Masterdata Process Chain Help

I was asked to complete the master data process chain for whole of finance...its all business content?
How do I proceed.....do I need to go check manually each and every infoobject if it has masterdata?
Any easy way out?

Hi ,
You need to create a process chain and have steps to load each and every Info Object in FI area.
Basically make a list of all FI master data Info Objects and when you create a process chain create a start variant (ideally schedule it , during low data extract from r/3 to BW ) and also get an approval for the load scheule say daily, weekly , monthly etc.
Then attach the Execute InfoPackage process type for each info object and link them all. So it will load step by step all Master data Info Objects of FI.

Process Chain Help - Delete Overlapping requests

Dear Experts,
I have a requitement where I want to delete the ' previous days' request from the cube. This has to be from the data coming from only one DSO.
I can use the Delete overlapping request process type but I want to know how.
And again, this has to be only for the current month.I want to delete the overlapping requests of current month i.e now since I am in April I want to delete only the April requests. When I am in month May I dont want to delete april request anymore.
In other words I want to delete the april request until April 30th. On May 1st I dont want to delete the april 30th request. On may 1st it shouldn't delete anything. On May 2nd it should delete the May 1st request.
Can anyone help me with this.

If I have understood you correctly, you mean to say your cube is getting loaded from various Datasources and you want to delete the requests only for a particular Datasource and not for others.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
If I am right ! Then on the window "Delete Request from Infocube after update" you can "Delete Existing Requests - > Is current month" and on the bottom of that screen you can see a checkbox for Request Selection Through Routine. Check this and you can simply write a routine to do the deletion for only requests loaded from a particular datasource.

Master data process chain

Hi All,
I was asked to create masterdata process chain for info objects........WBS element, cost element,project and fund.......
So for these do i need to create process chain for each info object or else i have to create one for each infoobject?
Please post some suggestions and steps.

Yes..........u can include all these three in one Process chain........not a problem.............but obviously it depends on ur requirement......
Look.........for WBS element........there is Attribute,Hierarchy,Text.............for us Attribute is Critical.........so it is getting loaded as a part of a Critical chain..........Hierarchy and Text are included in the same chain............but u can included in one chain...........but remeber..always load in series.........not in parallel.........bcoz.........even attibute,text and hierarchy will lock each other........
cost element also hav Attribute,Hierarchy,Text..........for us it is getting loaded as a part of a FC chain......since it belongs to the FC area.........but u can include this in the same chain........
For project we r loading only text..........now for us it is non critical............we r loading it in the same chain of WBS element......
None of them has any Reference Characteristics............so u just include all of them in a single chain in any sequence......

Help me to Create this Process Chain

Hi Gurus,
We have 3 Process chains,
1) Region 1
2) Region 2
3) Region 3
These three process chains were start at differt times and end time will depends upon the load of data. Now i want to do some manual calculations after the successful execution of this chains. So i have written three ABAP programs to do that calculations for 3 chains.
My scenerio is to create a new chain only so I have created a new chain with Start variant -> Decision variant -> 3 Program variants (For 3 chains)
Now i want to write the condition in decision variant to attach the respective program variants below it. ie,
Start -> Decision (Condition for successful execution of Chain Region 1) -> Program Variant 1
             Decision (Condition for successful execution of Chain Region 2) -> Program Variant 2
             Decision (Condition for successful execution of Chain Region 3) -> Program Variant 3
So i don know what exact logic to write in Decision variant...Please help me here...

A process chain is a sequence of processes that are scheduled to wait in the background for an event. Some of these processes trigger a separate event that can, in turn, start other processes. It looks similar to a flow chart. You define the list of Infopackages / DTPs that is needed to load the data, say delta or Full load. Then you schedule the Process chain as hourly, daily, monthly, etc, depending on the requirement
process chains for which info providers ?? i mean to say... for cube or? DSO?
ok now below i explained for DSO... try it out it will work.. 100%
Step 1: Go to RSPC transaction. Click on Create. Give Process chain name and Description.
Step 2: Give the Start process name and description and click on Enter
Note: Each process chain should start with a Start Process
Step 3: The next screen will show the Scheduling options.
There are two options:
Direct Scheduling:
Start Using Meta Chain or API
In my example I have chosen Direct Scheduling as I am processing only one chain i.e DSO. Click on u201CChange Selectionsu201D
In the below screen shot, you can give the scheduling details i.e the Immediate, Date& time etc. and click on SAVE
The Screen shot below indicates that we have started the process.
Step 4:
Click on the icon process types as shown in the below figure. You will get a list of options.
In my example I am scheduling for DSO. To process we need to have InfoPackage, DTPu2019s for the corresponding DSO
Open the tree Load Process and Post Processing, We need to drag and drop u201CExecute InfoPackageu201D
Step 5: Once you drag and drop the u201CExecute infopackageu201D we get the below Popup. We need to keyin the Infopackage name. To do this click on F4 and chose your Infopackage and click on ENTER
Step 6: Save + Activate and Execute the Process.

Help! about process chain execution status

hi:
we nearly have one problem about the process chain execution status,
when error occured during process chian execution, we fixed it in time,
however, even the error repaired, its status still showed yellow, and this
stop the subsequent process to excute.
Any body who can provide some help to solve this problem? thanks in advance

Try this method
Open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like
described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end.

Hi,
I believe this would be your Prod system, so don't just cancel it but look at the job log. If it is still processing then don't kill it and wait for the change run to complete but if you can see that nothing is happening and it is stuck for a long time then you can go ahead and cancel it.
But please be sure, as these kind of jobs can create problems if you cancel them in the middle of a job.

Urgent help regarding process chain error

hi experts ,,
one of the process chain is not running properly for last 5 days ....
now current status of process chain is red ...and msg is last delta isrunning/has errors ..couldnt process request
msg of yester days chain ........
Errors have been reported in Business Information Warehouse during IDoc update:
Could not find code page for receiving system
error msg in bd87 (with idoc status 02 )
tried to process idoc manually but it didnt happen ...throughing same error....
one more thing here is same process chain status on 16th is in yellow status .....
its in yellow status at dtp load step ....on right click on dtp_load variant --->in batch montior --->job overview
dtp_laod job was is ready status ....
i thought this status effecting others so tried to schedule the job couldnt ....
so deleted job in confession....
now and process which is bfr dtp_load is in yellow and whole chain is in yellow ....
what shall i do now ??how to correct this ??
shall run dtp manually and dso activation manually ???and shall i make process into green status ???
or shall retrive deleted job wit basis ppl help???
please help me...

Yes, as rightly said you need to run the previous delta before updating new records in the latest request. If possible de-schedule the chains for a while, delete the old deltas (assuming you are using flexible updates?) and try to repeat the loads manually & proceed to activate & schedule once the delta has finished processing. If you still think this is an issue related to idocs processing, you can do the re-processing, provided they do not create fresh batch of idocs in the source system. You can re-process the idocs both inbound & out bound using reports like RBDAGAIN (But again, use extreme caution on these!). Info Spoke - Process Chain - OS Command usage help

I am new to BW. My requirement is to extract the master data off of BW data targets on a weekly basis and ftp the files onto a different server.
To meet this requirement, I am planning to create InfoSpoke(s), put it in a Process chain and using the OS Command ftp the files to different server.
Is this the right way to do it or are there any better ways? If it is, I need help on where to give the target server name, user_id and PSW in the OS Command variant of Process Chain.
Also, is it possible to schedule a Infospoke directly from the scheduler (Auotsys...) and still execute weekly/monthly?

That's correct. You'll define the command under the general services tab in the process chain transaction (It's labeled OS Command and is a silver circle thing with a blue dot in it).
When you drag it into the process chain it will ask for a varient. In the System Command field for this varient is where you'll define the actual command. (little pencil button next to it). At this point you can call a script that does the copy or call an actual command that does the copy.
Might be easier to control with a script that does the work but if you want to call rcp/scp, the os command will be rcp and parameters will be the filename, etc. If it's a script then you'll just enter the name of the script in the os command field.

How to delete masterdata via process-chain

Hi Specialists,
I need to delete masterdata which is not used in any cube/osd on a daily base.
But I cannot find a possibility to do that via the process-chain. There seems only to
be the option to delete the content of cubes and ods-object, but not of info-objects.
Could you please gimme some hint?!

Use function module RSDMD_DEL_MASTER_DATA in a ABAP program.. then schedule it in process chain..

Help in Process Chains?

Hi Guru's,
I am new to Process chain topic.we have almost 60 PC's , My question is ,chain steps are START ->LOAD(clentnumber)->ACR->Abend program,this is flow of data in chain ,alternatively the chain was failes only on load step?As per my knowledge due to duplicats recordes loading .but i want permanent solution for this resason ,why it fails only on load step?
so plz could any body help on this.

Hi Good year,
You are having problem with your data(duplicate records) thats why it is failing at loaing. Some times PC's fails at ACR(attribute change run), bcoz of ACR locking.

Very Urgent-Pls help*Process chain triggered automatically when transported

Hi All,
We have got some issue.
We have a Process chain, started set to immediate becuase its used in meta chain.
When ever we transport the Chain, its getting triggerred in the Target Client automatically.
We can prevent this, by keeping the process chain starter as "Event Based". But, as its a local process chain, it must be set to Immediate.
Please help.

Thanks for this reply.
Scheduling the Local chain to run in future and then changing it after import, i think, is a work around.
Iam sure, there must be some thing to stop this trigger.
And, We have tried Changing the Chains to run Via Meta chain, but, the problem is after the Transport, the local chain can't be triggered on its own using "immediatly". If we try to change it, it'll prompt for a Transport.

How to Update Infoobject Masterdata using Process Chain

Hello,
I am trying to update the Master Data in Infoobjects (text and Attr) by using Process chain.
The steps used are
1. Delete data from PSA
2. Execute Infopackage
3. Execute DTP for Attr
4. Run Attr Change
5. Execute DTP for TEXT
While updating Text, I am receiving error for duplicate entry.
I am trying understand the correct process to update Infoobject Master Data in BI7 (SCM5/5.1). Please adivse.

In process chain functions, you can use the process type with the name Trigger Event Data Change (for BEx Broadcaster)
The above process type must be used to determine which InfoProviders should be checked for data changes. You can specify multiple InfoProviders within this process type either directly (by simply entering the names of the InfoProviders) or indirectly by specifying the name of the variant based on one of the following process types:
Execute InfoPackage (LOADING)
Activate DataStore Object Data
Update DataStore Object Data (Further Updating)
Read PSA and Update Data Target
