backup your will like to use. Then in the drop down menu select your phones name and it should restore all contacts,text messages and notes as well as bookmarks. It worked fine for me until I used iFuntastic and Apptap. I guess it alterd the backup file and deleted all my notes. So, unless you have "hacked" your phone it should restore and re enter your info fine.

  • Wi-fi issues with new 3.1.3 update

    Just updated to the new FW 3.1.3 and now my iPhone 3G wont connect to my wi-fi. It see's it but when I select it, after a few seconds I get a error: "Unable to join the network."
    I reset my router and still nothing. MBP and PS3 can get on just fine.
    Anybody else having issues?

    Reading this and the other posts on Wifi problems is disturbing. My iPhone 3G is on firmware 3.1.2 so not sure that reverting back to 3.1.2 will help as I have the same problems. It also appears that 3.1.3. will exacerbate the problem. Sounds like its time to harass Apples Support staff and developers to get a proper resolution to this issue as this problem is starting to really irritate.
    I use a Netgear WNDR3700 wifi router at home. It has support for all bands. At work I use a Belkin router (exact model not remembered) I see the same problems. At my mates house with another Netgear router (DG834G) I see the same problem.
    Until the last few weeks I can't say I've had any problems with WiFi on my 12 month old iPhone 3G (firmware 3.1.2 (7D11). However, these last few weeks this phone just can't stay connected to WiFi networks for any great period of time; sometimes minutes, sometimes seconds.
    I've tried manually adding wifi networks following hints from other users on the forums, but this doesn't work reliably.
    I've now done a full reset of the network element based on advice in Apple's own iPhone WiFi troubleshooter. I'll see how that goes. http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/wifi/#section_5
    I don't believe this issue will be resolved without Apple's action, so come on Apple please help us. We love our iPhones, just don't like to see issues with them!

  • Samsung Galaxy 5 Lollipop update issues with new features

    I am having various problems with the new update to my phone. Any advice for the issues below is greatly appreciated.
    1) Is there a way to get my tabs BACK into Chrome? Having to go to my task manager to get a different tab or close the current one is time consuming and annoying. I want to be able to toggle between tabs and close tabs while I'm in the Chrome application.
    2) I use Messages for my text message application. Currently, If I have a message open and I receive another message from that same person, there is no notification. Before the update, I would get a notification of any texts. Unless I exit the message group, I do not get any notification. Is there a setting change that I can apply so I always get notified? This issue has cause me to miss various texts and have delayed responses because I am not actively staring at the phone.
    3) Is there a way to override the settings on the Mute sound? Typically, a person will put their phone on mute and set their alarm to wake them up. With the new update, I have to set mute, go to settings, set the interruptions time to 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours. This inevitably ends up with my phone starting to buzz with vibrations well before my alarm is set to go off. I can set alarm to priority, but Mute always cancels all interruptions. Having to go through 4 steps to get my alarm set each night, along with getting vibration notifications is not practical.

  • Issues with new Youtube update on Apple Tv and playlists

    Has anyone else noticed that with the new update to Youtube on the Apple TV that playlists seem to be capped at 20 videos with no option to 'load more'. I saw a "load more' option briefly on the Apple TV in my bedroom but it quickly disappeared. The issue also seems to extend to simply loading more videos on a channels page beyond 20.

    yeah i encountered that.
    workaround is to create additional youtube playlist.
    also, when a search in youtube on "my youtube" section, it only displays 20 items only.

    Hi everyone!
    Just got a brand new Ipod Touch 8G, used to have a used 16G but it finally broke. So since I bought this one brand new I actually decided to register it with Itunes under my email, unlike the last one which someone gave me and I could never get to let me sign in. I also JUST changed banks, and dont have the CC yet 4 the new one so I tried using Paypal as my registration payment type for Itunes, even went into Paypal and added ALL my new bank routing numbers, AND put a little cash into Paypal. At first this seemed to work fine with Itunes, it let me finish signing up and even let me start downloading a few free things, THEN I went into my separate paypal account window to remove an OLD prepaid Netspend card in case anyone charged the old card (trust me prepaid cc are a scam!) it wouldnt take my money from the bank thru paypal. AS SOON as i removed the card, Itunes stopped downloading my free stuff, and told me I had to verify payment information, took me to the main Itunes screen, where i again chose Paypal, only this time it took me right into Paypal to where u go to add a credit card and it told me I NEEDED to add a credit or debit card to paypal! WHY? It had worked fine, I have money on the account and a BANK ACCOUNT attatched!
    *So i decided to just work on copying my music from my computer to the Ipod since I couldnt get Itunes working. This is where I have a few questions, have searched here cant really find the info so here goes...
    first of all since I'm sure someone will ask what VERSION I have, WHERE the heck do you find this info? Cause all I know is its a brand new 8G Touch, it says nothing on the box about a version, when I access my General Settings on the Ipod, and go to About it says Version 4.0. So i guess thats my version even tho people on here have said there is nothing that high for the 8G?
    **Second, i have been trying to find a better way to organize my music. I KNOW i can simply go to Music, Artist, pick the band then hit shuffle, BUT I am a big fan of playlists, I like my music to play in a certain way usually. But I have some artists that I have HOURS of music for, Im not sure i understand how I can change exactly what songs play by this artist, in a certain order for that time? I'm guessing I need to use my actual Itunes computer screen to do this? Right now I just have all my songs by an artist under a playlist with their name.. However, I am more than willing to sacrifice some of my longer playlists with just one artist in them if ANYONE thinks that it would help free up ANY more space? I have seen quotes from Apple and such that say the 8G should be able to hold around 1700 songs, of course i know this is a rough estimate, as some songs are longer, but I havent put THAT much on it, under my General/About tab it says 360 songs, and I removed ALL my pics from it cause i have a lot, and STILL I have already supposedly filled up 3.73GB, and this bring me to my next big issue-
    **WHY does it claim to be 8G but my capacity now says its just 6.83!? I mean I havent added anything but music yet, and I planned on getting some of the free apps n such, but at this rate I wont have the space! I know 6.83 isnt far from 8, but still I feel cheated...does it have anything to do with the UPDATED version of the software that Apple convinced me to update RIGHT after I had JUST installed the Ipod? Cause it took forever then it said it was RESTORING my Ipod, and it told me on Itunes that it was restoring my music from backup! Why would it have erased all content during a basic upgrade without even telling me? Is there any way to uninstall that update and get back the memory it took up? And do these backup files take up space like on a normal computer? what about under settings where it says something about condense? I just think I must be doing something wrong cause 8G and 16G arent THAT vastly different,but the old touch I had had a WHOLE BUNCH more music on it PLUS 1000s of pics, PLUS some Apps, and wasnt nearly full, this one I added my fav artists and its nearly full?

    Oh also, ive heard two things, that you DONT need a "sensor" seperate thing for the Nike app with the Touch, and that yes you DO...any idea? If i DO need to BUY something else I do not want it and can I remove it to free up space??

    WHY does it claim to be 8G but my capacity now says its just 6.83
    The size of you HD is calculated binary when it comes to use it, instead of decimal when companies want to advertise there products. 1 KB=1024Byte instead of 1000KB as advertised by the manufacturer. In your case this reduces the actual available space by the factor of 0.93 or approx. 7,4GB.
    If you have an "other" section in your color bar showing the different types of data on your ipod, which is bigger than 500MB, this could be a sign of corrupt data caused by a sync that did not complete or copied damaged data. A restore will reduce the size to normal again.

    If you restore your ipod, iTunes will install the newest firmware first and then add back your data and settings from your last backup if you choose to "restore from backup". Every backup is replaced by the following one, so make sure to include this folder in your backup routine in case you'll have to go back.
