Master is a different colour to the home page

Hello
I have created my Master page and i understood that the following pages should be the same as the master page but the colours on all the other pages looked washed out, I have tried to change the home page to match as best i can, but surely i shouldn't have to do this.
Please advise

The names you have described are normal.  The name of the page in blue tells you which master is assiciated with that page.  A-Master is the Master of all pages, so it does not inherit any settings from other pages.
Are the images below the main image part of a widget?  Or are they stand alone images?
If it is a widget, widgets can be finicky, especially when you first start using them.  I will explain more if this is the case.  If they are stand alone images, then:
verify they are not set as a footer (if you created the box initially in the footer area, and then dragged them out, they will default to footer regardless of where you drag them)  You will want to make sure it is unchecked as below.
Also verify the height of your child pages vs the master (site properites).  For the page go to 'page => page properites' and for site properties fo to  "File => site properties".  The menu option "Page => reset page properties" will take care of this also.
Let me know if this helps.

  • How to change the back ground colour of the firefoxweb page

I tried to upgrade Fire fox Mozilla as requested from the home page.. but it did not complete.
When I went to surf the net the background screen colour was Black and now I could not see the web pages clearly, as some writing is in colour and does not stand out against the black background.
It used to be a dark pink which was horrible when I used to view some web pages such as Ebay.. can anyone help change the back ground colour on the home page of Firefox.
    Regards
    Simon

  • I have installed Version 7.0.1. on my Laptop and Desktop, but the home pages are different

I was invited to update my laptop version of Firefox to version 7.0.1. I did this and was quite impressed by the new home page format with a single button to address the Menu Bar, Bookmark etc. I decided to update my Desktop Computer to the same version by downloading the latest update, but when it was installed, the Home page format was not change to the new format. I decided to use the same installation file I had used on the Laptop, but the format was not changed. So I am puzzled as to why there are two different format results using the same installation file. Does anybody know of a way of ensuring the new format can be invoked on my desktop?

Unfortunately, your reply has not answered my question. On my Laptop, to access the Menu bar, there is a Red button in the top left hand corner of the Home page and clicking this button revels all the Menu Bar functions, On the Desktop machine, installed with the same installation file, the Red button is not available but the old Menu bar is. I would prefer the button and less cluttered home page, which the Laptop What's New page proclaims is the new format. How do I make the new proclaimed Format the default on my desktop and why the difference from the same installation file. I have attempted to use your upload images facility, but I have received an error message each time I try to upload an rtf file which includes an image of each each of the Home pages!

  • Browser opens to properly set home page. Tabs open to a different home page. what is the fix to get tabs to open to the home page I want.

I have firefox 24.0 in xp . for some time i have been using firefox with no problems. and i think i recently update to the current version. went my problem started I think was when I tried to download a video downloader. my home page was changed even tho I did a custom install. May home page was switched. after much trial and error I managed to get the home page I wanted when the browser first opens. but when I hit the tab button some home page opens that I dont recognise. and it does that for each addition tab that I open. it does this only when I open a tab. I have read several of the related questions here but there a waste of time because I am not a techie.
looked at the about:config thing but finding the right thing to even begin to look at was impossible. I dont recognise any of the thing in there and I dint understand how to search for the thing it said search for. this is the instructions I tried to follow:
    Chosen solution
You can modify the browser.newtab.url pref and change the value to http://foxnews.com
Also make sure that the new tab page is enabled, the browser.newtabpage.enabled should be true.
Type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key to open the about:config page, just like you open a website by typing the URL in the location bar.
If you see a warning message then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page.
use the Search bar at the top of the about:config page to locate preferences more easily
preferences that have been modified and do not have the default value show as bold (user set)
preferences that are user set (bold) can be reset to the default value via the right-click context menu
preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean) or by double-clicking the line with the pref
preferences can be created via the right-click context menu: New -> String, Integer, Boolean
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config.
what preference am I searching for? I tried searching for browser.newtab.url and came up blank. search for just browser came of with too many for me to make judgment on.
This was very confusing and i could not figure it out until the asker came back and said it worked and something else that I cant find now. i think the answers should be dumbed down to where non-techies can understand. my problem is solved

You can change this if you don't mind peeking under the covers into Firefox's about:config preferences editor.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste newtab and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the browser.newtab.url preference and enter the desired value:
    (i) Page thumbnails (default)
    browser.newtab.url = about:newtab
    (ii) Blank tab
    browser.newtab.url = about:blank
    (iii) Built-in Firefox home page
    browser.newtab.url = about:home
    (iv) Any other page
browser.newtab.url = full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?

  • How to change the homepage for a new tab when the home page of the initial tab and subsesequently opened tab are different?

When iam using firefox i selected google as my home page. But while opening another tab in the same window(ctrl+T), I am getting babylon search as home page for it. How can i get rid of this problem?

'''''"...while opening another tab in the same window(ctrl+T), I am getting babylon search as home page for it."""
Any search toolbar and changes to search engines can take place by downloading and installing software; usually "free" software from the internet. Babylon can be downloaded and installed by itself or as a "ride-along" when installing/updating some software from the internet. Always look for an opportunity during the installation to un-check boxes that will install "ride-along" items that you do not want. Firefox installation does not include such "ride-along" items.

#*You can reset to the default by clicking "Restore to default" on Options > General > Startup > Home page. Be sure to set "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page" on that same panel.
#Reset your Location Bar search engine (if typing a few words in the URL/Location Bar takes you to Babylon search):
#*type '''''about:config''''' in your Location Bar, like typing a web site address, and press the Enter key
#*ignore warning and choose to continue
    #*in Filter, type '''''keyword.URL'''''

  • How can I rest Firefox 4 becasue when I reset the home page to my site, it operates once correctly and then falls back into a series of five different ages strung together. no matter what I do.

I have opened the options and removed the string of addresses. I have removed the sessionstore files. When I enter any site address as the home page, close Firefox, and reopen it, Firefox opens to the correct page. If I close it and reopen it, it has the series of web pages in the home page block in the Options menu.
I have found that putting a blank page in the home page choice, will open a blank page, but the same string of characters appears in the Options menu home page block.

  • How do you get the home page to stay the same when you reload your firefox after changing homepage

We previously had google as our main home page then tried a page called bearshare. Now we want to change the home page back to google. I have tried numerous times typing in the new home page under tools, options then general tab and when we close firefox and then reopen the page it loads bearshare again so we go back to tools option again and it has automatically changed back to bearshare. We are running windows xp on our system and prefer google but bearshare is annoying as it doesn't find alot of kids games sites that we can get through google. Please help what do we do to stop it from changing back all the time?

Type '''''about:config''''' in a new window address bar. Click ''''''I will be careful'''''.
You will see all kinds of information that Firefox uses so it knows how to
work. There is a search bar at the top of the page. Type ''''''browser.startup.homepage'''''' and check its entry. You can change it to what
ever web page you want, or you can enter; ''''''about:blank'''''' for a blank page.
I use the Firefox home page; '''''about:home'''''. After, go back to the search bar
and type; '''''browser.newtab.url'''''. This is what a new tab page will display.
Do the same thing here. You can have the same for both or have each open to
    different pages.

  • Both ways to set homepage only work in the current session. Is there a third way to set the home page ?

    Greetings,
    On opening Firefox the Home Page is always;
    http://www.searchqu.com/406
Whenever I change the home page either by the drag and drop or Tools / Options / General that home page is set for the session. But when I close Firefox and return the home page is back to searchqu.com. It might be useful one day but it is sufficiently annoying that I would be happy to black list the URL.
I come in an out of Firefox several times a day. The page I want is www.abc.net.au/news which gives responsible local and international news at a glance, not the colour of the panties Paris Hilton wasn't wearing last night.
Oh, I do miss Netscape. The moon light on a raging following sea. The only good sight of a fox is when you are up with the whippers in and you glimpse the brush going through the next hedge, "from a view to a kill in the morning".
    Cheers,
    WN.
Just did a search all folders with searchqu in the text. 8 entries in Documents & Settings. 11 in Program Files 10 of which are in iLivid Toolbar. To be honest I haven't found iLivid to be of much use and it does show up twice in Add Remove Programs, on its own and as Toolbar.
Perhaps if I remove those ?
Do I smell the rancid stench of a program that piggy-backs on another ?
Without wasting more time should I just blow iLivid away and see if that fixes it ? ( Carefully noting an address for iLivid so that I can express my displeasure. )

  • How do I set the Home Page for a newly open tab using the File Tab Menu??

When I open a new tab, is there a way to set the home page the new tab will use when it is opened, or will new tabs always be opened as blank pages?

I have new windows opening when I click on a link. Or when I click on the FF-Icon. New windows are the default setting.
When a new window opens, I get a Google home page and can instantly type in a search phrase.
With the above in mind, sometimes I want to keep search classes in the same window. In a sense I'm using the Window with no tabs, to generate a tab by using the File Tab option.
When a Tab is selected where new windows will launch a new page, and not a new tab, the process of forcing a new tab onto the window will produce a tab page that is Blank, and the new tab label description displayed in the tab area shows the words "New Tab". That tab's URL address bar is blank. Zip - nothing displayed.
When a blank page tab appears, I click on the HOME button you helped me remodel, and the "New Tab" description in the tab label area changes from "New Tab" to "Google".
My question was to ask, if there was a way I could do something to make FF4 do that Home page assignment on its own. In the early FF days I found you could sometimes go into the bowels of FF, find some form of INI or SETTINGS type file, look for a Keyword reference that would tell FF to do something different, and Viola, emotional issue resolved. In this case, I'm trying to "Gild the Lilly" by asking if you, or someone else might have a rabbit they can pull out of their hat, just like you did when you helped me move my Home button, and have that rabbit show me how to do something that default FF-Options section doesn't support.
Did I do a better job of explaining the issue this time?
    Thanks again for the response.

  • How do I set the home page for a new tab?

How do I set the web page for when I open a new tab? Whenever I open a new tab it goes to an error site which freezes my firefox browser for a while. How do I change that? I want to open new tabs with google being the home page. I need to set up the homepage for a new tab NOT a new window. Please help! !

If Google is set as your Homepage in Firefox you can middle-click ''(push down on the mouse wheel)'' to open Google in a new Tab.
Or, you can add the feature to Firefox where clicking the New Tab button on the Tab Bar opens your Homepage in a new Tab. <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage/
And if you have a different Homepage set, this extension allows for any page you set in the extension's options to open when you use the new Tab button. <br />

I put in google then click "current page". When I try to add another page either after the google home page or on the same line as the google home page, I get only google. I have also tried this in a different order and I only get the website that is my first entry in the home page bar.

Have you seen the instructions at:
    * [[How to set the home page#w_set-more-than-one-website-as-your-home-page]]_set-more-than-one-website-as-your-home-page
Note you can manually edit the home page entry, use the ''pipe'' key | to create a separator between pages.

  • Start page lacks menu items - unlike "How to set the home page" view

I have just downloaded the beta of Firefox 4 and am attempting to reproduce opening home page from previous version. Directions on accomplishing this (loading the NY Times front page) depend on a menu bar with "File, Edit, View, History" etc. There are not visible. They are shown in the directions on Firefox Help but not on my computer. How to do this??

Click the Firefox button, then click Options. This will open the options dialog that the [[How to set the home page]] article refers to.
When viewing the support articles, in the right-hand column there is a section titled "Help With:", make sure it is set to Windows and Firefox 4 to get help relevant to the version you are using. In some articles you get different content when you select Firefox 4.

    1) The first and biggest culprit we found to be causing problems is with font issues. In order to alleviate this problem, open Font Book and make sure all the Fonts that are turned on have no dots next to them. If they do then select them and select "Resolve Duplicates" from the Edit menu. If you are using a different font manager then use whatever tool is available to make sure no duplicate fonts are loaded. iDVD 6 is very sensitive to this.
