Material Ledger Unit Of Measurement different from Material Master

Dear Team,
In my client, there is a difference between unit visible in CKM3N and MM03. The base unit of measurement in MM03 is MT. Other than that, there are some other units maintained (not M3) in additional data tab in material master. In CKM3N, the visible unit is M3. M3 is not present anywhere in MM03.
Why would such unit flow in material ledger table? (CKMLPP has unit M3). Please advise.
One more observation is that when there is some price change document in Material Ledger, the proper UoM (MT) is being captured. Only in the basic price determination structure visible unit for each head is M3. Please check the attached screen shot.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I am getting the following error in subcontracting process when reconciling through J1IFQ.
Challan material is different from material document----Message no. 8I572
After P.O. creation and issued the materials through 541 and created a subcontract challan 57f4 and G.R has been done when reconciling through J1IFQ i am getting the above mentioned error.

Hi,
"Units of Measure" of a Material is maintained as Additional Data in MM01/02/03.
I need to read all the records under "Units of Measure" of a particular material.
Is there any Function Module or BAPI for that?

Dear All,
   When i going to reconciliation of subcontracting challan on t-code J1IFQ
*material document -MIGO Number(which was created at the time of MIGO)*
*Year-2009*
when i feel the detail like
year            challan no             Item
2009           00000001
it also show a warning message *material document MIGO Number(which was created at the time of MIGO) 2009 is allocated a challan during GR**
im getting a error message
challan material is different from material document
Pls Guide me

M also facing the same problem and getting the same error message.
"Chalan material is different from material document"
But when I checked material and challan, everything was OK.
Can anyone guide me to solve the issue.

Dear All,
Good afternoon. In my company, after version upgrade from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0, facing one peculiar issue i.e in MIGO for subcontract order : When I enter challan number for reference in pop-up, We are getting the below error
"Challan Material is Different from Material Document Message No. : 8I 572..."
Creation of preliminary activites before migo in one user login and if i try migo for the same in same login, no errors reported. but if I do the MIGO from different user login, i have noticed with above error and vice versa.
For this as a abaper, if I debug for trouble shooting from MIGO, no error noticed from any logins for the same activity.
Kindly help us.

As you mentioned, every thing has been checked and found okey.
The observation is with same authorization, User A can able to inward the sub-contracting material but User B coud'nt do so and noticed error of "Challan Material is Different from Material Document Message No. : 8I 572.."
Even thought,the input information for the both logins are same.

when i am trying to do GR with respect to challan that i have created its showing
"challan material is different from material document "
if i didn choose the option "Refer sub-con challan" and tried to post it shows dump error of
"Exception condition "T681Z_MISSING" raised.".
dont we get the values while creating sun con challan in J1IF01 ?
can you suggest where i have missed the steps.

Whenever inwarding the material against the Sub contracting , challen no to be given, but can you tell , which version you r working,
Its this problem continue for all the sub contracting & for only on login or many logins

Component material costing (Unit of Measure conversion) is not working at S

Unit of Measure conversion factor (Value) is not working for component materials at Sales order level costing, but the same conversion factor is working fine at Standard cost estimation level.
Example:
Conversion Factor for Raw materials (Procurement in Tones, Consumption in Each)
1 Ton (Rs.1000) = 10 Each (per Each u2013 Rs.100)
For Manufacturing of 1 pc FG is required 1 each Raw material
Issue: At sales Order level - Raw material costing is calculated at u201CTonu201D price u2013 Rs.1000 instead of u201CEachu201D price u2013 Rs.100.

Hi,
Pricing (unit conversion) is done different for MM and SD process.
MM has decided to use the old process which determines the values out of T006. There you have the conversion factors which are used in PO. If you create a sales order or billing document the determination will be different as the material master will be read.

Material Ledger : Cost component split different in CO PC and ML

Hello SAP People,
In ML cost component split I don't have the same split that in CK13N COPC.
History
We changed the cost component structure in OKTZ, because we wanted to split on two different cost component the cost of Copper :
-     Copper
-     Primes :Premium cost (transformation cost for producer) on copper.
In CK11N the split is OK and we can read the new cost element corresponding to premium cost.
To split the costing tool goes on the purchase info records to read condition type that are different for copper and premium.
The problem we have is that when we run Material ledger we are not able to see after a good receipt a similar split in the cost component view.
We already run MLCCS_RESET and MLCCS_Startup programs this month and created new Raw material after. But it seems the ML do not take care of this and all the actual cost (I stop to single level) are on the copper cost component and there is nothing on Premium cost component.
We just run single level on ML for current month.
Could you please help me to explain why we are not able to obtain the correct split between Copper and u201CPrimesu201D

yes, these both are independent from each other. You will have no issue when these are different.
It is very typical that you want to report different kind of information for activities as for materials.
A typical setup might be
Activity                                   Material
Asset depreciation                   Raw Material Cost
Room cost                               Energy
Labour                                     Production Cost
labour overhead                      Production Overhead
Electricity                                 Packaging
When you use the activity for the production of a material (confirmation CO15) the assignment goes normally to a single cost component in the material, above for example into production cost. This is controlled by the cost element. Only when the primary cost component split is activated and a transfer structure betweeen both is maintained you could achieve
Asset depeciation, Room Cost, Labour overhead -> Production overhead
Labour -> Production Cost
Electricity -> Energy

Maintain differ type of Unit of measurment for same material

I procured (internal /external) one material in Kg, but I want maintain different unit of measurement (like M). & sale is different unit of measurement (like m2).it is possible ?
If Possible kindly explain the steps

Hi,
You can maintain different BuM
But the stock keeping BuM will remain same
You have to maiintain in Purchasing view if you wish to Purchase in different BuM other than BuM of material soon you enter different BuM in Purcahsing system aske for the convsrsion factor Like 1kg = 100 PC here BuM is 1Kg but ordered BuM is PC
In the similer way in Sales View you can enter sales BuM & stock keep BuM.

We got some byproduct due to the production. So we are planned we will take qty in m2 & stock maintain in kg, because this is child material of another one product, so that time we consumption book in kg wise only u2026.
Finally we want:
      Received: M2
      Stock Maintain & Consumed: kg

Dear Porselvan ,
                 You can resolved it by using alternate unit of measurement.
Now there is two way:-
1. Take KG as Base Unit Of Measurement then Go to work scheduling View & take unit of issue as M2 as well as you put it asks conversion with KG (How much m2 in one KG) and it will make all movement posting By M2 but stock will be keep in KG which will be your Base unit of measurement. For consuming in kG u can put Unit KG in BOM of respective article.
2. Take KG as Base Unit Of Measurement then Go to work scheduling View & take Production unit as M2 as soon as you put it asks conversion with KG (How much m2 in one KG) and due to it Production will happen in M2 remaining all things happen in KG.
           For both these condition you can make movement any of unit which both you given by manual changing but automatically it propose unit as i explained.

Alternative unit of Measure for variant material

Here is an interesting scenario,
There is a naterial Billet with two variant characteristics length and size. and base unit of measure is TON. Now alternative unit of measure is PCS. How can define the conversion factor on the basis of these two variant characteristics.
In normal material (without variant char.)
we can define conversion factor 1PCS= 2TON
For variant material,
For the material Billet with variant charc length and size how can i define conversion
so that system calculates diff. PCS with diff. length and size but material is same. So how can i Do that.
for example for same material Billet but variant char. Length is 6 M and size is 120*120 ,its wt will be 2 TON for 1 PCS.
for the same material Billet with variant char. length 12 M and size 120*120, its wt will be 12TON for 1 PCS.
How can i cater this for the same material.

We have faced the similar scenario for steel industry. Based on my experience, it is not possible to define variable values for Alternative UOM conversion with the variant characteristic/configuration, specially if you want SAP to maintain inventory with variable conversion rate.
Use the Batch specific unit of measure for this situation.
1) Create batch specific UOM i.e. Ton_per_pc (TOP) --- User proportional unit conversion
2) Create batch characteristic ton_per_pc and assigned UOm.
3) In material master additonal data select proportion unit and enter the standard conversion rate between ton & pcs.
4) While doing GR - In batch creation you can enter whatever the conversion rate is and Inventory will be updated accordingly.

[help]why data on table (master ) different from materialized view(slave)?

We have had Oracle RAC 2 Groups (master and slave).
We have created materialized from slave to master. and I have created materialized view log on master .
When slave group job is broken a long time(12 Hrs). We refreshed job and runned job id.
But I have found database on materialized view (slave) different from TABLE on master group. (m$log =0row)
Please tell me how can we resolve Or because that problem is m$log

Yes I do have a unique identifier on each record in the base table and therefore also in the MV.
So now the Downstream application has to update some of its own database tables based on what is in the MV that I provide - just so I understand how would that work e.g.:
1. MV gets refreshed from my base table every minute
2. Some records are newly inserted and some simply updated
and this is the part I don't understand (I might be missing something obvious)....
3. Downstream application interrogates the MV every (say 1-2 minutes) and updates its own tables based on the data there.....but let's say MV contains 10,000 records and in the last minute 100 of those records have been updated and another 100 inserted - how will it know the 200 records it needs to pull?

Kindly note that I have defined a new UoM in ERP and for this new UoM the sales created perfectly in ERP, i have checked the netweaver settings for ISO codes and UoMs in CRM and they are fine...

You're right, we can use that option. However, as you said, if row/column contains same UoM. My reports are quite complex, they contains different UoM.
