Material availability - Storage locations

Hi gurus,
I have 2 storage locations, but I want just one to be taken into account while checking availability. Is it possible?

Hi All ,
I wanted to delete a material from a storage location .Can any one suggest me to delete material from storage location other than blocking material for storage location using MM06 .I suppose that it can not done by using MMSC.

Dear,
If you created an material by error and you want to delete that material from the data base you can do it in this simple 4 steps. The only condition is that this material has to have no material movement recorded.
These are the steps:1
1) Flag material for deletion. transaction MM06
2) Run report MMREO001 - Selection of materials flagged for deletion and select the material
3) Run report MMREO050 Archive Materials to archive the material (some customisig settings might be required)
4) Run report MMREO110 Deletion Program for Archiving Materials to delete the material from the database.
These reports are called by the SARA transaction too.

Non storaged material in Storage Location after mov 653

I have a non storage material.
when the return delivery picking was done SAP let to put a storage location. for this Delivery item category wit has not flagged "Do Not Check Storage Location". So it has to be checked. Its also true that we have Storage location is absolutely necessary, so without storage locatin we cant deliver, but we should have an error message and not let us deliver using a storage location when its a not storaged material.
And the problem is that when you have the material in the storage location you cant do nothing because the material has no storage data.

For the Return delivery , delivery item category is not flagged with the feild "Do Not Check Storage Location " . It is not checked because a Returns order are mostly created wrf to sales order / billing document/delivery document. So once you copy the data to the returns order and when you do Post Goods Receipt then at that time there is no need to copy the sloc.
But ,if the material doesn't have storage data then we cant retrieve how much stock is available in storage locations. So we have to run the report to know how much stock is available in the storage location

Go to MM01 trxn enter Material Number and press enter and in the next screen select the plant/storage view
here maintain the plant & storage location
press Enter
you will see the Plant/Storage Screen
enter the details and SAVE
You can also use MMSC trxn code for the Same

How to extend material in storage location automatically???

Dear Gurus,
We have 9 plants in this company.
Every time we create a material we have to extend it in all plants.
Because it takes to long to do this one by one with MM01 we use mm17 and we created there a variant that extends the materials in all plants automatically.
Then we have 3 storage locations for each plant. we use MMSC: enter storage locations collectively, to extend each the material in all the storage locations of the company 9x3 = 27. This takes too long as a procedure.
Is there a way to automate this procedure, via rutines, codes, variants, ABAP etc??? and how should I do that??

In customization spro>>MM>>inventory management>>Plant parameters>>select your plant >>click on create storage location automatically
click that one, if your not extended the material to the particular storage location and doing the goods receipt to the particular storage location system will allow you to do that

Transfer material from Storage location to Storage type.

Hello,
At the time of usage decision we are posting the stock in "To Reserve stock" for that we have created seperate storage location ie for Sample material.
we having two samples one is customer sample and other is in house sample both the samples we are posting in same storage location.
Client want to differentiate these two samples, so we have created two storage types.
Now My question is " can we transfer the samples in different storage types from Storage location.
This is the QM and WM integration.
Please advice

I don't think you can transfer from storage location to storage type.
If your purpose is to differentiate these two samples, then why not use different Sample types with different number ranges and thus identify them. You don't have to get into QM-WM integration just for that.
If you want you may also set up 2 different physical sample locations: That would be ideal.

Archiving material master - storage location

Hi experts,
I am in process of archiving storage locations of few material codes which are split valuated.
Actually material/s are extended to 3-4 storage location and one storage location has to be removed from the same.
i am using transaction code SARA with archiving object MM_MATNR and getting following error -
plant/storage location dependent batch records exist.
please suggest how to correct the error
relevant solution will suitably be rewarded please.

I had not spoken about the tick for delete in test mode in the selection screen.
I spoke about the variants for test and production run in customizing to your archiving object.
If the variant that is saved for production run, has the tick for test run, then it just will not work.
Further you should select X Complete for Detail log and list for P_PROT_O,
This way you should get spool file that tells you more about errors or succesfull archived items.
What did you do with the box in from of "Consider batch record without deletion flag" ?
If empty, are you sure you have manually set the deletion indicator in MSC2N?
What about the other boxes in this options section?

Subcontracted material in storage location

Dear gurus,
I did a 101 movement in MIGO and the system did a 543 for the components to relieve the material from vendor but I can't see the material at our storage location.

Hi Syed,
Subcontracting PO concept itself is this -
You will provide some components to vendor (using 541 mvt type before hand)
Vendor completes manufacture of the finished product for you. This FG you will enter as item to be procured from the vendor in the pO with item category L
The bom maintained in CS03 provides components list to be sent to vendor (you may find within the PO at the item -->Material Data tab...click the higherarchy icon on the right side within this tab.
Now, when you receive finished product from your subcon vendor, it posts with 101 for FG and components are consumed automatically with 543. Hope, it is clear now...

Material in Storage Location.

Hi everybody, how can I do to know if a material was created for a Storage Location? Because I was checking on MARD table but I found a storage location that not has an entry in the table for a material, but I tried to do a good receipt without referenfe to this Sloc for this material and the system allows me to do that, and them an entry for this combination was inserted on table MARD. Do you know how can I check if a material was created for a Storage Location? Regards.

In SAP storage locations can be created automatically for plant which is done by the configuration. Thats the reason even if you dont have entry in MARD table against the material it allows you do a goods movement for a material with the new location.

Opening Stock Comapny - Plant - Material - Batch - Storage location Wise

Dear Friends,
I want to do the following report. I will explain the details to you. Pleaes suggest on how to go about it.
1. Since you know that SAP stores stock in a summary form (Plant / Material wise). Our management wants the report on the following hierarchy. (Company - Plant - Material - Batch - Storage). Our management has suggested the following:
a. Create a ZTABLE with the above columns including Quantity (which will contain closing stock quantity).
b. In this calculate and store Closing stock for each month.
c. an insert / update program has to be created for uploading data in the ZTABLE (selection will contain date).
for ex:
When running the program for 31st March 2008. system will take the closing stock stored in the ZTABLE for previous months + March Receipt - March issues. the result will be the closing stock for March 2008.
d. Then a report will be prepared using the ZTABLE and other calculated fields.
Can anyone give me the guideline as to how to go about it. Tables to be used and logic to be followed? Or if any other way the result can be achieved then nothing like it.
The Managements final goal is to have any given date closing stock in the above hierarchy (minimizing the Performance issue... that is why the suggestion of ZTABLE)...

Hi,
Suppose there A and B two starage locations are there. One user called X he can access and posting the material only B. We have to restict him/her storage locacation B so that he/she can not post any material to B but he can only see the material of B. MB1B Tran. Code is used for posting the materials. Please guide me how to solve this problem.

Set Qualtiy for Production after GR.
When you confirm the Production or do a 101 for the order, the stock will go in to a quality Stock,
An inspection lot is created, once the result recording done and UD is done, the stock is transferred to Unrestricted or sales stock.

Can we block a material for particular storage location ?

We can allow material to storage locations by MMSC. Can we block a material for particular storage location ?

Hi,
If you want a material to be blocked, go to the Basic data 1 view of the material,there in the genral data you have " X-plant material status ". Also in Cost estimate 1 view of the material you have Plant Specific Material status. Use the options available to block the material in these two views.
Also u can goto MM06 where put material,plant,storage location.When u select enter just tick the check box of material,plant and storage location and save it.

Material transfers between plants and storage locations report

Hello experts.
I´m looking for some help.
Actually i am looking for a report that show information about material transfers between plants and storage locations. Is there any report that shows the source of the material (plant, storage location) and also shows the target (plant, storage location).

Though you may not get report for the same , but you can narrow down the check by using the table MSEG or MB51 using the moment types like 311 643 (sd delivery moments )which are for stock transfers .
or if you want storage location stock many reports are available like MMBE, or MB53 etc.

Error:storage location for material's valuation type does not exit

Hi Yan,
If no previous goods movements have been posted yet for the combination of the relevant material, plant, storage location and valuation type the physical inventory cannot be done.
The table MCHB is used for both batch managed materials and materials with split valuation. You can only create a physical inventory document for a material with   split valuation when both, a MARD and a MCHB segment are available.
When you create a valuation type in the material master, only the table MBEW is updated - an entry is not created in the table MCHB. This is needed however to perform a physical inventory for this material.
This MCHB segment is created when you perform a goods receipt for the material, but (like with batches) a physical inventory posting cannot   create this entry in the table.
You will need to create a material posting for these materials if you wish to create a physical inventory for them. On the other hand, please,    consider that it is not necessary to create a physical inventory for those materials which have not suffered any goods movement at all.
If you want to make a physical inventory for a material valuated separately, you have to proceed as follows:
- make a goods receipt (561)==> then the stock segment will be created
- make the reversal of the goods receipt
- make the inventory.

Availability Check - Storage Location

Hi,
Is it possible to exclude a Storage location from Sales Order availability check? If yes, where do we maintain the SLoc exclusion?
e.g. Sloc 01 - FG Staging Area, Sloc 02 - FG Central whse...
We want that availability check should not look at Sloc 01 quantity ...

There are 4 ways of achieving this
1. You can exclude the storage locations trough S Loc MRP settings. check the MRP4 view of your material master > MARD-DISKZ controls how the S Loc is considered in relation to a material.
2. Please check the transaction OVZ9.
There will be one check box - No storage location inspection.
I think, by checking this check box, it won't check for the material at storage location level.
It will check only at the plant level.
3. spro...material management....consumption based planning....planning...define storage location MRP...
Here give plant name and enter...
Against every storage location you ll have indicators for excluding, including the stock....
4.Go to SPRO> Production>Material Requirements Planning>Planning>Define Storage Location MRP per Plant
For production storage loc put 1 -->Storage location stock excluded from MRP
By doing this it will not consider the production storage loc qty while running availability check .Go to SPRO> Production>Material Requirements Planning>Planning>Define Storage Location MRP per Plant
