Master Templates are ALL WHITE

When I go to load a Master Template in FCP. The template just loads as a white screen. Anyone else having this problem?

I presume you are using the Pages application, is that correct?
So start off by launching Pages and choose one of the regular envelope styles. Traditional works well for me.
Next go to the File menu and select Page setup. From the menu that says Paper Size select Manage Custom Sizes. In the resulting dialog, there should be a button on the left labeled "+". Click it. In the Paper Size area, select Width 5 in and Height 7 in. Name the size (where it says "untitled" something descriptive like "5 x 7 envelope". Click the OK button. The Paper Size menu here should now say the description you gave it. Click OK again. Your work area should now be a 5 x 7 envelope.

Final Cut Pro 7 Master Templates are white!

I can't get Master Templates working in FCP 7. I see the templates if I browse them, I can load them up in Motion no problem. But if I try and view them in the viewer, or add them to the timeline, they come up white. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FCP 7 3 times today now, and can't seem to figure out why this feature doesn't work. I've trashed preferences, everything I can think of. Anyone else having this issue?

After upgrading from FCS2 to the current studio, All video placed in Final Cut Pro or Motion shows up as either black or white, sometimes with a few small color artifacts- as if the contrast had been turned up to maximum. This issue affects even the bars and tone generator in Final Cut Pro. Audio is unaffected.
I removed all installed files and receipts and reinstalled, issue is still occurring. I've also updated to 10.5.8 and run Final Cut under another user.
This issue is occurring on an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo. I have a fresh install on my Macbook Pro which is running without any issues.

Master Templates come out white

Hi FCP editors,
I am having trouble in adding Master Templates into my project. I was able to do it before I re-installed FCP for another error. I go to my effects tab, go to master templates, choose one loads in the viewer and I get a white screen. I add it to my timeline and I still see the white screen before and after I render it. I also tried going under the sequence pull down menu and choose, "add master templates" here I see the templates and when I try to add the one with the correct settings for my project, I still get this annoying white screen.
Has anybody else had this problem?
WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX IT IN POST? Are some of my settings messed up? I tried deleting the user preferences folder therefore re-setting it to default setting.
Can someone please help me out?

if you bought 6 and updated to 6.0.4 it´s an update, correct?
there are several updates from 6 to 6.0.3, and if 6.0.4 is out there should be more!

I had other problems than white... they would not load at all, for me worked uninstalling FCP, install the new version of QT and then install FCP again (and update it)
Can you open some templates in Motion?
Can you open other templates in your computer (Livetype / Motion / ... - fcp studio 2)

You should se what you´re doing with your FCP2 and other app´s!
I´ve installed and formated my macbook once in one year and since then no updates or "extra programs", i use it for work... you should now what you´re doing with your mac! Update sometimes is a risk, QT 7.3 (for exp) was a flop and caused a lot of problems, if you need to finish a work the last option is to "downgrade" your software, use the original one (v6) and stay there... finish the work and then play with your app´s!

Just reinstalled Firefox and my header and icons (copy/paste/history etc.) are all white but my text remains blue? The header was kind of bluish before and icons contrasted.

I re-installed Firefox v. 9.??? The icons are white bordered in gry/blk and appear hollow. The header is all white and there is no contrast between the icons and the header, except for the outline of the icons. I have some bookmarks in the menu bar and they are fine, although the text is baby blue but again over the white background. Can I send you a picture (paint) of it?

Thanks, but the problem isn't the creation of a screenshot. It has to do with the coloring of the headers and icons. Submitting a screenshot, with my question/problem, as a means of better explaining the problem, may have further illustrated the problem I am having.

SX10 IS zoom photos are all white (severe over exposure?)

Hi, I've notice that when I take outdoor pictures, mostly in "Auto" mode, using a fair amount of zoom that the image take is mostly white. This consistently occurs and is not a one-time event. I'm assuming that the images are severely over exposed. The environment is typically mid-day sunlight. Taking a picture of the same composition at much lower magnification gives expected results. I've been through the manual looking for different things to adjust without success. I've reset all settings to their defaults and the problem persists. I've tried different modes with similar results. I've had this camera for a few years now and I haven't experienced this problem before. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

When shooting outdoors in sunlight, the camera could be metering the exposure improperly because of the sunlight entering the lens at certain angles. A good way to counter this is by attaching the lens hood that came with the camera.
If this does not help, I would like to take a look at a sample image if you could upload one to this thread. It will greatly help us determine what else may be causing this.

Hi , clicking photos using falsh are all white flashed..

this is the new phone I got today(just upgraded to ios 4.3.3)

Try a safeboot: hold left shift and power up, continue to hold shift until you see the progress bar then release. This will take longer than a normal boot. Shut down and reboot normally, This worked for me when I had a similar issue,

Speedgrade windows are all white - cannot read text

After a fresh install of Speedgrade from Creative cloud the main window is covered in white, and I can't read any of the text or navigate the workspace.

I'm running xp and all my facebook pages are blank. [ all white ] i have emailed facebook and they said that it is because i'm using firefox. could this be true? none of my family has this problem.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

FCP 7.0.3 Crashing/Not responding while importing master templates

I have Apple Motion 4 , Apple Motion 5 and Final Cut Pro 7.3.0 in my old mac mini. All were working fine (Not sure about FCP7).I recently installed some Master Templates (Motion 4 & 5) under username1. Now when I try to drag and drop master template to FCP timeline its showing the spinning wait cursor..and its not loading anything even after one hour.
One interesting thing is FCP master templates are working fine without any issue in other logins like username2.
I would like to mention some points here
1. Motion 4 installed under root folder so it will be available for all users
2. Motion 5 installed under username1 so it will not be available for others
Is there a solution for this issue..i tried trashing preference and all..but no use.

FCP cannot see or add any master templates

For some unknown reason, my FCP cannot see or add any master templates even thou all of the master templates are there in the right directory. Can someone take me through the steps to correct this issue? I have FCP 6.0.6 and Motion 3.0.2

Remove QuickTime receipts:
Go to /Library/Receipts/
Locate the QuickTime receipts files.
Select all QuickTime receipts that have version numbers as part of their names (but don't select the other QuickTime receipts). Here's an example of what they look like (you may have different receipts on your computer):
Drag the selected receipts to the Trash.
Download and install the latest version of QuickTime for Mac OS X.
After following these steps and restarting your computer, your DV device should interact with Final Cut as expected.

Anyone running 6.0.4 have problems with Master Templates

I am running Final Cut ver. 6.0.4
Can somebody else with the same version of FCP tell me if their Master Templates are working correctly? I am getting a white screen when applying the effect to my timeline.

I have the same problem and have seen this problem a few times now on this board. Master Templates are blank when viewed through Final Cut Pro even after applying the latest updates. Removing user prefs has no effect. Complete uninstall / reinstall does not help. I can go through Motion but it's a shame to loose a feature that would save me a lot of time (just not enough time to justify taking 2 days to format my drive and do a full reinstall).

Can I load FCP 7 without master templates loading?

Master Templates are causing 10 min start up times. How do I either move them to a location where they won't load on startup or is there a way to disable them from loading while keeping them there for Motion to find? And yes I added a bunch of custom ones as well some time back from various freebie sites. Thx

Thx, yup that was it. Back to 30 sec startup. I had over 10 gigs of template stuff. I don't know if this was from when I dabbled with X over the Summer or what. But a huge thx, I kinda figured that was the only real solution, just didn't know I could keep them in the FCS folder.

Heck everything is spiffier now. The interface itself feels like a new sports car now. It had gotten sluggish at some point and seeing how I've been in and out of the hospital the last year I couldn't pinpoint when. No more spinning balls and the menus open immediately. Wow!!!

Master Templates missing on Final Cut 7

I am running on Lion, and installed final cut pro 7. But master templates are missing. Is that because master templates are not compatible with Lion?

The usual cause of not seeing Color Correction is the user is looking at the the wrong clip or has applied the CC to the wrong version of a clip.
For CC not to be working, none of your effects would be working.
Can't help you with the render question. You have not provided any useful information.
