Master Data BI Upgradation(2)

Hi Expert,
M in a project wher Upgradation is going on from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0
Right now I'm upgrading Master Data the process we are following is, we are preparing the transformation and DTP in parallel with transfer rule update rule of existing 3.5 system.
While Creating transformation for Profit Center M getting the error as
"InfoObject 0PROFIT_CTR not assigned to an InfoArea"
where as Transfer rule is perfectly ok in for the same info object
What may be the probable error?

2 Requests are transferred from a Flat File to the DataSource (PSA) and then to an InfoCube separately. After the second data load, the overlapping first Request loaded with the same selection criteria is removed from the InfoCube automatically. This is necessary, for example, if the source delivers the last status of the key figures only, like a Snapshot of the Source Data.
Tip:
It is recommended to configure the DTP with upload mode u201CDeltau201D. The deletion of the PSA data is necessary before each data load, if a u201CFullu201D DTP is used. A Full DTP extracts all Requests from the PSA regardless if the data has been already loaded or not. This means the Delta upload via a DTP from the DataSource (PSA) in the InfoCube is necessary, even if the data is loaded via a Full upload from the Source to the DataSource (PSA) by using an InfoPackage.

Unable to update item master data after upgrade

Greetings,
I have just upgraded from 2005A SP01 PL22 to 8.81 PL05.
After the upgrade, I am unable to update any field in the item master data.
Error message:
In "Warehouses - Setup" window, on "Accounting" tab, choose sales-type revenue account , '_SYS00000001165' [Message 131-52]
I have checked all the warehouses accounting tab and all the revenue account is a sales type account. I have also checked the GL for _SYS00000001165 and it is a COGS GL. After I change its type to "Sales", I am able to update. This shouldn't be the case.
I have also tested creating and update new item master and I have no problem. However, I will have the same problem if i add a new item via duplicating from an old item.
Any advice?

Hi,
Can you also check whether the Item which you are trying to update has Manage G\L Account by as Item, Item group or Warehouse?
If you have checked for the Warehouses, check for the Item Group and at the G\L Determination > Inventory tab as well.

--->now while creating DTP i II found in Extraction there are two option one is get all new request by request and Get only delta once
please advice what to choose as i have to do data validation as well i.e. i have to check all the data which are comming in BI with the data earlier was there in BW.
If possible please advice for both i.e extraction process and data validation as well.

It's not possible upgrade master data via DTW in SBO 2007.

Hi to everybody,
I was trying to upgrade de BP master data via DTW, but its not possible. I cheched the chechbox "Update" but I got an error saying "This entry already exists in the following tables (ODBC - 2035)".
The change I try to do is in the address contact.

Regarding this issue, please kindly check the following
-> Whether there are duplicated records in the import file. If there are two rows for the same name, please remove one of them and this file can then be imported successfully.
-> LineNum should be filled correctly. It should be sequential number which begins from the quantity of existing contact persons. For example if there are 10 contact persons for a specific BP, and you want to add another 10 new contact persons, the LineNumber should start from 10 to 19.
-> In DTW Wizard step 3, select the checkbox 'Add all Items into Schema if can't find corresponding item when updating' under Target Data tab. You can refer to Note 789315 for information on the functionality of this checkbox.

Security requirements to upgrade Master Data Services Database

What is the security requirements to upgrade an MDS database. When I choose Upgrade Database and after running the upgrade scripts I get the following exception:
Microsoft.MasterDataServices.Configuration.ConfigurationException: The user does not have access to the application.

Did the error happen right after the upgrade was done and was trying the open the Master Data Service(MDS) application? Could you please help to post the full(more detailed) error message?

Upgrade the DB from 2007A to 8.8 PL 10- Error in Fixed Assets Master Data

Dear Expert,
we r using smoothly Fixed Assets Add-on in 2007A environment, Now we are upgrade to SAP B1 8.8 SP00 PL10. When i view the Fixed Assets Master Data by choosing from List Its shows all of my master data list, but when i select any of them system shown nothing in FA Master Data form , please guide

Hi,
I think the addon is corrupted. have you reinstall B1 addon ? if you have reinstalled but it is still as same, I suggest to upgrade the B1 version and the addon to the latest i.e. SAp B1 8.8 SP00 PL16. You can also log a message to SAP support but test this case first in the SAP B1 8.8 SP00 PL16 environment.

Issues with Master Data Change Run after upgrade 7.3.1

We have upgraded to 7.3.1 on both our BW and ECC clients. When we first run out change run in BW it chose to drop and rebuild aggregates
on changes that usually don't cause a drop and rebuild. They usually do a delta.
Has anyone had this issue once upgraded?
We looked at our performance setting in SPRO for aggregates and the settings have not changed.

I loaded data for 0Material, 4 fields are not getting populated....when I checked in R/3 base table and RSA3, I am able to see data for those 4 fields. But in PSA and 0MATERIAL I am not seeing data for those fields.
THose 4 fields are Z fields mapped to Standard fields in MARA table.
As you say you can see the values of these fields in RSA3, We can rule out that the fields arent hidden. Check the mapping on the BI side, do you have all the Zinfoobjects added to the Omaterial and the corresponding mapping of source fields to target fields.
0CUSTOMER_ATTR has some data...I added new field in datasource as well as in BW also. After creating transformation I executed the DTP, it is throwing same error in every data package
"Record filtered in advance as error records with the same key exist".
Load till PSA is Init with data transfer and DTP is delta.
there are some duplicate records in the master data values that are coming in. You can manually change them in PSA and load. And if you are sure the duplicated records can be dropped, you can tick the HANDLE DUPLICATE RECORDS in DTP - update tab

Master data text after upgrade to NW700 SPS15 (SP17 for SAP_BW)

Basically all the Technical Names with an Underscore _ are replaced by $ symbol.
This issue as depicted here under appeared after the upgrade from BW3.5 to BI7.0, all Master data texts with Underscore __ appears as $

Anyway. I opened a oss message with SAP and they confirmed that RSA1OLD don't work but can only work with RSA1. The problem is at RSA1OLD and when you check dataflow in RSA1OLD, it gives error, while in RSA1, it works. SAP is working on this. Assume that they would correct it later.

"Export to Excel" does not work for query based on Master Data InfoSet

We have many queries based on InfoSet consisting 2 or more PS Master Data. After we upgraded from BW 3.1 to 3.5, the "Export To Excel" function no longer works via BEx Browser. It returns all blanks where master data should be shown. Only the non-data area like column headings are exported to excel.
Is this a bug introduced in BW 3.5?

Error while trying to add Master Data in S&OP

I have added Master Data in the past as well. Recently this system (Z45) was upgraded and the planning area was re-activated by my Project Lead. After the re-activation i am unable to add any Master Data and Save.

Error while deleting master data

Hello all,
i require some help.
i am unable to delete some record from the master data it gives me a message "y table for the characteristic does not exist". the master data object does not contain any navigational and time depended attributes.
the BW system is upgraded to 7.0.

Hello,
I've encountered issue during installation of SP1 to SQL Server 2012. After upgrade I'm getting this error in Event Log:
Script level upgrade for database 'master' failed because upgrade step 'msdb110_upgrade.sql' encountered error 537, state 3, severity 16. This is a serious error condition which might interfere with regular operation and the database will be taken offline.
If the error happened during upgrade of the 'master' database, it will prevent the entire SQL Server instance from starting. Examine the previous errorlog entries for errors, take the appropriate corrective actions and re-start the database so that the script
upgrade steps run to completion.
Can someone point me direction how I can fix it? This is a production server and currently only way to make it working is to use T902 flag in SQL Server startup params. I've found some suggestions to check Data path if it exists but it does so this is not
the issue here. Any ideas?

Before sending my message I've searched update script for "FROM master.sys.master_files" and I found script which you are showing me. I've made some digging and when I runned:
       SELECT physical_name
       FROM master.sys.master_files
       WHERE (name = N'master')
it returned also path to one my customers database name which has filename set correctly but it's Logical DB name is master and mastlog. I'm running shared hosting company and I allow my customers to restore their DBs from .bak files but I have no idea why
this customers logical name is set to master and mastlog. Probably when I change this names update script will work as it should. On the other hand in my opinion there should be some kind of fail safe mechanism for situations like this one.
EDIT: After changing logical name for DB and log for mentioned DB your script runned fine so probably now when I remove T902 flag and restart my SQL Server update will run correctly. Big thanks for resolving this issue.

Missing "Mapping entry" issue in tranferring Cust/Vendor Master Data

We are doing a version upgrade in one of our client for SCM APO (SCM 7.0 SPS 8). We are getting an error while transferring customer/ vendor master data (either in foreground or background) that "No location XXXXXXXX exists for mapping entry XXXXXXX of category 1011 (1010 in case of customer).

Please use the report ZMATMAP_REORG provided in note 859650 to remove the inconsistencies between /SAPAPO/LOCMAP and /SAPAPO/LOC.
The number of entries in these both tables should be the same.
I am not aware of your SCM Release, but it is also relevant for release 4.1, despite the info in the note.Please copy the report in your system and execute it firstly in the test mode.

Read master Data is not behaving properly

We have upgraded BI server with SAP_BW patch 17.
we have used Read master data rule type in the transformation to ODS and its giving proper output where as expected .But at the same time it also giving some improper out put ,means for those values which are not there in masterdata it is giving some wrong value , but while testing in to trasformation it is giving message for those entries that they are not available in the master data .What we did was loaded flat file for billing type in to Z infoobject contains two more info object in to attribute tab and in to those attribute through flat file we are loading some value and during transaction load we want attribute value to be filled for those biling type which were loaded in master data through flat file.
