Matching Notes formatting between iPhone and desktop

Ever since I switched from Marker Felt to Helvetica as the Notes font on my phone, I've had trouble getting the text to display in a consistent manner between the phone and my desktop after notes are synced (via iCloud). For example if I make a note on the phone, the type lines up cleanly on the lines. But if I make any changes, type sizes change and are inconsistent within the note itself, and type no longer diplays anchored to aline, but rather sort of floats above or below. I've tried every Helvetica font size in Mail's preferences for Notes, but nothing works right. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you...
FH

Yes that is what I observed.
There have been other strange things going on with Mail on both the iPhone and the iMac so I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was one of them, but still I thought I might get a hint on this problem.

OK so just how connected are iPhones and desktop Macs now? I ask because I just deleted mail from my iPhone and it [seemed] as if the same mail was deleted from my iMac. And this was not mail using my iCloud addy.

  • Documents not syncing between iPhone and iPad

I am encountering the most strange difficulty with iCloud, particularly Documents in the Cloud and the syncing of Numbers and Pages documents between iPad and iPhone. I do not use Keynote.
I will try and describe the problem in as much detail as possible and explain everything I have tried to do.
My goal is for documents I create on iPad to sync to iPhone, and vice versa, with changes appearing on both, and on iCloud.com. To clarify I'm not involving the Mac in anyway, I am aware this is a current limitation of Documents in the Cloud. Unless I'm missing something, what I want to do is what is advertised.
    - I am running the latest version of iOS on both iPad and iPhone.
    - I have the latest versions of Keynote and Pages on both.
    - I am logged in to iCloud on both iPad and iPhone with the same account
    - iCloud is working fine for all other purposes (Bookmark sync, PhotoStream etc)
    - Documents and Data is switched on, as is the option for Using Cellular Data
    - Use iCloud is set to ON under Pages and Keynote preferences
    - The arrow indicating a cloud document is on every document on both iPad and iPhone's icon, in the top right of each icon
    - In iCloud -> Storage & Backup -> Manage Storage -> Documents & Data -> Numbers it displays all the expected documents.
The current behaviour appears to be that I create a document on either device, and the document is PARTIALLY uploaded to iCloud. That is, it appears on iCloud.com under iWork, but when I click on any file it either says "Upload failed" or "Waiting" for each file.
If I try and delete a document on iWork.com, it crashes the web app and does not delete the documents.
Things I have tried to resolve:
    - Uninstalling and reinstalling Numbers and Pages on both devices
    - Soft resetting both devices
    - Disabling and re enabling Documents in the Cloud on both devices
    - Disabling and re enabling iCloud toggle in the individual app preferences on both devices
    - Deleting and readding iCloud account on both devices
    - A full restore then restoring from iCloud backup on both devices (yes, I actually did that)
    - A combination of the above in various sequence orders, none of which made any difference
More information... one solution on the web pointed to the problem involving a duplicate account which could be deleted from the Mail settings, however I only have one configured account - my iCloud account. Just in case it matters, my iCloud email is an @mac.com address.
I think I have covered everything. Any help would be appreciated since Apple themselves seemed pretty stumped on the phone, suggesting another restore, or setting the phone and iPad up as brand new devices. I'd really rather not until I've exhausted every possible outcome.
    Any help massively appreciated!!!

How did you get this fixed? I have the same issue!!

  • My calendar is not syncing between iphone and Mac air on iCloud.

    Hi
The calendar entries I am adding either on my iphone or mac air via icloud are not syncying between the devices. Is anyone else having this problem currently? If yes, how can it be resolved. I have deleted the account and added it back in but to no avail.
    Thanks

Are all the devices set to actually sync calendar entries to iCloud?  If any of them are set to sync with some other service (gMail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) while some of them are set to use iCloud then they can not sync.  Or if they are set to iCloud but only set to sync say contact and bookmarks then they will not sync.  They all have to be set to iCloud and they all have to have the calendar option selected.

  • Notes not syncing between iPhone and iMac

Syncing notes from my iphone to imac no longer works. I have all the right things checked in info (in itunes) and in my mail. I have talked to the experts at Apple support, and taken the iphone and imac into the apple store.  After trying lost of stuff (iSync, other settings, etc, new admin a account), it worked. Once. It worked at the store, but no longer works at home. I can get the notes to sync if I sign out of my admin account and sign back in, but I don't like doing that every time. I don't know why it worked just fine for awhile and then quit. Maybe after the last update.  Is it something to do with my POP account - comcast?  Does anyone have the same problem? An answer?

I have a MacBook (OS X 10.9.3) an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.1) and an IMAP account (mail and notes boxes are checked on MacBook). On my iPhone the default account for Notes is set on IMAP. I am syncing via iTunes 11.2.1. It works for Calendar and Contacts but it does not sync Notes. I guess a made an error somewhere.
Could someone  hep me? Thank you by advance.

  • Texts(iMessages) not syncing between iPhone and iPad. How can it be fixed?

After installing IOS .7.2 update for version 7.0
    My texts no longer sync.
    Happens to sent  and received.
I have texts on iPad thatt didn't arrive on my iPhone and vise versa.
    Internet all good on both.
My texts usually come in at the same time to iPhone and iPad,  or a few seconds apart, if that
They aren't updating. I get some, but not all. I'm carrying on two different convos on my phone or iPad with the same person, not realizing I've missed some of their texts.
Besides the rests and restarts if which I've done to both, any suggestions on how I can fix this?
    Thanks

  • Trying to create a hostname network between iphone and desktop

I am trying to make a remote connection to my desktop from my iphone in order to use iControlBits App and Transmission on my desktop.
I have a hostname which I created with dyn.com and the Mac OS X client installed on my Mac and it has a green light.
I enabled NAT port forwarding on my Airport Extreme.
I have a Motorola SurfBoard Cable Modem that has a dyn.com setting, I turned that on.
I have read that this function on the SurfBoard does not work, also I am not sure if I still have to do any port forwarding on the modem/router.
I love any thoughts on where to start troubleshooting?
    Thanks,
    Henry

This is a possibility. But please be aware using your Mac to emit a WiFi connection is a temporary solution. And it will get a short range unlike an actual WiFi Router. Also you may find it to be unstable at times. The Airport Card in your Mac was not designed to be a full time Router WiFi emitter. But more of a receiver to get the signal and use it for personal use.
    1. Unlock the network on your Mac make it an open network
    2. Go to your iPhone, Settings-Wireless-Tap on blue circle next to network name, Choose Forget network
    3. Now go back, It will rescan and find an open network, Connect, and see if Safari works
If Safari works, Then you had a Security issue. Try using WEP 128 bit 13 character passkey or WEP 8 Character Passkey.
    Cheers and best of luck

  • IMessage not syncing between iPhone and iPad

    Someone please help!!
I recently got an iPad and have managed to set everything up but am having a problem with my iMessage. I am able to send and receive iMessages on both my iPad and iPhone but when this happens, it does not show up in the other device. So for example, I receive an iMessage on my phone but it will not display on my iPad.
When I try to add an email address through iMessage>send and receive>add email, it is telling me my password is incorrect. I have tried changing my password and using a different email address but it won't work. Everything is set up fine on my iPad (I think!) but my iPhone is the problem.
    Any suggestions??
    Happy new year!

I'm not sure about that. I think the caller ID just identifies where the message originates. I think this syncing problem is actually in the system and related to rolling out a new service.  Frankly, I have not been able to get consistent results.
For example, last night I was sending iMessages to my iPhone to my wife's iPhone.  Both phones have caller ID set to phone number and the messages were sent to her phone number, not her Apple ID. The conversation thread show up on my iPad but not her iPad.  If I did the reverse, that is sent the message from her iPhone to mine, I still got the tread on my iPad but not her iPad. Conversations originating either iPad to either Apple ID synced just fine on all devices.
That said, this morning, I tried the exact same thing - sending a message to her phone number from mine -- and this time my iPad did not sync as it did last night and her remained unresponsive.
My conclusion: the service is behaving erratically and the only way to ensure a fully synced thread for now is make sure the conversation originates with a message to an Apple ID and not a phone number.

  • TS3989 iCloud photo stream not working between iPhone and iPad

The photo stream from my iPhone is not streaming via iCloud to my iPad photos. Both have the correct settings:  iCloud enabled and turned on, and within iPloud setting both have photo stream turned on.  I have purchased additional iCloud space and that's certainly not the problem.
    IPhone 4S: IOS 6.1.3
    IPad: IOS 5.1
    I would appreciate any help.

Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity

  • Notes not Syncing between iPhone and iPad

Alright, I know there are tons of topic on this issue, but it's obviously still an issue and has yet to be fixed.
YES- Both devices have iCloud enabled and Notes enebaled under the iCloud settings.
YES- Both devices are using the same iCloud account.
YES- The notes were syncing properly for a few days before they stopped, without expanation or reason.
I've tried restarting both devices, no go. Both devices are right in front of me, on the same network even (although that shouldn't make a difference if it's working as intended). So, what's the issue? Like I said, it was working fine before suddenly stopping.
    Rant:
Apple "prides" itself on being so user-friendly, but that's the opposite from the experiences I've had (signle example: one button does NOT make things simpler). All I can say is I'm glad I've avoided buying Apple products all these years (sans an iPod). All I have to do now is convince my job to stop buying Apple and switch to Android, which shouldn't be hard given the state of things.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
i appreciate you may have tried some of these, but....
First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone'  or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.

  • Calendars and Contacts not syncing between iPhone and Mac

    Hello.
    I am using a MacPro4,1 (early 2009) running OS X 10.9.1, and an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.0.4.
In iPhone, Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Calendars Settings are set to: Sync – All Events.
In iTunes, Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi is checked.
Calendar and Contacts aren't syncing, in neither direction, neither over Wi-Fi nor by cable. (I haven't, and won't try iCloud or however that thing is called now.)
No idea why. I'd be thankful for any hint.

so there's nothing but iCloud to do this? Is there a workaround? Or do I have to use either other a different set of applications, or another set of operating system and hardware? Not syncing is no option, iCloud isn't either, changing systems is.

  • HT1199 I have a desktop mac operating on Mac OSx 10.4.11 and the system does not recognize my iphone and I am unable to upgrade to the newest itunes version. What do I need to do?

I have a desktop mac operating on Mac OSx 10.4.11 and the system does not recognize my iphone and I am unable to upgrade to the newest itunes version. What do I need to do?

    Backup first
It is always best to have a full bootable backup before you upgrade. If you fail to do this you will be unable to return to this OS if you decide you don't like the new OS. Also there is a slight chance that an install could lose everything on the Mac. The backup must be to an external hard disk. Preferably use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable backup of the whole disk.
    Erase before the install
Once you have a bootable backup on an external disk it is best to erase the internal disk with the new installer DVD before you install.
    During the install
Preferably do not import any data or preferences from earlier OSs during the install process as this can reintroduce bugs.
    OS numbers and names
    OS X 10.4.x - Tiger
    OS X 10.5.x - Leopard
    OS X 10.6.x - Snow Leopard
    OS X 10.7.x - Lion
    OS X 10.8.x - Mountain Lion

The Apple History site has specifications for every Mac ever produced: http://www.apple-history.com/
    Upgrade to Leopard
Those wishing to upgrade to Leopard should be aware that install disks can be expensive unless you contact Apple. Details: http://lowendmac.com/deals/best-os-x-leopard-prices.html Standard Leopard installers impose several hardware limitations including speed and RAM size but all these restrictions can be overcome. Google for details. Leopard works well at 500 MHz with 1 GB of RAM and many happy users have less than this.
    Upgrade beyond Leopard
OSs beyond OS X 10.5.8 require an Intel processor. If in doubt check this: Click the apple at the top left of your screen and select 'About this Mac'. This will give you your OS number. Then click 'More Info' to see which processor you have. If it says PowerPC you cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard and above. If you have an Intel Mac it is well worth upgrading to Snow Leopard now and then considering other options after that. You can buy Snow Leopard here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
    Upgrade beyond Snow Leopard
Information about upgrading Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A
    Important
Check that your Mac complies with any requirements. If you are not in the US you should use the Change Country link at the bottom of Apple pages.
