Match code button

Hello all,
I have a screen design in Screen Painter and a lot of fields in it.
I've declared the fields in my program "type DBTABLE-DBFIELD" way and when I press F4 in the screen I get values available for search help. The problem is that the match-code button doesn't appear so the user could press it.
What should I do?

double click on the screen element to display its properties
then in program tab
go to poss. entries key...select SHOW PERMANENTLY

I read something about displaced artefacts in Tables. So I tried with a simple table and I still have the problem.

FBL5N : problem with Match-code

Hi,
In Tcode FBL5N i click on match-code of Customer Account's field to choose a Customer, in the first table (Customers by company code) when Ii click on one customer the list of customers is closed but i get nothing in Customer Account's field (it is empty)
Please how to resolve this problem ?

Hi ,
I had the same issue with FBL1N and I managed to solve it.
1. Open SE11
2. Select radio button search Help
3. Enter DEBI
4. Click on change
5. Choose Maint. in logon lang.
6. Go to tab Included search help
7. Select line DEBID
8. Click on Param. assignment
9. On the 1st line enter KUNNR C KUNNR
10. On the 2nd line enter BUKRS C BUKRS
11. Save
This should solve your issue.

How to do translations for match code ?

if you want to Translate it, you can use SE63 , and then choose appropriate object and then translate it, once your Translation over then Go to SE03 and then use the option Include Objects in A transport Request, and then in the selection screen click on Slected Objects Radio Button and then in the Table control enter
LOBJ under object, then give the Object Name.
checkbox RETR Object
Checkit R3TR LOBJ
then execute it and create the request.

Match code result not copied in the transaction

Hi there,
I had a request to check the following problem : in transaction VF02 (billing doc change), when finding a document through custom match code using the reference field, double clicking on the document in the result box does not copy the document number to the VF02 field. This is frustrating for the users...It seems that this behaviour is new.
I understood this is controlled through a database view (in this case M_VMCFX). When I compare with a standard matchcode that doesn't give problem, I notice that there is no generated view info when I do F1+technical details with this match code, I have M_VMCFA for the standard match code...
Any idea ?

Goto SE11, enter the custom match code in search help field, choosing search help radio button.
Check the EXP check box is selected for the field under consideration.

Hi,
I am trying to use a single select option in the report
s_acct FOR bsid-kunnr DEFAULT 9999990000 TO 9999999999.
Also,I have two radio buttons
p_ap RADIOBUTTON GROUP r1,
p_ar RADIOBUTTON GROUP r1,
I AM TRYING TO ACHIEVE:(F4 functionality depending on the radio buttons selected)
If p_ap is selected i am trying to get match codes(F4)
of Vendors(bsik-lifnr) and if p_ar is selected get the match code of Customer(bsid-kunnr).
Please let me know if there is any easy workaround.

Even if you use one select option you will have to do some processing to differentiate in your database selections in report . Why dont you use two select options like this ( Only one will be displayed on screen at a time depending on radibutton and you don't need to code for F4 )

Later in the program you can always copy both selction options to another ranges variable which you can use if required.

Help in Match-code for field SEARK (Search Term)

Friends, in my aplication was necessary insert the match-code for SEARK field.
I use the function module RH_OBJID_REQUEST in the form OPEN_BOX2 at the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR so_requi-low.
When I use this match-code and select the 4 itens and clique the OK button, only the last item appears in the field.
Anyone else had this problem?
Can someone help me?

It is a CHAR 30 field for which most of the times no values are entered

Match Code Or Trick for Old Article Number

Hello Retail Expert,
Can anybody know match-code or Shortcut to enter Article Display screen (TA MM43) directly with old Article number?
My business people dont want to go through search help. They have always worked with Old Article Number or EAN. To enter with EAN directly I found it (i.e. (=n.) then EAN no.) but its not enough becuase only store work with EAN but DC people work with only Article number( which is now in SAP as Old article no). I can enter Article Master Data over search help using Old Article Number. If anybody know such kind of Match code or tricks, please do let me know.
Or any other suggestion are welcome.

Hi, You are almost right with your idea. If you access the "!Matchcode" button next to your article number field, then you will get a huge list for selection incl. the "hot keys" (e.g. N for EAN) For the old article number, the related hot key is "A".
If you now use the hot key A in this way (is for all hot keys the same logic) =A.xxxxx (xxxxx stands for the old article number) the systemwill convert the value into the actual article number io enter the article master data.
To sum up, guys in the Store should use =N. whereas guys in the DC are using =A.
If you might use a scanner, the scanner could defaulted with this "hot keys" in oder to speed up the access.

Window freezes when Product category selected via match-code (search help)

Hello Experts,
I am using SRM 7.0 Extended Classic Scenario.
I maintained a product category hierarchy in the SRM environment.
I maintained the GL Accounts related, the tax determination, the source system etc.
I did all this customizing in a Development environment where everything was working fine.
Now I just transported all this to a Quality environment.
And in the Quality I am facing the following issue :
If I select a product category via the match-code (search help), after the category is selected, the window freezes.
I have to shut it down manually using the Windows Close button.
However, when I type the category number, everything works fine.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this issue, and how to fix it ?

We have the exact same issue in SRM 7.0 Extented Classic Scenario. This was working fine before we installed the latest support package 11. Which support package do you have?
The same problem occurs with every drop down menu (search help) in EBP. For example when creating a new shopping cart, if I try to add approver, the same thing happens. After clicking 'Approval Process: Display / Edit Agents' > 'Add Approver', the window freezes. Same thing happens with IE8 and Firefox 3.6.13. Could you also try the same?
Could it be a new bug in SP11?

In Older SAP versions Match codes are used, now they are replaced by SEARCH HELPs
there 2 types of search helps
Elementary and Collective
see the doc and create accordingly
1) Elementary search helps describe a search path. The elementary search help must define where the data of the hit list should be read from (selection method), how the exchange of values between the screen template and selection method is implemented (interface of the search help) and how the online input help should be defined (online behavior of the search help).
2) Collective search helps combine several elementary search helps. A collective search help thus can offer several alternative search paths.
3)An elementary search help defines the standard flow of an input help.
4) A collective search help combines several elementary search helps. The user can thus choose one of several alternative search paths with a collective search help.
5)A collective search help comprises several elementary search helps. It combines all the search paths that are meaningful for a field.
6)Both elementary search helps and other search helps can be included in a collective search help. If other collective search helps are contained in a collective search help, they are expanded to the level of the elementary search helps when the input help is called.
CREATION:
Go to SE11 Tcode
select search help
give the 'z' search help name and create
select the selection method ur table name eg : 'mara'
dialog module 'display value immediately'.
add the field whatever u want and lpos = 1 and spos = 1 and check import and export parameter.
where left position when displaying and spos = search position
and then save and activate ..

1.......I created a match code object
i.e select-options : s_mara for mara-matnr matchcode object mobj.
when i execute the report the lower limit will assign to matchcode object.
but when i click on search help it shows that no values found for object mobj.
on what reason it will cause?how to fill that object mobj with records?

hIGeetha,
Follow these steps for creating match code.
now go to SE11 click on search help button and create.
click on elementary search help
once you have created you will see selection method there give there your table name (lfa1)
in the paremeters give the field name <field name> and click on EXP button Lpos as 1 & Spos as 1 then enter and save.
In the code give this way
select-options: S_<fieldname> for lfa1-<fieldname> MATCHCODE OBJECT MCO..
ACTIVATE AND EXECUATE WHEN U CLICK ON F4 you can see the values.

Match code in report selection screen does not show any values for 0FISCPER

Hi Experts,
I have problem with selection screen in several reports. When I use match code for fiscal period selection I get only # as a possible value. I have checked the master data they seem to be correct. I work with 7.0 BW system. Can you please give me any hint what I should check?

maybe I ask different way - how do you add characteristic values for a characteristic in the BEx? Is it automated somehow in SAP (e.g. from master data)? For the fiscal period I use custommer exit to fill in the default value, which is the current fiscal period. But this is something different, right?

How to delete duplicate entries in match code

I want to delete duplicate entries in match code.

If you go down the search exit route, using function module F4_IF_SHLP_EXAMPLE or function module F4_IF_SHLP_EXIT as a template you want it where callcontrol-step = 'DISP'. You would sort the table: SORT RECORD_TAB BY STRING and then delete adjacent duplicates. If this does not wok because of the fields you have in your search help, you will need to select the data into another internal table and match the relevant entries from your internal table with the relevant position in field STRING of RECORD_TAB. The positions in STRING will be as per the order of the parameters you have defined in the search help.
