Material master - classification details

Hello,
we have material master with classification view- active
now i wanted to down load all the materials - classification details (value maintained for the characteristics in classification view)..
is there any table from which i can down load the same>?

Change documents of material master classification class type 001 and 300

Dear guru ,
I want to see the history of change documents of material master classification using MM02.
The system allow to see the history only for class type 023.
For class type 001 or 300 the change document isnu2019t available.
I must do some settings or the function for these class type arenu2019t available ?

changes in values for a characteristic can be monitored in CL20N but as for MM02/MM03 transaction only for class type 023.

Material Master Classification view

Hi all,
I have some doubt in Material Master Classification view.
I want to know the Database Table name in which the field Class Number
is stored.
I know that these tables are stored in the stucture ( RMCLF
) during creation of material master.

Pricing based on Material Master Classification

Hi Guru's,
Can we have a pricing based on material master classification.
Scenario: Material can have few characteristic. If we select few of the classification, this should influence pricing.
Any idea on this, has anybody worked on this before?

I am not sure about classification, might work with Variant Config.
Alternatively, you can use split valuation if you don't have many characteristics.

Creation of Batch Class in (CL01)
Assignment of above created classed characteristic to the Batch Class at the time of class creation. (CL01)
Assignment of batch class to material master in classification view. (MM01)
Creation of MIC with reference to above created Class characteristic (QS21)
Creation of inspection plan with above MIC (QP01)
Follow your business process cycle for creation of inspection lot
Result recording and usage decision (QA32)
You can see in MSC2N that batch characteristic will get updated.

Change History of Material master classification data

Dear all.
How can we see the change history of the Material master classification data.
Whether any standard report exists which can give this Change History data or whether we can find from any tables?
Please let me know your thoughts on this

changes in values for a characteristic can be monitored in CL20N via menu Environment > Change documents
change history for classification is only stored if you activated this.
if it is not set active in your system, then see SAP Note 943559 - FAQ: Frequently asked questions about the classifctn. system
it has instruction how to active it.

Use of Standard Class in Material Master classification

Hello Experts,
Can you please explain me the significance of 'Standard Class' option in classification view of material master?
When I click on F1 it gives following info (which I can't understands completely)
A standard class allows you to access all the information on classification and characteristics for an object when you use the object, without having to select one of the classes it is assigned to.
Can you please elaborate more on this?

Actually my question is why there is option of 'Standard Class' provided in classification view. If multiple classes are assigned to given material then we can select only one class as a standard class. What is the use of selecting a class as a standard class??

Batch Determination in SD - Need for Material Master Classification View

Hi!
Is it mandatory to have the classification view of the material maintained to enable expiry date based batch determination at delivery creation?
I have configured BD for the delivery. When testing with a material for which the classification view is maintained, the batch is determined. When testing with a material for which the classification view is <b>not</b> maintained, the batch is not determined.
Appreciate that this may seem like a strange question given what the testing shows but I am working with a colleague who is adamant that the classification view on the material master is not required.
Any casting votes would be much appreciated and rewarded accordingly. Thanks, Duncan

Classification of batches is mandatory if you want to use the batch determination feature.

Disabling Material Master Classification

Hello,
We have a requirement where we will disable the user going into material classification screen while creating or changing the material master based on authorization object. As we know, the material master transaction will switch to classification transactions in this process. We looked into various user exits and enhancement spots where we can put our code, but we were not successful. We anticipate your help on this issue.

Hi Christian,
Your requirement is to restrict certain users to change or create the classification in material master. (If i have understood it correctly then...) the solution is to control it through authorizations.
The Authorization object is M_MATE_STA. If the field STATM in this object has a value C included then those profiles/users will have authorization for Classification view and others wont.
Your SAP security Admin should be able to hel[p you with this. By doing so you would have no need to control it using User exits or enhancements.

Multiple class types for material master classification display default.

Hello,
We are running on R/3 4.7. We use several different class types for our material masters (001 and Z01). The problem this creates is the end user having to constantly tell the system which class type to use when going to the classification screen for different materials with different class types. If a user views one material's classification page with a particular class type (001) then looks at another material with a different class type (Z01) the system tries to pull in information from the last materials class type (001). The system tells the user there are no assignments for the class (001) in the material their viewing but there is one for class type (Z01). The user then has to select the class type that applies to the material master their trying to view. Is there a way for the system to automatically see when a material has only one class type assigned to it for it to automatically default it in without the user having to specify the class type?

Check the configuration, have you maintained default class type for material type.
Logistic General> Material Master> Basic Setting> Material Type> Define attributes of Material Types>Select the material type> Double click on material type--> Class type

Material master classification view mandatory

Hi All,
Can we make classification view required for any material creation using MM01.
We want the user to maintain a value in the classification view before the user is allowed to save and create a new material.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi SAP friends,
I found a solution to this problem.
Use the user exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001. Call the function module MAIN_PARAMETER_GET to get the PSTAT (maintenance status) during material master creation. If PSTAT does not have a 'C' value, then it means the classification view was not maintained.
To check further if a class type and a class was maintained in the view itself, call the function module CLAP_DDB_ALLOCATION_FR_BUFFER. Pass the value 'MARA' to the PTABLE parameter and the corresponding CLASSTYPE (could be '022', as is my case) and the I_CLASS ('FIFO_BATCH' in my case). This function module will return the T_ALLOCATIONS table. If the table is blank, it means no class type and class were maintained.
Then you can just display the appropriate error message.

Try function module CLFM_OBJECT_CLASSIFICATION. You cannot do a BDC for it. You can also try standard programs RCCLBI03, RCCLBI02 or RCCLBI03 but they may not be relevant in your case.

There is no such document exists.
We have to go thro each field and thro help only we can understand.
For your information all the fields in matl master are never used by one industry.So even in matl master u can see lot of fields not appearing
