Hi,
It is better if the Material Master creation step is done by LSMW - Direct Input method with the following object:
Object               0020   Material master
Method               0000
Program name         RMDATIND
Program type         D   Direct input
Check the program documentation for more details.
For a sample data file generation ( Sequential file ),  check the program RMDATGEN
If the reqmt., is for a repetetive loading of Material Master you could schedule / execute the LSMW by following program: /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_INTERFACE.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards, Murugesh

  • Some example of Material Master Data Record

Which one is the examples of recorded data in a material Master record:
    I.   Information on possible sources of supply, SLR.
II.  Unit of measurement and material description.
III. Purchasing history of a material and its respective purchasing documents.

    only the second.

  • I have a problem in BDC Recording?

    HI,
When I do recording method in BDC to trasfer legacy in "MM01" (Material Master) "It records scroll bar also when we select Data". Is there any solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gagan

    Hi,
You can also use FM "SELECTION_VIEW_FIND" to find the appropriate Material Master View.
But I agree with Sanjay, why go through the hassle of possibly creating a very complicated BDC (each different material type could concievably be a spearate recording), and use the RMDATIND load program (with LSMW) or even use the BAPI "BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA" insetad?
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Pat.

  • LSMW-CREATION OF MATERIAL MASTER

    Dear Experts,
I tried creating a new material using LSMW, after the recording it recorded some checkboxes(KZSEL_01, KZSEL_03....06, i dont really know how to deal with these check boxes in the maintain source field section, any contribution will be highly appreciated, thanks

zkarnalkar  explained it already: he fields which you have mention are the select views which you have selected while creating the material master, like basic data1 basic data2, purchasing etc.
The fields on this selection dynpro are variable, their position depends on the the material type definition if you do MM01 or on already maintained views if you do MM02.
Which means in turn that you have to do an extra  recording for any material type.
This is just the first variable screen. MRP views have as well variable fields, based on an entry in one field a different field becomes hidden or mandatory. So you need as well an extra recording for any variant  in the MRP views
Recording is the worst import method for a material master, as recording is static and material master is high dynamic.
Use BAPI method, IDOC method or direct input method. They are all delivered by SAP and work well.

Sorry for my obvious answer, but you should ask a more precise question.
Your errors are that you try to enter fields but they don't exist, so it sounds logic.
And the error "Enter Valuation class." means that the field is mandatory. So you must enter it.
Re-record the transaction using SHDB (eventually play with the http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Recordduringplay), run it in A display mode, and correct your program.

  • Mass Material Master Records Extension

    Hi All,
    Mass Material Master Records Extension

Is there a t-code for mass extension of material master records,
    Please advice
    thanks in advance
    Rgds
    Priyanka

    The Options are:
    1. LSMW
    2. SCATT
    3. BDC
It is not recommended through MM17 ot MASS.
Abap help can be taken to develop the BDC / LSMW accordingly.

    Hi
Use se38 to run the BDC program for Txn code MM02 for your UOM changes
use Txn codoe SM35 for the details. You can use the Log to know how many records changes has been carried out.

  • LSMW-Error during processing of BDC session change to material master MM02

I have created an LSMW for changing material master data.  I recorded MM02 and using the "select views" screen selected the accounting 2 view and entered the information in the fields on that screen requiring changes.  I've set up all of the technical screens for the LSMW.  However, when I process the BDC session with "display errors only", the program stops at the select view screen with an error message "Select at least one view".  Any ideas how I can process through this screen so that the Accounting 2 screen opens in the BDC session?  One further note, I set that selection as a constant in the field mapping and conversion rules screen.  The field name recorded as KZSEL_05.

    hi
one question how did you choose the view? i mean to ask by scrolling down using mouse or page down.
the scrolling by mouse is not recognized by recording and that may be the error. so whenever you have to go down in screen please use page down not scrolling at least in LSMW.

  • Not allow order unit in INFO record if it is not in material master

    Hello there!
In standar SAP any user can introduce any order unit in the info record, even if it is not maintained in the material master alternative units of meassure. We need to block this...
The conversion factor is not a problem for us, as we can set it only for display in the customizing, so that the systems brings it automatically from material master
The idea is to allow as order units only those units of meassure that exist in material master.
We have been checking if it is possible, but no success...
Any idea on how to get it? Error messages, user exists, or so on...
    Thanks!!

    Hey vmendoza7785,
Congratulations on getting your new iPhone. I'm sure it is frustrating not being able to do everything you want with it. Let's see if we can get your backup started.
If you are having an issue with being unable to make a backup of your iPhone with iTunes, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

but when i do the posting, system show error "Posting only possible in periods 2010/07 and 2010/06 in company code C999"
PS: C999 is the company code that contains the plant P999
And when i try to close the current period of material Master record  by MMPV, system show below information :

    Period closing complete; log issued.

and my current OB52 setting is below:

    Hi,
Check in T.code: MMRV and see which period is open for ur Co.Code and back posting is allowed or not. If you are sure to open new period now of  new posting to period 08, then
    use t.code: MMPV ,
    enter
    Company code C999
    Period to open 08
    Fiscal Year 2010
    Execute
( system will close the period last period 07 and automatically system open the new one 08)
    Now try ur transaction.
if any problem, then check  in FI Side:
Use t.code: OB52 and open the 08,2010 period in Account Types A, K, D,M, S and specially Account Type u201C+u201D which stands for valid for all accounts type and save. Better consult FICO consultant for OB52 step.

  • How to enter a material on SO without a Material Master Record?

    Hi guys,
Pls help me 2 flowing problem:
    1. How to enter a material on SO without a Material Master Record? And all case need to enter a material on SO without a Material Master Record.
    2. How to use customer material number if there isn't Master Data
    Thanks

    Hi Friend,
I dont think we can go with a sales order with a material without material master record.
But there are some cases where in we can create a sales order by entering a material which does not have a material master.
    1. Through material determination
You can create a material determination for a material (1234) which exists in sap by a material(XYZ) which does not; For example in VB11 you can create a material determination for a material 1234 ( exists in sap) through a material XYZ which does not exists in sap.
While creating the sales order when you enter the material XYZ is not give any error and automatically determine the material 1234 which exists.
    2. Text material
We can create a order/quote by directly entering a text in the material description and without entering the material. This the case for text material wherein text item category will be determined.
Please let me know if this help you. Else kindly elaborate the scenario.
    Abhishek
