HI,
On the R/3 side go to Transaction RSA6 and search for 0CUSTOMER and 0MATERIAL for cust and mat datasources. If you cant find them, then goto RSA5, search for the same and install them. After installation you will be able to find the datasources in RSA6.
Once the datasources are installed on the R/3 side. They need to be replicated on the BW side. Once you have replicated them on the BW side, they will be available in BW.

Query on Master datasource enhancement

Hi BW Experts,
We have Employee master datasource i.e 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR.In extract structure of 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR i saw customised fields prefix with YY . Can i see these fields in BI Server as Infoobjects with same prefix YY? .But i am not able to see those in BI Server? Instead of YY i saw those fields Created with Z in infoobject menu of BI Server.Can i map those?
Could you please tell me the reason ?

It's depends on the naming conventions that your project followed for customized objects
In R/3 we refer them as Source fields , In BW we call Info Objects which we need to map source field -> Info object
You can create Z** Info objects in BW based on source field data types and map them in transformations
Ex. YYABS source field --> ZYYABS BW Infoobject

ISU Utilities Master datasources

Hi All,
In ISU- Utilities there are master datasources as Time dependent & Time Independent. Take the example as Contract account master datasources, which is having both time dependent & time independent datasources.

Which one we need to take as both the datasources are extracting data from different tables?
Need your help on this. Anyone who has already worked on ISU Utilities projects, please guide us.

My answer is two-fold:
1) Have you looked at the time-dependent source table(s) to see if you actually have time-dependent data in your source system? If there is no time-dependent data, you have no choice but to use the time-indepedent data.
2) What are the end-user reporting requirements? If there is time-dependent data, will they require that reports reflect Master Data Attributes and/or Texts based on dates in the report, or will the current Master Data Attributes and Texts be sufficient? If the time-dependent data exists, the end-user reporting requirements should dictate which solution you would choose for this scneario.

Query based on Master datasource? - URGENT

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to create a query based on MASTER Datasource(Z master datasource)? if possible then how we can go or are there any setttings?...i got confused here..

If you mean an Infoobject masterdata record, you need to change the IO, Mater data/text tab, check charachter is data target/Infoprovider flag an activate the IO.
Now you can use it in BEX

Delta problem for enhanced field in master datasource

Dear Experts,
I have a master datasource 0customer_attr. I have enhanced it with field sales group. Daily delta comes for this datasource.
But when user changed sales group for a customer from s1 to s2 then it is not coming in delta.
Still there is old sales group exist in BI for particular customer. In short , delta is not coming for enhanced field.
Please advise what should i do ?

The problem is that no delta is posted to the message type for KNA1 in the bdpcv/s tables because the orignatting field is a KNVV field
So if KNVV was changed ie sales group it will not post a ale change pointer for KNA1 therefore the delta for KNA1 will not pick up any change
However if there was a change to KNA1 on the same day as the KNVV changwe then the delta will pick up the change
The way to get around this is to either use a KNVV delta datasource into BW and then enhance 0Customer that way via transformations into the customer infoobject in BW only
Or to put a user exit into the KNVV change on R3 to generate an ale change pointer for KNA1(ie every change in KNVV will generate a change in the KNA1 extractor)

How do i assign master datasource to my generica datasource

Hi All,
I got confused when linking master datasource to Generic datasources.
I have created a generic datasource using View in CRM system (tables - CMSD_CB,CMSD_LO_QUANT AND CMSD_LO_PRICE) and replicated in bw.
all records are coming to BW system and it is working fine.
We want to link master datasources- 0ORGUNIT and 0BPARTNER because commission analyse is done based on Sales Representative(business partner number) wise quantity and price.
- 0ORGUNIT will give all CRM and R/3 sales offices, sales group...etc
- 0BPARTNER will give all business partner ..etc
Could some one help me how to proceed/.

Hi Mahantesh,
Since SAP is already giving you the datasources, why don't you join the data togther into a ODS table or create a InfoSet that shows the join for you. Cheers! Bill

Master datasource delta problem.

Hello,
We are in process of implementing logistics module for our client. We are in BI7 and using all BI7 data flow for master and transaction data .
While working with all master datasource which is supporting delta functionality, we have faced following issue. All this datasources are based on ALE pointer. somehow we are getting the same number of records in delta load...basically it is bringing the same records in delta load everytime.
E.g - 0CUSTOMER_ATTR . when i extracted the data first time in delta load, it has brough 1200 records and from that day it is bringing 1000+ records in delta load. even if i start the delta in one min, it is bringing that much data. I am very confident that, there is not much changing in ECC ..but here it is bringing it from change pointer table and not updating the same table once the extraction is completed.
When we dig into this issue, we realize that, somehow change pointer is not getting updated in change pointer table . We haven't changed anything in standard extractor but still it is happening with all master datasource (delta based ) extractor .
Can you please help me solving this issue ?

Master Datasource Update for custom fields

I have a standard master data source for 0customer, I need some custom fields that are enhanced in the same SoURCE TABLE KNA1. please let me know if
1. i can create the generic data source Z_DS_CUSTOMER for custom fields only from KNA1
2. Create transformation 1 to Map the data source Z_DS_CUSTOMER to Ocustomer to load the custom fields only and set no transformation for other standard fields
3. Create transformation 2 to Map the data source 0customer_attr to same Ocustomer to load the standard fields.set no transformation for other custom fields
4. Then Load via DTP Standard fields first via transformation 2
5. Then Load via DTP custom fields first via transformation 1
Will the above will work fine, and I can avoid any enhancement to master datasource 0customer_attr
please help me with solution.

Please tell me what is the need to do all the above why can't I feed directly the Infoobject with the below PLEASE tell me what will be the bad impact on design if I do the below.since my client is asking justification for build of each BI object

I am not going for enhancement since it is not populating the datasource in rsa3. if you can correct that it would be great.
I have the same code for all custom fields none of them is working no records are pulled in RSA3 For custom field ZZSTAT.

Master Datasource is not found in Infosource and infoobject?

We have master datasource in source system,replicated in BW system and it is available but it is not available in Infoobject and infosource...
could some one help what is the procedure we have to follow.

Hi Mahantesh,
you cannot find any datasource in Infoobject and Infosource pages...just go to the infosource or infoobject you want to link to your datasource, right-click on it, assign datasource!

Loading delta to master datasources

Hi All,
I am a begineer in SAP Bi,can anyone tell how to load delta for master data sources.i am in an implementation project and while loading master data found that some datasources have full updatet and some have init update,so my doubt is how can we load delta data to full update datasources..And i know about attribute change run,do we execute attribute change run after getting the delta load ??/

Hello Star,
If you want to change the update of Master data datasources from FULL to DELTA, for that you need to check whether datasouce is compitable for DELTA, then only you can perform delta Loads to the corresponding master data datasources.
For Checking the Delta Compitabilty, please check this in T-Code RSA6, Once you open the Datasouce.
If you are changing it from FUll to DELTA, then please Init with out data and then it gives delta option in the Infopackage.
It really does not matterfor FULL or Delta, we should perform attribute change Run , this for Aggregates adjustment for newly created Master data.

Enhancement of Master DataSource

Hi Experts,
I got to enhance a master data source 0SALESDEAL_ATTR which is based on the view V_KONA_SALESD. Now the field I want to add is not present in the underneath table and hence in view. Also the extract structure being view, system threw pop-up saying CustApp will not be allowed for this DataSource.
Though I've worked a lot in BW, not sure how to go about it in ECC (R/3). Please help.

Just have quick look wih the following steps
Go to RSA6 of R/3 or ECC system double click on the data source for which your planning to enhance
again double click on the extract structure name it will take to you the structure there click on the append buttoon which is present in the top right and then select if any strucre is avilable if not then create a new append strcture then include the new fields ZZ* fields do nt foget to place the component which is corrosponding to the field and present in the DB table and then try to activate it . I guess in your case you may be missed up the comopnent type/field type thats why its strucking you up..

Master datasource to ods through flexi update

hi
i tried to load master data from r/3 using standard master data datasource to ODS object through flexible update. i created infosource in bw and assigned it to the datasource. after that i created ods based on the infosource when i tried to activate the ods its asking for delta field. i need to add 0recordmode in the infosource if it so to which field of the datasource i have to map it.how to do it?

Hi Rajan,
infobject 0RECORDMODE is needed for the delta load and is added by the system if a DataSource is delta-capable.
In the ODS object the field is generated during the creation process.
If in your datasource (it's a master data datasource!) there is no 0STORNO (and, consequently, no ROCANCEL field), let 0RECORDMODE not mapped and, in your update rules, always use 'overwrite' as update method !
To call up documentation on 0RECORDMODE (BW Delta process: Update mode), call Transaction SE11, display data type RODMUPDMOD -> Pushbutton Documentation.
Here you will find more useful information on the five possible features for InfoObject 0RECORDMODE (space,X,A,D,R).

I have enhanced standard master datasource , How to load the Text for it?

Hi Experts,
I had enhanced 0MATERIAL_ATTR with ZTGRM field.User exit is written and the data is populated and checked in RSA3.
Replicated,loaded in BW side.Activated the master data.It shows only the attribute not the text.
Tried loading 0material_text and loaded successfully, activated but while maintaining the master data , i can able to see only the attribute values not the text.
Can any one help how to load the text for the enhanced attribute?

Hi Tony,
Loaded the 0MATERIAL_TEXT ,also sucessful.
After loading activated the 0material but i could only see values for 0material_attr not for the 0material_text.
Can you tell me how to load the text data to the newly enhanced attribute???

Project System - Master datasource

Hi BW Experts,
I am little confused about WBS Element (PSPNR and POSID). For Project System related reports, the most of the time common field is used as PSPNR. I have checked in all the datasources and it is not found.
Can you briefly explain what is the difference between PSPNR and POSID. And how to use PSPNR in BW..

Please check table PSPR in ECC. There you will find the values. PSPNR is WBS Element Number whereas POSID is WBS Element Name. You will find some clue there.
