I am new to loading master data, i have searched forum still getting more confusion, My requirment like material master
data load i like to know what data source have to use and how to load into target, please guide me step by step.

hello there,
lets first define what you want, e.g. attribute, text or hierarchy, it can be all 3 as well.
if you want attribute for material master data you can use 0MATERIAL_ATTR
for text you can use 0MATERIAL_TEXT and for hierarchy you can use 0MATERIAL_HIER
all material master data goes into infoobject 0MATERIAL. good luck and feedback if you need further assistance.

Material Master Data load failed

Hi All,
I am loading material master data. I have around 8055 records in R/3. The load has failed with an error "Non-updated Idocs found in Business Information Warehouse" and asking me to process the IDocs manually. I have checked in WE05 for the IDocs and found 3 Idocs with status 64(IDoc ready to be transferred to application).
But when I checked in the manage screen of the 0MATERIAL I could find the Transfered and Updated records as 8055. I have even checked the data in 0MATERIAL and found that all the data(8055 records) has already been uploaded.
Why is it still showing an error(load failed) even when all the data has been uploaded? What should I do now?

for material text no language please check Note 546346 - Material texts: no selection on languages
and for why idocs problem, check e.g Note 561880 - Requests hang because IDocs are not processed, Note 555229 - IDocs hang in status 64 for tRFC with immediate processing.

Reason and Prerequisites
As of PI/PI-A 2001_2 Support Package 6, the selection option for the 'SPRAS' field in the OLTP system was undone in the 0MATERIAL_TEXT DataSource. (Refer here to note 505952).
Solution
As of PI/PI-A 2002_1 Support Package 4, the 'SPRAS' field is provided for selection again with the 0MATERIAL_TEXT DataSource in the OLTP system. When loading the material texts from BW, the language is still not provided for selection in the scheduler, instead all languages of the language vector in BW are implicitly requested from the source system. However, during the delta update in the source system, the change pointers for all languages in the source system are now set to processed, regardless of whether the language was requested by BW or not.

In transaction RSA5, copy the D version of the 0MATERIAL_TEXT DataSource to the A version.
Then replicate the DataSources for 0MATERIAL in the BW system. The 'SPRAS' field is then flagged again as a selection field in the transfer structure of the 0MATERIAL InfoSource. The transfer rules remain unchanged. Activate the transfer rules and perform a delta initialization again.
Note 561880 - Requests hang because IDocs are not processed
Symptom
Data extraction in a BW or SEM BW system from an external OLTP System (such as R/3) or an internal (via DataMart) OLTP System hangs with the 'Yellow' status in the load monitor.
After a timeout, the request status finally switches to 'Red'.
Information IDocs with the status '64' are displayed in the 'Detail' tab.

Reason and Prerequisites
Status information on load requests is transferred in the form of IDocs.
IDocs are processed in the BW ALE model using tRFC in online work processes (DIA).
IDoc types for BW (RSINFO, RSRQST, RSSEND) are processed immediately.
If no free online work process is available, the IDocs remain and must then be restarted to transfer the request information.With the conversion to asynchronous processing, it can often happen that no DIA is available for tRFC for a short period of time (see note 535172).
The IDoc status 64 can be caused by other factors such as a rollback in the application updating the IDocs. See the relevant notes.
Furthermore, you can also display these IDocs after the solution mentioned below, however, this is only intended as information.
You must therefore analyze the status text.
Solution
We recommend asynchronous processing for Business Warehouse.
To do this, you need the corrections from note 535172 as well as note 555229 or the relevant Support Packages.
The "BATCHJOB" entry in the TEDEF table mentioned in note 555229 is generated automatically in the BW system when you import Support Package 08 for BW 3.0B (Support Package 2 for 3.1 Content).For other releases and Support Package levels, you must manually implement the entry via transaction SE16.
Depending on the Basis Support Package imported, you may also have to implement the source code corrections from note 555229.
The following basic recommendations apply in avoiding bottlenecks in the dialog processing and checking of IDocs for BW:
1. Make sure there is always sufficient DIA, that is, at least 1 DIA more than all other work processes altogether, for example, 8 DIA for a total of 15 work processes (see also note 74141).
TIP: 2 UPD process are sufficient in BW, BW does not need any UP2.
2. Unprocessed Info IDocs should be processed manually within the request in BW;in the 'Detail' tab, you can start each IDoc again by selecting 'Update manually' (right mouse button).
3. Use BD87 to check the system daily (or whenever a problem arises) for IDocs that have not yet been processed and reactivate if necessary.
However, make sure beforehand that these IDocs can actually be assigned to the current status of requests.
TIP: Also check transaction SM58 for problematic tRFC entries.
IMPORTANT: Notes 535172, 555229 and the above recommendations are relevant (unless otherwise specified) both for BW and for SAP source systems.

Inital material master data load error

Hi experts,
We are on ecc 6.0 and gts 7.1.
While loading the initial material master data from R/3 to GTS,Transaction (/SAPSLL/MATMAS_DIRR3),I am getting the error ( for 1 material)-
Of 1 selected material(s), 0 were processed successfully
Message no. /SAPSLL/PLUGINR3112
When I try to load the required list of material, the error is same.
The RFC data distribution model is working for vendors and customers properly.
We want to use only compliance mngt and embargo functionality to block orders.
Can you give me some guidence?

Dear Milmuk,
it is hard to tell, why it is not working. There could be different reasons.
Please check if you have entered the correct data.
It could be that the relevant tables for transfer are not filled.
Please execute the following:
- BD53
- select message type (/SAPSLL/MATMAS_SLL)and edit it
- select a segment
- save
- deselect segment again
- activate
- set in trx BD60 the FM to the correct value
(/SAPSLL/MATMAS_DISTRIBUTE_R3)
You can than check with the programm: '/SAPSLL/PLUGIN_CHECK_R3' if
all 4 required tables (TBD24, TBD62, TBDA2, TBDME) are filled, or not.
If that's all fine I suggest you open a CSS ticket as then a more detailed analysis is necessary.

I have applied RSKC tcode in BI with ALL_CAPITAL, ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX, and one special character string. but still getting the same error.

Thanks for the reply. i have solved most of errors. but there are some errors like this
Diagnosis
    Data record 261 & with the key '000000000000132559 &' is invalid in
    value '10x8x5 &' of the attribute/characteristic 0SIZE_DIM &.
System Response
    The system has recognized that the value mentioned above is invalid, and
    has processed this general error message. A subsequent message may give
    you more information on the error. This message refers to the same
    value, even though it does not state this explicitly.
Procedure
    If this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in
    the PSA maintenance screens. If this message appears in the master data
    maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. This allows to maintain your masterdata
which string i should have to add in RSKC to remove this error ? i have already added the ALL_CAPITAL, ALL_CAPITAL_PLUS_HEX.

Redoing the Intial load of Material Master data

Hi,
The requirement is to flow the data between R3 and CRM.Business partners, Material and Sales documents.
I have created Customer and Material in R3 and in CRM r3ac1 i set filter conditions for material and customer .
Data successfully flowed from R3 to CRM this is confirmed in CRM (SMQ2) when i activated it showed a green light.
I used tcode COMMPR01 in SD tab it is not showing particular sales org 5030.
For BP it shows sysfail in SMQ2 when i tried to check it shows message BP number already exists.
Iam doing the Intiaload of Material Master data second time .so what precautions i have to take before starting the Intial Load .
Plz Clarify.

HI Jack,
Regarding the customers:
You could be getting the message due to a variety of resons. Perhaps you are using overlapping BP number ranges in CRM and R/3?
The other reason could be due to client copies in one or both systems thus leading to data flowing to the wrong clients.
Regarding Materials:
Make sure that that org mapping has been correctly maintained in the CRM Org Model and that this org unit has not been filtered out in the fitler settings.
If the mapping exists correctly, then you will see a BDOC with an error. You will also see the sent data in the BDOC.
This is easy to check. Just change a Sales Area dependent attribute for a material in R/3 and see if the change is sent to CRM. If yes, then check the BDOC and the BDOC log. If the problem is in the org Mapping this will show up in the BDOC Log.
Another thing you can check is the buffer. Perhaps the cache/buffer is not getting updated after the download.

Problem with Master Data Load

Dear Experts,
If somebody can help me by the following case, please give me some solution. Iu2019m working in a project BI 7.0 were needed to delete master data for an InfoObject material. The way that I took for this was through tcode u201CS14u201D. After that, I have tried to load again the master data, but the process was broken and the load done to half data.
This it is the error:

Message no. RSDMD218
Diagnosis
During the master data update, the master data tables are read to determine which records of the data package that was passed have to be inserted, updated, or modified. Some records are inserted in the master data table by a concurrently running request between reading the tables at the start of package processing and the actual record insertion at the end of package processing.
The master data update tries to overwrite the records inserted by the concurrently running process, but the database record modification returns an unexpected error.
Procedure
u2022     Check if the values of the master data record with the key specified in this message are updated correctly.
u2022     Run the RSRV master data test "Time Overlaps of Load Requests" and enter the current request to analyze which requests are running concurrently and may have affected the master data update process.
u2022     Re-schedule the master data load process to avoid such situations in future.
u2022     Read SAP note 668466 to get more information about master data update scheduling.
Other hand, the SID table in the master data product is empty.

Thank for your help, but I was applied your suggesting. I sent to OSS with the following details:
We are on BI 7.0 (system ID DXX)
While loading Master Data for infoobject XXXX00001 (main characteristic in our system u2013 like material) we are facing the following error:
Yellow warning u201CSecond attempt to write record u20182.347.263u2019 to BIC/ XXXX00001 was successfulu201D
We are loading the Master data from data source ZD_BW_XXXXXXX (from APO system) through the DTP ZD_BW_XXXXX / XXX130 -> XXXX00001
The Master Data tables (S, P, X) are not updated properly.
The following reparing actions have been taken so far:
1.     Delete all related transactional and master data, by checking all relation (tcode SLG1 à RSDMD, MD_DEL)
2.     Follow instructions from OSS 632931 (tcode RSRV)
3.     Run report RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL from tcode SE38 (using both check and repair options).
After deleting all data, the previous tests were ok, but once we load new master data, the same problem appears again, and the report RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL gives the following error.
u201CCharacteristic XXXX00001: error fund during this test.u201D
The RSRV check for u201CCompare sizes of P and X and/or Q and Y tables for characteristic XXXX00001u201D is shown below:
Characteristic XXXX00001: Table /BIC/ PXXXX00001, /BIC/ XXXXX00001 are not consistent 351.196 derivation.
It seems that our problem is described in OSS 1143433 (SP13), even if we already are in SP16.
Could somebody please help us, and let us know how to solve the problem?

Message Type for Material Master Data Changes

Hi all
I'm managing Message Types for Material Master Data extraction from R\3 system to BW system, in order to load on BW only the changes done to some fields of MARA table that are delta relevant.
Now from R/3 BD50 Transaction I can see that there is a message type that refer to changes done on MARA fields: RS0044.
I would like to replace this message type with another one (RS0020) in order to align different systems.
Now changes to material master data in R/3 system are recorder with both message types but only those with RS0044 message type are processed and loaded into BW system.
So I would like to know:
1. How is the message type related to the DataSource 0material?
2. is it possible to replace a message type for BW?
3. if yes, how can I do it?

Hi Oscar!
At the moment I'm using Delta queue of 0MATERIAL. I know that in the queue there are all the new and changed records.
But I would like to be able not to load all the changed records, but only those that refer to some fields of MARA table.
E.g. if the gross weight of a material is modified I don't want to load this change on BW with Delta loading .
I've seen that from R/3 Transaction BD52 you can set only delta relevant fields referred to a specific message type and to delete the other fields.
As I'm able to do this directly in the Development system and Test System, I haven't got the authorization of doing it in the Production system.
That's why I need to include this setting in a CR and then ask to transport it from Test to Production system.
But message types referred to MARA field changes are different between the two systems.
And it seems they are automatically created.
Is it true?

Hi Sruan,
1.Go to RSA6 on Source system(ECC) and check weather your datasource is active or not.
2.If it is active and if your Business content is active you can Install your Infosource,transfer rules,update rules etc. and you can schedule an Infopackage and pull data from source to target.This is one method of loading master data.
The other method is
1.Activate your datasource on ECC side.
2.Replicate your data source.
3.Assign Infosource.
4.goto context menu of your datasource(0MATERIAL_ATTR) and create transfer rules.
5.Propose update rules
6.Activate them.
7.Schedule an Infopackage and load data into target.(0MATERIAL)
Follow same procedure for texts

In the same situation now:
1. Suggestion is to load the Basic Data centrally, say from HQ
2. Other data can be loaded via the subsidiary in the different countries.
3. If required you can use a block or a material statu and have the HQ control the access to the other parts of the material master.
For your information, we have come across a big issue regarding this and only now we have begun the above method as my client's HQ controls the release of materials into the market.

Hi Velu
You have to load this in a normal way you do it with LSMW.
Additionally you have to update the warehouse view fields too.
Select the batch input recording in LSMW and go to the MM01 transaction enter all the required fields including WM views.
If you handle material with fixed bin strategy & Replenishment scenario, you have to create a material by selecting the respective storage type in "selection view tab"

How do I extract the material class data so that I can load them with LSMW IDOC CLFMAS after the materials are loaded?

You have 2 possibilities.
1. If it is 1:1 transfer for source SAP system to target SAP sytem ( without data modification ) you to establish the ALE interface and distriute by using the prg: RBDSECLF
2. If it is a transfer of CLF data between 2 SAP systems where you need to modify the data based on some rules after you extract the data from the source system, you could extrace the data from Legacy by BAPI: BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL. Once you extract the data, you could process as per the reqmt, & load the data by LSMW either by DI or by IDoc method.

7.5 Hierarchy Master Data Load

Hi experts,
I am trying to load material masterdata with a hierarchy.
When I was loading my members I applied an attribute filter.
It loaded OK and loaded the hierarchy nodes ok.
Then as I went to load the hierarchy it gave me an error saying that "Hierarchy nodes include dimension members that do not exist"
When I checked through the log I could see that the "missing" members where all the ones that I had filtered out with the attribute filter.
But it seems the hierarchy load needs them?
Is there a way to apply the same filter in the hierarchy load? Or any other way around this?
Or can an attribute filter only be used if you are not loading hierarchies?

Thanks so much for your quick reply.
My problem is not that my nodes don't load. They do actually come through fine in my first master data load.
But then when I load the hierarchy BPC complains that the node I want to now create as parents has members that don't exist in BPC. These are basemembers, not nodes.
For example:
BW:
Parent A:
   Child A
   Child B
   Child C
BPC
I only load Child A and Child B because Child C does not meet the attribute filter
When I then load Parent A I get an error that Child C is missing?
Regardless I tried your method and it didn't work for me?
-First I loaded my members only with the attribute filter - no problem
-but then I put in a rubbish filter like you said and ticked to load the hierarchy nodes. When I choose the AND filter nothing is being loaded at all. when I choose the OR filter it loads everything (incl the members that I excluded in the first load)?
Did I understand that wrong?

Master data loading special character issue in bw

while extracting Material master data from r/3 system due to special characters load is getting failed even after enabling in RSKC.
is there any length restriction in RSKC to enable special characters like 20 or 30 only.
If i specify the "ALL_CAPITAL " in RSKC what exactly it will do .

Hi,
No small letters are permitted for characteristic values (in the InfoObject maintenance). It depends, however, on the language being used as to whether a character is capitalized.
It is guaranteed that the characters ' !"%&''()*+,-./:;<=>?_0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ' are capitalized in all languages. Thus these characters are permitted for characteristic values.
Expl:
The bit combination, that stands for an 'Ö' in German, displays a small 'sch' in the Russian character set. In this way, a German 'Ö' is not capitalized in Russian.
In the German character set, the bit combination shows a "pictured reflected P" for the Russian capitals "SCH". The conversion of small letters into capitals is, therefore, language-dependent.
If you have a system, that delivers you permitted characters other than ' !"%&''()*+,-./:;<=>?_0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ', you can enter these characters here. The system the checks whether these characters are capitalized in all of the installed languages in your system . If this is the case, then these characters are also accepted in characteristic values.
You should only add additional characters to the permitted characters, if you have already installed all the languages that you wish to use later. All languages that you install subsequently are not checked.
It is possible that the validity of these additional characters is then not guaranteed, and the selectability of the entire master data is, therefore, put at risk.

Revoke the material master data's updated in production

I have updated the product hierarchy field for the list of materials using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.
I have forget to set the SALES_VIEW flag in BAPIMATHEAD table, instead it created all the views for the material. Is there any way to revoke the material master data.

i have the vistex extractor by using this i have to retrieve in BI layer(psa)
and master data information(Product no,Product descrip,material name and NDC) is already in BI side which is loading from ECC side,
and hence i came to know for Vistex application there is no standard content delivered in SAP,
so everything i need to cuustomize in BI landscape from datasource level to Data target level.
the rest of the fields contract type,Contract Name Contract Number and Contract Price
anyone guide me
how to load the data for master data information?
and how to design attribute and text to the master data in onfoobje level and data target level
and how to design the keyfields for DSO and Dimension for Cube by using this fields?

why we need to load master data information into DSO? as u replied .
for material information in DSO key fields we can keeep 0material it ll be fulfill for rest of master data .if its so,
what is the unique field for contract information to keep as 0material? in DSO
