Masters, Versins and Duplicates
History: I "think" this is an explanation for my current dilemma ...... My aperture photos were stored on a small external drive. For convenience and disconnect reasons I found this cumbersome and not satisfactory. So - I had more memory added to the hard drive and planned for it to be my Aperture 'base camp'. The tech. who transferred my Aperture Library (17,000 photos) from the small storage drive to the new HD location transferred versions instead of Masters. Hence there are MANY photos I can't edit without first finding and downloading their Masters images. So, as I am able, I have been spending an incredible amount of time importing Masters to the HD Library, and then eliminating related versions. I've learned that, because I lose size and quality, I can't simply do a drag-and-drop move. Instead I export Masters from the small external drive to a desktop file folder and then Import to the HD Library from there. It's a lot of time-consuming WORK! ... Work that becomes more challenging because, for some reason, there are many photos, (especially older ones that were downloaded from other than a camera card/with no keywords), that now have dates that are messed up - such that the version and Master image dates are different. Then it becomes next-to-impossible to find and match versions with Masters, in order to be sure both are available before deleting the version. ARGH!
Question: Is there any feature on Aperture that allows me to more easily find duplicates? (If not, is this a recommendation to be made to the powers-that-be?)
Can anyone recommend a simpler process for going through my Library and sorting this mess out?

I think the reason for no response to this question yet is because nobody that knows how Aperture works even knows where to start in explaining what to do or even what questions to ask to try to help you.
For instance I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "only the versions were moved" you can't really do that. If I took a complete guess at what happened is that your library was moved and you had your masters referenced on the external drive - somehow that reference got broken and your masters are off-line. If that is the case there are real simple ways to get them back on-line without reimporting and screwing everything up. If that is not the case I really don't even know where to start since the base line screw up is impossible.
Take a look around on my site for some file management stuff and see if you can formulate what actually happened so that we can better assist in a resolution.

Outside of your SAP system:
1. Install Data Services and the Address Directories.
2. Install Data Services Component.
3. Install the RFC Server.
On your SAP system:
4. Install the BAdIs from the previous version of this product.
5. Install the BAdIs support package from this version.
6. Run the post-installation tasks required of a new installation of the BAdIs.
7. Activate the IC WebClient, if desired.

By the way, into SAP OSS note "1565230 - dump after merging of BPs in IC webclient" it is written that it is not supported to integrate Business partner merge functionality to IC webclient.
Here below, an extract from the Note:
Reason and Prerequisites:
It is not supported to integrate Business partner merge functionality to IC webclient. Technically after the merging of Businss partners, the buffers of business transaction will be initalized at API layer directly, instead of by Genil layer. It is not possible to synchronize the buffer to BOL layer. Once you access to the business transaction which has been initialized during the merging of Business partners, the dump will occur.
Solution:
It is required to move the functionality to the business roles for
backoffice scenario, for example, SALESPRO etc.

I need fo flip, move and duplicate grouped objects in InDesign. So far I have those lines from OMV:

Those lines work for single object, and what I see in OMV, it should be the same for a group(?), but they don't work.

Yulia.I got it. The lines are correct, mistake was before the lines - in the group definition. Here what I got and it's working:

Alias Tables and Duplicate tables in Physical Layer

I have a small doubt in physical layer. We have two options when we right click table, 'Alias' and 'Duplicate'. To create another instance of a table, can we use any one of these. Does it make any difference

If u duplicate any table the join conditions will carry with respective tables , same name appending (TableName#1)
In case of alias u need to specify joins conditions explicitly
We can use same table with different constrains to the same table
Aliases used, if you need to replicate a physical table and not create multiple tables with the same data
If you delete any column in the Original table automatically deleted in alias
table and Its not reflected in Duplicate table.
Steps:
Right Click the original table. Choose New Object and choose Alias.
The mistake most people make is try to bring in the same table again and rename it or choose Duplicate by right clicking the original table.

In this doc we have table format where we specify item no, item description etc. In this table when we right click on particluar row we have option for add, delete, duplicate rows..etc.

Remove Advanced Pulldown and Duplicate Frames
I've been researching this but still have not figured it out:
When I import Canon XF100 footage shot in 24fps from my CF card into FCP 7, in the "Log and Transfer" window under "Preferences", should I check or uncheck "Remove Advanced Pulldown and Duplicate Frames"? My thought was to uncheck the box since it is a function specific to P2 cards and that it wouldn't make a difference either way for my footage. Also (and I could be wrong), I didn't think any pulldown was necessary since I was shooting in 24fps. However, when I examined 2 test clips taken through both paths, there was one noticeable difference: the unchecked clip is larger (644.8MB) than the checked (582.8MB). Hmmmm....
Does this mean the footage changes based on if that box is checked or not?
And in my shooting/import scenario, should I check or uncheck that box?

good to know. i agree. based on my conversations with the canon xf software folks, they were not entirely sure whether or not to check the box, so it doesn't seem to be a significant impact on the work flow.

If it re-downloads in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

I have some problems with rman and duplicate a database.
Im trying to duplicate a database on a anoter server than the target, and I have run the command SQL>startup force nomount, on the auxiliary system.
But I don't know what commands to use i rman.
Have backup-files on disk at the same server as the auxiliary system is on.
Any tips and tricks?!

Micke.I had the same question a while ago. The location of the files you'll need to restore from are specified in the controlfile. The location referenced in the controlfile will be the location where they were put but RMAN on your "source" server. So for instance, if RMAN drops the backup set in /opt/oracle/dbs/tmp, then your controlfile will point to /opt/oracle/dbs/tmp. (yours probably won't be here, it's just an example). Your controlfile WILL however have to go in the dbs directory, wherever that is.
What worked for me in the past was placing the backup files on the destination server in /home/oracle/backup_<date> and recreating the file structure based on that of the source server (even if it's just empty dirs) and symlink the last level of the tree to the folder where the files reside.
For example:
ln -s /home/oracle/backup_03272008 /opt/oracle/dbs/tmp
I think there's a more efficient way to do this, but this worked for me. -

This is regarding some function modules which are used for deleting invalid roles.These function modules are available only in CUA environment that is in Solution Manager environment only, not in ECC or other systems.Can anybody confiem which one of these function modules would be the best to delete roles of one's choice.The idea is we have identified the invalid and duplicate roles , but we need the function modules only to delete them , ie remove them from user's role profile..

How do I stop my playlists to stop repeated
If I go to sleep listening to a playlist, I will wake up in the middle of the night and the playlist has been starting from the top. I don't think that this used to happen. I would like the playlist to play once and stop. Any suggestions? Thanks
