Masters Mobile BI Research Request

  Good Day,
I am currently enrolled in a part-time Masters
programme in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town and am required
to conduct a research project as part of this course.
The purpose of this research is to investigate
whether the organizations that have implemented Mobile BI are deriving business value from this
technology.
This research will be conducted by means of an
anonymous web-based survey which can be found at the url link below:
https://ucpcommerce.eu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_39iwNG1k8PV16wB
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes
to complete.
Please feel free to contact me on [email protected] should you have any questions.
Thank you for your cooperation and time.
Kind Regards,

    Hi
I posted this earlier  but it is still applicable.
In terms of topics, one of the biggest issues facing companies is the transition to the new BOBJ reporting tools. Companies are unsure of their reporting roadmap as Bex is being phased out. So research related to how companies are approaching the transition would be very relevant. Also related to this is the decision processes related to reporting tool selection. SAP customers are being presented with a plethora of reporting tools. What are the factors used to decide which tools should be implemented?
Another trend which is emerging is the establishment of BI Centres of Excellence or BI Competency Centres. Drivers, barriers, purpose etc would be relevant research.  Related to this is BI Maturity models.
    I hope this helps

It's certainly not coming from or commissioned by Apple. Our corporate security system blocks that web site as a malware/spyware/phishing site, so I'd say no, it's not legit, particularly since the name servers handling that site are in Russia. I'd advise avoiding that site, and definitely don't give them anything even remotely like personal information.

  • Mobile gaming research assistance

    Hello,
I am currently engaged in research on mobile multiplayer gaming as a doctoral student in business administration. For a first overview of the market structures, I am working on a market analysis. Therefore I am conducting expert interviews with a member of each element of the value chain.
As Suns J2ME is the market leader in mobile developer platforms, I would be very happy, if anyone from Sun would support my research by allowing me to interview him or her for about one hour via telephone. My questions concern the market structure, business models and market developments from the viewpoint of mobile platform developers.
Therefore, if anyone feels he or she is able to help me with finding an interview partner by providing a contact or being the right person him/herself, I would be very happy to hear from you.
For further information please visit the website of the chair I am working for: www.prof-reichwald.de or my personal homepage: www.yven.biz.

    What is ResearchResults?
Is it a request parameter or is it a request attribute?
Parameters and attributes are two different things.
Request parameters: the values submitted from the form. Always String.
Request attributes: objects stored into scope by your code.
They are also accessed slightly differently in EL
    java syntax == EL syntax
    request.getParameter("myparameter") == ${param.myparameter}
    request.getAttribute("myAttribute") == ${requestScope.myAttribute}
You are referencing the attribute in your scriptlet code, but the parameter in your JSTL/EL code.
    Which should it be?
    cheers,

    Hi
Other then the previous reply,In simplest word we can say --now we have two way to admin the content in the landscape.
1.If we want to do it off-line the we can do form Visual admin( works well because after modification we start the server for changes takes place)
    2. Form NWA we can do all administration with indicative navigation (quite frustrating in visual tool ) and no need to start /restart the surver

  • Can I use the iPhone 6 t-mobile version with straight talk?

Can I use the iPhone 6 t-mobile version with straight talk?

    All,
I have read and understand most of the post (s) on this: Apple Support Community:
It looks like the long way around my elbow approach: (piecing together an iPhone 6+ with a Straight Talk AT&T /T Mobile; Compatible Nano SIM Card) may yet work, just a bit gun shy on the $949.00 cost for the iPhone 6+ from Apple.
I live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu (north shore), and have  an iPhone 4 8gb cdma iPhone which is on Verizon's network rebranded by TFW / Straight Talk for several years. It works fine but I need an iPhone with more storage.
I have had a talk / chat with both sides Apple & Straight Talk, neither have real answers to support using the iPhone 6+ with Straight Talk as a carrier.
On the Apple site: " http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ ". It is clear that Straight Talk has certified their LTE network with iPhone 6/6+ to meet basic standards.
I / we need all of the successful trail braisers on this community to post what works & what does not work.
What I plan / have to purchase / buy:
    Direct from Apple:
    1. Contract-free iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Space Gray (GSM) T-Mobile. (pending research to ensure it will work). Apple confirms, without the T Mobile nano sim that this iPhone is unlocked.
    Direct from Straight Talk:
    2. AT&T /T Mobile; Compatible Nano SIM Card. (GSM; on its way)
Would have purchased a Verizon Nano SIM Card from Straight Talk but they do not seem to have one.
All support, advice & information is greatly appreciated.

    1)
it was suggested to installo root certificate of web server to be installed in Mobile Device.
    or
    2)
Remove the proxy configuration from Mobile Device OR add https://<servername>:8080/ under browser's exception list.
I will be working wih web hosting team to have the root certificate of web server as peremenant solution.( 1st option)

Previously we are using the mobile client version which less than 5.1 Release. we never had any issue with HTTP or HTTPS.
Today we have upgraded mobile client to 5.1.32. And issue started occurring.
we are not using any VPN to connect. our web url is enabled in internet to access the reports.
Note:we have verified the web url in the internet by connecting it from other system which is out of our network. There launchpad/CMS are working fine without having any issue with HTTPS.

  • Mobility Handoff & DHCP

    Hi,
I have an issue that has only just started in the last couple of days.
I have clients using a Guest Network which has been anchored to another WLC.
The clients associate and authenticate to Access Point/Controller correctly, although the cannot get an IP address.
    Some details -
    1. The remote WLC is correctly anchored and handing out IP addresses to other sites except the one I am working on.
    2. I pushed the WLC to another Anchored WLC and it has a different DHCP server and it still doesn't work.
    3. I have disabled WLAN, renabled.
    4. I have removed anchor and readded
    5. Clients revert to a 169.254 address
    Some debugs below -
    DHCP Messages -

    Hi,
What interface is the Guest SSID mapped to: Management or another dynamic interface?
If you mapped to another dynamic interface, that VLAN has to be routed and no IP helper-address is configured on the VLAN.
Also ensure that the DHCP server address is that of the management interface of the Anchor controller, since it is the DHCP server.
I would suggest that as a test, you enable DHCP override on the WLAN (Advanced tab), and put in the management IP address of the Anchor controller.
Finally, ensure that the foreign controller does not have DHCP proxy enabled.

    IMPORTANT DATES
Submission of position papers: 30 August 2001
Notification of acceptances: 15 September 2001
    TECHNICAL SCOPE
    Overview
Mobile applications and services are exploding in the market today.
However, typically value-added applications have been developed as
additions to the most basic application of all, which is mobile
wireless voice and data access, or developed as specialized vertical
services. Despite the proliferation of mobile wireless services being
introduced in the marketplace, it is not yet clear which will be the
killer apps and for which market segments and in which regions.
Therefore, it is critical that frameworks be built to enable rapid
creation and deployment of mobile wireless services leveraging not
only reusable components but also design and deployment patterns,
including the adaptation and optimization patterns essential in mobile
    wireless environments.
The challenges in building next generation mobile wireless system include:
    * Providing a flexible service creation and deployment environment
    * Promote reuse of existing services
    * Reflection of end device capabilities to provide dynamic adaptation
    of content
    * Use of Jini and other service discovery technologies for distributed
    service execution
    * Impact of technologies like Bluetooth[10] on mobile middleware
    platform performance and scalability
    * Security
    * Efficient service provisioning and deployment mechanisms
    * Content Morphing
    * Support for provisioning services
With this workshop we plan to discuss and discover other unearthed
challenges in building such a system as well resolve these challenges
    in a collaborative manner.
    Goals
The goal of this workshop is twofold:
    (a) To discover the challenges as well as discuss and document the design
patterns and OO techniques used to resolve these challenges for
    building mobile wireless systems.
    (b) Stimulate discussion on the requirements and features of common APIs,
both between mobile clients and servers, and between services and
    the mobile application framework.
    Submission Requirements
Participants will be required to submit a 8-10 page technical paper
within the workshop deadline. Details are available at the website,

  • Activation Fee Waiver

Has anyone else experienced this? You are promised the activation fee waiver and they don't apply it to your bill and make you call in to get it. But when you do, your told that it wasn't noted on your account, so the best they could offer was half the credit?
Below was my experience: Please share comment if you have experienced this and how you go it resolved. I am at my wits end!!
I recently switched to Verizon Wireless after 13 Years with T-Mobile. I am very much regretting that decision with my recent experience with Verizon Wireless. As a part switching my service, one of the reps that I spoke with told me that they would wave my activation fee as part of my deal to switch over to VERIZON WIRELESS. I had not yet received my first bill, so I went online to your website so I could view my bill. That is when I noticed that the activation fee was showing on my bill. My first step was to speak with your agent via live chat. He submitted the request for me and told me I needed to call in to approve the request. When I called in, I spoke with a rep, (who was rude and kept speaking over me) and she said she didn’t see where that was notated on my account. But, that she could offer me ½ the fee in credit. That was not what I was promised, so I declined her offer and asked her to escalate my call to a super visor which she refused to do, because the supervisor could only offer the same thing. I had to ask her several more times to escalate my call before she placed me on hold to do so. They she came back and said her supervisor was busy because she was going into a meeting and again restated that all the supervisor could offer was the ½ credit for the activation fee. I asked the rep a few more questions, in which she continued to talk over me. Unable to tolerate her rudeness anymore, I hung up. I then call back in and spoke to a rep who immediately transferred me to the sales department. I then spoke to a woman who looked into the account and asked me the same questions. (She was very polite and knowledgeable.) She said not to worry, that she would notate on my account that it was a part of a promotion and then she would transfer me back to customer service so I could get the credit. Of course (it never fails) we were disconnected.  So I called back again, and this time, this rep could only see where the previous reps notes – stated that I was promised the fee waiver and did not receive it. And she said upon that alone she could not give me the credit. After this experience, I see that all the warnings I received about VERIZON WIRELESS are true and I am deeply disappointed! I am a very good and loyal customer – who pays on time and abides by the rules. However, I am sincerely hurt by this incident and could not in good conscious, recommend Verizon to anyone after this experience. I just want what I was promised originally by the sales rep…to have my activation fee waived. I would like a response (if willing to respond) to this complaint in writing as my experience with your company’s ability to properly document conversations has been poor.
    Any suggestions?
