Material master doubt

Hi all,
I am very much confused in what to fill in few fields of material master.
Please let me know in case of ROH, HALB and FERT material masters, what to fill in :
1._In house production days_?(My doubt here is in house production days will be suppose 2 days for 2 quantities and 1 day for 1 quantity.So do i need to give 1 day or 2 days for in house production days?
Next doubt: If my in house production days are 2 hours for 1 quantity( for example I am in HALB or FERT material master), how will i put 2 hours? that field only takes in terms of days! I cant put decimals.Do i need to go to in work scheduling view and at bottom I need to give base quantity as 48 if I have given 2hours in inhouse production days??
2.setup, teardown, processing, and interoperation times, base quantity in work scheduling view
My doubt here is for HALB and FERT anyhow I am giving time in routings, why to give it here also? more over base quantity is given with what reference? is it like setup, teardown, processing, and interoperation times are given total for base quantity 20 quantity( for example)?
3.Replenishment lead time: what data to give here? what will happen if I do not give anything? what will happen if I have given GR processing and planned delivery time also and the addition of these two is not equal to replenishment lead time?(is it related to replenishment lead time in any way??
Please reply in all 3 cases: ROH, HALB, FERT
I am into implementation and my client is asking me daily and I am very much confused.

Yes the base qty specified here should be the common base qty for all the above
The Lead time data maintained in Material master is considered if you choose "Basic scheduling" in scheduling field during MRP run (check MD02)
If you choose " Lead time scheduling" in that field then the data in routing is considered
In house prodn time:
In-house production time is independent of the order quantity.
The system requires the in-house production time to determine the planned dates for planned orders in materials planning (If you choose basic scheduling).
If you want it to be on basis of lot size... then specify you enter the setup, teardown, processing, and interoperation times. If you maintain these values, the system determines the in-house production time on the basis of lot size.
Total Replenishment lead time
Total replenishment lead time (in workdays)
The total replenishment lead time is the time needed before the product is completely available again, that is, after all BOM levels have been procured or produced. It is not calculated by the system, but defined in this field as the total of the in-house production time(s) and/or the planned delivery time(s) of the longest production path.
This time is necessary if, for materials produced in-house, the replenishment lead time is to be taken into consideration in the availability check.
In an availability check where the system takes the replenishment lead time into consideration, it only checks whether there are sufficient incoming quantities and stocks available to cover the requirements within the replenishment lead time. Outside the replenishment lead time,the system assumes that the material is available in sufficient quantity.
Therefore, in this situation, it is usually necessary to depict the product's total replenishment lead time with all BOM levels as the replenishment lead time.
Use
The following options exist for materials produced in-house if the replenishment lead time is included in the availability check:
The Total replenishment lead time field is maintained.
In this case, the time maintained in this field is used for the availability check.
The Total replenishment lead time field is not maintained.
In this case, the system reads the in-house production time and, if available, the goods receipt processing time, and interprets the total of these two times as the replenishment lead time for the availability check.
Note
There is no point in maintaining the Total replenishment lead time field for materials procured externally. In external procurement, the system adds the processing time from purchasing, the planned delivery time, and the goods receipt processing time and uses this total as the replenishment lead time for an availability check with replenishment lead time.

    May be in 'A' mode you are manually hitting the SAVE and saving
    The function code/OK code for SAVE is 'BU' like
        PERFORM bdc_field       USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
                                      '=BU'.
    so you have to write this in the last, then it won't ask in E and N modes
    may be this is missing in the program see and correct.

    I am having a Existing Material Master workflow.
    In that there is 1 tcode JI1D.Its working fing before i am modifying below activity.
    Now i am modifying this workflow ie i am including 1 CONDITION TYPE in this tcode.
    If plant is INDIA then call this JIID.Else skip this tcode.Only if ...else thats all.
    Then i moved to PRODUCTION.
    Its not triggering for both plant.
    Pls suggest

         I have to create a material which will be consumed directly. I would use the
    material type NLAG (Non stock material). If I create a material with this material type, will it contain an Accounting view where in I can maintain the price of the
    material? If it contains an Accounting view, which type of Price control should be
    used (Moving average or Standard)? Further, can we maintain an info record for
    a material with material type NLAG?How the price updation happens?

    I want to know the Database Table name in which the field Tax Category (TATYP) and tax classification(TAXKN) stored.
    I know that these tables are stored in the stucture during creation of material master.
    Its urgent please help if anybody knows

    The filed TATYP ( TAX category) is in TSKM,
    and i could not found TAXKN in data dictionary, i found TAXKM in TSKM table,
    the description for TAXKM is Tax classification.

  • Where can I update quantity in material master ?

    I was working on STO (Stock Tranport Orders) scenarios
    Bascially stock tranport orders can be done in three ways
    1. Stock Transport via stock transport procedure using 1 step procedure
    2. Stock Tranport via stock tranport posting using 2 step procedure
    3. Stock Tranport using a STO ( in Tcode me21n, where we select STO)
    Now, when I entered MIGO and selected Transfer posting and movement type 301
    (Transfer posting from plant to plant) and maintained the material details
    It is throwing up a message "Shortfall of stock level"
    I went to material master of the respective material for both the plants and updated the base quantity in the sales view ( base quantity field , under the shipping data ( times of day) block)
    Yet, it did not fix my problem and I am not sure where else I can maintain <b>quantity in the material master for the material</b>Any inputs into the above will be helful

    If The material has no BOM then it mustbe a ROH material.
    What u can do is :\
    Goto Transaction MIGO do movement type 101 - goods receipt with purchase order.
    If u dont have a purchase order than go with goods receipt with option as "others" and enter the material,Quantity,plant and storage location and post the goods movement.
    After that if u check MMBE then the stock will be available.Then go for STO it should be fine.
    So material master does not come into picture.
    Check the same and come back if u have any doubt.

  • Defaulting a PDF from material master to a purchase order

    Hi All,
    I am an SD cosultant working in MM also. I have a requirement wherein I can store some a PDF document in the material master and whenever I create a Purchase Order, the attachment should default in to the document. The idea is to send the PO by mail and also the PDF file should also be sent along with it.
    I do not have any idea about DMS and treid to look out for solution in this forum but am unable to find the right answer. Can somebody please help me by detailing the steps to configure this. I tried using CV01N and gave the material number as the object link. However, it does'nt get defaulted in the PO. It seems that I need to give th PO item in the object link and this does'nt serve my prupose at all.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot for responding. You have cleared my doubt and helped me save good time. We are open to some ABAP development including using exits. But I am not clear where to start with. I am looking at something like this:
    I shall store the document object in the material master first using the generic object service option. Whenever a PO is created it would issue an output using a smartform and print to PDF. Now the smart form would also print the object image with reference to the material number and it's object. My ABAPer tells me that he can modify the smartform to facilitate the image embedding. But I do not know how to develop the spec because I am not aware of the relevant tables and fields for the object. do you think this is feasible ?

    The values that are maintained in the material master in costing view is considered only for costing
    purpose.
    Say while doing the cost estimate for a material using CK40N,a costing variant will be used and say For
    Eg,PPC1,for this a valuation variant will be linked ,as per this valuation variant for costing purpose the
    first priority would have been given to the planned price in the material master in costing 2 view.
    So this value will be considered only for costing purpose.
    For procurement related things you have to maintain a purchase info record for a material + vendor
    combination in ME11 and a source list in ME01.
    In the purchase info record you can maintain a price for buying the material from that vendor.
    I hope this will clear your doubts.

    Our porcess is:
    1. Create a Purchse Order
    2.GR of Purchse Order.  & directly consumtion to  cost center.
    Now my doubt is that how can we maintain the QM paarmeters for Non stock material without Material Master Record.?

    Your requirement is not logical, If you say it is non-stock, once GR is done it would directly get consumed. QI to my knowledge not possible.

    When we create all these record, some of the fields are populated from one an other, so if we change these common field in one record, will it be changed itself in other record?like purchasing value key in MM and Info record are common so if we change this one in info record,the change in MM will be done itself or not and if not why?

    Let me take one example of reminder days only.
    Now material master's reminder days are specific and limited to that material only. for ex for material "007" reminder days are 3,6 and 9. that is in general.
    but when that material is provided by X vendor than reminder should be 4,7 and 11..than what?
    that should be maintained in info record. so info record is one level up for data maintenance. so if there is no info record, reminder days will be take from material master that is first level. but if you have maintained info record , means you want some specific data for that material when it is provided by any specific vendor..than reminder should be taken from info record.
    when data is adopted , first system checks info record than material master/vendor master.
    so when you create info record, some data are taken from master data ( material master/vendor master) but you can overwrite it base upon your need.
    than that data is fixed for that material n vendor..it doesnt change if you change master data...

    I have one query related to material masters (MM01, MM02).
    A material is marked for deletion using T-code MM06 some time back.
    Now due to some reason this material is required to manufacture a batch.
    So can u please tell me -
    How to unblock this material?
    Is there any impact occurs in any module link with material master (i.e. QM, PPMC, FI or CO or else)
    How can i cross verify its impacts?
    I am highly obliged if you clear my doubts. So that i can proceed for batch manufacturing without any hassle.

    In MM06 you can revoke it and use it,,
    Just check the source list validity and regenerate if required..also the Info record validity period and price vlaue,, if you want to change the proce use the MR21 to change the price for the material ,,
