Matching tags in Organizer 9

Hi,
I can not get Organizer 9 to show only the matching photos when clicking on a name tag. When I apply a tag to a specific photo within a group of photos stored in the same file, or when I attach different tags to a set of photos, Organizer shows all the matches which I dont care to see...
Can not find anything in Edit/Prefereces and Options (close to Show all) that would correct the problem... in Preferences can not find the instruction  «Show closely matching set for searches»
I have the French version of Adobe Organizer.
Thank you and Merry Christmass

Hi,
When you apply tags to an image, you may see icons underneath the thumbnail like this
If there are only a few tags, then it will be like under the yellow arrow - if there are many tags then it will look like under the green arrow. If you hover the mouse over the icon, it will show you the tags.
If you don't see any information underneath the images, ensure that Details is checked in the View menu. If you still can't see the information then try moving the zoom slider (bottom right) to the right to increase the size of the thumbnails.

  • Highlight matching tags, braces, etc in CS5

    The most important feature to me while editing any kind of website code is the ability to quickly see matching tags, names, braces, etc. If I'm not mistaken in Dreamweaver CS4 when you highlighted any "word" in code view, whether it was an html tag or value, css class, javascript variable, etc it would instantly highlight all the instances of the same word throughout the document.
    Does CS5 not have this ability? Can you not get it to highlight matching opening { and closing } braces either?
    The ability to quickly see usage of certain code in this way without going through the extra step(s) to perform a search is so vital to me. How do you handle situations like these where you want to see everywhere that a code is used or to see which braces line up to each other? As in, is there a tool or view preferences that help with this?
    Thanks

    No, Dreamweaver has never done that. CS4 or any other version.

    DW does not highlight tags but it does offer tools such as balance braces, select parent tag and others in the Coding Toolbar.

  • How do you change Matching Tag Highlights color?

    I just updated my Dreamwever CC.
    I have my code coloring set to be dark. I don't like too much white as the background when I'm coding...
    with the new update, I spotted the new change right away, it's great, I like the idea of highlighting matching tags, but I want to change the color to match my color theme and so I can read my codes. this is what I have...
    would someone know how to change the color? thank you.

    You can change the color of the tag highlight by
    Go to DW preferences
    Choose Code Coloring
    In the bottom you will see tag highlighting enabled with a check mark
    Change the color by using the color well below that Tag highlighting preference

    You need to spend some time with Help> Getting Started. You can create many categories and sub-categories in your tags, the Organizer fixes you refer to are still there - click Instant Fix at bottom right, and if you convert your existing catalog then all those existing tags will come across with them (although People, Places & Events are handled differently from 8 & 9. And you don't have to store anything in the cloud if you don't want to.

  • Unable to add Keyword Tags in Organizer PSE 9

    I am beyond frustrated at this point.  I have never run across a more buggy program than PSE9 (or 8 for that matter).  I am particularly having trouble with the organizer in PSE 9.  I have spent that last day or so tagging a catalogue of about 2000 photos when suddenly the organizer froze up.  I killed it and restarted.  Then it wouldn't even load.  So I thought to load another catalogue to see if that worked.  It loaded up just fine.  I switched to the catalogue I had had the problem with and PSE pretty much shut my computer down at that point.  So, I restarted the computer, loaded up the organizer and actually got it to open the catalogue.  I ran a repair on it.  It said that it had fixed some errors.  Great, I thought, everything is fine.  Well, no, it wasn't.  Now whenever I attempt to add a keyword tag, delete a keyword tag, or even add a caption, the organizer just gives me an error.  It is only happening on this particular catalogue.  I have repaired it, optimized it, and even regenerated the thumbnails.  I always get an error when I try to edit anything.  I can view the pictures just fine.  I can open them up from the organizer into the editor just fine.  I just can't delete, add captions or keyword tags at this point.  If I have lost the all the work I did last night and today tagging these photos, then I am going to be mighty mad.  If anyone has any suggestions, then please let me know.  I don't want to think that I have wasted time, and most of all, money on this program.  Thanks.

  • 'Tags' in Organizer

    I'm running Organizer. When I've selected and assigned a group of pictures to a category, should a 'tab' sybol remain on the picture in 'Media' so we know that the photo's been catalogued?

  • How can you see matching tags in code view?

    I'm trying to figure out how to do a very basic, common function in DW CS5.5 that's pretty much in every other IDE I've seen.
    In NetBeans, for instnace, when you load a program, then click on a DIV tag, the program automatically highlights the end /DIV tag later in the code. This is extremely helpful when trying to find  the extent of a section, especially in complex sites where nesting of DIVs is common.  The function works the opposite way also, where you can highlight the end tag and the system will find the beginning one.
    I can use the Coding Toolbar to collapse that section, expand it, and other things, but nowhere do I see a function that will just highlight the beginning and ending tags.
    Is this possible in DW? If so, how can I set it up to do that?
    Thanks.

    That’s a limitation. No way around it.

  • Software to tag and organize a growing raw footage library

    Hi all: I am working on some projects and my group has an increasing amount of raw video footage. Are there software solutions that let me tag and catalogue my raw footage and also historical content that has been made digital? What is the best? I have a large amount of space on network drives available. Would it be better to have a large local FW or SATA drive? What solution would be best for a windows user to also be able to access the files over that network drive?
    THanks for the info!

  • PSE 9 (Mac) Organizer - Category Tag shows no pictures

    I have tagged all my photos and have my heirarchy set.  If I click on an upper level tag, the organizer automatically "clicks" all the subordinate tags, and shows me all the pictures for those tags.
    However, if I click a category tag, The organizer automatically "clicks" the subordinate tags as above, but tells me there are no matching photographs.
    Shouldn't I see all the photos in that category?

    Thanks,
    I am in Thumbnail view, and I checked all of the items in the link you provided.  I looked closer, and found that it is only the People category that has problems.  I moved some of the sub-categories to another temp holding category, and found that the problem disappeared when some combinations of sub-categories were moved.  But when all of the subcategories were moved to the new holding category, then the new one failed as well.  So there must be something about the specific set of circumstances in my library that is causing this to occur.  I think I'll just forget it for now and see if the problem still exists in the next release.

  • "Elements Organizer" automatic tag

    When I use the Share to Flickr feature in the Organiser portion of PSE9, it automatically enters the tag "Elements Organizer" in the tags area.  Is there a way to turn this off?  Not that much of a big deal, but it would be nice to not have to delete it all the time.

    Hi denny
    open Organzier preferences or command K on macs
    click on media analysis
    turn off auto analyser function.
    restart program

  • Is there a logic:match equivalent for JSTL?

    In a search page I execute a query which returns an array of objects (All objects are of the same object type and are cast to Object[]) and each object has many attributes. I tried using <logic:iterate>, but I was never successful in having it display any results. I believe this had something to do with the entire array being passed via session scope instead of just one record and me not specifying it properly with <logic:iterate>. I was able to successfully use <c:forEach> and it worked right away. I stuck with using that because of its "just works" ability in addition to using a lot of other JSTL code. However, one of the attributes that is being printed out needs to be parsed and is of the form "Yxxx". <logic:match> covers this very nicely, but when I specify it in the below code it is not able to find my variable in any scope.
    <c:forEach var="myResults" items="${sessionScope.result}" varStatus="status">
        <logic:match parameter='${myResults}' property='pin' value='Y'>
            <c:out value="Preeti"/>
        </logic:match>
    </c:forEach>I have done several google searches, but I haven't found a JSTL equivalent for <logic:match>. If there is one could someone please tell me what it is? In addition, although <logic:match> is great I still need to print out a substring of that attribute. Could someone tell me how to do that? If this is not possible could someone please tell me if its possible to use <logic:iterate> with an array of objects like I was attempting to do initially so that I could use <logic:match> at least?
    Thanks to all of you for your time.

    Yes you can use the logic:iterate tag. I think you have to specify the type of the exposed variable though. I prefer the forEach loop.
    I think you are using the wrong attribute in the logic:match tag. You should be using the "name" attribute rather than "parameter"
    Parameter attribute refers you to a request parameter, and I pretty sure you don't want that.
    So given the collection of objects in the session attribute "result"
    This should loop through them all, and see if they start with the letter 'Y'
    <c:forEach var="myResults" items="${sessionScope.result}" varStatus="status">
        <logic:match name='myResults' property='pin' value='Y'>
            <c:out value="Preeti"/>
        </logic:match>
    </c:forEach>As for the latter bit, are you using a JSP2 container and JSTL1.1? It would appear so seeing as you are trying to use EL expressions in the logic:match tag.
    If so, you could make use of the JSTL function library:
    <c:forEach var="myResults" items="${sessionScope.result}" varStatus="status">
       <c:if test='${fn:startsWith(myResults.pin, "Y")}'>
          <c:out value="${fn:substring(myResults.pin, 1, -1)}"/>
        </c:if>
    </c:forEach>And I've just spotted a very cool function in there: substringAfter
    <c:forEach var="myResults" items="${sessionScope.result}" varStatus="status">
          <c:out value='${fn:substringAfter(myResults.pin, 'Y')}'/>
    </c:forEach>Cheers,

  • Changing ID3 tags and replacing tra

    I'm playing with my new Xtra and enjoying it. I will want to jigger many of the tags to organize the genres and artists better.
    ) The software stored the albums (as I requested) under Artist/Album. If I shift an album under a different artist name, I assume it will not automatically change the tags for the artist. (For instance, I have a few "Elvis Costello" and a few "Elvis Costello and the Imposters"... I want them all under the same artist name).
    2) Can I change the basic tags (Artist, Album, Genre and even Track #) using Create MediaSource Organizer, or should I download a decent/free ID3 tag program recommended on various guru FAQs?
    3) Here's my real question: Once I alter the tag on a track I've already loaded onto the player, I will want to replace it with the updated tags. If I re-transfer, will it overlay the tracks with the updated ones -- or will it create duplicates? Do I need to delete the album or tracks from my player before sending them back over?
    Thanks
    Michael

    zmulls wrote:I figured the PC was easier to change tags. Just for the typing (!)
    Well you can only edit tags using the PC. I meant with respect to which data source you use, the player itself (when connected to the PC) or the files on the PC's hard dri've.
    The "move" would be just taking a subfolder ("album") and moving under a different "artist" folder -- in Explorer. I figured also that I'd still have to change the tags (the ripping program reads the tags and creates the directories, but I assumed the intelligence doesn't go another way).
    Ah right. Yes, you have to change the tags themselves. It doesn't automatically realise the folder has changed, although you can get many programs which will use folder and filename data to generate the tag.
    So I should grab a tagging program, and plan to "Delete From Player" and "Re-Transfer From PC." Not as bad as it sounds, as I can delete whole albums at once from the Player.
    It's certainly the method I use. It really depends on what approach suits you.
    I saw the list of tag programs on your FAQ -- are the "free" ones good enough? Is there a real advantage in the shareware or paid programs (other than the one you cite on Nomadsync).
    I've never bought a tag editing program, and have used 2 or 3. I prefer overall though, but some don't like the UI. Best to check some out.
    Nomadsync is listed in the programs to copy files. Remember that Nomadsync is not a tag editor, it's a program for copying files.

  • Any tips for organizational best practices?

    Hello Community,
    I'm an amateur CC user, digital art dllettante and Adobe fangirl, who is trying to delve deeper into the software and learn to work at a more professional level ( or at least some facsimile thereof).
    Like lots (I hope) of amateurs,  I have a scattered collection of digital image files haphazardly organized, and have grown tired of scrolling through Aperture  when I want to find some inadequately-labeled image added at some forgotten date.
    The vast usefulness of Bridge is obvious.  There is so much that can be done  -- when one knows how -- that I'm  overwhelmed and intimidated by it.
    There are likely some optimal ways of using it that are obvious to the pros, but that an amateur might not realize the value of.  I knos this myriad of options is here because professionals find them  useful for specific reasons,  but I'm too ignorant to realize the why's and wherefore's.
    I'd like to find some resources that address the optimal ways of organizing with Bridge, so I don't spend hours assigning keywords and creating galleries and collections that will turn out to be completely bassackwards.
    Does anyone know of any books, tutorials, etc that cover How to (Effectively) use Bridge?  Not as in, "here's how to find the menu that will allow you to do x,y,z"  but as in,  "Here's why it's a good idea to do x,y,z rather than a, b, c"?
    Thanks for any advice!

    You might want to look into the books and videos by Peter Krogh, a recognized expert in organizing digital photos (DAM or Digital Asset Management for photographers). Most of the materials out there have to do with Lightroom, but you should be able to recognize enough of the features that also appear in Bridge and Aperture. The basic principles of photo tagging and organization are the same no matter what software you use to do it. Since you mentioned Aperture, you should also look into its organizational features because chances are it can do a lot of it as well or better than Bridge.
