Master File Windows Codec and HDV alternative?

I've recently switched from MAC to Windows! Here is my issue.
TV Station encodes anything I give them into an 1920x1080 .mov with an HDV1080i60 Codec 29.97 fps
I have been able to deliver that spec on my MAC; however, switching to windows HDV codecs are unavailable.
What I would like to do is the following:
From my windows machine encode a "Master File" that is highest quality possible.
And I can take that Master File and open it in my MAC and encode to the TV HDV spec (Above)
Does anyone have a suggestion for the Master File Codec to use in windows?
or......
Another suggestion with less steps?
Useful notes:
The original footage is shot in AVCHD 1920 x 1080 at 29.97 fps 1080i (panasonic)
This footage in my project is also mixed with Motion Graphics and Animations and Misc Commercials from sponsors that are in .mp4 and h.264 codecs.
My final output goal is .mov 1920 x 1080 with HDV1080i60 codec at 29.97 fps AND a "MASTER FILE" that can be edited and encoded later.
The TV station will accept an mpeg2 file which is a lesser quality version of HDV (YES, i realize windows can create this codec; however, when this is transcoded with the TV station software called "FlipFactory" it doesn't look good, and my graphics and explosions, etc are pixelated when Broadcast) Not cool with me for how many hours I spend making the graphics.

Steven, the HDV1080i60 codec is only available if I install FinalCut Pro X (The version I have) on my mac. I'm not sure if you're meaning the spec of the codec itself? or the spec from the "Engineering Team" at the TV station that specifies HDV1080i60 I'll put all the screenshots below. FYI I'm on Episode 34 I have tried many different formats all the way up to episode 25, until finally the Engineering Team at the TV station told me that they use a program called "FLIP FACTORY" which takes all the formats they receive (Which is many different formats) and it transcodes them to HDV1080i60.mov file As soon as I had this information, I just started encoding to that spec. This caused a beautiful picture that scales correctly out in TV land on DirecTV Dish Comcast and Antenna SD Channels. It looks excellent.
I believe there is a difference between the old HDV Camcorder and the Apple intermediate codec HDV.
@ Ann Bens Yes, it is indeed possible. I put a small screenshot of my inspector that shows my episode that will air tonight is a Quicktime .mov with MPEG-2 Codec (Specifically HDV1080i60) codec

Error in unattend file windows 8 and 8.1 sysprep

Hi,
I am using MDT 2013 and ADK 8.1. I am trying to deploy Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 base image. Once the PC has finished imaging and starts the first boot it come up with the following message:
"Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The setting in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup]."
I have not created any answer files, I think this is created automatically my MDT when you create a Task Sequence.
I am not trying to deploy a custom image, this is the base image that was taken off the DVD and imported to MDT. When I use the DVD to install the OS it works fine but not through MDT.
Any help will be much appreciated..

Check your dism.log
You can find it on your client: C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
This will tell you exactly which setting cannot be parsed.

When I attempt to open a new private browsing window, an "Index to file" window opens and shows everything on my hardrive.Concerned for security. What can I do?

When I opened Firefox prior to the update, my homepage had an address "file:///" and labeled "Index to file". the window showed all my hardrive files with links to other files. Concerned for security, I contacted computer support where I was told it may be malware. They cleared my caches and updated my operating system. When I updated Firefox and clicked on the private browsing icon (mask icon) The index to file window showed up again. What do I need to do to stop this from happening?

Executing JAR Files Windows 98 and XP

Hey can someone please help me.
I made an executable jar file the extract contents of a jar file. In windows XP it runs fine, however in Widnows 98 it does not, has anyone come across this problem? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well When I try, On a windows XP machine it shows the progress bar I made, and extracts all the files to the c drive. On Windows 98 It shows the progress bar but will not extract the files to the c: drive folder.
The program simply gets all the files that are within the jar file, and puts their names in a Vector, then takes the names from the Vector and Extrats the ones that need to be extracted.
Any other Ideas, I know this sounds very wacky thats why I am in need of help.

Windows XP and HDV Capture

Does anyone know if HDV Footage can be captured using Quicktime 7.6.6 on Windows XP?
Going on a trip and I don't want bring my new Mac book pro but I have an IBM think pad 1.86 GHz and 1 Gig of memory, it may be sufficient to capture HDV from my Canon Vixia 30.
Any information would be appreciated.

QuickTime for Windows cannot do video capture at all, if by that you mean live video import and recording, only audio capture.

AS3: Loading External Text into a Master File

I have a master file that I want to load an external text
file into. This external text file will also have an external style
sheet applied to it.
In your opinion, which way is best to load the external text
file?
1) Generate a text field dynamically in the master file using
the TextField class and then loading the external text in.
2) Placing (at authoring time) a dynamic text box on the
master file's stage and loading the text in.
3) Placing a dynamic text box in a separate .swf file and
then loading that external swf in to the master file, then loading
the external text into the text box.

On my project im going with the third choise, dont ask why,
cause i just do.
only difference is that i also lad my data into this external
swf file.
in other words i use mainly second as well as im going with
the third one.
In my opinion, no idea if thats the best way, but i certanly
know that its (for me) most confortable way.

Sharing FCPX Pro Res 422 .mov master file with both Ps and Macs

I'm using FCPX 10.1.4 on Mac OS 10.10.2. I want to put a FCPX Pro Res 422 master file on a data DVD so it can be read and poled on both a Mac and PC using Quick Time 7. I tried using Toast 12 to create a data DVD playable on both a PC and Mac but it would not open on the PC. Any ideas what the problem might be or an alternative way to do this?

One additional possible point of confusion: I think you wrote (or meant to write) "so it can be read and played."
A playable DVD is a very specific standard of filenames & compression sufficient to fit a two hour movie into 4.7GB of standard def video. Simply writing any video file onto a disc (maybe marked as "DVD-R") never creates a DVD that is playable in standard DVD players.
Given that, you can transfer any file (up to 4.7GB) by writing it onto a data "DVD" disc. However, as others point out, ProRes isn't windows-friendly (or good for small files) and just for seeing the video on other platforms, H.264 would be the right choice.

I am trying to export a video I have made in FCP 10.0.8 to Youtube or to a master file and I keep on getting an error -50, or "error exporting master file at frame 20074" Any ideas?

Having used FCExpress for a while I decided to give FC Pro X a trial, I created my first video with it, exported to youtube and it worked fine. I am now trying to export my second video to youtube and I get an error -50 which means absolutely nothing. Not being defeated that easy I tried exporting to a mster file using the H.264 codec and I get an error "exporting master file at frame 20074" - again another useless error. It takes at least 10 minutes to get to this error after the rendering has started, it gets about 12% in. Any ideas where to start - I am seriously at the point of giving up with Final Cut Pro X simply on the basis of it being more trouble than its worth - I am just glad I did not pay for it yet...
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec. I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app. Any ideas?

Trying to link large file to email. keep getting asked for master pw to security device. I have changed master pw on firefox and TB but still same response.

I have tried over and over to send this large file. I've never synced before so i got that all set up. Then asking for master passwork to security device. Don't think I had ever set up an account so did that and created password. When trying to send the email I ask to link it goes to 'box' and I authorize thunderbird to use use it. then it ask for master password and I type that in and it doesn't work. I have reset master pw for firefox and thunderbird and still can't get it to work. I really don't know what I am doing here so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It contained some information about what to do if TB keeps asking for a 'Master Password' which was never set. This was an old bug that was resolved years ago, so it is surprising you are getting it assuming the Thunderbird Master Password was never set.
However, your comments are confusing because they are conflicting; in your question you say:

This implies you set a master password in Thunderbird and changed it, but in last comment you say you never defined it:

Appending Tiff files works on Windows 7 and Windows 2012 but doesn't work on Windows 2003 and Windows 2008

HT2470 how would i go about taking multiple files from documents and make them part of 1 master file

how would i go about taking multiple files from documents and make them into 1 master file? I want to put all documents associated with this project together for easier access.

From the finder window, click File, click new folder, you can drag all documents into that Folder making it the master folder. You can ajso drag folders into the Master folder, and have them as sub-folders if you wish to do that. Either way they will all be in one master folder.

So according to this i found these files,please tell me which one i require. second thing i am not able to find instalation master DVD in it.So which file is best for my environment.

Sharing Windows 7 and SL Files

I know that there are a number of threads touching on this subject but nothing has helped me so far.
I have a MBP and iMac both running 10.6.6. I have Win 7 installed on both in Bootcamp. I have never been able to share files between Win 7 and the Mac OS between the MBP and the iMac. I have followed various instructions on setting the sharing, netwrok and account prefs on the Macs and the Win 7 permissions settings. I have even followed the guidance on changing the security encryption settings on Wind 7. I am sure that I have in the past been able to access the Win 7 shares from the Macs but never the Mac shares from the Win 7...........but I admit that I am now so confused that I could be imagining this.
Can anyone make some suggestions/point me in the direction of some decent guidance/confirm that it is a myth that you can share files across these 2 systems/recommend that I contact the tooth fairy as he is the only one able to grant my wishes!

This isn't really an area of expertise, but I do seem to recall that with Windows you needed to designate a shared folder in order to share the files, but that was probably way back with XP. I don't know if that's still an issue with Win 7. Here are a couple of other things I found that may help:

If your network complies to the minimum requirements described below you should be able to share resources without any need to enter commands in the terminal to modify configuration files in your mac.
Requirements
1. A decent router
2. Mac Os x 10.5.1 installed on your macs
3. Windows XP or Vista
4. Number of network devices <10
5. Some network printers or drives (NAS)
6. A decent ISP offering a good DNS service
General Settings
If your router offers DHCP and any of the device has power saving features there is a risk that the IP addresses are renewed. This can be problematic as the devices keep changing IP addresses. As this is your network is strongly recommended to reserve IP addresses to the MAC (Machine Address Code) of the various devices so that they can power on and off and still keep the same IP.This simple suggestion will greatly improve the browsing of the local network.
Accessing Windows Resources from Leopard with no authentication
Windows
1. Check the settings of the PC and ensure the IP addresses on the local LAN are trusted
2. Activate sharing on the desired devices ensuring the shares are read and write. If you use Vista ensure password protected sharing is disabled.
3. Try to access the windows share from another windows computer if available to confirm no authentication is required
MAC
1. Go into system preferences->security-Firewall check that the setting is not on allow only essential services. Recommended settings is allow access to specific
2. Go back into system preferences network. On the tab location click edit locations. Duplicate Automatic and call the new location Home. Now select the Home location and go into Advanced-WINS. In the workgroup field enter the same value that is on the other windows computers for example HOME. Now press enter then go back to the main screen. Select Edit locations and delete the location automatic. Now edit your location Home and rename it Automatic. This workaround is a leopard bug described here.
3. Give 5 minutes to allow all the other machines to broadcast their IP address and the other computers should appear on the left side of your finder window. You can now select the shares you want to connect. As no authentication is active if you are prompted with a user name just press OK.
The procedure to access a NAS is the same as above, just ensure permissions are set to files are read/write for anyone to avoid confusion.
NOTE: There is no need to activate SMB sharing if you don't want to allow the PC to read folders on your MAC
Troubleshooting
After you have followed all the steps you don't see any windows PC.
Identify the IP address of the machine you want to connect. In finder select Option+K and enter SMB://IPADDRESS. If you can connect you have a name resolution problem. Go into your router configuration and ensure that the option DNS assigned by ISP is selected and you don't have services like Open DNS in use and fixed IP addresses in that field. Apply the changes and reboot the router. You should start seeing windows PC in finder shortly after.
Your ISP DNS service is poor and you must use Open DNS or similar
If you are forced to use services like open dns you have the risk that the router propagates the DNS servers to your machines. As the implementation of SAMBA in Leopard effectively blocks the MAC to be a master browser for performance reasons you end in a situation in which tiger machines connect and leopard ones don't see a single share. Let's fix it.
1. Go into System Preferences->Network then advanced DNS if you see here the IP addresses of the open dns servers this is the case. Unfortunately you will be forced to change the hosts file.
2.Ensure you have reserved IP addresses to all your machines so that they always get the same IP.
3. Now login into your mac as administrator and go into utilities=>terminal.
4. Issue the following command sudo pico /etc/hosts
5. Now scroll down and enter all the IP addresses and computer names of any device you want to browse
6. Reboot your MAC
The windows devices will now appear in finder and you will be able to connect with Option+K.
You cannot access shares even entering the IP address
You have not reserved IP addresses to each machine. Go into your router LAN set up and make sure that is the case.
Accessing Leopard resources from Windows
1. Go into system preferences->security-Firewall check that the setting is not on allow only essential services. Recommended settings is allow access to specific
2. Go into System preferences->accounts and click on Guest flag the option Enable guest account to access shared folders
3. Now into System preferences->sharing select file sharing and then options here flag SMB and select the user that has to be logged into the computer when the share has to be accessed. Ensure that the folder you want to share has read/write or whatever permissions you like it to have set for Everyone
You should now be able to see your MAC in the windows network resources and access the shared folder with a double click without any password request.
Troubleshooting
You don't see any MACs from Windows
Check the firewall settings at the start of this post. Then go back to the Network configuration hit advanced and then TCPIP check is using DHCP and not a fixed address. Then check the sharing is set as above with SMB clicked. If SMB is not set you won't even see your mac from windows.
You see the MAC and the shared folders but you can't read or write on it
Ensure you have set the guest account to access shared folders. Then check on the sharing preferences that there is at least one folder with read permission for everyone. The classic case here is Dropbox that leopard sets as read and write for the user of the MAC but no access for other users. You try to click on drop box and receive an error but when you actually try to write a file you can do it. Check the permissions on the subfolders of the share as those permissions will prevail on the home shared folders
FAQ
You may want to do more complicated things, but first ensure you can actually share files without security in place so you can identify the root cause of your possible problems
I want to password protect my windows shares: once you have done the relative set up in windows vista and ensured you can connect from another windows machine you will need to use user name and password of the Vista user to connect.
I want to password protect my MAC shared folders: Go into user account and disable guest access to shared folders is no shared folder has to be accessed without password otherwise leave it checked. Create a new user for sharing (better than giving away your password) so that this user only accesses the folders you want to share. In System preferences network select file sharing SMB and flag only the new user you have defined. Then go back to the folder section and set the permissions you like on the folder you want to share for this newly defined user.
