Master Data Attributes not showing in InfoCube

Hi Experts,
I'm a little lost here. I have loaded the master data for a field ZPARTY(data coming from 3 non-SAP sources S1, S2 and S3) with all its attributes. I have actovated it and I see it as well in the BEx.
Now I have loaded related Transaction data and and I have ZPARTY in that InfoCube as well. Now I can see the attibutes showing up in InfoCube from S1 and S2 but not from S3.
I have deleted the data and reloaded it as well. I made sure that the SIDS get generated as well and I can see SIDs as well but I do not see the data from S1 for the master data attributes.

You can check the following things,
1) In the infoobject maintainance screen on the attributes tab, just check that attributes coming from S3 are marked as Navigation attributes.
2) Check whether they are time dependent or independent attributes.
3) Once you load all the data check it in master data view of ZPARTY infoobject and make sure that all the data is active.
4) If you are not able to see the data loaded then check the underlying mappings of infoobject from S3 to ZPARTY in transformation or transfer rule.
5) Finally in infocube check that you have marked all the navigation attributes available for reporting.

please tell me where can i find those missing attribures?

I usually just do like this in the datasource tree -> set the cursor on the highest level (SAP) -> edit menu -> expand -> use the normal search functionality.
But as far as I remember there are no business content datasources for 0INFO_TYPE, 0MATL_GROUP or 0PURCH_ORG because they all are just attributes.
If you just need to load the texts, there are text datasources available for all the objects.

Extraction through master data attribute not working

Hi All,
In my ODS, i have a field Sales Document Item, with attributes ship-to-party, sold-to-party, etc.
Now, ship-to-party and sold-to-party are extracted using the update method master data attribute of Sales Document Item.
For some of the Items, the ship-to-party and sold-to-party are getting extracted properly, but for others, they are returned as blank; even though these records are present in the master data for Sales Document Item.
Kindly provide your inputs for this issue...

Master data attribute not updaing from PSA

Hi all,
I am on 3.5, and the have a custom attribute extension to the 0CUSTOMER object. This attribute is populated in R/3, and populated in the PSA, but not the object itself, or the master data table of the object (/bi0/pcustomer). Has anyone seen this before, or can anyone recommend how to trouble-shoot this?

Hello David,
Please follow as Sudharshan and Dennis suggested, along with that
1. Check which type of attribute (time-dependent/time independent).
2. Then search accordingly in the table p/q table of customer InfoObject.
3. Try to search in m table of custome (/BI0/MCUSTOMER).
Attribute change run for the particular master data is must to see the data in tables.
4. Just check the Infopackage settings whether the load is till PSA or which option is selected(just to make sure whether the data is loaded till master data tables)- My doubt is the data might be till PSA and not yet processed from PSA to InfoObject, and you are searching the data in master data tables ;-).

Master Data Attr not showing in query

Iam having some queries in Bex built by previous developer. We recently enhanced customer master by three fields. When I wanted to add it in queries, I can only able to see those address fields in one query rest of 5 queries are not showing the new enhanced attributes.in fact I cant see any attribute (eg: 0sold_to has 20 attributes but its just showing 0country as the attr) I dont know why the rest are not showing. Also, when I tried to create a new query, I can able to see all the attributes for 0sold_to , 0ship_to etc...but the existing query doesnt showing the attributes ? Does any body know why the attributes are not shwoing in current query / do i need to uncheck something / unhide something in Bex for the existing query...I want to add the new fields only in existing query,I dont want to create a new one...

Hi Sam,
If you go to the report and do Change query global definition then you should be able to see the new attributes on the left side of the query designer and then you drag and drop them on the right side. If your attributes are navigational then you will have to turn them on as navigational in the Cube/DSO too, then only you can see them in the query.

Master Data is not showing for 0Customer info obeject in the portal

Hi Experts,
I'm facing an issue with 0CUSTOMER Info object. When I tried to execute the query from Query designer(BI 7.0) it is not showing all the customers in filter for 0CUSTOMER in WEB but it is showing all values for other characteristics(i.e 0MATERIAL).
I tried to execute same query in Bex Analyser and RSRT but it is showing all the customers list in filter for 0CUSTOMER. I have this problem in WEB only
Please suggest me why 0CUSTOMER is not showing all the values in WEB.

in WEB, all values wont be displayed in single page if the list is too long, There will be a button to navigate to the next page and select. Please check that.

DTP error: Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes

Hi,
I have a custom datasource from ECC which loads into 0CUST_SALES. I'm using DTP & transformation which has worked for loading data in the past for this infoobject. The infopackage loads with a green status but when i try to load data, the DTP fails with an error message at "Updating attributes for InfoObject 0CUST_SALES Processing Terminated" & the job log says: "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes". I've tried reactivating everything but it didn't help. Does anyone know what this error means? We're on SP7. Thanks in advance!

I have had this problem in the past (3.0B) --> the reason is that our system was too slow and could not crunch the data fast enough, therefore packets where loacking each other.
The fix: load the data into the PSA only, and then send it in background from the PSA to the info object. By doing this, only a background process will run, therefore locks cannot happen.
Fix#2: by a faster server (by faster, I mean more CPU power)
Now, maybe you have another issue with NW2004s, this was only my 2 cents quick thought

After installation of R/3 ECC 5, some of the master data attributes datasources are not visible in RSA5.
Do i need to do any other settings to get them.

For example: i have 0SALE_DIST_TEXT in both RSA5 and ROOSOURCE, how i can have the attributes for the same.
also i don't have attributes datasource for Customer Group1...5, Material Group1...5, sales office etc.,

Webi error for master data attributes if universe is on top of BI query

We are using BO XI R2 SP5 integrated with SAP BI 7.0.
We have built a universe on top of a BI query and when we try to build a web intelligence report that includes master data attributes like Customer City,Customer Region etc BO throws the following error:
Error 1:
Database error: [SOFA Driver] : Error getting members for hierarchy (level=ZFI_I03/ZFI_I03_Q0003, member=[ZFI_I03___F172], opcode=[ZFI_I03___F172]) . System error in program CL_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA and form VALUEREAD-02- (see long text). Contact your Business Objects administrator or database supplier for more information. (Error: WIS 10901)
For a universe built on a different BI query with master data attributes mentioned above,a different error occuring.
Error 2:
Your Web Intelligence session has timed out. Log out and log in again to InfoView. (Error: WIJ 77778)
We have tried:
1) We have executed the function module BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_DIMENSIONS with necessary inputs query/cube and we got correct output, like members, optional properties, selected properties and restrictions.But, still our problem remains same.
2) Transaction u201CRSRTu201D and executed the query,transaction RSRV to check SID-tables and the related masterdata.
Above steps we performed in response to SAP tickets 541052 / 2009,541131 / 2009 based on logs generated,but still the error persists.
What is working:
If a universe is built on top af an infocube directly, then there is no problem with master data attributes in webi report.
Please let us know if you need more details to help us resolve this issue.

based on the MDX you can identify that those are navigational attributes and thats why the issue is not happening when talking to the cube directly because when you connect to the cube directly the navigational attributes are not available.
Take a look at note : 996197
not sure if it will solve the problem because there are other notes when you search for the error message but this was most of the times the one that resolved the issue.
the issue is in the BAPI functions

Error while creating Data Source for master data attributes

Hi BI Experts,
Well its been some time for me that I have been part of Extraction in BI.I primarily handled reporting in my last assignments.
I was trying extraction with flat files in SAP BI 7(new to sap bi 7 but very much familiar with BW3.5) but failed in the activity during master data attributes and text upload in infoobject (say IOSP_Mat).
Here is the procedure that I did after creation of characteristic IOSP_Mat.I created a source system for flat file followed by data source for Master data attributes, i selected all the parameters correctly.i.e. csv file format, data seperator as ,
and other settings, now when i am trying to look at the proposed data in the next tab using Load example data.its not showing the desired result.The columns that I have maintained in Flat File is MAT_NUMBER and MAT_NAME (with say 100 data in the file)
same is the result when I am trying to load the text data too columns maintained are
(LANGUAGE MAT_NUMBER Short Description)(same 100 data).
now i used to rsa1old transaction to upload the file using 3.5 version.i created info source for master data/text/hierarchies for IOSP_Mat
now when trying to upload it using info package for master and text data,I observe its(the data) not maintained in the characteristic IOSP_Mat.
When I monitored ,I figured the data has not been even uploaded to the PSA level.
Can you BI experts tell me the answer for this.

I have 2 InfoObjects ZPSCHRCHY and 0PROFIT_CTR from InfoCube WBS cost and allocations I want both the InfoObjects to be mapped to 0PROFIT_CTR attribute of 0WBS_ELEMT master data object, I have tried the Master Data Attribute but only 0PROFIT_CTR is an attribute of the Master Data.how can I mapped ZPSCHRCHY and 0PROFIT_CTR to 0PROFIT_CTR?, Is creating a start routine for it must be used? To enhance 0EMPLOYEE master data attributes, need to delete and load again?

Dear Support,
In order to meet business intelligence demands, I had three more attributes (region, time rate and worksite) to 0employee time dependent characteristic. The datasource to load 0employee attributes and its structure were enhanced to fill the new fields.
After first load, 0employee master data could not be activated. So I deleted 0employee master data, what I couldnu2019t do without deleting its data from transactional HR infocubes. I deleted transactional data and afterwards master data. I load it again and activated, with no errors this time.
This occured in development system.
Changes are about to go to production environment and deleting almost all transactional RH area infocubes and 0employee master data is something that we all want to avoid.
I am asking if there is a workaround in order to solve this without doing the stated time and resources consuming task.

Hi Andre,
You should be able to do a full load to achieve this. No need to delete the data. If there are corrupt data in BI with overlapping time periods, fix it by maintaining the master data. If corrupt data comes from source fix it in PSA.
Also you can specify to load the data for a time range only which might be easier than to load all history.

All master data values not shown in query selections

I have created a query on a BasisCube containing the InfoObject 0FUNC_AREA. I loaded data to 0FUNC_AREA and the cube.
I then created a query on the cube, in which I want to filter on 0FUNC_AREA. However, when I get the list of available values for 0FUNC_AREA not all the values in the master data is shown. It only shows 25 values out of 105.
As a default, the data shown is only the cube data, so I removed the tick in the checkbox: Show only InfoCube data. Still the same.
Then I went to the InfoObject and set the 'Query Def. Filter Value Selection' and 'Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn' equal to 'Values in Master Data'. Still the same.
Then I deleted the contents of the InfoCube. It still shows the original 25 values.
The really strange thing is, that when I go into the selection screen for 0FUNC_AREA in the BEx and limit the shown values to one of the values available in the master data but not shown in the list, it shows the text of the functional area in the limit summary window. But still when executing the limitation, it cannot find the value!!!
The problem is the same in LISTCUBE
I hope some of you can help we with this.

Hi Hari
1) Reactivated the master data, said it was already active.
2) Could see a difference between the data contained in cube and the remaining data. Otherwise not.
I deleted cube and master data and reloaded, the problem still persists. I am beginning to suspect a bug in BW.
I have to determine whether I am going to live with it (as it isn't critical, just a nuisance) or create an OSS on it.

Transofmration : Master data attribute

Hello,
I am on NW 2004S BI and ECC 6.0.
In the transformation rule types, i can not find "Master data attribute of" .
If this is the case in this version,in the infocube, how to load the data for a particular IO, which is an attribute of another IO ?
In the older versions, in the update rules, i can select either source, constant, master data attribute of,routine etc ..
Any advice?

Hi Ravi,
We have "Master Data Attribute" as a Rule type of Transformation in NW2004S BI also.
Where in the previous version BW3.x you have option to create the Master Data Read Rule only between
DataTarget to DataTarget
or
Infosource to DataTarget.
But, The New Enhancement of NW2004S BI is, Even you can read the Master Data Attribute in Transformation have builded between DataTarget (InfoCube or ODS) and DataSource also.
How to assign the InfoObject for Master Data Read?
Select Target Field.
Select the source InfoObject from where you want to read Master Data.
When you have to choose the "Master Data Read" as the Rule Type. Then You will get the entry block next to Rule Type.
Click F4, then it will give the Attribute automatically.
