Match Edges performance issue
The Match Edges filter only samples pixels from directly under the current layer's own boundaries for the blending calculation, yet the overall canvas size has a huge impact on the processing time. This makes the filter unusable for larger images, even if only a small layer needs to be blended.
Shooting JPEG should not be an issue when using that feature, I don't think. I have never encountered that problem. I use MTE when I am planning to stitch a panorama in Photoshop. It has always worked consistently for me. How many images are you trying to match at one time? And, are they all of a similar subject in a similar light?

Performance Issues with Photoshop CS6 64-Bit

Issue at hand: over the course of the last few weeks, I have noticed significant issues with performance since the last update to PS CS6 via the Adobe Application Manager, ranging from unexpected shut downs to bringing my workstation to a crawl (literally, my cursor seems to crawl across my displays). I'm curious as to if anyone else is experiencing these issues, or if there is a solution I have not yet tried. Here is a list of actions that result in these performance issues - there are likely more that I have either not experienced due to my frustration, or have not documented as occuring multiple times:
Opening files - results in hanging process, takes 3-10 seconds to resolve
Pasting from clipboard - results in hanging process, takes 3-10 seconds to resolve
Saving files - takes 3-10 seconds to open the dialog, another 3-10 seconds to return to normal window (saving a compressed PNG)
Eyedropper tool - will either crash Photoshop to desktop, or take 5-15 seconds to load
Attempting to navigate any menu - will either crash Photoshop to desktop, or take 5-15 seconds to load
Attempts I've taken to resolve this matter, which have failed:
Uninstalled all fonts that I have added since the last update (this was a pain in the ***, thank you Windows explorer for being glitchy)
Uninstall application and reinstall application
Use 32-bit edition
Changing process priority to Above Normal
Confirm process affinity to all available CPU cores
Change configuration of Photoshop performance options
61% of memory is available to Photoshop to use (8969 MB)
History states: 20; Cache levels: 6; Cache tile size: 1024K
Scratch disks: active on production SSD, ~10GB space available
Dedicated graphics processor is selected (2x nVidia cards in SLI)

Instead of selecting each fields and putting it in each fileds in internal table, we can select the fields and put it into the internal table which contains the required fields.
Eg.

Performance issue on the sys.dba_audit_session
i have the following query which is taking long time and had performance issue.

The view dba_audit_session is a select from the view dba_audit_trail. If you
look at the definition of dba_audit_trail it does a CAST on the ntimestamp#
column. Therefore disabling index access because there is not a function
based index on ntimestamp#. I am not even sure a function based index would
work to match what the view does.

could you comment on this ?The query is run by grid Control (or DBConsole) to count the metric related to audit sessions which is ON by default in 11g. To decrease the impact of this query you should purge the aud$ table regularly.
Best way is to use DBMS_AUDIT_MGMT to periodically purge the data older than "whatever date". If you don't need the audit infor, you can simply truncate aud$. -
Expression Filter Performance Issues / Misuse?
I'm currently evaluating the Expression Filter functionality for a new requirement. The basic idea of the requirement is that I have a logging table that I want to get "interesting" records from. The way I want to set it up is to exclude known, "uninteresting", records or record patterns.
So as far as an implementation I was considering a table of expressions that contained expression filter entries for the "uninteresting" records and checking this against my logging table using the EVALUATE operator and looking for a 0 result.
In my testing I wanted to return results where the EVALUTE operator is equal to 1 to see if my expressions are correct. In doing this I was experiencing significant performance issues. For example my test filter matches 72 rows out of 61657 possible entries. It took Oracle almost 10 minutes to evaluate this expression. I tried it with and without an Expression Filter index with no noticeable change in execution time. The test case and query is provided below.
Is this the right use case for Expression Filter? Am I misunderstanding how it works? What am I doing wrong?

If you are already using the queries and are stable enough then rather than modifying query you can try other options to improve the query performance like data compression of the cube, creation of aggregates, placing cube on BIA or creating cache for the query.

I am facing performance issue when fetch the data from view IAOM_CRM_AUFK.My perspective to fetch the internal order from that table by passing the OBJECT_ID which is not the primary key..Also the field IHREZ is not the primary key of table VBKD..

I know that OBJECT_ID is no good access to view IAOM_CRM_AUFK..But I have no way..Because I have got IHREZ from VBKD table which only match with the field OBJECT_ID of view IAOM_CRM_AUFK...
I have to fetch internal order no. on the basis of Sales order no..Forr this reason First I have put Sales order no in VBKD table and get IHREZ and then put IHREZ in the field OBJECT_ID of view IAOM_CRM_AUFK..then I have got AUFNR which is internal order..

Performance issues in latest PPAPI Flash Player releases?
Hi there,
I've recently noticed some pretty serious performance issues in the latest versions of the PPAPI Flash Player in Chrome.
I'm using:
Windows 7 64-bit
Chrome Version 41.0.2272.101 m (64-bit)
Flash Player PPAPI Version: 17.0.0.134
I've noticed a large drop in performance recently when updating Chrome, I have been using Away3D 4.1 (using Stage3D) to create a series of Generative Art experiments, if you check out the one below I find that in Internet Explorer and Firefox (using the NPAPI version of the Flash Player) the FPS performance on my system is around 35-40 fps for me, but in Chrome's PPAPI player it drops drastically to around 6 or 7 fps.
I just recently updated my Chrome version so this is a recent change... around a few weeks ago this content was working fine in Chrome, around the same 35-40 fps I am getting in other browsers.

OAM 11g R2- Performance issue /oam/auth/cred

we are facing issues regarding oam performance we are seeing unusual time delay on load, at submission of /oam/auth/cred to the landing page. we have 2 managed server having 2gb of heap size.

This error occurs during login, if some credentials or request ID is not provided in post data. Your issue is because of performance issue only.
Try increasing cache size: OAM Console --> Access Manager --> Access Manager Settings --> Try increasing Resource Matching cache
Check Session Count: Check number of sessions present while running load run, which gives actual users successfully logging in.
Which tool you are using for performance test?
What are server usages during test? (all servers)
Try to login manually during test and check if you are able to login or not?

Hyperion Interactive reporting performance issue.
Hi,
We created a report in Hyperion Interactive reporting using Hyperion Essbase as database connection file .
Report performance was good in Interactive reporting Studio we don't have any problem in studio.
when we open the the report in Hyperion Workspace We are facing performance issue of the report and also when i hit refresh button to refresh data in the Workspace,i am getting the following error message
*"An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred - Failed to acquire requested service. Error Code : 2001"*
Any suggestions to resolve this will be really helpful.

Error: "An Interactive Reporting Service Error has Occurred. Failed to Acquire Requested Service. Error Code: 2001" when Processing a bqy Report in Workspace. [ID 1117395.1]

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Obtaining the following error when trying to process a BQY that uses an Essbase data source in Workspace:
"An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred. Failed to acquire requested service. Error Code: 2001".
Cause
The name of the data source in the CMC contained the machine name in fully qualified name format whereas the OCE contained the machine name only. This mismatch in machine names caused the problem. Making the machine name identical in both cases resolved the problem.
Solution
Ensure that the name of the data source as specified in the OCE in Interactive Reporting Studio matches the name specified in the CMC tool in the field "Enter the name of the data source".
In fact, all fields need to match between the OCE and the CMC Data Source.

I have worked on ECC 6.0 and now i have got a new job and now working in 4.7 for support project. I feel it is very difficult after working in 6.0.

I faced the same problem,. I am in support now for last 3 months...
So let me share some of the tips and tricks I follow...
In ECC 6.0 there is always less data... since the database may be from 2005 but not early than that...
But for 4.7 EE it may be from 1997 also... like mine...
Since of a huge database,,, some times the select statements you write will not work in PRD & QAS..
You will get Request Timed Out.
So you need to be more carefull at select statements,,, match as many as primary keys.. and learn Secondary indexes,,, and must should have a good idea on foreign key relations very well...
About the like or Occurs..etc. you dont worry about that,, that is very easy.... and if there is a modification you can write the code almost all like the ECC 6.0...

Premiere Pro 2014 8.1 Poor Performance Issues
I'm having the following issues across Premiere, Audition, and Media Encoder:
1. Slow, choppy, unpredictable playback in the timeline
-I'm using a Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K for monitor output, and that plays out smooth in general
2. Overall UI lag
-Clicking between files
-Clicking between Sequence tabs
-Clicking on clips in Icon view and scrubbing is slow
3. Export and Media Encoder Presets buggy
-Cannot change the settings for codecs (button is non-selectable)
-Media Encoder crashes when exporting certain presets (h.264, etc.)
4. Specifically, I've tried transcoding a ProRes LT 1080p 23.98 Sequence > ProRes LT 720p 59.94 Quicktime for playback on an Atomos Samurai Blade. This workflow
worked fine until I updated to 8.1.
The only solutions I've seen thus far have been to trash prefs and clean the cache, but I honestly think there may need to be a major cleanup on Adobe's end.
Anyone else having issues like these?

Update any GPU driversYou have AMD, so you can't do this with Mac OS X.
Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
This one causes a lot of performance issues in Mavericks and YosemiteImportant: Pay attention to the step about “Apply to enclosed items…”
You can also rename the folders recommended in the blog post
Delete media cache
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installedThis was a bug fixed in 8.0.
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardwareDisconnect any BMD or external drives (if you can)
See if changing the setting for the Mercury Playback Engine to Software only helps
Do a test with a brand new project and non-QuickTime/ProRes source and see if you have those issues.Projects updated from 8.0 and 8.0.1 might have issues updating to 8.1.
Make sure all other applications are closed, including web browsers and other Adobe applications.
Disable App Nap
Reboot

Performance issues (specifically iMovie) whilst charging?

MBP (3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo; 4GB RAM) running 10.6.7.
I am working on an iMovie '11 (9.0.2) project, and was having sporadic performance issues with iMovie - jittery sound, video playback freezing, and eventual non-responsiveness of iMovie itself.
I tried all the usual things - nothing helped - and then, one evening, everything resolved itself. Hurrah! Except that the following evening, I was having the same problems again.
In a desperate attempt to find the root cause, I realised that the only thing different between the two evenings was that I had been working on battery alone (i.e. with the power supply not connected) the first evening, but with the power supply connected on the second evening. So, I unplugged the magsafe connector and... hey presto, eveything works again.
I can now reproduce and resolve the problem at will. And yes - my performance settings for battery & adapter are identical, before anyone asks And yes, I am reporting this the right way around: the performance issue does indeed occur when connected to the power.
So I'm posting this in part in case anyone else is seeing a similar issue : maybe this will help? Also: is anyone seeing the same behaviour? I've only seen this happening with iMovie - but it's a general issue, and I'm just picking it up in iMovie which is (relatively) CPU hungry. Or maybe it's specific to my machine...?what games?

I game some on my imac a never mess with the video settings the game automaticly adjust to match my hardware setup
and I have not more problems with heat then in osx
but then my screen is only fullHD and most games res end up being much lower then that when the game adjust for the hardware
about running with the power connected then in an ideal world then without the power connected it would disable your video card and use the crappy intel onboard to save power
but people repport that does not seem to happen with bootcamp
but likely other things in the computer will adjust to battery mode such as the cpu
with or without apple drivers the intel cpu would adjust which could show how it seem to overheat more when
power is connected and the cpu is not trottled -
VA05 Performance issues & search indices

We have a performance issue with transaction VA05 (list of sales orders). On searching SAP notes as well as all forums, no information relevant to our case could be found, so posting it here.
When we run VA05 with selection criteria - customer purchase order number (BSTKD), sales area (VKORG, VTWEG, SPART), the search takes about 5 min or more and times out for some selections. However when I terminate the transaction and rerun it by leaving VTWEG and SPART blank (or VTWEG alone blank), the search is surprisingly quicker - about 5 sec.
An input from our ABAP expert is that ideally VBKD data (based on BSTKD) should be read first and this data should be further filtered after reading VBAK; however transaction VA05 reads both tables independently, i.e. fetches handful records from VBKD for matching BSTKD and several thousands of records from VBAK (matching VKORG, VTWEG, SPART) and then does an 'intersection'. So it is this VBAK table that seems to cause the performance issue.
So we updated statistics of both tables, changed the estimate % from 1 to 10 still there is no improvement. What I don't understand is when only BSTKD and VKORG (VKORG is mandatory) are chosen, the search is much quicker though it is the same two tables relevant for search in both cases. It couldn't have always been this way because this dip in performance is a phenomenon identified only recently.
Can someone please throw some light on this or advise how performance can be improved with complete sales area in selection? (sales area is required in selection as VA05 is used by different businesses)

Performance issue at Webi/Universe
Hi BO Experts,
I am new to Business objects.
I have developed a new universe and webi reports, but I am facing some performance issues at webi side. Below I am furnishing my development details; please let me know how I can overcome with the performance issues.
1. Created a Query on Multiprovider (query is having nearly 125 objects (Info objects (restricted with hierarchies), navigational attributes & restricted key figures).
2. Developed a new universe on the query.
3. As part of performance- restricted the some fields at query filters and also applied conditions at universe level.
4. Created a webi report and it is generating the results for 8 fields (4 characteristics (hierarchy levels) + 4 restricted key figures) and also I used 5 conditions at webi report filters.
Finally, my Webi results are matching with BW query results, but Webi report is taking more time ( approximately 15 min. ) when I compare with BW query results( approximately 1min. ) and MDX query(approximately 2 min.) results. Requesting t you to please let me know, if I need to do any changes at universe or webi or bw query level to overcome with this performance issue.

Here are few steps to improve the performance:
Try to build the aggrregrates at Cube leve for those Characterstics which u are using frequenlty in WEBI Reports.
As you are using Hierarchy, the report performance will be always not good.
I suggest this can be best handled in BI Modelling Level only instead of handling the same at WEBI Report Level as at WEBI Reports we dont have much options to improve the performance
Also, I suggest you to look into the Query performance at BEX Level and then use the Query for further connections

I've got 2C30s + 1C300 on an ISP network and these are being used for both incoming and outgoing mails.
Recently, we started having performances issues where the workqueue was paused several times daily(reason paused on antivirus,antispam,etc). This eventually causes the workqueue to backup like 10k-20k and the units don't process mails rapidly.
I also noted some viruses(i.e: MyTob) being detected and was wondering whether IronPort/Sophos engine is not being able to scan the messages properly, thus resulting in this huge performance issue.
We also get lots of sophos timeouts daily. it's set to 120 seconds.
RAM comes up to 60%, even if traffic is not that huge.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

I did increase/decrease the antivirus timeouts, but no changes.
It seems that it has difficulty scanning the files.
