Master and Preview

Not sure what ive done but i can no longer get the master and preview image at the same time on the filmstrip or viewer.
probably something simple i know but.
v2.1.4

I figured the file was corrupted because everything I was doing in master and design was showing up different in the preview. I tried saving it and viewing it to see if it was just livecycle being screwy, and the preview was what saved, not what I was looking at in my design. So I sucked it up and deleted it, and am starting again..

I want to know the difference between iphoto library master folder and previews folder.. my pictures is stored in master but part of them is also copied into previews.. it occupied too much space.. if I can't change anything in iphoto library, any way to save the space for iphoto? 70G for almost 15,000 pictures, is it reasonable?

70GB for 15,000 photos is reasonable, yes, if the photo files are large.
DO NOT meddle with the contents of your iPhoto Library in any other way than using the commands available in the iPhoto application. What appear to be duplicate files stored in different parts of the library are NOT duplicates, and if you attempt to save space by deleting things in the Finder, you will wreck your library and land in a world of trouble.

Hi, barbfromedmonton,
why do you ask? The answer depends on what you want to achieve. Are you new to Aperture? You will need a basic understanding of the image management of Aperture, as described in the Aperture 3 User Manual, see the chapter on importing images.
In short, the master image files are very important to Aperture, and never should be deleted, unless you want to delete an image completely and to remove it from your database.
For each image you import Aperture will store (or reference) the master image file. This file will be used, if you edit your image to derive and create new versions of the image. One master image file can be used together with many versions of the same image. These version are represented in a very compact and clever way: Aperture only stores the steps how to compute these versions from the master image files, and not the final image itself. In this way Aperture saves space, since the versions are not full duplicates of the original master files, and you can have many versions of the same image without much additional storage required.
But a version without its master file cannot be exported in full resolution and cannot be edited. Without the master image files you will be left with previews in poor resolution.
In Aperture it is pointless to ask about deleting master files. If you want to edit an image in your Aperture Library you need the master image file too; and if you don't want an image in your library any longer, then just delete all its versions and you will delete the master image file too (there are advanced options too).
If the reason for question is, that your Aperture library is very large and you need to free space on your system drive, then post back and tell us what you want to achieve. Aperture offers the possibility to store the master image files outside the Aperture library as referenced masters, so that the library itself can be considerably smaller.

LR 4.2 - how to compare master and soft proof copy?

Hello Everyone,
I'd like to use the soft proofing function in LR 4.2 to preview the print output and I'd like to use it to apply some corrections to the pictures before printing them, in order they look like I originally meant them to look like, but I'm experiencing some troubles, possibly caused by the used workflow (I'm not a pro, but my environment is calibrated properly).
My workflow is:
1. I import all fotos and apply some changes so that the fotos look like I want them to be (this is the master)
2. As I want to print them I use the soft proofing function and load the target icc profile with which I create a soft proof copy. Sometimes I notice that the differences between master and soft proof copy are quite drammatic, especially with regards to contrast, vibrance of colors and sometimes also regarding the brightness.
3. My target is now to adapt the soft proof copy so that it looks like the master (as I wanted the foto to look like), but I can't find any proper way to do so, because:
- I can't find a (semi-)automated way to adapt the soft proof copy so that it "looks" like the master copy
- in the Develop module I can't find a way to display both the master foto and the soft proof copy besides each other to compare them, in order to apply changes to the soft proof copy only so that it "looks" like the master.
The only way I found so far is to switch back and forth bewteen master and soft proof copy to compare them (to be able to apply the needed changes to the soft proof copy), but this is pretty painful, as the fotos don't load immediately, but it always takes some seconds and I have to 'remember' how the master looks like.
I'm not sure whether I'm doing something terribly wrong, but unfotunately I didn't find any answers to this specific issue so far, that's why I'm writing here.

Activate softproofing with your choice of output profile (this can include proofing a web output colourspace such as sRGB).
Press Y to show a split before/after view (if your Toolbar is not open, press T to open that - this gives different kinds of split view options).
You will now see a comparison of the un-proofed and proofed appearances of this current image.
If you then make any develop adjustment from this mode, e.g. to make these two appearances more similar, you are then prompted to create a new proofing (virtual) copy as necessary - which can store these corrective adjustments independently of the main adjustments.
The before/after view then switches to show a comparison between your starting image (shown without softproofing) against your print-adjusted proof version (shown with softproofing).

Adobe Muse: "Preview page in browser" and "preview site in browser" functions have stopped working.

Working one day then not the next. Firefox just spins. The preview button works, as does the publish function.

Something else to add: When Firefox finally timed out it displayed the full url. Copying and pasting that into Safari and everything works. So it seems in someway this is a Firefox issue or a Muse -Firefox connection issue.
So the new question is: how can I change the browser Muse chooses to use when I select these two functions?

Adobe Muse will use OS default browser for preview the page/site in browser. So you can change the default browser and preview the site again.
Also, try to troubleshoot Firefox, using their official documentation

Image Capture and Preview "folder not writable" error importing to shared folder

I'm running 10.8.5 on a Late 2012 model Mac Mini. I'm trying to create a folder under my home directory where my wife can import pictures using Image Capture or Preview while logged into her account. I've tried setting permissions on the folder by setting POSIX permissions and ACLs from the command line, and also by setting ACLs using Get Info in Finder, but it seems as though both Image Capture and Preview ignore the ACLs and instead rely solely on the POSIX permissions for everyone/other (even when a relevant group is set). Unless the POSIX permissions for everyone/other are "rwx" Image Capture and Preview both give an error that the import failed, and /var/log/system.log shows errors that the "folder is not writable". I'd like to be able to set this up without making the folder and the files in it writable by everyone. My understanding was that ACLs should take precedence over POSIX permissions, but even the POSIX permissions don't seem to be getting handled properly, because the group is ignored. Any help or explanation of what's happening would be appreciated.
Here's an example with details:
Suppose we have the users alice and bob. We want to set permissions on the directory /Users/bob/importdir such that Alice can import files from a camera there using Image Capture (or Preview, either would do), but don't want to relax the permissions more than necessary.
We create a group named bob_and_alice
We set the following permissions on /Users/bob:
POSIX: rwxr-xr-x, owner=bob, group=staff (i.e. default POSIX permissions)
ACLs:
0: group:everyone deny delete
1: group:bob_and_alice allow list,search,readattr,readextattr,readsecurity
2: user:alice allow list,search,readattr,readextattr,readsecurity
"Get Info" shows "Read & Write" for bob and "Read Only" for alice, bob_and_alice, staff, and everyone

Now Alice opens Image Capture and with our camera connected we try to import a photo to /Users/bob/importdir. Image Capture shows an error dialog with the text "Import error. An error occurred while importing. The item 'foo.jpg' was not imported." /var/log/system.log shows the message: "Jul 20 22:12:34 computer_name.local Image Capture[32804]: Document destination folder is not writable" If instead Alice uses Preview it shows an error dialog with the text "The selected folder is not writable" and /var/log/system.log shows two error messages:

Now we change the POSIX permissions on /Users/bob/importdir to: rwxrwxrwx
The import succeeds with both Image Capture and Preview
Can anyone explain what's going on here? Is there another reasonable way to do this without, moving this shared directory to /Users/shared?

where m.accid=d.accid (+)The outer join operator (+) will get you all the details from master and any details from the detail if they exist, but the master details will still be got even if there are not details.
Note: Oracle 10g now supports ANSI standard outer joins as in:
select m.accid,m.title,d.dr,d.cr
from master m LEFT OUTER JOIN detail d on m.accid=d.accid

Problem with Master and Child table

Working in jdev 11.1.1.2.0. I have one strange issue. i have master and child tables, the model is working fine with the view link. but when drag drop the same into my jsff. when i query the result 1st time 2 tables are refershing properly and data is coming. but the when i trying to select another row in the 1st table my 2nd table(child table) is not refreshing.
i put partial trigger of the 2nd table as 1st table id.
can any one help wht is issue here.

I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.

Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

Well the requirement seems very simple but its not as simple as it looks.
i have an idea not sure whether it gonna work or not. you need to build a history cube as if i understand your requirement then for any selected period you wanna see the change in wage type or pay rate for each employee if any.
1. pick up an cube that builds on emp transaction data.
2. add the 0empoyee Md, wage type and pay rate from MD to the cube and fill the cube
3.so now every day or in scheduled time interval the MD will load and the corresponding the TD will be loaded to the cube.
4. create a info object say indicator and add it to the cube
5.while loading the data to the cube everyday in tranformation check if for same employee there is a change or not in the wage type and pay rate. If so set the indicator to 1.
4.now build one more cube for holding the changed records from this cube and call it say zhrchange
5. now pull the date, year and related emplyee information for the emplyee to the zhrchange for those with indicator 1.
6. before the next load happen, rememrbe to set the indicator to 0 before checking the conditoin in the transformation routine , so that only if the conditoin satisfy then only it will be 1 else it will be 0.
now the cube zhrchange has all the changed records with time stamp and you can base your query on that to get the changed values in specific time period

ADF BC - One Master and Two Detail pages How To?

I have an existing ADF BC .jspx master-detail page that works fine. It shows one product as the master (read-only; no navigation controls) and assocatied customer feedback as the detail (multiple records; read-only.) Now I also want to compute some averages from the same table used to create the detail view object. I have created a second view object because this requires a separate query that calculates aggregate values. I want to take advantage of using view links so that this 2nd view object is automatically linked to the master record via the primary key.
My question is how can I link this into the existing master-detail data control so that I can drag/drop it to include id on the existing .jspx page and the primary key linkages will be handled automatically?

Thanks for the reply. The existing customer feedback view object displays the customer's text feedback (testimonials) - these will be displayed in a read-only table with multiple records.
The new view object aggregates the ratings score from the customer feedback (same FEEDBACK database table) and will use a form to display the results (not multiple rows.) The PK is included in the aggregate view object query.
Note there is already an existing viewlink between the PK (Master) and FK (Feedback) - in the data control, this viewlink is an instance of the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback View object. Now that I have created a third view object, should I create another View Link between the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback AVERAGES View Object? If I do this, how do I include it in the existing .jspx page? If I add this new View Link to the Application Module I will have two different Data Controls:
Data Control #1: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback View Object #1 (implemented as a master-detail read-only form/table on a .jspx page)
Data Control #2: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback AVG View Object #2
I'm confused as to how to integrate the second customer feedback view object into the existing Data Control / Master-Detail read-only form/table on my .jspx page?

i have two tables (clients) and (tests_administered)
the client table's region contains theses items
client_id
client_name
the other table's region contains these columns -- the tabular region
row selector
test_admin_id -- pk, hidden
client_id -- hidden , this is the one i should populate with values
and more columns
i've done this :
1- removed the condition of the tabular region .
2- Added the request CREATE to the list in condition of the APPLYMRU process -- or :request like ('CREATE')
3- Added new process with following code : -- with sequence before the applymru process and after process row of clients process

but nothing happened . why ? what did i miss ?

Create a Master Detail Form through the APEX Wizard
Make sure you choose the Primary Keys for the Master Detail as one of your Column and not the ROW ID.
Selecting an existing Sequence for the Primary Key is preferred.
Select the option the where your Master and Detail appears in the same page.
Initially when you run the page your master and detail will not appear at the same time in the page when your Master Detail Form is in the entry form mode. For this you have to go to your Tabular Form(Detail Form) region, and below you will have to remove the Condition for the display of your Tabular form and set it to “No Condition”.
Now when you run the page both the Master and Detail form will appear together in the create mode but you will not be able to insert or create both master and detail records at the same time when u click the create button. For this the following needs to be done: You need to create a PL SQL Tabular Form process :
Let's say your master form is based on DEPT and your detail tabular form is based on EMP. Make sure the following things are configured:
The DEPT insert/update DML process runs before the new tabular form PLSQL process. (ie) the new PL SQL Tabular Form Process that you create should be inbetween Automatic Row Processing(DML) and Multi Row Update Process , so create the new Tabular Form Pl SQL process with a sequence number inbetween these two Processes.
Make sure you choose Tabular form while creating this PL SQL process.
The new tabular form PL/SQL process executes the following as the source
:DEPTNO := :P1_DEPTNO;
Where DEPTNO is the Foreign Key column in the Tabular Form that links the Primary Key Item P1_DEPTNO of the Master Form.
Finally this new PL SQL process conditionally runs when DEPTNO is null, so you need to add the following condition to the process:
The final step to accomplish in creating both the Master and Detail records at the same time is to make a change in the condition of the Multi Row Update Process. :request in ('SAVE','CREATE') or :request like 'GET_NEXT%' or :request like 'GET_PREV%'
-We make this change so that records get inserted into the Detail table when we click the ‘’Create” button.
Now you can Run your page and create both the Master and Detail records at the same time.

Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Well, if you tell us your jdev version and what exactly you try to do, without just telling us 'as in forms' we might be able to help.
Most of us don't know how it's done in forms. So be specific when you describe your use case.

I tried use code of the book http://www.manning.com/sbe/ Chapter 22. But this book consists only code for rtf and they change size of JtextPane before printing.
I have found the bellow code;
