Master Data Attributes Not available in RSA5

Hi all,
i am doing master data loading for MM Purchasing
i am not able to find Master Data Attributes in RSA5
0INFO_TYPE_ATTR
0MATERIAL_ATTR
0MATL_GROUP_ATTR
0PURCH_ORG_ATTR
please tell me where can i find those missing attribures?

I usually just do like this in the datasource tree -> set the cursor on the highest level (SAP) -> edit menu -> expand -> use the normal search functionality.
But as far as I remember there are no business content datasources for 0INFO_TYPE, 0MATL_GROUP or 0PURCH_ORG because they all are just attributes.
If you just need to load the texts, there are text datasources available for all the objects.

Master Data Attributes not showing in InfoCube

Hi Experts,
I'm a little lost here. I have loaded the master data for a field ZPARTY(data coming from 3 non-SAP sources S1, S2 and S3) with all its attributes. I have actovated it and I see it as well in the BEx.
Now I have loaded related Transaction data and and I have ZPARTY in that InfoCube as well. Now I can see the attibutes showing up in InfoCube from S1 and S2 but not from S3.
I have deleted the data and reloaded it as well. I made sure that the SIDS get generated as well and I can see SIDs as well but I do not see the data from S1 for the master data attributes.

You can check the following things,
1) In the infoobject maintainance screen on the attributes tab, just check that attributes coming from S3 are marked as Navigation attributes.
2) Check whether they are time dependent or independent attributes.
3) Once you load all the data check it in master data view of ZPARTY infoobject and make sure that all the data is active.
4) If you are not able to see the data loaded then check the underlying mappings of infoobject from S3 to ZPARTY in transformation or transfer rule.
5) Finally in infocube check that you have marked all the navigation attributes available for reporting.

Extraction through master data attribute not working

Hi All,
In my ODS, i have a field Sales Document Item, with attributes ship-to-party, sold-to-party, etc.
Now, ship-to-party and sold-to-party are extracted using the update method master data attribute of Sales Document Item.
For some of the Items, the ship-to-party and sold-to-party are getting extracted properly, but for others, they are returned as blank; even though these records are present in the master data for Sales Document Item.
Kindly provide your inputs for this issue...

Master data attribute not updaing from PSA

Hi all,
I am on 3.5, and the have a custom attribute extension to the 0CUSTOMER object. This attribute is populated in R/3, and populated in the PSA, but not the object itself, or the master data table of the object (/bi0/pcustomer). Has anyone seen this before, or can anyone recommend how to trouble-shoot this?

Hello David,
Please follow as Sudharshan and Dennis suggested, along with that
1. Check which type of attribute (time-dependent/time independent).
2. Then search accordingly in the table p/q table of customer InfoObject.
3. Try to search in m table of custome (/BI0/MCUSTOMER).
Attribute change run for the particular master data is must to see the data in tables.
4. Just check the Infopackage settings whether the load is till PSA or which option is selected(just to make sure whether the data is loaded till master data tables)- My doubt is the data might be till PSA and not yet processed from PSA to InfoObject, and you are searching the data in master data tables ;-).

Master Data Services not available under shared feature while installing SQL server 2012

I am trying to install Master Data Services but do not see the option to select MDS under the shared features when going through the SQL server 2012 installation. I have the SQL server 2012 SP1 (64 bit) install files. I have also installed SP2. I havent
found anything online about the issue.

This might be a very naïve and also out of the original scope of the thread question.
We are thinking of going with the developer edition. We have 2/3 developers and some other testers and business users.
1) I understand that we need a developer license for each developer. But would we need a license for the business user. Can they have a sort of read access to the dbs?
2) If a developer has MSDN subscription, Would they need to purchase the license too assuming we purchase the developer edition of the software (and not download it using the MSDN subscription)?

Funds management data sources not available in RSA5

Dear all,
We have got requiremnt for implemtation of Funds management.
i have searched SDN for the same. my question is the data sources 0FI_FM_1 , 0FI_FM_2, 0FI_FM_31 ,0FI_FM_32 ....are availabel from help.
But in the system (RSA% )when i wanted to see these data sources then i cant find them.
what is the reason for that and how to go about it.

Master data tables not available after installing trail version sap abap

After installing trail version of sap for practicing SAP ABAP..i am not able to access master data tables like MARA EKKO etc.
Please let me know how i can access these tables data .
Is there any alternate to access these tables?

Hi Siva,
Master data table and any other application table are not present in trail systems. Notice that solely purpose of those trials is to learn/practice basis stuff and ABAP programming.
If you need to practice ECC's modules like FI, SD, ... you need to have an access to IDES system. For this you need to be SAP partner or customer.

Thanks for quick response. I have checked those tables. i found that i have same datasources as it is in RSA5.
For example: i have 0SALE_DIST_TEXT in both RSA5 and ROOSOURCE, how i can have the attributes for the same.
also i don't have attributes datasource for Customer Group1...5, Material Group1...5, sales office etc.,

DTP error: Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes

Hi,
I have a custom datasource from ECC which loads into 0CUST_SALES. I'm using DTP & transformation which has worked for loading data in the past for this infoobject. The infopackage loads with a green status but when i try to load data, the DTP fails with an error message at "Updating attributes for InfoObject 0CUST_SALES Processing Terminated" & the job log says: "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes". I've tried reactivating everything but it didn't help. Does anyone know what this error means? We're on SP7. Thanks in advance!

I have had this problem in the past (3.0B) --> the reason is that our system was too slow and could not crunch the data fast enough, therefore packets where loacking each other.
The fix: load the data into the PSA only, and then send it in background from the PSA to the info object. By doing this, only a background process will run, therefore locks cannot happen.
Fix#2: by a faster server (by faster, I mean more CPU power)
Now, maybe you have another issue with NW2004s, this was only my 2 cents quick thought

hi all,
i am installing the cube 0fiap_c03.when i am looking into the master data attribute(DATA SOURCES) for objects 0DUNN_BLOCK ,0DUNN_KEY, 0PMNT_BLOCK, 0PYMT_METH, 0SP_GL_IND in RSA5 they r not available.
but in my bw system the info sources r there for those objects.how can i resolve this issue.where to find them.
i need ur suggestions on this regard.

For those objects some one might installed all the infosources.
regarding datasources for those objects, check whether the required pathes are installed in r/3 side.

Webi error for master data attributes if universe is on top of BI query

We are using BO XI R2 SP5 integrated with SAP BI 7.0.
We have built a universe on top of a BI query and when we try to build a web intelligence report that includes master data attributes like Customer City,Customer Region etc BO throws the following error:
Error 1:
Database error: [SOFA Driver] : Error getting members for hierarchy (level=ZFI_I03/ZFI_I03_Q0003, member=[ZFI_I03___F172], opcode=[ZFI_I03___F172]) . System error in program CL_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA and form VALUEREAD-02- (see long text). Contact your Business Objects administrator or database supplier for more information. (Error: WIS 10901)
For a universe built on a different BI query with master data attributes mentioned above,a different error occuring.
Error 2:
Your Web Intelligence session has timed out. Log out and log in again to InfoView. (Error: WIJ 77778)
We have tried:
1) We have executed the function module BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_DIMENSIONS with necessary inputs query/cube and we got correct output, like members, optional properties, selected properties and restrictions.But, still our problem remains same.
2) Transaction u201CRSRTu201D and executed the query,transaction RSRV to check SID-tables and the related masterdata.
Above steps we performed in response to SAP tickets 541052 / 2009,541131 / 2009 based on logs generated,but still the error persists.
What is working:
If a universe is built on top af an infocube directly, then there is no problem with master data attributes in webi report.
Please let us know if you need more details to help us resolve this issue.

based on the MDX you can identify that those are navigational attributes and thats why the issue is not happening when talking to the cube directly because when you connect to the cube directly the navigational attributes are not available.
Take a look at note : 996197
not sure if it will solve the problem because there are other notes when you search for the error message but this was most of the times the one that resolved the issue.

A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage This is an Idoc error. Please check the Idocs :
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) Check in SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs and IDOCS.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.
SM21 - System log can also be helpful.

Define transfromation-As master data attribute

Hello experts,
I have a 3.5 data flow DS> TR> CS-> UR-> ODS.
In this flow there is a field 0WBS element mapped to POSID from source in TR and in the UR its a straight map to 0WBS element in the ODS.
I also have a ZFIELD in the ODS which has an UR as Master data attribite of above 0WBS element.
Problem faced:
Now I need to map the same in a new BI 7.0 System using transfromation (Creation of DSO done exactly as in 3.5 ).
DS--> TRANS-> DSO
Looking at the transfer rules and the Update rules I incorporated all the same as in the 3.5 system.
Now I face only problem with the ZFIELD taking master Data attribute of 0WBS ELEMWNT when I check my transfromations.
In the Transfromation 7.0 I directly mapped POSID to my 0WBS element and then for ZFIELD I am mapping to have the rule as attribute of 0WBS_ELMENT in the rule details.
I am getting the following error.
InfoObject 0WBS_ELEMT cannot be used to read master data
Message no. RSTRAN066
Diagnosis
InfoObject 0WBS_ELEMT does not have the correct attributes to read master data for the target field.
System Response
The entry is deleted and the rule is invalid.
Procedure
Enter an InfoObject that has the InfoObject from the target as an attribute.
When I check my 0WBS info obj I see my ZFIELD is available as the attribute..
Could anyone help me to fix this transfromation.

Maintaining Generic DataSources
Use
Regardless of the application, you can create and maintain generic DataSources for transaction data, master data attributes or texts from any transparent table, database view or SAP Query InfoSet, or using a function module. This allows you to extract data generically.
Procedure
Creating Generic DataSources
1. Select the DataSource type and specify a technical name.
2. Choose Create.
The screen for creating a generic DataSource appears.
3. Choose the application component to which you want to assign the DataSource.
4. Enter the descriptive texts. You can choose any text.
5. Select the datasets from which you want to fill the generic DataSource.
a. Choose Extraction from View if you want to extract data from a transparent table or a database view. Enter the name of the table or the database view.
After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the database view or transparent table.
For more information about creating and maintaining database views and tables, see the ABAP Dictionary Documentation.
b. Choose Extraction from Query if you want to use a SAP Query InfoSet as the data source. Select the required InfoSet from the InfoSet catalog.
Notes on Extraction Using SAP Query
After you generate the DataSource, you have a DataSource with an extraction structure that corresponds to the InfoSet.
For more information about maintaining the InfoSet, see the System Administration documentation.
c. Choose Extraction Using FM if you want to extract data using a function module. Enter the function module and extraction structure.
The data must be transferred by the function module in an interface table E_T_DATA.
Interface Description and Extraction Process

d. With texts you also have the option of extracting from fixed values for domains.
6. Maintain the settings for delta transfer, as required.
7. Choose Save.
When performing extraction, note SAP Query: Assigning to a User Group.
Note when extracting from a transparent table or view:
If the extraction structure contains a key figure field that references a unit of measure or a currency unit field, this unit field has to be included in the same extraction structure as the key figure field.
A screen appears on which you can edit the fields of the extraction structure.
8. Edit the DataSource:
○ Selection
When you schedule a data request in the BI scheduler, you can enter the selection criteria for the data transfer. For example, you can determine that data requests are only to apply to data from the previous month.
If you set the Selection indicator for a field within the extraction structure, the data for this field is transferred in correspondence with the selection criteria in the scheduler.
○ Hide field
You set this indicator to exclude an extraction structure field from the data transfer. The field is no longer available in BI when you set the transfer rules or generate the transfer structure.
○ Inversion
Reverse postings are possible for customer-defined key figures. Therefore inversion is only active for certain transaction data DataSources. These include DataSources that have a field that is marked as an inversion field, for example, the update mode field in DataSource 0FI_AP_3. If this field has a value, the data records are interpreted as reverse records in BI.
If you want to carry out a reverse posting for a customer-defined field (key figure), set the Inversion indicator. The value of the key figure is transferred to BI in inverted form (multiplied by 1).
○ Field only known in exit
You can enhance data by extending the extraction structure for a DataSource by adding fields in append structures.
The Field Only Known in Exit indicator is set for the fields of an append structure; by default these fields are not passed to the extractor from the field list and selection table.
Deselect the Field Only Known in Exit indicator to enable the Service API to pass on the append structure field to the extractor together with the fields of the delivered extract structures in the field list and in the selection table.
9. Choose DataSource ® Generate.
The DataSource is saved in the source system.
Maintaining Generic DataSources
● Change DataSource
To change a generic DataSource, in the initial screen of DataSource maintenance, enter the name of the DataSource and choose Change.
You can change the assignment of a DataSource to an application component or change the texts of a DataSource. Double-click on the name of the table, view, InfoSet or extraction structure to get to the appropriate maintenance screen. Here you make the changes to add new fields. You can also completely swap transparent tables and database views, though this is not possible with InfoSets. Return to DataSource maintenance and choose Create. The screen for editing a DataSource appears. To save the DataSource in the SAP source system, choose DataSource ® Generate.
If you want to test extraction in the source system independently of a BI system, choose DataSource ® Test Extraction.
● Delta DataSource
On the Change Generic DataSource screen, you can delete any DataSources that are no longer relevant. If you are extracting data from an InfoSet, delete the corresponding query. If you want to delete a DataSource, make sure it is not connected to a BI system.

the value of the characteristic is not available from the datasource fields..but it is a master-data attribute of one of the infoobjects present in the communication structure..
in such case..use this option..
example..u required contract-account in the cube..but it isnt available from datasource..but contract is present in datasource..and contract account is a master data attr of contract..
so this option will be used while creating update rule for contract account infoobject...MDA of (contract)..
