Material lmaster LSMW

Hi,
We are using direct I/P method for material master. Program RMDATIND, method 0020. Here we want to upload material basic data and Unit of measures ( including alternative measures( . We r using structures (BGR00, BMM00, BMMH1) and (BMMH6).
But i have 2 different file ( 2 different source structures- hierarchical) for both the data. How can we maintain the relationship with these 2 file's records?
What is the use of field STYPE which is common for all the structures?

1) create one common fields for the both the structures.
2) In LSMW there is a step Specify files put the cursor on legacy data and press create , u will get a pop up screen in that File contents---->data for multiple source structures.
select this and rest of the required things as per your requirement.

Problem with Addition of z field in Standard Material master LSMW

Hi All,
We have added couple of zfields in material master MARC table also in BMMH1 Structure for lsmw and it is working fine if we go into MM01/MM02 transaction and enter value in Zfields it is getting updated into Marc table.But it is not working when we load through Standard material master lsmw RMDATIND.
We ran RMDATING program also we regenerated the RMDATIND program.Still it is not working.
Anything else need to be done?Any input would be greatful.

Basic Data Upload to MATERIAL Using LSMW is not working

HI All,
we are using LSMW    /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_IMPORT_TEXTS program to upload the basic text of the material, all steps are executed correctly and shows records are transfered correctly , but the in MM03 the text is not uploading..

Error in material upload LSMW

Hi experts
When I run the LSMW for materials upload I am getting this error
"Idoc included in idoc packet containing an error : transfer it separately"
But when I run the LSMW for each material separately it works fine.
Please help me to sort this out.

what I usually do is run lsmw steps up to 'Display Converted Data', then use sxda to schedule and run a background job, If in ECC 6.0 system, see logs in MM90

Material Mater LSMW

I am trying to map fields with DIRECT INPUT for material master. Where do i map the Product Hierachy (PRDHA) for MM01.

After completing step 1 in LSMW come back and click on Object overview. Here you will see the target structures BMMH1 is a taget structure. U need to create a source structure and add field PRDHA in the source field.
Then under field mapping assign the field in the source to BMMH1-PRDHA.
Is ZMMH1your source structure?

Sales view / Tax classification upload in material master - LSMW

Hi All,
While Creating in LSMW using RMDATIND Batch input method for material mater creation . I am getting an error of "you have not fully maintained tax classification" (M172 error message).
LSMW details are as follows:
Project, sub-proj, object : SCIMM,SCIMM,SCI_MM_CREATE
Please suggest the field value mapping section of LSMW and suggest me how to fix the problem.
When I create masters manually, in sales view/tax classification 4 tax categories (3 for CA CTX1,CTX2,CTX3 and one for US UTXJ) are getting populated automatically and I need to key-in only 0 or 1 for tax values (ex material :KCC9800MEKIT for sales org 2000, dc 70, dv 70).
Please sugget me how to fix this issue.

LSMW TAX classification for materials
In the above thread, you have specified
1. If you have a separate file for tax codes to be applied for different materials then you need to map the records of this file to BMMH2 ( multiple records for a material possible for different countries). Then you need to map BGR00, BMM00 & BMMH1 with another header file with one record for material for the corresponding records on file which correcponds to BMMH2.
I require your help to implement the above step. As mentioned by you, I have 3 tax codes for CA and one for US (2 diff countries) for each material to be maintained in Tax classification.
I have created a main source structure SS which has fields for all views (basic view, sales view, purchasing, plant/sloc and warehouse). I have created a substructure SSTAX for main source structure SS for Tax fields (Aland, taxty,taxm1) and assigned to BMMH2. Will this work or we need to create two source structure (at same level) for this requirement.
I am bit confused on how to link these two input files. I created one record for material xyz in header file and 4 records in tax file (4 tax categories ctx1,ctx2,ctx3 and utxj). How to create one to one relationship working between header and tax file. How the tax file structure will be for 10 material records?

In LSMW transaction, I find diffculty to locate the above option.

Create material using LSMW

Hello LSMW experts,
I want to upload material master from flat file with some Plant and Sales Organization views in single load. But I am not sure how to map the header data (basic data), sales organization and plant data to the tool. Do I need to have separate files for basic data, sales org, and plant?
Is there anybody can help me on this? Thanks in advance.

Step-by-Step Guide for using BAPI in LSMW
Note! The screen prints in this article are from ECC 5.0. They may differ slightly in other versions.
Introduction:
This document details the usage of BAPI in LSMW. We have used the example of migration of the purchase order data into SAP.
Pre-requisites:
It is assumed that the reader of this article has the minimum knowledge required on the Business Object, BAPI, Message Types and IDoc Types.
Step-by-Step Procedure:
Details of the BAPI used in this scenario:
Business Object: BUS2012
Method: CreateFromData
Details of Message Type and Basic IDoc Type:
Message Type: PORDCR
Basic IDoc Type: PORDCR02
Letu2019s have a look at the BAPI first, before proceeding to the LSMW:
1. Go to Transaction BAPI
2. Click on Search Button

Problem in material master LSMW - Classification view

Hello all,
I have created LSMW for material master upload with standard input method. Material is getting created thr's this, but 'classification view' is not getting created only for some material groups. Functional consultant is saying that there is no such configuration exists in system regarding material groups.
Plz advice how to resolve this?.

Material master -lsmw

Hi ,
I am using Direct input program to update and change material master by using program RMDATIND.I have to update MRP,Purchasing,Storage,work scheduling,QM views and changing sales,plant views.I didnt find the fields belongs to QM view in the standard structures of Directinpt. Remaining all fields from all the views are mapped. Can any body suggest the way , so that i can include the QM view fields . They are ART(Inspection type), MPDAV(AVg.Inspection duration), QATV (Inspection set up)....

Hi Rajesh,
I think its better for you if u go with Recording method for ur requirement. Because, I presume that standard programming is not handling it. Even, BAPI method also is not handling the Inspection type and duration.

Classification of Material using LSMW

Hello
I using LSMW in order to create the characteristic. There are 4000 datas. This characteristis are going to be assigned to the class in order to have a classification of the materials.
Details:
In the 1rs step: I select object 0150 Characteristic and the program RCCTBI01
But I don't know if I have to use 0140 for class wich has the same program or 0130Classification and has this program RCCTB03.
But at the end when I created the batch imput the system generate the following message: Transaction not supported Message no. BL001
I have been trying with this transacctions: CT01, CT02, CT03, CT04, CL02, CL20N AND ALWAYS I OBTAIN THE SAME MESSAGE.

I never used batch input for classification, I usually do it with IDOC method.
In any case you have to create 3 objects.
One for the class
once for the characteristics
and then one for the classification.
regarding Batch Input, there is an OSS note 213120
As of Release 4.6A, the transactions of the class system are no longer suited for batch input.
If you have batch inputs from previous releases, you can continue using these since the old transactions still exist.
Where possible, use BAPIs or Direct Input instead of batch input. The old transactions will be eliminated in one of the future releases, so that the batch inputs will have to be converted anyway.
If you still want to use your own batch inputs, use the old transaction codes (such as CT01/02/03). If this should not work, use the alternatives mentioned above.

Creating Material using LSMW

Hi Guys!
I have a LSMW in which I have to upload 7 files, one per tab (MM01, CREATING MATERIALS), and I decided tu use a direct input, but how can I build the structures of my files? One of the tabs should be header (All the 7 files have 7 fields in common between them) and the rest as items? Should i have to create one structure per file?
Could you please help me on that?

First, I guess that each file has only one structure (it means all lines have exactly the same fields at the same positions).
When you create the source structures (one per file in your case), you can define a hierarchy (create one as the child of another one, by simply positioning your cursor). The relationship between structures (files) is made implicitly by using the same field names, that must be positioned at the beginning of the structure. Note: you can link 2 structures with several fields.

LSMW-CREATION OF MATERIAL MASTER

Dear Experts,
I tried creating a new material using LSMW, after the recording it recorded some checkboxes(KZSEL_01, KZSEL_03....06, i dont really know how to deal with these check boxes in the maintain source field section, any contribution will be highly appreciated, thanks

zkarnalkar explained it already: he fields which you have mention are the select views which you have selected while creating the material master, like basic data1 basic data2, purchasing etc.
The fields on this selection dynpro are variable, their position depends on the the material type definition if you do MM01 or on already maintained views if you do MM02.
Which means in turn that you have to do an extra recording for any material type.
This is just the first variable screen. MRP views have as well variable fields, based on an entry in one field a different field becomes hidden or mandatory. So you need as well an extra recording for any variant in the MRP views
Recording is the worst import method for a material master, as recording is static and material master is high dynamic.
Use BAPI method, IDOC method or direct input method. They are all delivered by SAP and work well.

Help urgent plz - lsmw retail material.

hi all, i am posting my message again as this problem seems to have taken me too.
i am new to lsmw and trying to create a retail material through lsmw. i chose business object method with

everything has gone well and i could create a material too.
but in unit field,(i.e the display of all types of units) the legacy data contains 4 rows of units. when i transfer them the new created material displays only one line of units. the other three rows in material display (code transaction- mm43)are empty.
i have tried using on_change_transfer too but that doesnt seem to make any difference.

ps: i tried with batch input recording method too. but there ,after execution all the rows are filled with the first line of data from the source file. so a failure again.

hi all
i am new to lsmw and trying to create a retail material through lsmw. i chose business object method with business object as bus1001001.method is 'CLONE'
everything has gone well and i could create a material too.
