Hello @Susandoman,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing issues when attempting to scan from your HP Officejet to your Windows 8 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. You do need to have the Full Feature Software and Drivers loaded for your HP Officejet printer on your Windows 8 computer in order to have full feature access to your printer. However, in order for me to assist you with installing the Full Feature Software and Driver package for your machine I do need to know what HP Officejet product you have.
What's my Model Number?
In the meantime, can I have you click here to download and install the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. This Tool will 'fix scanning' issues for you. Should any driver, software, or connection conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you.
Please respond to this post with the result of running the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. Should the scanning issue persist, be sure to include your HP Officejet model number so I can provide additional assistance. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • First, i want to know how can i pair my iPhone 5 with my lenovo laptop?

First, i want to know how can i pair my iPhone 5 with my lenovo laptop? and second i want to extend my warranty under apple care in india. how can i do that??

There are many apps in the App Store for transferring files between a computer and an iPhone using a cable, WiFi, or a cloud connection. Box and Dropbox cloud services are the easiest to use; I use Dropbox routinely to transfer business documents to our offices around the world.
Evernote is another widely used cloud service.
For local WiFi transfers there's Documents to Go, Airsharing, QuickOffice, and several dozen more. Documents to Go and QuickOffice also let you edit MS Word documents on the iPhone.

  • New Lenovo laptop: Bluetooth enabled but never sees any devices.

Really nasty one this; Bluetooth working fine under Windows (urgh) but never sees any devices under Linux. No errors at all; it just never sees anything. The device is of this type:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0bda:b728 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
It looks like I'm not the only person with this problem:

I have tried the LTS kernel and get the same problem. I'm not sure what to try to debug it, TBH I can't find out what kernel module is driving it. The radio is definitely detected, powered on and unblocked:

I have another Lenovo laptop running a very similar install of Arch and this works fine. This has a different Bluetooth adaptor though, made by Intel with USB ID 8087:07da. If they're side-by-side I can pair a mouse and a phone to the other one, but nothing at all shows up on the one with the Realtek adaptor. Any help would be very much appreciated!
EDIT: Just tried this laptop with Ubuntu 14.04 and 12.04.5, didn't work with either. Same problem. Bearing in mind the two threads linked above are unanswered and this clearly hasn't broken recently, I guess this adaptor just doesn't work in Linux (yet). Looks like I'll be returning this one to the store, which is a shame as it took me months to find a 1080p laptop for a reasonable price.
EDIT: Unnecessary test but Fedora 20 behaves exactly the same. I'm not sure how many current laptops on the market use this chipset, but it looks like a lot of Lenovos do. I have a netbook with a Realtek SD card reader that stopped working in Linux due to some kernel modules being amalgamated, but it works again with the current kernel. I may just sit tight on this one.

I had similar issues, downgrading to bluez4 might help, but I found it was much more of a hassle.
I had the most success using vanilla bluetoothctl commands to pair with the device, then using dbus commands to register the bluetooth device as a network access point or see device capabilities.
Are you using a network manager? I found NetworkManager was unable to set up the access point due to an error with its dhcp client setup, but connman was able to do it. Or by issuing the right dbus command, I created the network device manually and then ran dhcpcd on it directly.

  • Expansion base xb3000 - compatible with new HP laptops?

    Good morning all!
I am currently using a DV8305 laptop connected to a xb3000 expansion base.  It is a great set up!  I would like to get a new laptop (something in the DV7 range) and use it with my old xb3000. The problem is, none of the new HP laptops are listed in the online compatibility list (and I dont want to buy a new expansion base.)  The xb3000 appears to have an Expansion Port 3 connector (as do selected HP laptops), so it should work.... or would it?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Ian
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I am using the xb3000 with my new DV7-1135NR and it works perfectly. I bought an xb 3000 power supply on Ebay for about $15.00 and noted that the output is 18.5v and 4.9amps. The power supply for my DV7-1135NR is 18.5V and 4.9 amps. Electronics experts tell me that the difference is completely negilble and harmless.
Suggest you check your laptop power supply against the above, and make sure you have or acquire one with the base expansion port on the left side of the laptop.
Mine is working perfectly, charges my laptop and powers it during operation. No problems whatsoever. All of the features of the xb3000 (i.e. usb ports, volume control, power switch, etc) are active and completely functional.
I might add that HP tech support (if you can call it that!!) kept me on chat and subsequently on the phone for 30 minutes before advising me that my laptop was NOT compatible with the xb3000. Further, they could NOT identify the drive that is compatible with the drive bay on the xb3000. Just for info, HP sells an adapter for $19.00 that allows HP mini drives to be used in the xb3000. The mini drives are sold direct on the HP website is the adapter and they are very reasonably priced. As a matter of fact, priced much better than the one dimensional and proprietary drives originally sold for the xb3000.
Well, lots of info here. Hope this helps. Good luck and best regards,
    ClaptonSTL

  • Firefox very slow and Thunderbird not responding with new HP laptop.

I recently purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 8. I had been using Firefox and Thunderbird on both my old laptop and desktop with no problem. However, since trying to use both on my new machine, Firefox has slowed down to the point of making it impractical to use. And whenever I log into Thunderbird, it takes at least 10 minutes and more before Thunderbird becomes responsive.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Are there any solutions?

  • How to create Rescue and Recovery disc for Windows Vista Home Basic with G530 Lenovo Laptop?

    Hi All,
I have purchased G530 Lenovo laptop 2 weeks back.
I coudn't find installation/recovery discs in my laptop box.
I went across the forums and came to know that it is not available now-a-days as it was coming previously.
So, anybody can help me, how to create a recovery disc?
This is needed when I format my laptop.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Umesh.

Click on what used to be the "Start" button and search for "create" or "recovery". It took me a while to find it but it is there.
Use a cd for the first disc and 2 DVD's for the other discs.

  • Ipad and iphone will not sync with a new Lenovo laptop

My iphone and ipad synced contacts with a wire flawlessly until I changed to a new PC.  I work for Oracle so I cannot config to use iCloud.  I checked the Library Persistent ID on the new laptop and it is the same as the old one.  Do I need to wipe my devices and start over?

Syncing to iCloud has nothing to do with who your employer is. That's just a silly and unintelligent statement.
Move all your data from the old computer to the new computer then sync the device or setup iCloud syncing.

  • Sync with new windows laptop

I had a laptop I used to Sync with my iPhone 5 and I no longer have access to it. I purchased a new laptop with Windows 8 and iTunes loaded but I need to have iPhone files (music, photos, videos, apps, etc.) to be transferred to the library. I believe in an older version of iTunes you could opt for the device have priority over the iTunes library but it doesn't seem to have that feature anymore (if it ever did).
I downloaded a free app (AVGO) and backed up all the files (except for the apps!!!) to my laptop. It also gives you the option to export the files to iTunes library but I don't think it did! I don't have any Photos in iTunes (there's no option for Photos at all!) and my playlists don't show.
Is there a painless way to sync the laptop to my iPhone 5? It is bizarre that iTunes does not provide that functionality! Thank you in advance
    Kevin

Carolyn - thanks, but I had already authorized my new laptop.  When I try to Sync, essentially nothing happens - for about a second iTunes says it's synchronizing my iPod, which it recognizes as mine, but then the iPod immediately says it's ready to disconnect.  The iPod has about 65 gigabytes of songs on it and for several years, with my old, original laptop, when I synced, iTunes would update any new downloads and playlists onto the iPod.  Since I got the new laptop, I have about 2-3 GB of new music on it and a few new playlists and they won't update to my iPod.  I hate to have to "restore" the iPod, which I think overwrites everything on the iPod and would likely take 3-4 hours at the 1 song per second figure I've seen quoted, but if that's the only way to do it, I guess I can.  Any other suggestions?

  • HP7250 Scanner error no destination with new HP laptop Win7

I get "The program could not find any available destinations to which scans can be sent." on new laptop.  Did all the update downloads and troublehooting.  Uninstalled and reinstalled. Now,  on printer, I press "scan to computer" get "No scan options".

Hello CactusComet, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having scan issues.  I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first. I am linking a few HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. With this information we can provide you with accurate information.

Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

  • Airport Basestation A1143 slow connection with PC Lenovo Laptop

I have a strange mystery in my hands. I was issued a company laptop for work, a Lenovo T420 running Windows XP. During work I am on the intranet and wifi if I'm at Starbucks or other wifi areas. At home I have installed an Airport Basestation A1143 and had updated with the latest firmware 7.6 I believe. I have my personal PC running Windows 7 and I have a Powerbook G4 and I watch Netflix streamling thru my Wii. All connections are fine and dandy until I turn on my work laptop. The T420 connection is so impossibly slow at home. My default browser is Explorer but I have used Chrome and it is still slow, so slow that if I want to log in to vpn for work, it would time-out. My initial suspicion was there's something wrong with my T420. However, countless useage at non-Airport basestations proved me wrong. I even visited Apple store this evening and the basestation check out fine and the Mac Genius told me to connect the store's wifi and the same problem occured, is it just my laptop is not compatible with Apple wifi ?

Cordless phone interference is the most common cause of wireless network slow downs. Do you have any cordless phones there?
Do you have any kind of electrical device close the AirPort Extreme?  Any other electronic devices need to be as far away as possible from the AirPort Extreme. That may mean that you need to get a longer Ethernet cable and move the AirPort Extreme to a better location away from other electronic devices.
A wireless keyboard and/or wireless mouse can cause problems as well if you are using them. Try to connect using a wired keyboard and mouse if you have them available to see if that makes a difference.
Apple' s support document on Wireless Interference will give you more ideas as well.

You can manually manage music and videos among different computer/libraries if yoo use the manua method of:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
