Mastering but losing my mind with a "gap" between 2 tracks which shouldn't be there. What is wrong?

I have an album which I've been working on for a while and it's now all finished with the exception of one small glitch...
Throughout the album I have a around 4 overlapping tracks, when burning the tracks to a disc, 3 out of 4 of the tracks crossover into the next track perfectly. 1 of them doesn't...
My 1st method: Paste the 2nd Track over the end of the 1st Track, then cut the 2nd overlapped track and paste back over the original 2nd track, whilst saving over the now shortened 1st track... ( This, whilst not a great method, has never failed me in the past and worked on the the other overlapping tracks).
So I realised this wasn't a great method so then tried method 2.
My 2nd Method: Drop all the mixdowns into one waveform (in Edit view), and create Markers using the Marker List and F8, so that each track starts bang on the next .001 of a second.
Again, for 3 out of the 4 this was fine, but for the other... I can still her the tiniest click!
It's a click the listener will not notice, but it's a click that is killing me because the label putting out the CD is on me to get the final mix to them, but I won't submit it until this click has gone.
Things I should note:
1. When played in Winamp, there are no clicks. This is ONLY when burnt to a disc.
2. I've used Adobe Audition 3.0 to burn the audio disc with no silence between tracks.
3. I've also used Nero to burn the audio disc with no silence between tracks.
4. I've used multiple computers/dvd burners to test this.
5. I've used multiple brands of CD-rs.
6. I'm very sure that there is not an actually cilck on the waveform.
7. This is the 1st track leading into the 2nd track (I'm aware there is a 2 second gap before the 1st Track)
8. I've played the burnt CD-r on my PC, my DVD player, my Computer at work, my car stereo.
Please help me with this, it's driving me nuts as I've worked very hard and perfected the thing, and need to submit it very soon.
Is there any software you would reccomed to split tracks which I should try?
Thank you!

CD tracks should not be starting on the nearest .001 of a second but 1/75 of a second. The CD standard is 75 frames per second. If tracks do not start on the nearest 1/75 of a second the audio will be filled out to the nearest one causing clicks at the junctions. Make sure that the Display Time Format is set to Compact Disc 75fps and that Snap to Frames is turned on.

  • Gap between tracks

    Hi -
I imported an album that has no gap between music tracks, but in iTunes there is now a ~1 sec gap between tracks which also copies across to my nano. Is there a way to edit/adjust these tracks so there is no gap without haing to re-rip the whole album? It is quite annoying.
    TIA,
    Charles

I did not even realize that this issue occurred, until I was listening to Abbey Road on the IPOD. Searching for Answers it looks as though Apple needs to provide an enhancement to resolve this with an Itunes service pack and ipod firmware upgrade.

  • Zen Micro: Is the gap between tracks nor

I bought a Zen Micro mainly because I was told that it does not insert a gap between tracks. The trouble is that mine does insert a tiny, but incredibly annoying, blip between tracks.
I would really appreciate if another Zen Micro owner could tell me if this gap is normal or there is something wrong with my unit. I have tried 3 different levels of firmware, various formats and bit rates, but each time media player plays tracks seamlessly, but the Zen Micro inserts the gap.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ian

There is a somewhat technical reason as to why mp3 files cannot play seamlessly. Its because each part of the mp3 is split up into frames. You can only have frames, you can't have half frames or /4 frames. So I guess when a song ends, the little gap is the rest of the frame filling in space so it can be read properly. There is only one player that I know of that can actually skip the blank part of the frame and play gaplessly, I think its one of the Rio players but I can't remember to be honest
If I'm completely wrong in my explanation, someone please correct me

  • Stop gap between tracks on playback

Is there anyway to stop the gap between tracks on the ipod shuffle? I want to play from one track to another smoothly without ANY gap at all so my playlist plays through like one continual mix but with track markers so I can skip on.

As always, someone please correct me if I am
    mistaken...
From the information that I can find, I don't believe
the iPod Shuffle supports Gapless Playback as the
iPod Nano and iPod with Video do.
    Sorry
    You are correct!

    Gapless Playback on iPod
iPod does not support crossfade playback and only some iPod models support gapless playback. For those models that do, all files that support gapless playback are played gaplessly whether or not the "Part of a gapless album" option is checked.
Supported iPod models (make sure you have the latest iPod Software)
    * iPod nano (Second Generation)
    * Fifth Generation iPod
    * Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006)

  • How do I define gap between tracks in playlists?

how do I define gap between tracks in a playlist in iTunes? (So that the gaps will be a part of the playlist after syncronizing to an iPhone.)
This is for tracks imported from LogicPro, not ripped from a CD.
    Thanks for answer

Since iTunes has no such feature, the way to do it is to create short tracks of silence.  Add them to your iTunes library, and insert them as separators between other tracks in the playlist.  You can use the same track multiple times in the same regular playlist.
I have not used Logic Pro, but I am fairly sure it can be used to create a short track of silence.

  • 5800 - How can i remove gap between tracks?

Hi guys, as the subjects says...Is there any way to remove the gap between tracks in order to get a continuous play with seperate songs in the XM 5800?
    Thanks.

I know what you mean - some albums sound much better without the half second (or more) gap between tracks when playing in continuous mode (not usually necessary for shuffle mode). E.g. MediaMonkey on the PC works pretty great with Ministry of Sound albums for example - I suspect we'd have to have a new audio player in a firmware release. Here's to dreaming!
If I've helped, please hit Kudos! I could do with a little kudos in my life.

  • Gaps between tracks...

I am an EDM DJ and there is nothing worse than listening to a set with gaps between tracks. Upon burning a cd via iTunes I make sure that the set is gapless and specify a 0 second gap between tracks. Why am I still getting gaps in the final burn?

Actually, I have never had this problem using other burning software (windows). I seem to only have the issue when using iTunes. Obviously burning with iTunes is the way to go versus using Toast, etc...
    Any other ideas?

Let me see if I can help you with the basic WDS configuration steps:
Note: To help facilitate the setup, temporarily connect the AXn directly to the AEBS LAN port using an Ethernet cable. Once the setup is complete, you can move the AXn to the desired location. For all configuration steps you will be using the AirPort Utility. Before starting, be sure to jot down the AppleIDs for both base stations.

  • Playback without gaps between tracks... ?

Please can someone help me. I have lots of mixed CDs and would like to listen to them on my Nano without the standard 2 second gap between tracks!
    Any ideas

This question is one that crops up a lot on these forums and has been a major source of complaint for as long as the iPod has been in existence.
Currently the only way to eliminate the gap between songs is to import the cd as one track. You do this by using the “join cd tracks” option in the advanced menu of iTunes.
Make sure the tracks are in their correct order, and highlight those you wish to join.
No gaps, but the downside is that you will of course lose the ability to navigate between tracks, and the song info is also lost. The iPod will display the cd title in the song field in the “now playing” screen . You’ll also have one large file instead of a number of smaller ones.
Be aware also that playback of single large audio files can shorten battery playtime between charges.
If you would like to see gapless playback implemented to the iPod, add your voice to the many here.

  • How can I remove gaps between tracks?

I now know how to join tracks
My next hurdle is how do I remove the gaps between tracks?
Apple sent me this link but I don't know how to find the section it refers too.....
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesMac/7.0/en/2585.html

so when you have the songs in the itunes library you are going to select the songs.....hold control and select each song ( this will highlight them all blue ) then right click on the songs and select get info and you will see the part of a gapless playback album on the bottom right of the window

  • Gaps between tracks still?

Does anyone know if Apple have addressed the gaps between tracks issue? I know you can join tracks, and that's not what I'm asking Would be great if you could listen to mix CDs properly at last....

Someone else has asked this already, see Ryan Goshorn, "Gapless Playback on Nano?", 06:44pm Sep 8, 2005 CDT
...and it appears the answer is that the gaps are still there.

  • Adding a gap between tracks AFTER they've been purchased from iTunes?

    Hello.
My son gave me his old iPod (white, 10gigs, 2nd generation?), mechanical click wheel. Very nice. Already backed up my System to the little devil.
I've been buying music from iTunes, typically classical music. I just added to the Mac and to the iPod a small chamber music piece in four movements. Each movement is treated as a "song." When I play them in (from? on?) the computer, they run together without any gap in-between. Is there any way to add a very brief pause between the movements? These are not ripped from a CD where, I gather, you can add gaps between tracks. The question, here, is: Can I add a gap +after the fact+, once the purchased and downloaded tracks are in iTunes?
    Many thanks for your help!
    Alarik

Ah I see. In that case, you have to switch your iPod over to manual updating rather than automatic updating...
