Master data Full load to Delta load

HI
I have Order number (ZONDRNO)for this we are loading the Master data form BW to BW full load.
This Order number is Generi Data source
Can any one help me how to do master data Full load to Delta load.

Hi,
Firstly you are stating that you are loading from BW to BW. How are you doing it ? Are you doing through a datamart ?
Secondly you have also told that you have created a generic datasource so from this we can deduce that you are not doing a datamart load but you are doing through a datasource.
Thirdly to achieve delta for a generic datasource you should make sure that the datasource in question here is delta enabled.
Once all these are done all you need to do is a delta init and schedule further delta loads.

Each time master data full load removes previous data and load with new ?

We load company code (0COMP_CODE) master data (full load).
1st day, we check company code master data, the record count is 150, 2nd day, the record count is 90. It sounds like the master data full load each time would clean the previous data and load with new data, am I right? If what I guess is right, then what setup is controlling this?

I dont think it does cleanup.
MD records in the new load simply overwrite the records already present in the master data.
I mean if same record comes again its overwritten.If new record it gets added.
I wouldnt expect number of records to reduce drastically from 150 to 90.
Maybe before MD activation records could be more(as there will be both M(modified) and A(active) records).

Loading 0employee master data (full load)

0employee master data has been loaded several times in BW...it looks like sometimes the load runs and creates a new record eventhough the data hasn't changed. guessing this is because of the time parameter entered on the (infopackage) update screen?? How do we remove the duplicate records?

because its time dependent master data....check table PA0000....
hope it helps...when you are creating your queries you have to give them a key data...an employee might have worked in a particular department during a certain time and another department during another time...
begin date and end date are very important here...

BW - Delta for Master data not loading

Hello All,
I am not able to load delta for master data of vendor and material.
The initial load works fine but when I load delta it gives an error
" The extraction program does not support object 0vendor"
" ALE change pointers are not set up correctly"
Do i need to activate the change pointer in BD61. I was not sure so checking up with all experts.

Hi Ravi,
We faced the same problem as you for <b>0MATERIAL_ATTR</b> and we solved it by the following steps,
1. Delete the previous Delta Init for the InfoObject
If you have access to R/3 Side you can follow the steps or you can follow the BW Steps
Goto RSA7 ->Select and Delete the Init for the InfoObject
<b>From BW Side</b>
InfoPackage-> Inti for Source System -> Select & Delete
2. Execute the Init InfoPackage for the InfoPackage again.
3. After successful completion, execute the delta InfoPackage.
We have have got resolved by doing these steps and it may help for your problem as well.

Master Data daily Load Process Chain Error..

Hi All,
I have a process chain which is used to extract master data for 6 infoobjects ,all the Attribute data is delta and all the Text Data is full , now my proess chain suddenly failed on 9/09/2010 and from that day even when i try 'Repeat' the Start process is fine but the next process starts and then goes to 'RED' when i checked the error i saw the error message as 'Requesting the last delta for master data is not supported' . Can anyone help me with how to rectify this process chain when i check the IDocs i am seeing a error 'Code page not found' and also an error 'Update mode R is not supported by the extraction API'
Can someone help please ...

Make sure your last delta was sussessfull or not?
If not change the status of the failed load to red and try to reinti the load.
This problem occurs when we tried to request repeat delta for master data extractors, For Master data datasources delta updated based on ALE Change pointers. So Repeat can't be done if any delta load ended with error.
YOu need to reinitalize.

Error in Transaction Data - Full Load

Hello All,
This is the current scenario that I am working on:
There is a process chain which has two transaction data load (FULL LOADS) processes to the same cube.In the process monitor everything seems okay (data loads seem fine) but overall status for both loads failed due to 'Error in source system/extractor' and it says 'error in data selection'.
Processing is set to data targets only.
On doing a manage on the cube, I found 3 old requests that were red and NOT set to QM status red. So I set them to QM status red and Deleted them and the difference I saw was that the subsequent requests became available for Reporting.
Now this data load which is a full load takes for ever - I dont even know why I do not see a initialize delta update option there - can Anyone tell me why I dont see that.
And, coming to the main question, how do I get the process chain completed - will I have to repeat the data loads or what options do I have to have a succesfully running process chain or at least these 2 full loads of transaction data.

One interesting discovery I just found in R/3, was this job log with respect to the above process chain:
it says that the job was cancelled in R/3 because the material ledger currencies were changed.
the process chain is for inventory management and the data load process that get cancelled are for the job gets cancelled in the source system:
1. Material Valuation: period ending inventories
2. Material Valuation: prices
The performance assistant says this but I am not sure how far can I work on the R/3 side to rectify this:
Material ledger currencies were changed
Diagnosis
The currencies currently set for the material ledger and the currency types set for valuation area 6205 differ from those set at conversion of the data (production startup).
System Response
The system does not allow you to post transactions after changing the currency settings to ensure consistency.
Procedure
Replace the current settings with the those entered at production
start-up.
If you wish to change the currency settings, you must use programs to convert data from the old to the new currencies.
Inform your system administrator
Anyone knowledgable in this area please give your inputs.

Master Data Text Load Problem

Hi Guys,
This is the first time we are loading master data Text in the production for a infoobject and its a full load.I had sucessfully loaded the and it dint added any records but i can see so many transfer records.When i went to infoobject for my suprise i'm able to see the data.
Can i know the reasons what happened in the back and what can i do if want to see the added records in the Manage tab.

Master Data Sequence load

Hi guys i 've load data to an infocube and i have a lot blank records, i've read that this is because the master data not was loaded or loaded after transactional data, but my infocube have a lot of characteristics that have master data, is necesary to load every one before load tha trasactional data or there´s a way to load all the master data in one step instead of one by one?
I hope that somebody could help with this

Hi Oscar,
It is recommended that you load the master data before the trsancational data so that the data cna be activated i.e. Sids are created for the char values and ready to use at the time of transactional data load. Are you doing a lot of master data look ups in your update or transfer rules, or laoding the master data attributes to the cube? If not, then you really should not have "blank" values.
You can go ahead and load the master data after the transactional data too.
You do not have to load all the chars each time. You can set up the delta for the master data where possible. For others, you can judge whether they have to be laoded everyday or may be once a week or once a month.

Deleting master data after loading transactional data using flat file

Dear All,
I have loaded transaction data into an infocube using a flat file . While loading DTP i have checked the option "load transactional data with out master data exists" . So transactional data is loaded even if no master data is there in BW.
While loading the flat file, I made a mistake for DIVISION Characteristic where original master data value is '04000' , but i loaded the transactional data with value '4000' .Then i later realized after seeing the data from the infocube and deleted the request. then i reloaded data with value '04000'. Till now every thing is fine.
But when I see the master data for DIVISION , i can see a new entry with value '4000'.
My question is how to delete the entry value '4000' from DIVISION. I tried deleting manually this entry from 'maintaining masterdata' , but it is not allowing me to do so .
I have also checked if any transactional data exists for that value '4000' , as i said earlier I have deleted the transactional data with that values. even tried to delete the entries from the master data table, but i donot see a option to delete entries there.
Please suggest me on this.

Hi,
Goto RSA1 right click on the Info object and select Delete Master data. This will delete the master data unused existing in the table.
If this master data is not used any where else just delete the master data completely with SID option.
If even this doesnt work you can delete the complete table entire in SE14. But this will wipe out the entire table. Be sure if you wanna do this.

Can you please explain me this option in the infopackage " Load transactional data when master data is not loaded"....
Say i load a transactional data record which has a material no. AAAXX.
In the fact table, the material no. is replaced with the corresp. DIM ID.
Now, assume that there is no entry for this Material no.
AAAXX in the master data table...so no DIM ID for it..
How is it then stored in the fact table ?
Hope i have managed to explain the scenario..

No, if the entry for that Material Number "AAAXX" is not there in the Master Data then it will create a SIDs & DIMs ID for that & Transaction Data will be loaded.
Use
Choose this indicator if you want to always update the data, even if no master data for the navigation attributes of the loaded records exists. The master data is generated from the loaded transaction data. The system draws SIDs. You can subsequently load the master data.
Dependencies
The texts, attributes, and hierarchies are not recognized by the system. Load the texts / attributes / hierarchies for the corresponding InfoObjects separately.
This function corresponds to the update. Possible errors when reading the master data into the update rules are not associated with this indicator.
Recommendation
We recommended loading the master data into the productive systems in advance. Select this indicator especially in test systems.

How to load master data hierarchy load from BI to BPC 7.5 NW

Hi,
I am testing master data hierarchy data upload from BI to BPC. However when i run master data hierarchy mport package, it's always displaying a warning message saying that no records are returned from "Z_PFT_CTR" which is my info object name.
My transformation is as below.

Request Status for Master Data Attributes Load

Dear All,
We are trying to load attribute master data and volume of which is relatively huge around 10,000 records.
We are facing challenge while updating attribute data from master data info object , the load status remains in yellow status and when we went to details screen it states that data is transfered to transfer rule . ( it has been loaded successfully in to PSA).
Could anybody please give some hint on this challenge ??

You are right, as number of records are more , i have chosen update of "Only PSA" and then "Subsequently in Data Targets".
I tried other option also which is infopackage schedule "Execute in Back ground" and
"Request batch process runs untill all data is updated in BW". And process went in to infinite loop.
Some how i am not able to track out why the request status is not changing .

Master data text load failure?

Hi all,
My process chain for master data text has failed and i am getting the below error message?
error records written to the application log
error 4 in the update.

Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs and IDOCS.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.
SM21 - System log can also be helpful.
In your case it is probably because of invalid character issue.

I dont see any Process chains or manual loads to that.(No Trasnformations, Transfer rules nothing) But data is existing in the table. how is that possible. Now i want to load some extra records. How can i do that. Is there any way like writing a program enter the data?

If Those are maintained mannulyy it is possible as our experts said , right click on infoobject maintain master data --then u can enter the taext for that object and activate -- activate the master data.
Now i want to load some extra records. How can i do that. Is there any way like writing a program enter the data?
If you want to add some records( very less records and in future also not getting more records pertaining to that object) then u can maintain master data.
if not , u are getting data frequantly then u can load the data by using the data source( if it is from flat file create data source in BI system it self) if it is from r/3 create data source in R/3 as per ur reqyrement by using RSO2 tcode create Text data source and replicate the same in BI
and create the transformations between Data source and Info object and do the activationa nd create the DTP between Data source abd object and do the load.
