Material ledger in material master

hello friends
how to remove the check from check box of material ledger in accounting view of material master it is shown in gray field. also price determination field is mandatory how to optional it.

Hi,
In the configuration the material ledger might be active in the valuation area.If it is active in the valuation area then the check box in the material master is automatically checked.
If the material ledger is active for a particular valuation area, all materials in the valuation area are valuated using the material ledger.
If you activate the material ledger for a plant, you should also activate it for all the other plants in the company code. This ensures that the accounts in Financial Accounting and Materials Management are reconciled.
You can deactivate this in SPRO-Controlling -General controlling--Multiple valuation approaches-Basic settings-Check material ledger settings.
But be careful about the controlling settings while changing this.

Hi experts!
I have activated Material Ledger and I have a question about this..
1) Before the activation, I have for example a material with the next values in the "Accounting 1" tab:
Total stock = 7 UNI
Price Control = V
Moving price = 166 USD
Standard price = 166 USD
Total value = 1.162 USD (7 UNI*166 USD)
2) And after the Material Ledger activation, In the same material appears the next values in the "Accounting 1" tab.
Total stock = 7 UNI
Price Control = V
Standar price = 166 USD
Per.Unit price = 23,71 USD
Inventory value = 166 USD
I don´t understand if my total value before activation was 1.162 USD, when I have activated ML, the new value is 166 USD.
I dont´t understand why the value for the "Per.Unit price" is 23,71USD and not is 166 USD because this is the original value before ML activation..
I think that my inventory value must be the same before Material Ledger activation, (1.162 USD)???

I have founded another material wich has the next information before the material ledger activation:
In the Accounting 1 tab:
Price control: V
Moving price: 1.265,80 USD
Total stock: 5 UNI
Standard price: 553,00 USD
Total value: 6.329,00 USD
After the material Ledger production start up, the same material has the next information in USD:
Standard price: 553,00 USD
Per.unit price: 1.265,80 USD
Price control: V
Inventory value: 6.329,00 USD
In this case the total value of the stock is the same after and before to do the activation of ML. I think that this is good..
And can,t understand the example wich I saw you before.. In that case the Total value of the stock after activation Material Ledger is not the same that before activation..
The material doesn´t have any modification in his unit of measure..
Could you tell me someting about this issue??

Material ledger activation in material master

A material has been extended in plant xxxx and due to some reason material ledger could not get activated in accouting 1 view of a material master. As of now there is no transaction has been made in plant xxxx for tis material. Pls guide how we can actaivte the material ledger in material master.
Note : Material ledger is activated at plant level because for other material it is activated.

Maintain the same through Transaction variant SHD0.

Material Master (Material Ledger- Product cost actual costing)

When I create a material in MM01 and no Standard price is set the columns "Company code currency" y "Profit valuation" are disabled.
The only column available is the one corresponding to company code currency. The field "Price unit" starts with the number of 1000 and this information is not copied to the other price unit fields unless you introduce a value in the Standar price - Company code currency field.
Does any one knows a user exit that can modify this values (Price unit - Group Currency and Price unit - Profit valuation) ?

1. It is not mondatory to activate Material ledger to create Product Cost collector.
2 It is not mondatory to create product cost collector if we actovate Material Ledger.
Material ledger Activation
1. In OMX1 activate ML and price determination 3 for production plants and 2 for sales depo plants (if need)
2 In. OMX3 assign ML type standard
3. Configure dynamic price changes : assign price release 1
4. Assign material update structure to a valuation area
5. Activate actual costing indicator and assign 2 Activity update relevant to price determination
PCC:
1.In KKF6N,enter the material,plant and select create button and select the order type as
RM01, radio button selected for production version and assign the production version here
2.Save the PCC for preliminary costing
3. PCC integrates with PP module in production version selection

Material Ledger Additional local currencies for company code

Hi Expert,
I would like to add a second local currency in the "Additional local currencies for company code" in order to have 2 currencies available for material ledger. (Material ledger is not yet activated for this company code)
The second local currency must be the group one "30". Could you please tell me wich valuation I have to choose ? 0 1 or 2.
I went on the SAP library but I didn't find something clear. I tried 1 but I have an error message...

I need some clarification to get rid of this error message and move further.
While saving the PGI I am facing the follwoing error message: "Valuation area 1000 not yet productive with material ledger----
The material ledger has been activated for the valuation area but
material data has not yet been converted in theis valuation area."

You will to check the following before activation the Val.area
1) OMX1: Check if ML is active against the plant IF NOT
2) Use tcode CKMSTART - Enter Val area - EXECUTE.

Material Ledger Unit Of Measurement different from Material Master

Dear Team,
In my client, there is a difference between unit visible in CKM3N and MM03. The base unit of measurement in MM03 is MT. Other than that, there are some other units maintained (not M3) in additional data tab in material master. In CKM3N, the visible unit is M3. M3 is not present anywhere in MM03.
Why would such unit flow in material ledger table? (CKMLPP has unit M3). Please advise.
One more observation is that when there is some price change document in Material Ledger, the proper UoM (MT) is being captured. Only in the basic price determination structure visible unit for each head is M3. Please check the attached screen shot.
Any help would be appreciated.

But unfortunately we don't have any Basis Guy separately. I was doubling up as Basis as well APO in my org . I'm pretty new to all these stuff. I searched in help.sap.com about this a lot, but couldn't find anything useful.

Material ledger tick in material master

hi
i have created material master Number ABC.
Make changes in material type and activated material ledger. Now ML tick is on all new material master being created its fine.
Question is how I can activate the ML tick on material number ABC which created before activation of material ledger.

Hi,
no, It's not a big mistake and it can be solved quickly be SAP Support.
But you can try the following workaround:
1. You can change the material type of the material to a material type managed by value and quantity (txn MMAM).
2. Afterwards, change the customizing of the material type in OMS2 (I assume you've done this already).
3. Finally, you reset the material type again in txn MMAM.
If this does not work or if too many materials are affected, there is no other way than contacting SAP Support.

Error-Material Ledger currency were changed in material master creation

Hi all,
Iam trying to create a material master record in IDES database.
When iam entering into accounting 1 tab system is throwing the following error "Material Ledger currency were changed".
Without entering necessary information in the accounting tab i cannot proceed further , so kindly suggest me what is the necessary setup that i need to do to avoid this error.

Can anyone tell me the difference if any between Material Master and Material ledger and its usage and interlink with SAP modules.

Material ledger prices for material master

Hi all
We have activated Material Ledger. I like to dowload all the three currency prices for the materials. How is it possible?
In MBEW only the company code currency is available.
Also u cannot use the exchange rate as it gives wrong data.

I have a Scheduling Agreement for a material 'A' with Vendor 'V' with diff prices with validity dates, I did the GR & when i am posting the invoice thro' miro, system is throwing error as above Material ledger is not active in valuation area C002 Why should I activate the material ledger here ? Pls suggest how can i solve this ?

For a Particular material, Material Ledger is active or not? Can be checked in Accountig view of Material Master.
Why we need Material Ledger?
A fundamental task of the material ledger is carrying inventories in multiple currencies and/or
valuations.
Material inventory values are normally carried by the SAP system in one currency. The material
ledger component enables the R/3 System to carry inventory values in two additional
currencies/valuations. Therefore, all goods movements in the material ledger are performed in up
to 3 currencies or valuations. Currency amounts are translated into foreign currencies at
historical exchange rates directly at the time of posting. Businesses such as those in highinflation
countries can therefore carry their inventories in a more stable currency (such as US
dollars). This reveals inflationary effects on inventory values.
If you use transfer prices to represent value flows in your company in different
valuation views, you must use the material ledger. This allows you to carry your
inventories in three different valuations (legal valuation, valuation for reporting
purposes, and profit center valuation).
Before activating the material ledger, make sure you know which currencies and valuations
you want to use, because you cannot go back and change the setting.
Activating the material ledger is a prerequisite for using multiple valuations.

Material ledger Tables

Dear All,
Issue: Not able to post Good receipt due to the error that material does not exit.
Background: we have activated user exit in material master for material type ZROH and assigned a internal number range to it in MMNR. this user exit will append the material group mentioned during master creation in the internal code generated by system.
example PPMM is the material group and the internal code generated by system is 122222 so when we save the material in mm01 our material code is PPMM122222.
we are trying to do GR by 501 and now the material ledger function module is truncating PPMM from the material code and its trying to post document with 1222222. which then goes into error that material does not exist.
Analysis: I have checked in the MARA/MARC the material code is PPMM1222222. but i guess in some table whcih is relevant for material ledger system has stored internal material number 1222222.
So I am looking for tables or solution for this isssue
