Material master screens requirement

Hi guru's,
I've a unique business scenario and would like to get your inputs on this.
Here is my business scenario:-
Our material master screens/tables are hugely customized. We have lots of custom fields on mara, marc, mvke and mbew. We have been using custom screen sequence (yz) for material master for a long time and not any of the SAP provided standard screen sequences. Lot of the these custom fields are put in yz screen sequence screens. We have lot of materials on production with these custom fields populated. We got a business requirement to activate material ledger now and requirement is to put back 21 standard screen sequence. But 21 screen sequence doesn't have any of the custom fields.
I know one way is to setup new screen sequence(copying 21) and put these custom fields but I would like to get your expert advise before moving forward.
What are other ways to achieve this ? Any easy ways ?
Can we just modify accounting view on yz ?
What other impacts are we going to have for material ledger activation from MM point of view and during go-live ?
Sorry I've not worked on Material ledger activated environment before.

Use transaction MM03 SELECT MATERAIL selectVIEWS Basic / Purchasing whichever you want to view
Put the plant 0001 in IDES and storage 0001 and you can see material master

Material Master screen at right top corner lock button is display ?

Please guide for the function of lock button at right top corner -right side of check scren data
If you click system shows lock relevant field in display mode .how to make this in change mode.
if you enter system shows material is locked but we can create PO against that material also.

If a particular field is locked in the material master, then you can unlock it . Follow the path in spro-logistics general-material master-field selection-define lock relevant field. Make the required settings.

Addition of new TAB at Material Master screen

Hi Experts,
I want to add one new tab in between "Descriptions" and "Unit of Measure" tab (under "Additional Data" section in material master). That should hold few language dependent "Brand and Product" data. But, I have no idea is it possible or not.
Please let me know the process if it is possible.

Material Master - Error M3 826 Maintenance status of field ... to screen

Hi Experts of the Material Master,
I am getting the error M3 826 "Maintenance status of field MARA-BEHVO does not correspond to status of screen K" when all screens are selected in the Create Material Master transaction.
Here is my situation: I have added the fields MARA-BEHVO and MARA-TEMPB both of status L (Storage) to a screen called "Phys. Characteristics", which has status K (Basic data).
This produces the error message above in standard SAP. I didn't want to change the customizing of the screen to allow L, because this screen is also used by other material types.
I had to copy the screen MGD1 2701 (Phys. Characteristics) to my custom program for Material Master screens anyhow, as the number of fields and their descriptions had to be adjusted.
The program was created using the activity "Create Program for User Subscreens" in SPRO.
in the coding of ZMGD1 screen 2701 I have added this code behind the standard module FELDAUSWAHL to manipulate the standard logic that would blend out L fields on a K screen.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
*   Material Type
    IF mara-mtart = 'ZPNT'.
*     Screen-Names of the 3 fields
      IF screen-name = 'MARA-TEMPB' OR
         screen-name = 'MARA-BEHVO'.
        screen-active      = 1.

from the message, it appears that ZZKUNNR is a custom field attached to your MARA table. So, it is your System specific. I don't see ZZKUNNR available in MARA. If you look at the transaction code OMT3B (configuration for material master data screens), you can find K - Basic Data Screen in Maintenance Status field.
You may look in this area to fix your issue. Because yours is a custom field, its tough to analyse further.

Updation of Material Master Views

Dear All,
I am facing a design problem in creation of Material Master.
A certain user group creates X,Y,Z views in MM01 , MM02 but the other views data which would be of relevance to other users needs to be updated based on certain conditions like Material Type etc.
Eg : PLM user making Basic Data view .
 FI views and Sales View to be created automatically for other users.
The issue is this updation of data in other views which is of two categories :
i) if material type = 'abc'.
 MRP profile = 'fgh'.
ii) if material type = literature.
 then plants = '1111', '2222' , '3333' etc....
Regarding i):-
This data can being updated in a user exit , eg 'MGA00001' called in MM01.
But it doesnot allow to change any other structure other than WMARA where as we need to update data for WMARC, WMBEW, WMVKE etc.
Regarding ii) :-
How can I create material on many plants while the material is under creation in MM01 ?
How can i) and ii) be cracked ?
Pls give solutions asap .

I have a requirement, insted of user authorization conept, we wanrt that the user can view only the assign views of material master to that view
e.g if user is ABC, this user whenever display or chnage matetial master he can only view the screen of basic data nad purchasing, and if user XYZ login with MM02 or MM03 he can only view the Basic data, work scheduling and accounting view not the remaning can we control this with customizing, also How we can find alll the authorization obejct releated to material master screen, or related to one transaction.

Material Master User-Exit Query?

Hi..
I want to implement a change pointer for a material master in my system.
Can I use the already existing message type / IDOC type or do I need to create a new IDOC type.
And if yes, please tell me the step by step procedure in short:-)
I was thinking of using a user-exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001 wherein I will fill a customised Z-Table on the basis of Plant ie. if it is my plant then I'll capture that material in my Z-table(Used a simple If-Endif)
And later I will create a customised report to run BD10 with those materials and then I will delete all those records from my Custom report.
But now I am facing a strange problem, that if the user changes only the basic data(first and second views in the material master screen) then , I can't capture that material in my Z-table because, I am using Plant key in my IF-Endif condition(that coding is done in the user-exit itself) and the plant is coming from the Structure WMARC which is one of the import parameter in the user-exit-->EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001.
So, I think unless and untill the user makes changes in the views related to Plant, we wont be able to capture those materials.
So, I want to know that is there any alternative to it?

Hi,
The plant and all the plant dependent data for a material will be in importing parameter WMARC. If this table is not being populated is becouse you are creating only the basic material views, otherwise, that table should contain data.

Material Master Default Values

Dear All
Whenever we create a material, we want to have the same value as default for a particular field in one of the Material master views.
Is this possible and how can it be done?

Discuss with an ABAP consultant & find the user enhancement for the material master screen & then get the user exits for the fields.
Give the list of fields you need to have default values, then it can coded in the include program.
To find a user exit use T.code SMOD.
For further coding use T.code CMOD.

Update of cost in the material master

Hi all,
From the purchasing point of view,In the normal process Cost in the Material master gets updated from purchasing documnents automatically.In this case,manually if the cost is changed in the purchase order affects the cost in the material master.My requirement is this should be done automatically after receiving the vendors confirmation of list of material costs.There may be chance of change in the cost of the materials.so the costs of the materials which were changed should get updated in the material master automatically(VPRS).
Ie changing of the costs of the materials in the purchase order should be reduced .How this will done??
If we have more than 2000 line items in the purchase order,it will be quite little bit difficult to update each material cost in the purchase order .

Hi,
Normally material will be valuated with two types of price controls S -standard price and V-moving avaerage price.
A std price as its name indicated it is std and will not chnage.
A moving average price will chnage accordingly with the change in the material price.
Normally it will be better create a info record for the material and vendor combination for the plant or purchase organisation with a info update indicator in the purchase order will serve your pupose .
With the proper settings at SPRO system creates info record during creation of PO if it does not exist or updates the existing record if it has one with the latest price details in the form of last purchasing document so that these details get defaulted during creation of PO.
However you can create a outline aggrement so that a PO can be created with reference to that.
Or you can create a condition record for the price for your combination so that it can get defaulted.
The price which is there in PO will not be defaulted to material master.
Or time to time you can review the prices and maintain via MR21.
