Master data loading with Time dependent InfoObjects

Hi
For product master, I have a infoobject Standard Cost, a time dependent keyfigure attribute.
How do I Load data for product master
1. From flat file
2. from R/3 Pleas provide steps to do on R/3 side

Hi,
Though you Material grade is time dependent and sequentially changing.
You can create 4 different DTP with Grade selection (only 1 Transformation).
For example, 1 DTP with filter Grade A, another DTP with grade B, so on.
and executive all 4 dtp sequentially and activate master data after every DTP run.

Master data records for time dependant data

Hi
In R/3. say master data has 1500 records. In BW, while loading this, i get the same number of records in monitor.
But when i check the maintain master data for this info object, I find each row being duplicated. The difference being the valid to and valid from date. The info object is time dependant.
So my question is: this adjustment done...is it ok continuing forward or do we change something now so that i dont see duplicate rows?

everything is ok here (I assume you have timeframes for e.g.: 01.01.1000 - 27.12.2005 and 28.12.2005 - 31.12.9999).
If you are working on developement system now - change something time-dependent in your master data tommorow (in your source system) and extract delta. Two new periods will be created and you will have 3 records, e.g.: 01.01.1000 - 27.12.2005 , 28.12.2005 - 28.12.2005 and 29.12.2005 - 31.12.9999.

ECC Master data does not time dependent

Hi,
I have a question . In ECC i have Functional Locational master data object which is not time dependent. Client need time dependent report in BW but they are not able to set time dependent in ECC. is there any solution in BW to convert normail object to time dependent Object.
Note: getting delta though funtion module.

SAP BPC 7.5 SP 7 - Master Data Load Detected duplicate member ID

Hi Gurus I have a requirement.
I am loading the Master data for Cost Center - initially while loading master data i didnot load hierarchy. Now I started to load the Master data with Hierarchy but when ever I tried vailidate the transformation file then it is throwing the "Detected Duplicate member "
Let me show you the transformation - what I wrote there

Let me show you how I have selected the Data type - Master Data /text from NW BW Infoobject
Selection of infoobject - 0costcenter
Format - External Format
Set Selection - first Tab - Attribute I only wante the Control Area which is 1000 so - Control Area = 1000
2nd Tab - Hierarchy - Import Text node - yes Hierarchy node - xxxxxxx Version - Empty Member ID - first member Level - Blank
3rd Tab Language - English
4th Tab Attribute list - Controling Area only is selected
Note: Let me tell you that when I am loading the Master data with out Hierarchy inthe Set Selection the loading is succesful but when I am doing it with the Hierarchy as mentioned in the 2nd Tab I am getting the error as following.
Master data (dealt by table level) has errors
Detected duplicate member ID '201100'
Also, the Master data for Cost Center in the BW is a time dependent so it is having Valid to and Valid from fields which is not there to be delt in the BPC.
Please Help

@Vinay let me tell you when the BW is having the master data which is time dependent then it will have this Duplicate member as we will have duplicate cost center names which are compounded with the Time, so BW will not show an error as there is compounding but BPC do not have that feature.
The was raised with SAP and they resolved this issue.

When running Data Manager Package 'Loading Master Data from BW
InfoObjects', 'Duplicate Members are found' error may be reported in below
case:
o In the source BW InfoObjects, there are master data that have
different lengths, and their IDs are all numeric characters. And
o If the members are sorted by their lengths first and then IDs gets
a different order compared with the one if they are sorted directly
by their IDs. Take member '122' and '1101' for instance. In BW,
they are sorted as [122, 1102]; if they are sorted directly by the
IDs, the order is [1102, 122]. And
o when running the package, the members are in both 'Attribute' and
'Hierarchy' selection, and the option Filter members by Attributes
or Hierarchies is used. And
o Select 'External Format' when running the package.

It's a program error.
Solution
Please apply this note or upgrade to SP11.
I hope this will help you else let me know the entire requirements so that I can provide some kind of assistance.
Do check how the master data in ur BW is then how the hierarchy nodes and costcenter nodes are there?

Data loads for the copied Infoobject?

Dear Bwers,
We have a need to make modifications to a standard content infoobject 0MATL_GROUP and chose to copy it (ZMATL_GRP) and make the changes to the copied infoobject.
How do i load this new infoobject with data? Do i create a export datasource from 0MATL_GROUP and use it or with the new infoobject ZMATL_GRP or is there any other way to do the daily master data loads to this new infoobject? Please give your thoughts on this.

You have few other options.
If you are in 7.0, you can use DTP.
If you are in older versions, then:
1. Make the -MATL_GRP as a data target and load from that ti your Z object.
OR
2. Bring the data of matl_grp to an ODS and include all your new attributes and from the ODS you can load to both 0matl_grp and to Z object. While doing so, you can set no update for the attribute that you dont want in 0matl_grp.
I will prefer the first approach.

Urgent: Master Data Load

I have activated some master data info objects but i cant find them in the infosource area to load master data (attrib, text and hierarchies) although in the info object definition the application component is displayed. Can someone tell me the reason behind this?

dear alise
while activating the infoobject make it 'data flow before and after' this will make sure its application area also been activated.
now coming back to ur query on master data load. once u activate infoobject with 'dataflow before and after', its infosource will also be activated from the content version to active, now in definition of infosource u will find communication structure and datasource assignement (for text, attributes and hierarchy) for the source system. Select them as per ur requirement, make sure field mapping is ok and activate Infosource for text, attribute and hierarchy.
Now u can create the infopackage for these elements (different infopackages for text, attribute and hierarchy) and laod master data to infoobject via PSA so that u can see the data in PSA.
confirm that ur data has been reached to the table properly.
i hope this could resolve ur problem.

Master data Load Failure

Hi All,
Could any body clearly explain the following options in the Info Package of master data Info Object with full update
Update data
1. PSA and then into Info Obejcts
2 . Only PSA   ( Update Subsequently in data targets )
      Data source trasfers no duplicate records
     Igonore double data records
While I am doing master data load with the 1 and 3 options I am getting same no of records updated in PSA but loadng is getting failured with the 1st option (Caller 01 02 .. 20 Messages ) .and request with 3rd option is success..

basically we are loading (update rule of )   0PAYROLL AREA ,
              at Master data attribute of we have 0EMPLOYEE
              at Time Dependency When reading Master Data END radio button is checked
              frm it is mention as 0CALDAY.
please explain what is function of 0calday here?
I understand that 0PAYROLL AREA is a attribute of 0Employee and since from R/3 we are getting only 0EMPLOYEE so we are filling it from 0employee but what is the significance of 0CALDAY here?

It fills the valid value of 0PAYROLL for a particular 0EMPLOYEE in a particular time frame.
Elaboration.
Say Employee          Payroll                  Valid from          Valid to
        RG                    1000000                 01.01.2007        31.12.2007
        RG                    2000000                 01.01.2008        31.12.2008
        RG                    3000000                 01.01.2009        31.12.2009
The if your transaction data has RG employee in it with a transaction on 0CALDAY = 12.05.2007 then the valid payroll at that time would be 100000.
On Calday 05.05.2009 your payroll would be 300000.........
So for different days different payroll values would be valid.
You require calday to find out which payroll value is valid in the timeframe of a transaction.
In your update rule it is bringin the value of valid attribute value for the time of the transaction.

When i loaded the data in infopackage the update tab has the following Time interval start date 19.07.2008 and end date 31.12.9999

Time dependant Master data load fail (Invalid time interval)

I have IO 0HRPOSITION which is time dependant master data.
When I load master data I have maintained from date 01.03.2007 to end date 01.12.999 in scheduler.
But there are some positions records in HR system which have from date less than 01.03.2007 and because of that master data load is failing everyday.
How I can load only those records which fall in-between from date 01.03.2007 to end date 01.12.999???

Compare two months with time-dependent master data

Hi gurus,
I have the requirement to make a query that compares values from two months but the key figures are restricted by a time-dependent atributte, I created a structure restricted with an Exit-variable that fills the month in course and the month before, the issue is that query designer only accepts individual variables so only one month displays data.
Is there a way to use several key-dates so the time-dependent attributes can be used for especific months?

Problem with Master Data Load

Dear Experts,
If somebody can help me by the following case, please give me some solution. Iu2019m working in a project BI 7.0 were needed to delete master data for an InfoObject material. The way that I took for this was through tcode u201CS14u201D. After that, I have tried to load again the master data, but the process was broken and the load done to half data.
This it is the error:
Second attempt to write record 'YY99993' to /BIC/PYYYY00006 failed
Message no. RSDMD218
Diagnosis
During the master data update, the master data tables are read to determine which records of the data package that was passed have to be inserted, updated, or modified. Some records are inserted in the master data table by a concurrently running request between reading the tables at the start of package processing and the actual record insertion at the end of package processing.
The master data update tries to overwrite the records inserted by the concurrently running process, but the database record modification returns an unexpected error.
Procedure
u2022     Check if the values of the master data record with the key specified in this message are updated correctly.
u2022     Run the RSRV master data test "Time Overlaps of Load Requests" and enter the current request to analyze which requests are running concurrently and may have affected the master data update process.
u2022     Re-schedule the master data load process to avoid such situations in future.
u2022     Read SAP note 668466 to get more information about master data update scheduling.
Other hand, the SID table in the master data product is empty.

Thank for your help, but I was applied your suggesting. I sent to OSS with the following details:
We are on BI 7.0 (system ID DXX)
While loading Master Data for infoobject XXXX00001 (main characteristic in our system u2013 like material) we are facing the following error:
Yellow warning u201CSecond attempt to write record u20182.347.263u2019 to BIC/ XXXX00001 was successfulu201D
We are loading the Master data from data source ZD_BW_XXXXXXX (from APO system) through the DTP ZD_BW_XXXXX / XXX130 -> XXXX00001
The Master Data tables (S, P, X) are not updated properly.
The following reparing actions have been taken so far:
1.     Delete all related transactional and master data, by checking all relation (tcode SLG1 à RSDMD, MD_DEL)
2.     Follow instructions from OSS 632931 (tcode RSRV)
3.     Run report RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL from tcode SE38 (using both check and repair options).
After deleting all data, the previous tests were ok, but once we load new master data, the same problem appears again, and the report RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL gives the following error.
u201CCharacteristic XXXX00001: error fund during this test.u201D
The RSRV check for u201CCompare sizes of P and X and/or Q and Y tables for characteristic XXXX00001u201D is shown below:
Characteristic XXXX00001: Table /BIC/ PXXXX00001, /BIC/ XXXXX00001 are not consistent 351.196 derivation.
It seems that our problem is described in OSS 1143433 (SP13), even if we already are in SP16.
Could somebody please help us, and let us know how to solve the problem?

How to Load the Master Data for custom defined Z infoobjects?

This is the requirement.
Some screen enhancements has to be made by adding new Custom fields( like two text boxes,eg Name and city ) in such a way if we enter data into that text box,that data value for both of the Enhancements has to be stored in some table.If this data is a master data,then how would I pull this master data into BW.
Please someone throw some light on this problem.
Lets say a Screen is enhanced with NAME and CITY with text text boxes.Let the user enters the value for NAME and CITY.Let them be stored under two different tables ZTAB1 and ZTAB2.How would I load this master data into custom Defined Z infoobjects ZNAME AND ZCITY in BW.

you can by creating generic datasources on thoase tables with Full load or delta.
if the number entries is less.. you can try full load...
if it is more... along with required fields...put date also as one fields. which needs to get date of execution of program or date of uploading to Tables. this will be useful build Delta Mechanism.
