Material Migration per view

Hi Friends,
is it advisable to migrate Material Master Data per View?
I mean, first the Basic view, then the Purchase View etc.
If not, what problems can occur.

Hi,
Yes you can do this approach.
Otherwise the input file will be very complex and the LSMW or Batch Input program would be very difficult to create.
First create the basic data, later use the same RMDATIND program to update the pther views.

Creation of Material from SAP VIEW using CDESK.

Hi Experts,
I have one question related to creation of Material from SAP View.
CAD file created say SM1000.prt
Create DIR in CAD View say SM1000
Scenario 1 :   Create Material in Background from CAD VIEW or SAP VIEW from cad desktop, It creates material SM1000
                           in background.
Scenario 2 : Open CDESK ( Transaction)
                        Click on OPEN,
                        Selecting the DIR created SM1000
                        Create the material in background in SAP View, it gives message " enter material number"
Why am not able to create the material from SAP view using CAD Desktop. If any modifications needs to be done in CDESK CUS to solve this please let me know.

Hi Sudharshan,
maybe the reason for this is that your CAD applications provides a special material number and the customizing in CDESK is defined to use this number. In this case the number or value can by provided from the CAD application only from the CAD View.
In the SAP view the material gets created like in MM01 for example and so mabye you have to enter a material number.

Material Master Classification view

Hi all,
I have some doubt in Material Master Classification view.
I want to know the Database Table name in which the field Class Number
is stored.
I know that these tables are stored in the stucture ( RMCLF
) during creation of material master.

Interactive ALV to report to get into Material Master Sales View

Hi,
I want to know way to get into Material master Sales view from an Interactive ALV report.
In the output we have (custom report for Sales) the Sales Order item information. If the user double clicks on the material, it should directly goes to the Material Master Sales org 1 view. I can able to get to MM03 initial screen to display the list of views, but it would be better we can use the Plant, Sales Org and plant info from Sales Item to get into the material master Sales view.
I checked that this functionality is there in the standard code. If you double click on the material in Purchase order display(ME23N) from the item level, it is directly getting into Material Master Purchasing view. Is there a way to achieve this.
Your suggestions would be appreciated with points. Thanks!

Yes, it's possible using the CALL TRANSACTION command with the addition AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN. The only thing that you need is to fill the fields from the first screen (SET PARAMETER command).
DATA: carrid TYPE spfli-carrid,
connid TYPE spfli-connid.
SET PARAMETER ID: 'CAR' FIELD carrid,
'CON' FIELD connid.
CALL TRANSACTION 'FLIGHT_TA' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN.

Material Group field is Missing in Material Master - Purchasing view ?

I want to configure to bring back Material Group field is Missing in Material Master - Purchasing view. It is mandatory to Create & save a master. I cant save a master in sandbox. Need Help..

I make all field as Optional & Create master successfully.. Thanks.. I even verfied in J1ID Master for assesable value & Chapter ID Combination.. But in Cenvat Determination Field, How i can set Default Indicator for Modvat "tick" & how can i set Excise Intimation Date also.
I checked Material Master in mm03 [ Display].
I clicked More & Pre Vals. option in Foreign Trade Import.
For More, It shows this error.

How to get more than 50 rows per View

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to change the limit of shown recors/rows per view which is 50 by default (also see screenshot).
I couldn't find any clue about this.
I hope someone can help me out.

I wouldn't use so many rows displayed in a Report, because the performance is going to be very poor...

Material master - accounting view 1

Hi experts,
I forgot to mention the standard price in accounting 1 view before saving a newly created material and now the field appears greyed out when I try to enter the value in MM02. Is it possible to fix this issue?

If Price control for the material is maintained as V, then using MR21 price can be maintained. In your case price control is 'S' Standard price hence standard cost estimate to be run for updating the standard price in material master.
Below is the procedure to do standard cost estimate and update the standard price in materials master:
Prerequsites:
BOM and Routing Master data.
Rates in KP26 for Activity Types for the combination of cost center and activity types in the restective period.
Procedure:
Go to tcode CK11N - Ente the Material number, Plant, Costing Variant and Costing Version and press enter twice.
Material wise and activity wise cost details will be displayed. If any error are there click on error log for rectifying the same.
Click on SAVE for saving the cost estimate.
Now you need to mark and release the cost estimate. Go to tcode CK24. Enter the period and year. Eg; Current month - 3 and 2014.
Enter the company code, plant and material number. Un check Test run.
Click on Marking Allowance. Another screen will come -Select the company code another pop up will come -enter the costing variant and SAVE. Come back and click on the execute button on previous screen. Message will be displayed as " materals cost estimates were updated succesfully". Come back to initial screen.
Click on Release on application tool bar. Then click on Execute button. System will display the message as 'Price Document updated". Come back.
Now Go to Material Master - Acounting view standard price gets updated.

when i tried to copy bill from one inv org to another with in same OU,getting the following message..
No entries found for List of Values
APP-FND-01436: List of Values cannot find any values for you to choose
Cause: The List of Values execution failed to find any values.
Cause: The SQL statement specified to fdlfch() failed to return any values.
Action: Check the message stack for any SQL statement failure messages. Check to make sure your SQL statement works in SQL*Plus. (ROUTINE=fdlfch)

How to Unassign a Configurable Material to Material in MRP3 View

Is there any way to Unassign a Configurable Material to Material in MRP3 View, the fieldl are greyed out.
We accidentally assigned a Configurable Material to Material in MRP-3 View.
Any Inputs would be of Great help.

Want to share what we have done further to resolve the issue,
Though SAP says this cannot be undone and recommends to archive the material and proceed completely new.....sometimes this maynot be realistically practical.....
here is what we did,
If we remove just the CUOBJ and STDPD values in MARC table, there can be inconsistencies existing in the tables and when for any reason if we want to assign the configurable material again in MRP3 view, SAP throws out a dump........
there is FM provided by SAP " CUCB_CHECK_AND_DELETE_CONF " which can used to remove all the corresponding entries in the remaining tables....following data is necessary...
ROOT_INSTANCE = CUOBJ value in MARC table.
OWNER = LeadingZeroesMaterialPlant Ex. 000000000001234560001
Note: The FM doesnot remove entries in MARC tables, hence removing CUOBJ and STDPD values in MARC still has to be done manually...

Assigning Material Group per User

Hi SAP Experts! =)
Pls Help! does anybody have an idea how can I assign a Material Group per User. This is for authorization purposes. What I just know, is to Assign just one Material Group per user through Parameter ID MKL. This will only solve my problem if a User will only have access for a Single Material Group.
Do you know a way how to Assign access for Multiple Material Groups? I would want to use this for the PR/PO process, so a User will only purchase Materials under his/her assigned Material Groups. =)

HI,
Usually we give a star symbol for the authorisation object of material groups means the user is authorised for all the material groups.
In case if you want to give multiple material groups for the user then we have to specify the material groups instaed of the star symbol.
You can check the users authorisaion against the user ID in tcode SUIM.(Users with complex selection)

I was wondering if you could do a repeat of a PPV event. Or is it one and done? Watch it live or don't watch it at all.
Reason being, I need to get to bed early Saturday night and I would like to see it even if I already know who won. I don't have DVR.

Apologies for any confusion. The Pay-Per-View live event is different than On Demand. The charges were for that one time showing.
If you have a DVR and recorded this event then you could certainly replay it at no additional cost.
Additional showings of the Pay-Per-View event are priced at the same cost as the live event.

You can try MM03, then in search criteria, you can use Sales material by description, input sales organization, and do search, it should bring up materials with sales organization maintained in sales view.

Easy Access:
Logistics> Sales and Distribution-> Master Data-> Products> Material-> trading Goods--> create
Question: create sales view for trading goods
Difficulty: the Sap system does not show sales org. 1 view, sales org. 2 view and Sales: general plant view.
How to create that?

Material without Accounting views

Hi,
I created a new material without Accounting views and I assigned its material group to a valuation class in Tcode OMQW (and in OBYC I assigned the appropriate account to this valuation class)
Then I tried to create a PO with this material, the problem that is the system didn't determine the GL account automatically even though that the material group of the material is assigned to a valuation class
Please how to solve this ? must I create Accounting views for this material even that I worked with material group ?

The purpose of Accountin views is not just to provide GL for accounting purposes, but also update the stock and its value upon GR
So, you would need to have Accounting views for sure...
