Masters in SAP

Hello Everyone,
This is Kirubakar. I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Computer science from St Josephs. After my U.G, i have completed my SAP ABAP certification and i have one and half year experience in the same field. Now i would like to become a techno-functional consultant with a good amount of knowledge in the business processes of SAP. Not just do another SAP certification in the functional side, but i would like to do my masters.
I have the below universities in mind..
1. Burmingham City University - MSc Enterprise Systems Management
2. Sheffield Hallam University - MSc Enterprise Systems Professional
3. Brunel university                  - MSc Business System Integration
I have a few queries.
1. How good are these 3 universities in terms of credibility? I have heard Brunel is good compared to the other two. I have
    also heard that Burmingham City University is pretty new and not that recommended. How far are these true? Will i get a
    job after passing out ?
2. I am more of a technical person and would like to opt for a course that will cover the functional side and actual business
    processes in SAP. What course out of these 3 will you recommend for me?
3. I was looking through the course structure of 'MSc Enterprise Systems Professional' from Sheffield
    Hallam University. I found very few modules related to SAP/ERP. Will this course have the necessary elements to cover
    at least some of the functional side/business processes of SAP?

Hi Kirubakar,
I too want to pursue MSc may be in one of the above mentioned university.I don't have any industry experience and even don't have any sap certification.But trust me no body will point directly to say that this university is good-one and the other-one is not.It's totally on up to you where you decide to study.For me I think I will go with Brunel University.

Hi Nidhi.
In Standard you can make UDF mandatory while Creating it by Checking Mandatory Option in UDF Window.
If you want to make Standard Field Mandatory then you have to use SP Transaction Notification to make that field Mandatory.

MASTERS IN SAP-ABAP.

Hi,
There has to be a lot of people out there who might be having many questions about higher studies in SAP-ABAP.
Please HELP us by guiding us.
Assuming that all such people are engineering graduates or equivalent, I have some general questions about higher studies in SAP-ABAP.
1. Which universities offer full time masters or equivalent degree in SAP-ABAP ?. Which countries are most preferred ?.
2. What is the admission procedure ?. Do we have to appear for some enterance test ?. What are the requirements ?.
3. What is the fee structure ?.
4. What is Job prospects after completing the degree ?. Are there any Campus placements or will there be Job Fairs ?.
Guidance in any measure is really heartly appreciated.
I have no idea, whatsoever, about where to start and what to start with.

there is no academic degree in SAP-ABAP, but there are many universities that have embedded ABAP in their curriculum.

You can search for Universities that offer a Master degree in information systems or computer science, and check on the Universities website if SAP/ABAP related courses are part oft the curriculum.

Masters in SAP ERP

hi, i completed my masters in EMBEDDED SYSTEMS AND VLSI, i want to pursue an education related to SAP and the start my career in sap. if i at all pursue masters / programme in sap will i be able to make it to a job from the universities. can you suggest any such good universities which provide such programmes which will provide me a job.

Not, I do not think so
There in one year: ABAP, SAP PP, SAP SCM, SAP FI, SAP HR. SAP CRM, SAP BW......
as a result, you will know nothing
The bes variants for you:
1. Get Master progam from well known university(as Gopi Chandrakesan recomended) and then look for fresher jobs in SAP
2. Get just any master program to get a MS and forget it. Then look for fresher jobs in SAP
3. Get SAP education and certification from special SAP centers(I know, it is quite expensive) then look for fresher jobs in SAP
4. Forget about MS. BC it is enogh for SAP career. Start to look for fresher jobs in SAP and get experience.

Automatic replication of vendor masters from SAP R/3 to EBP

For this issue I found the below program and steps to do the automatic replication of vendor master from SAP R/3 to EBP
PROGRAM BBP_VENDOR_SYNC
The program BBP_VENDOR_SYNC automatically synchronizes the backend vendors with the SRM system.
To run the program BBP_VENDOR_SYNC, you first have to make the following settings:
Path in the Implementation Guide (IMG):
Supplier Relationship Management --> SRM Server -->Technical Basic Settings -->Settings for Vendor Synchronization --> Make Global Settings
Supplier Relationship Management --> SRM Server -->Technical Basic Settings -->Settings for Vendor Synchronization --> Define Settings for Each Backend System
Then you have to make the following settings in transaction SA38:
· Enter program BBP_VENDOR_SYNC.
· Click on the pushbutton Background.
· Enter the report name BBP_VENDOR_SYNC.
· Either define a new variant or use an existing variant ( The new Variant as Test Vendor)
· Click on the pushbutton Schedule.
· Enter the job.
· Define the start date.
· Either schedule once or schedule periodically. Then you have to define the period interval.
I followed the above mention steps and I am able to setup the Schedule on timely basis and the job was completed successfully, but the vendors are not replicated successfully .
I am receiving the below error in transaction code SLG1.
1.The Specified Node does not Exist in the Org. Plan(Message no. BBP_VENR006).
2.No Vendor Replicated from Backend MD1CLNT(Message no. BBP_VENR017).
Please check and advice.

Make Global Settings
Use
In Customizing for vendor synchronization, you define between which mySAP or ERP backend systems and the EBP System you wish to automatically synchronize the vendor master data. This setting is necessary in order to start a job-based execution of the synchronization, so that the vendor master data that is newly created or changed in the backend is updated regularly in the EBP System.
Requirements
You wish to use the automatic vendor synchronization functionality.
In the Implementation Guide (IMG) activity Define RFC Destinations, you have defined the RFC destinations for your systems.
Under Define Backend Systems, you have defined the backend systems for your systems.
Activities
Customizing for Vendor Synchronization consists of two parts. In the first part you make those settings that are valid for all backend systems. In the activity Make Settings for Each Backend System you can define or display detail data for the individual backend systems.
Make Global Settings
By setting the indicator Create New Vendors Also, you can determine that those vendors newly created in the backend systems are also newly created during the synchronization. If this indicator is not set, the only data updated is that of the vendors in the Enterprise Buyer System whose data was changed in the backend systems.
Note:
If you have not yet made an entry here, an empty screen appears when you start the activity. To make the settings, choose New entries or press F5.
Further Settings:
Carry Out Address Check for Duplicates :
Organizational Unit in EBP for the Vendor
Enter the eight-digit number, for example, 50001234.
Vendor Number Assignment Type
In the dropdown box, choose the method with which the number is to be allocated when a new vendor is created, for example, internal number allocation.

LDAP connector for Customer masters With SAP..........

Hi Experts ,
Our requirement is we have certain applications which are integrated
with SAP Portal.
For these applications Data sources are maintained in two different
LDAPS.
One LDAP (enterprise directory) is for USER data and the other LDAP for
Customer data(in this senario customer data is nothing but business
partner role oragnization).
MY task is to build an interface for Customer data with LDAP sync.
So here the question is, Can we use SAP standard LDAP connectors to
make connectivity to the enterprise directory(LDAP)and push business
partners data from CRM to the enterprise directory.
In Standard SAP system which are standard LDAP connectors support
this functionality?
Please advice me and also let me know if we have any SAP notes for this
senario.

You can download the CAD-Integration-Software from http://service.sap.com/swdc and then goto
Installations and Upgrades > Supplementary Components for Cross Industry Solutions > Life-Cycle Data Management > SAP PLM Integrations > select the desired integration
But that path does not exist in SAP download software page.
Also, in the availability matrix I can find integration with several systems (catia, solid edge, autocad...) but not unigraphics.
Could you please provide some more information on the topic?

Importing Masters through SAP B1 Import Export Utility

Hi guys,
I am using Import and export utility to import BPs and Items. If anyone has used it please tell me if there any issues / future implications regarding it or it is just ok.

Only limited amount of columns(limited no. of data) can be
imported through the import from excel.
Date from excel should be mapped exactly with
as with columns and fields in Import from excel for both BP/Items.
Excise and other tax information in BP can't be uploaded
through import from excel,this can be possible in DTW.
Excisable,Material Type,Chapter ID and assesable value
can't be uploaded through import from excel,this is also not
possible in SAP B1.
You need to set warehouses manually if
"Auto add all warehouse to New Warehouses" is not ticked,this
is possible in DTW using template oWarehouses.
Considering above limitations you can better opt for DTW
to import datas to SAP B1.

Need Suggestion for SRH Heidelberg program of SAP masters

HI ,
There are two SAP masters program available in the SRH Heidelberg University of Applied Science.However, the masters of computer science which has specialization in SAP costs 10,000 euros and the SAP corporate masters program costs 40,000 euros. I am planning to join the Masters of computer science program which provides internship. I have tried to find the difference between these two program. The only difference I could find was that the two certifications that are offered in SAP corporate masters program (SAP certified associate) from SAP education and TERP10 certification are not available with masters of computer science program and also there are some differences in the study model. As there is not much clarity on the differences between the two program available anywhere on internet. I would like to know if you or anyone on this network forum would be able to answer me by letting me know the difference between these programs and is the Master of computers science from this university helpful for freshers who wants to make their career in SAP.

I am from chenna-Indiai. I am planning to take up this SAP Corporate Master Program. But in Hedelberg University there are Two different programs similar to this - MSc Science(approx-10,000 Euros) and Msc Computerscience(approx-10,000 Euros), Can anyone say the difference.?Also i need to know if this both is similar to SAP COrporate Master Program.
I also can NOT see any course which come under SAP Corporate Masters which costs 40,000 Euros,So which course you are talking about?Could you please advice me in just throwing different options. and Costs. The basic Requirments of the Mini Masters in SAP HCM Requires the following Information of the PERNR
Infotypes to be maintained - 0000 , 0001 , 0002 ,0007 , 0105 , 0315 (you can also include IT related to TM but i havent used them in my project)
As per the above Infotypes Configuration of Holiday Calendar , DWSR is necessary
and comeing to the integration with other modules
The mini masters is required by the following Modules as per my experience
1. Project Systems - Integration will be Cross Appplication Time Sheet CATS
2. Materials Managment (MM) - In this module the PERNRs in the HCM will be treated as Buyers from MM side and along with their PERNRs they require the Positions for that PERNR and Telephone no from IT 0105 Communication for Print Out form in MM
3. EHS - Employee Health Safety : This module requires the Hirerachy of the Organisational Structure in order to issue Notification Type to concern Department Department means Organisation Unit have a look at Tcode IW22 for this we need to Map the Relationships Reports to ......... and Manged by ............. the both relationships are must and in future in case of any work flows this configuration helps us a lot

Automated Numbering Series for Masters

How can we setup a automated numbering series for Item and Business partner masters in SAP Business One? I know this feature is available in SAP Business Suite but how to create in SAP B1 just like its there for any other documents like sales order or PO

As a workaround add user defined fields seperately both for item & BP master & make it mandatory,
Apply Formatted search using query to auto refresh document number whenever on adding new masters.

in BW, we have data extraction(ETL-extraction transformation loading), modeling/configuration, and reporting, some people may strong in certain area, some may know bw reporting but not familiar with ETL and modeling ... some may strong in extraction but not touch or a little reporting... as mentioned may depend on your background, abaper may interest with extraction, those familiar with other reporting tools may want start with bw reporting etc etc ....
