Master Data Cannot Be Maintained

Dear All
I want to view the Master Data for the standard Object.
But when i right click the object and click on Maintain Master Data it gives the following error:-
"Master data cannot be maintained for characteristic 0CRMPROD_ID."
Please guide me on this.

Did u load master data into that Infoobject.
First load the master data using Infopackage after that you can check the master data by using
Right click ---> maintain master data.
Second thing is:
Is there any lock message if it is check the attribute change run job once.

While replicating the material master through R3AS I am getting an error for which the details to be checked in SMW01. In SMW01 when I selected the record for error details I am getting above error message. How to resolve ? Pls guide me stepwise. For your information I has cleared SMQ1 in R3 & SMQ2 in SRM
For curioisity next I selected all such error logs & deleted. It gave me one warning (some inconstinecies error) which I ignored. After that I checked SMQ1 of R3 & SMQ2 of SRM. No log
But I observed a strange thing. Whatever material codes I am creating it is going straightway to SRM without running R3AS transaction. I checked R3AM1, selected the row and cancelled. But still going without any interferrance. Why ? How shall I stop this.

Foreign trade data cannot be maintained in Billing Cancellation (S1)

I am trying to release to accounting a S1 document, but I am getting a foreign trade data error.
I went to maintain the header foreign trader data of the billing cancellation document (S1), but this section is grayed out
and the system wont allow change.
Is there any way I can maintain or fix this data, so I do not accumulate junk?
Any opinions appreciated

Thanks for the reply.
To add a bit more information, F1 document is released to accounting.
Foreign trade data was not maintained, and was able to be released to Accounting (along with CO-PA)
with no issue. It is just when this document was cancelled via S1 that the system started complaining about Foreign Trade Data.

Copy Material Master data - cannot copy "Proportion/Prod.Unit" view

Hello,
When I try to create material master data using the "Copy from..." option, data from the "Proportion/Prod.Unit" view is not copied to the new material. We are using SAP for Mill products.

Hello Joao,
There are two things, which have to be done :
The first thing of course is, that for the field MARA-KZWSM the field
"Propose Field Content from the Reference" must be set in transaction
OMSR.
The second is, that the user have to enter this screen, because if he
don't display this screen, then it is technically not possible to
copy the reference values.
(To copy this data from the reference material you have to go to the
subscreen SAPLMWSM 8030 and press enter).

Shift Minimum Plan end date cannot be maintained

We have a situation where we create teams and sub teams to use in shift planning and substitution in portal. While managers create minimum plan for their team/subteams to decide what is the minimum required strength in a team/subteam per shift, it is not allowing us to change the end date once it is created. It says "Can't change start and end date for reguirement XXXX"
Do I need to change any assignment options for this? Or where do I need to tune this for simulating it in R/3 or MSS?

Solved it myself, its an authorization issue since it worked when i gave sap_all to the employee. So we are identifying the right missing role.

Maintain out put device in your user master data

Hi Experts,
My invoice is not get printing, it is giving error as maintain an ouput device in your user master data
I have maintained output in SU01->user id->Default->printer name.
still invoice is not printing it is giving same error & if i directly give print it gives error

if I go in SP02 & check that spool request gives following error
Spool request 29,663 in system SPS is empty
If i send it by ZPDF it gives following error
OTF end command // missing in OTF data
Error in function CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF

How to Delete permanently an entry from an Infoobject - Master Data

Hi All,
I want to delete a entry = 014 in Infoobject = data provider since it is no more needed. **
When I go to this Infoobject-> Maintain master data anddelete it, a message Pop’s up
When I Check using Tcode SLG1, I see
When I check in SID table of the Infoobject, I see below.
How do I delete it? Please help.
**I need to delete it since we no more required this and we have created a new data provider (286) instead of this and the old one still appears in the reports :| with no data.

fallow the below steps while delete the master data.
RSA1 --> find your Info object --> right click --> maintain master data
Select rows you want to delete and click 'Delete' icon. Then SAVE.
If system prompt you message "some master data cannot be deleted"
Then goto tcode SLG1 --> enter Object: RSDMD and Subobject: MD_DEL and User: your userID and press F8.
In the next screen Expand node and double click 'Problem class additional information'
This will give you which ever objects using SIDs of this master data.
You should delete this SID according to that list.

BW Master Data for Customer Exit Variable Reference

Good day Experts,
I have several queries that I would like to remove the hard coding of values on to prevent yearly maintenance. In these queries there are two conditions each condition is on different key figures that is amount by year. The query is only to report on data that for the two amounts (separated by year) is greater than the specified values. I want to change the condition so the value is no longer hard coded so the query will role automatically as the time period changes. The year amount values that the condition will need to reference are not currently stored in our BW system. I would like to create master data that is maintained directly in the BW system for the amounts that a variable for the condition in the query can then access.
I know it can be set up as master data and then referenced through a customer exit variable but when I set up the master data if I do the Amount as a key figure I cannot maintain the key figure value for the master data manually in BW, if I set the Amount up as a numeric characteristic then I canu2019t directly use a decimal. Am I missing something in the key figure setup then referencing the key figure as an attribute of the year value or do I need to do it as a characteristic and use a conversion routine or something for data manipulation?
Can someone please give me some guidance to what the best way to do this is?
The data necessary master data for storage in BW is the YEAR and a single dollar value:
For Example:
Year          Amount
2009           101.50
2008          207.80
2007          807.40

I figured out that I can use an amount in the master data and maintain the amount manually as long as I use the amount with a currency instead of setting the currency in the key figure.

Unable to delete the Master Data

Hello Gurus--
How to delete the unused MD for an Infoobject,.
Unused MData were in A version in M,P and text tables.
Thru the program "RSDMD_DEL_PARALLELIZER" and "RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND" The MD hadn't got deleted.
Scheduled the above programs and checked the logs in SLG1 for both used and unused MD,.
The logs says that
a) Checked,.and I confirm that the unused MD is not present in any targets.
b) MD deletion hadn't happened for my unused MD.
--> The MD is in A version in the M,P, Text tables, if it is in M version these data can be deleted,,
Checked for the same in all the forums .
Couldn't able to find the same.

Select rows u wanted to delete and click 'Delete' icon. And SAVE.

Use Tcode RSRV -> Tests in Transaction RSRV -> All Elementary Tests -> Transaction Data -> Entries Not Used in the dimension of an InfoCube (Dbl Click)
From the right side window, expand u201CEntries Not Used in the Dimension of an InfoCubeu201D Node &
Enter InfoCube (like 0SD_C01), click u201CTransferu201D
Now, click u201CExecuteu201D (Toolbar)u2026 and the results displayed in the right side window..

Delecion of the master data

Master Data Deletion in parallel

Hi,
We have a lot of unused master data for company code char. I tried deleting the unused master data with the program RSDMD_DEL_BACKGROUND. But this program takes too long to run. I let it run for almost 2 days but it doesn't terminate.
It just keeps on running without any result.
Right now I am confused as to why the program takes so long if we have only 1900 entried in the SID table. We have fairly large amount of transaction data. (Total database of 4TB)
SAP has a note 1132444 where they have acknowledged this and have released a newer program RSDMD_DEL_PARALLELIZER. My question is, is it safe to run this program, if our SID table contain only about 1900 entries? Because i think this one mainly deals with the memory overflow caused by large SID table.
Any advise on how to proceed here?

Here is what I'm following to delete unused company codes (say 0001)
From maintain master of 0COMP_CODE, select only 0001 data and select all rows and delete (icon)... Since this master data is part of transaction data, a message prompts 'all master data cannot be deleted'.. Now check log SLG1
1). If the log (SLG1)says, SID exists in DIM table (like /BI0/D0FIGL_C011).
First delete (selective) that company code (0001) from cube (0FIGL_C01).. Then
Use Tcode RSRV  Tests in Transaction RSRV  All Elementary Tests  Transaction Data  Entries Not Used in the dimension of an InfoCube (Dbl Click)
From the right side window, expand u201CEntries Not Used in the Dimension of an InfoCubeu201D Node &
Enter InfoCube (like 0FIGL_C01), click u201CTransferu201D
Now, click u201CExecuteu201D (Toolbar)u2026 and the results displayed in the right side window..
Now, click u201CCorrect erroru201D (Toolbar)
Now, try to delete same 0COMP_CODE (0001), and if the log says SID used in some other DIM table, follow the above process.
2). If the log says, the SID used in DSO/Cube,
then goto manage (of DSO/Cube) and do the selective deletion.

Deleting the master data

When I tried to load an existing master data object ( 0VENDOR_ATTR), it is showing the following error.
Diagnosis
    The existing DTP requires a serialized update because fields are upda
    non-commutatively during the processing run (for example, MOVE).
    Therefore all new data records that have the same semantic key as
    incorrect records that have not yet been corrected in earlier request
    or earlier data packages of the same request, are filtered out after
    extraction in a special step. In this way the system ensures that
    incorrect data records are not repeated for your changes, which may n
    contain errors themselves.
System Response
    The data record is not updated but is written to an error stack.
Procedure
Correct all incorrect data records and update them using an error DTP.
How to correct 1 million records? and how to use error DTP.. When I right click on the Infooobject and tried to 'DELETE MASTER DATA", it is saying ' all master data cannot be deleted"..
How to procede further...

firstly I don't understand why you are posting a second thread regarding this issue...
secondly and as I explained you are pushing your whole PSA data from 0CUSTOMER_ATTR DSource into your vendor master; this means that you'll have duplicate keys (first because you have several requests in your PSA and second, depending on your transformation you may as well have one vendor for different customers...)
Please describe with more details what field from 0CUSTOMER_ATTR you did map to the 0VENDOR key; also the system is telling you that you need to serialize your request regarding the way it is processed in the diag processes; why don't you do so in the DTP settings??
I repeat also and again; your issue as nothing to do with deleting master data....
if you don't cooperate with us you won't get accurate support...

Impacts in COPA of changing material and customer master data

Dear experts,
In my company we are considering following scenario:
Currently mySAPerp 6.0 is implemented for all modules for the mother company.
We have developed a new global template where there are significant changes versus the existing system, especially in the SD processes. Material and customer master also change significantly in terms of content in the tables/fields and/or values in the fields.
The idea was to build the template from scratch in a new machine and roll-out all group affiliates, but now we are considering the possibility of making an evolutionary of the current system and try to stretch it to the processes defined in the global template.
The scenario we want to analyze is: Keeping same organizational structure in terms of Company code, CO area and Operating Concern in existing SAP client and make an evolutionary of the existing settings to the global template processes.
The doubts we are having are the following:
Changing material & customer master data: Impact in COPA
Option 1: Material master data and customer master data codes are maintained but content in the tables/fields is changed substantially, both in terms of logical content of specific fields and/or the values in the specific fields. We have following examples of changes.
Case 1: source field in material master changes logical content. E.g. Material master field MVGR1 is currently used for product series (design line) and the content changes to be the Market Segment. The product series will be moved to a classification field. At least 5 other fields are affected by this. How can data in terms of COPA line items be converted so that they are aligned at time of reporting?
Case 2: the source field is not changed so that the logical content of the field remains but the values change, i.e. for the same concept there will be different codifications. How can data in terms of COPA line items be converted so that they are aligned at time of reporting?
Case 3: Characteristics where currently the source material master field is a Z field and the derivation is via table look up and where the Z field changes to a classification field. How can you convert the existing COPA line items to ensure that attributes are aligned? Should new characteristics be created or just change the derivation logic of the characteristic?
Option 2: Material master data and customer data codes are re-created (codification of records is changed), meaning that new material and customer codes will exist and content in tables/fields is changed (as in option 1)
Case: material and customer codes are changed. How can data in terms of COPA line items be converted so that they are aligned at time of reporting?
Iu2019ve never phased a similar scenario and I fear that maintaining operating concern while changing source master data and also SD flows (we have new billing types, item categories, sales doc. Types, order reasons) may lead to inconsistencies and problems in COPA.
I would like to ask you experts if you have come across a similar scenario and if from your experience, it is something feasible to do or there are many risks involved. What can be the impact of this scenario in existing Operating Concern for both option 1 and 2 and what would be the key activities to perform to adapt the existing operating concern. What will be the impact of the needed conversions on P&L reporting?

Hi,
First i think you will need to test if it works for new COPA documents created via billing.
If it works fine then the issue is if you wish to apply these changes to the historical data already posted.
Normally there are transactions like KE4S where you can repost the billing document to COPA
However this may not be viable for bulk postings
You can perform realignment (KEND) but this only works at the PA segment level (table CE4XXXX)

What is the advantage in Maintaing the master data if it can be directly ..

Hi,
When looking for possible values in an object, I see that it has 20 possible values that can be selected while in BEx. But when I go to the object itself under the InfoObject tree(in rsa1), with a hope to maintain master data, I do not find "Maintain Master" in the context menu of the object.
1. where could the possible values that I saw in the report be coming from?
2. I understand it is possible that the object was filled as data was being loaded in some data target and that may explain why no master data was being maintained but it had values.
If that is the case, then, what is the advantage in Maintaing the master data (i.e. directly maintaing the master if it can be directly maintain through loaded files)?

We dont do master data distribution with customer system or vendor system.
Master data distribution is done between distributed systems of the same organization using ALE configuration. So we dont link to customer or vendor systems for transfering master data but for transfering transactional data like purchase orders or sales orders etc.
Master Data Distribution
Rather than distributing the complete master data information, views of the master data can be distributed (for example, material sales data, material purchase data). Each view of the master data is stored in a separate message type.
Users can specify which data elements in a master record are to be distributed.
Various distribution strategies are supported:
· Cross-system master data can be maintained centrally and then distributed. The final values are assigned locally.
· A view of the master data can be maintained locally. In this case there is always one maintenance system for each view. After the master data has been maintained it is transferred to a central SAP system and distributed from there.
Types of Distribution
· Active distribution (PUSH)
If the master data is changed (for example, new data, changes or deletions), a master data IDoc is created in the original system and is distributed by class as specified in the distribution model.
· Requests (PULL)
A request occurs when a client system needs information about master data held in the system. You can select specific information about the master data, for example, the plant data for a material.
If you want to be notified of all subsequent changes to the master data, this has to be set up manually between the two systems. It is not yet possible for this to be done automatically in the distribution mechanism in the original system.
Transferring the Master Data
A distinction is made between transferring the entire master data and transferring only changes to the master data.
If the entire master data is transferred, a master IDoc is created for the object to be distributed in response to a direct request from a system. Only the data that was actually requested is read and then sent. The customer specifies the size of the object to be distributed in a request report.
If only changes are transferred, the master IDoc is created based on the logged changes.
