Material Master Unit Of Measurement Changes Clarification

Hi
We have a material master with base unit of measurement as FT in basic data 1 view.
For this we have already some purchsing documents like PO's and PR's
But currently we dont have any open PO (or) PR and stock in system.
Still we could not change the base unit of measurement from FT to M..
Why?

The error shows some of PR's and PO's numbers.
when i check the material in table MBEWH i can see some of the stocks for previous period like year 2009 and the period 06 and some of the previous year like 2008 and 2007 also having some stocks.
Now advise.

Automatically pick material master unit of measure conversion to routing

I maintain finish goods conversion factor in material master u201CAdditional Data: Unit of measureu201D as M to KG and basic unit of measure for finish good in material master is in KG.
I attached multiple operations for the finish goods material in routing.
Some operations base unit of measure is M and others its KG.
I want to pick material master unit of measure conversion automatically when Iu2019m creating routing for the finish good material in ca01. (Unit of measure conversion for header and operation of the operation)
Can anyone letme know the SAP configuration for this.

Please expalin about the purpose of this requirement, because when you will create a order using that routing, at that time system will definately do the unit conversion automatically.

Material Ledger Unit Of Measurement different from Material Master

Dear Team,
In my client, there is a difference between unit visible in CKM3N and MM03. The base unit of measurement in MM03 is MT. Other than that, there are some other units maintained (not M3) in additional data tab in material master. In CKM3N, the visible unit is M3. M3 is not present anywhere in MM03.
Why would such unit flow in material ledger table? (CKMLPP has unit M3). Please advise.
One more observation is that when there is some price change document in Material Ledger, the proper UoM (MT) is being captured. Only in the basic price determination structure visible unit for each head is M3. Please check the attached screen shot.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unit of measure changed in BOM not reflected in Production order

We noticed the following problem in one of our production order.
1. We have a bom component having a unit of measure MT.
2. A planned order already exists for this header material.
3. We changed the unit of masure in the same BOM component to KG.
4. We processed the production order and did confirmations and did auto GR.( Value 20 times high)
5. The cost at GR is very high , although the material consumption is considering the changed unit of measure KG.
Any possible solution to this problem,

All steps suggested including read PP master data , rerun MRP and generate a new planned order and then convert to a new production order, have been done but the effect at 101 remains same with high actual costs.
The production order is acocunt-assigned to a WBS.
In table QBEW , the standard price is updated as very high. We havs S as price control in header material master.
May be , some one has some idea about how the standard price in Table QBEW gets updated. What is the source for this standard price which gets updated on doing GR ( It comes to project stock and we see the standard price being very high and so the actual cost is very high)

Material's Unit of Measurment differentin Con & Rec due to Prd Process ?

We got some byproduct due to the production. So we are planned we will take qty in m2 & stock maintain in kg, because this is child material of another one product, so that time we consumption book in kg wise only u2026.
Finally we want:
      Received: M2
      Stock Maintain & Consumed: kg
If u have any solution, kindly explain step by stepu2026

Dear Porselvan ,
                 You can resolved it by using alternate unit of measurement.
Now there is two way:-
1. Take KG as Base Unit Of Measurement then Go to work scheduling View & take unit of issue as M2 as well as you put it asks conversion with KG (How much m2 in one KG) and it will make all movement posting By M2 but stock will be keep in KG which will be your Base unit of measurement. For consuming in kG u can put Unit KG in BOM of respective article.
2. Take KG as Base Unit Of Measurement then Go to work scheduling View & take Production unit as M2 as soon as you put it asks conversion with KG (How much m2 in one KG) and due to it Production will happen in M2 remaining all things happen in KG.
           For both these condition you can make movement any of unit which both you given by manual changing but automatically it propose unit as i explained.

Service Master - Unit of Measure

Hi all -
had a question about services and alternate unit of measure. On a service master, its not possible to specify alternate UoM (like we do in material master). What is the process to say create a service in minutes and create a PO in hours ?

But the service maintainnsce on hourly or daily we have to decide.

Item Unit of Measure Change

We have some items that already have purchase orders, but we need to change their unit of measure for the future. It will not let us change the UOM field since there are already associated transactions, but is there a way around this through the DTW or SQL tables?

Technically, it is possible by creating a new Form with a Matrix to save UoMs and convert them into multiple different factors.
In existing B1,you can create a UDF in the Item Master and maintain conversion factors which is editable. When you are using the OITM, Items per Base Unit field, call the UDF UID. It should solve your issue.

Component material costing (Unit of Measure conversion) is not working at S

Unit of Measure conversion factor (Value) is not working for component materials at Sales order level costing, but the same conversion factor is working fine at Standard cost estimation level.
Example:
Conversion Factor for Raw materials (Procurement in Tones, Consumption in Each)
1 Ton (Rs.1000) = 10 Each (per Each u2013 Rs.100)
For Manufacturing of 1 pc FG is required 1 each Raw material
Issue: At sales Order level - Raw material costing is calculated at u201CTonu201D price u2013 Rs.1000 instead of u201CEachu201D price u2013 Rs.100.

Hi,
Pricing (unit conversion) is done different for MM and SD process.
MM has decided to use the old process which determines the values out of T006. There you have the conversion factors which are used in PO. If you create a sales order or billing document the determination will be different as the material master will be read.

We have to add a additional view to the material master of some products.
Is this possible to do as a mass change (ex. MM17) or have we to do it with transaction SCAT/ MASS?

LSMW using standard SAP provided RMDATIND program- check with ABAPer - You can extend all views or you can pick and choose selected views.
or
BDC scripts - If u have only 1/2 views extended use this.
Mass change doesn't help.

Kindly note that I have defined a new UoM in ERP and for this new UoM the sales created perfectly in ERP, i have checked the netweaver settings for ISO codes and UoMs in CRM and they are fine...

Production order should reflect material master changes

Dear PP Gurus,
After creation of production order I make changes in material master of FG (Base UOM = EA & Order UOM = MT) & also gave conversion in additional data. Now I want that this changes should reflect in production order. How can it possible. Please guide me.

However Any changes to PP master Date -BOM/Routing/Production Version can be update either through Read PP Master Data
in CO02-Function-Read PP Master data .If there is any changes in FG material Master Unit of Measure , then it will flow thourgh PP-Master data and will be updated accoreingly when you call the read pp master data function .
This is possible in SAP Standard process for Production Order If your Change Management Active .

Getting an error in CIF Inbound queue:"Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC"

Hi,
I am getting an error in CIF Inbound queue (function: CIF_ORDER_INBOUND_30A). The error text says "Only 0 decimal places are permitted for unit of measure PC".
Can anyone point out the solution to resolve this error? It would be a big help for me as I am new to APO and so getting difficult to find a clue for it.

Hi Mansi,
Please check the cif queue you will get the order number from that order number you can find out material code. Then check the material master unit of measure in MM03 you have used some alternative unit of measure and system is unable to convert order to alternative unit of measure because of decimal setting. If you go to CUNI and check the unit if measure PC it is not permitted for decimal places. If you need decimal than change the UoMof Material and use diff UoM or allow the decimal for PC which is not good practice.

Third party purchase unit of measure issue.

Hi Friend,
I have created sales order for third party process unit of measure in sales order is in Meter qty is 3.7 mater.
But PR & PO id created in the unit of measure Piece i.e. 3.7 pieces.
GR is already done for qty 3 pieces. Now when user is trying to do GR for qty 0.7 pieces we are getting error message serial number management allows only whole number.
How can I do GR for this. Also I want to know what setting I need to do to have PO in unit of measure M i.e. Mater.

Its all about your material master unit of measure.
In Material master - Basic data 1 view - Base Unit of measure will be picked in PR.
In Material master - Purchasing - order Unit will be picked in PO (If blank, then base unit of measure)
In Material master - Sales Organization 1 - Sales unit will be picked in Sales Order.
And for your error message, please search in SCN, you will get many thread regarding the error.

Not able to change UOM in material master for a material

I have a issue with changing of the UOM in the material master , IN MMO2 after changing the UOM , in Display error , its showing the error as : The base unit of
                                     The reasons for
                                     Manual reservation
                                     Reserv.No   , Item - No data
                                     Purchase order - 30017056 , Item 1 - 1
There is no stock in the previous as well as current period , and deleted the PR , still i am not able to change

Please look at OSS Note 1069560 - Data inconsistencies: Activating integration. models in parallel, if this helps you.
Since Gross data of material is in the basic view, it is common across plants , whereas, IMs are normally designed to have material masters at plant level.
We may have same material in different IMs with different plants. Therefore changes of the basic view fields are then contained in multiple IMs. SAP advises to have a larger IM or sequential activation of IMs.
