Matching MPN to MPC

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and hopefully in the right location. I'm working on an asset management project at our company. We use Lenovo products across the globe. A number of systems store the MPC for a Lenovo machine and other's use the MPN. I would like to try and create a master table where I could map these up and normalize the data.
Is there a guide, manual, etc - that exists where I can start to build such a mapping? I don't want to really google every number to determine what it may or may not link to.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As far as I remember spaces (significant spaces) are treated the same with CaseExactMatch or CaseIgnoreMatch matching rules.
But the fact that the EQUALITY specified in the schema definition is not taken into account and the attribute still uses a caseIgnoreMatch is a known limitation in the current versions of Directory Server.
You may want to switch the definition of the attribute to an IA5String.

MPC to Logic Pro

I am considering buying a new Akai MPC.
How easy is it to connect the MPC to my G5 and set it up with logic? And to start making music?

If the MPC can store its music files in standard WAV data format on your G5 via USB, then all you might need to buy is a USB cable. If the MPC data format is exclusively for MPC use only, then you will only be able to use your G5 as storage bank for MPC files. Next option...burn your beats to CD on the MPC and RIP to your G5. Next option, use an audio/midi interface that can connect with your computer via USB or firewire... then stream realtime audio into Logic (not recommended). Next option, save your $2000 and just use Logic's Ultra beat to make beats. I bought a great collection of samples used by Kanye West online from Crate Kings for $35. I plan on getting Timberlands next. Ultrabeats sample browser allows me to hear a sample with a single mouse click or scroll down and drag them into the drum sequencer to build my own sample kit to record live or construct step by step. Plus, the MPC synth is dwarfed by Logics software synths. Get an Akai MPD24 USB/MIDI MPC style Pad Controller for $199 from musicians friend. Since the PAD controller only has one basic function it shoudn't take much longer to learn how to use it than an MPC would. Plus, no file transfer hassle and you can use Logic to program the PAD controller functions to match many of the functions you like about the MPC's control features. Just my opinion, though. If the MPC appeals better to your creative soul... go for it... and just keep ridin' da' beat!

Marketing Part Number (MPN)- where is it?

I am trying to find the marketing part number on my macbook (OS X v 10.4.11) and i went to the system profiler and it isn't there. I see the serial number, but thats it; no MPN. I do not have the original packaging of my notebook, so this is the only other way I have heard of to find it. Is there another way to find this number? thanks!

This gives the same info. Just go down the line here and match your processor type and speed. It will give the model number.

Does mPC 51PV = Junk?

Hello,
I've had three of these machines, each one has broken and I've already sent 2 of them back - and now the third ones is as good as dead.
Is this board a load of rubbish or what? Has anyone else had problems with this?
I build it as follows:
Spec:
MEGA mPC 51PV + wifi
LG DVD-recorder IDE GSA-4040B
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 80GB SATA
Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 800MHz PC2-6400 XMS2 CL5 1.9V Matched Pair
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ / 2x512KB / 65W, ADO3800CUBOX
Samsung SM940N 19" LCD
It all works in this setup, but then I plug in a second LCD to the DVI port on the machine. This kills everything and the machine never boots again, crashing during the bios boot, before it even gets to booting the OS.
I decided to write off the DVI port, and buy a Sparkle GeForce 7300 PCIex card. Installing this, also kills the machine - It's dead even if I remove the card and go back to the working configuration.
The two I returned were tested and confirmed dead by eBuyer. I haven't tested the CPU and ram separately, though I've tried single ram modules at a time, and the first machine reinstalled windows and ran a partition management CD without an issue - it takes a fair bit of effort to move and copy a partition, so I'd have thought any major problems would have surfaced then. It just seems to die as soon as I try to get two screens going, in any way.
It's likely I'll return this 3rd one and buy a shuttle PC, it's annoying as the nearest spec is nearly twice the price. You get what you pay for it seems!

When I power up, somtimes it hangs during POST, sometimes just before booting. I have to turn it off on the back to get it back to life. Occasionally if fails to boot windows properly too, showing garbage on the screen, and sometimes the bios screen breaks up and the bios crahses.
Having failed to get VGA+DVI ports to work as dual head, I also bought a SPARKLE NX7300GS. 512MB (256MB) however the boot problems still happened, though I've been able to run dual head, one screen on each graphics card (onboard, pciex).
Any wisdom would be appreciated - I'll post back with any more detailed fault information I can find...
Incidentally, does it definitey /not/ do dual head onboard? Why the 2 graphics ports otherwise?
I've also had a few issues with the wireless network card: Using WPA/WPA2-PSK AES encription, it seems to have difficulty connecting, and wont work at all with the driver from windows update.

MPC error of initial values used for initiallizing

Hi All,
I am trying to develop a MPC (Model predictive control). I have modified an example but its giving me inial value error. Can anyone help me in solving this problem. I have one input, two measured disturbances and one output system. the constraint on input are 0-210, output values are from 10-60 and disturbance one has value of 10-55 and disturbance two has value range of 0-1500. Please also if you find some other error let me know.
Your help will be really appreciated.
PS: it is not a course work or any other kind of assingment.....

How have you been getting on with this? Sorry for the slow response.
The reason that you are receiving the error is that the matrix sizes of the initial conditions does not match the dimensions of the model system - if you probe the MPC Controller Parameters and MPC Initial Conditions of CD Create MPC Controller you will see this.

Use one account for apps and other for itunes match

Hello everybody
My question today is quite simple. I use one account for apps and tv shows, but inwant to use a different itunes account for purchasing itunes match. How can I use them both on my devices? Will it be asking for my user-pass each time i play a song? What other thing should i consider?

I would strongly recommend you not do this. You will regret it.
I have played with this issue a lot. You have to remain signed into match in order for it to show up on your phone. If you sign out to purchase an app or redownload one from your appstore id you use then match will be removed from your phone and when you go into your music app the icloud will not be there. You then have to go sign back out of the store id you used for your app purchase and then sign back into match and everything will have to go though the download to your device process again. This really is not what you want to do.
Sign up to match with the apple id that you know you will use the most or has the most purchased items and use that for all purchases, i.e. books, apps, movies, and music. You don't want to go though the other process.
Plus apple will start not letting you sign into match because you signed out and back in, in to short a period of time.
all store purchases on an iphone are linked to the store id. if you sign out of your match id on the appstore and sign into another account to purchase an app then itunes match will sign out in the music app. You can't have two store id's signed into your iphone at the same time. They are all linked together.

How can 2 family members who share an iTunes library both use iTunes match?

My wife and I both share an iTunes library on the same Macbook and both sync our phones to that computer. We each have our own Apple ID and we use a 3rd account for iCloud for Photostream. In ios5 we were able to both access the music library on our iPhones via iTunes match while signed in under our unique IDs. Now, it will only let one ID access the music on the phones. How can I get it to work like it used to, where we can both access the music while both continuing to be logged in under our own IDs on our own phones?

I am taking this slowly so I have not added my iTunes music to the new laptop yet until I figure out how to make it work. But I have just downloaded a digital copy of The Dark Knight and when I log on to my girlfriends user and open iTunes, the video is not there. When I log back into my user and connect her iPhone to iTunes, I am not allowed to drop in the movie. That is where I am at. I need to be able to add my stuff to her iPhone and her stuff to my iPhone without syncing and losing all info.

Itunes match has removed my playlists from itunes and my iphone. Not only that, many of the songs 'matched' on itunes do not show up on my iphone. Seriously annoyed, wish I'd never paid for it

iTunes Match does not have the ability to remove local files.
The service operates by comparing the selected iTunes Library with the iTunes Store content and 'matching' or 'uploading' - it is very straightforward a 'match' provides equivalent access to iTunes Store content as a recognised 'purchase'; upload simply copies a 256k AAC variant into the cloud. There are no elements of this activity that can erase the local library content.
Would suggest you explore possible alternative causes of file loss. Given the pattern described of selective deletion, leaving many Songs intact - would suggest making at least 2 secure offline Song file backups and starting the library again from a fresh install of iTunes once a thorough sweep of the system has been completed for virus. It is also worth assessing the physical security of the system - who has access & with what privileges.
To access Songs from the cloud, you would have to manually delete the Song from the library or open an empty library - so even when accessing content, iTunes Match provides no local deletion capability.

Loops not stretching to match tempo

I moved my loops to an external drive and then remapped them but now when I drag one into my arrange window it will not match the tempo. I also can't stretch it manually. I'm sure I did this before and I'm having trouble finding information about it both in the manual and online. How do I do this?

aha, thanks! I notice though that it does not always snap to the grid even though the time does change. Is there a way to do this manually?

Open Item and Line Items are not matching

Hi Gurus,
I ran the EFT for vendor #1600109 for payment on 10/18/07. If I run the vendor open items report (ZFI019) for today, it shows the balance net of the EFT that is $203,466 ( $263869 - EFT Value is $60,403).
When I ran the vendor line items display (FBL1N), it shows all the invoices including the invoices paid on the Oct 18 EFT $263,869 which is (2034,66+60,403).
User wants the open item report should tally the line item display.
I will assign good points.

Hi Gurus,
EFT is working fine. But the Vendor Open item Report (Custom Report) and Vendor line item report (FBL1N) is different.
We are looking a balance for a vendor as on 15th where the balances are not matching between the reports but if i run FBL1N on 18th the balances are matching.
Clearning date is 18th
Posting Date is 15th.

I own Acrobat XI Pro. I installed it on my new machine, but cannot start it because Acrobat says that the serial number I have doesn't match the software. What should I do next? Can' find any FAQ's on this.

I deactivated Pro on my old machine, downloaded from the store on my new machine and tried to open it. A window popped up that said I had a valid product key, but that it didn't match the software on my machine. The drop down box did not list my product. Don't know what to do next.

I am trying to activate root account on my MAC. The directions I've seen do not match what is in System Preference for Accounts or Users

I am trying to activate the root account on my new Mac Book Pro. The instructions that I have found do not match what I have in System Preferences. What is the process when using Users and Groups. When I click on Join the Network Account Server- Open Directory Utility I don't see a option to activate root user as the instructions say at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1528

From the Apple menu choose System Preferences....
From the View menu choose Users & Groups.
Click the lock and authenticate as an administrator account.
Click Login Options....
Click the "Edit..." or "Join..." button at the bottom right.
Click the "Open Directory Utility..." button.
Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.
Choose Enable Root User from the Edit menu.
Enter the root password you wish to use in both the Password and Verify fields, then click OK.

Do you mean you cannot select "Enable Root User" from the "Edit" menu as shown below?
Why do you think you need to enable the root user? I've never needed it in the history of OS X.

Itunes match how do you to select multiple songs or do you click each one

In ITunes match how do you to select multiple songs to download to pc or do you have to click each one.

First make sure you have the current version of iTunes, which is actually 10.5.1. I had to manually download it from apples website, for some reason, it wouldnt auto-update.

Once that is complete, go to the iTunes store. In the Quick Links secion to the right, you should see iTunes Match. This will prompt you to activate your subscription to iTunes match. After that it should ask you to add your computer and once youve done that, it should begin the process of scanning your library and adding it to the cloud
Alternatively, once you activate your subscription, you can also go to the Store dropdown menu in iTunes and select Turn On iTunes Match.

How to handle iTunes Match with multiple libraries (one account, 5 family members)?

How would this work, in the situation below ...
Everyone has their own iCloud account (for their own syncing purposes).
But we (family) ALL share the same iTunes account (for purchasing).
How will this work, since we all have our own iTunes libraries?

One person sets up Match on their computer using the iTunes account. Uploads everything to match.
I would recommend waiting until that person is done, and do computers one at a time. No particular reason, just seems sensible.
Next person sets up match using same iTunes account details. Uploads their stuff. They will then see everything the previous user put into the system, unless you select "Hide music not on this computer" in the view menu. Previous user will now see their stuff too.
Rinse and repeat.
This is how it worked with my multiple machines anyway... As long as every computer uses the same iTunes account for the store, you all get access to the same Match account.

How do you move an iphone from one mac to a new mac when both are using Itunes Match

I have an Imac (Mountain Lion) with two users sharing an Itunes account (Ver 11). We each have iphones syncing to the computer (and to icloud separatly). I have just activated Itunes match on the IMac and on both phones. I just bought a new MacBookPro and have activated Itunes match on it so I am sharing Itunes. Now, I want to move one of the iphones to the new MacBook and have it backing up to that computer instead of the Imac. How should I proceed with synching the phone with the new computer? How about the photos on the iphone? Will they just load into the iphoto library on my new MacBook Pro.
Also, can I still synch the phones manually and move over playlist from Itunes to the phone? I am assuming that when you turn off itunes match on the phone those playlists will be active. I want to make sure that say, when I am on a plane or have no wifi or cell, that I can still use the phone as an Ipod. With Itunes match you are streaming and always need a signal. There has to be a way to retain the simple music player functionality, right?
