Material number for chemical with different packing sizes

A same chemical that we purchase from supplier can be in 25Kg bag, 1000kg bag and 50 kg bag. When we receive the chemicals, the physical goods of the chemical are in 25 KG Bag, 1000kg Bag and 50Kg bag store in the warehouse.
When we sell to customer, it can be in those 3 standard bag size or in KG depend the order quantity from customer.
For the above Chemical what is the best way to catalogue the material number, should it be 3 material numbers for the 3 different pack size, or 1 material number only?

you can have two solution for this with both pros & cons with one material master:
1. You can have three different unit of measure for 25KG, 1000KG & 50KG bag and you can maintain the relationship in the material master. This will help you to get the total stock in KG in your company and you can sell to the customer. Only problem is you will not be able to determine how much of each type of packaging you have.
2. You can define the material relevant for batch management. Create three batches 25KG,1000KG & 50KG, also create three different unit of measures as explained above. Now whenever you are doing the GR just put the material in correct batch, by doing this you can easily track you material along with the type of packaging. Also you can sell the material, while delivery you can use the functional of batch determination based on some log. Only problem is manual intervention which can be covered if you use some exit while doing GR so that correct batch is selected based on the Order Unit.
Hope this will help you..

  • Different material number for SD and for PP MM

    Hello
    Does sap provide a functionality to manage different material number for SD and for PP MM:
    We produce and stock material A . We want to be able to sell material A and B. For MM (stock)  and PP, B = A but for reglementation, we need to print on the delivery document  caracteristics stored at the material level.
    We don't want to substitute B by A on the sale document and we want that the stock of A beeing reduced by sales orders of A and B.
    Thanks
    Simon

    Simon,
    Iu2019m not aware of any way to manage the same thing using one material number in MM/PP and a different number in SD.
    What makes B different from A?  From your description it sounds like itu2019s the same thing with different characteristics.  Without more info itu2019s difficult to offer solutions to your problem but Iu2019d start by looking at classification and batch management so you can differentiate differences between materials based on characteristics captured at the batch level.
    If you provide a little more info about the products perhaps I can help.

  • Same Item with different Packs

    Hi Dear;
    how can i manage the following scenario?
    i have item A that i can buy with different packs.
    i have different packing in the same good receipt PO.
    exp: pack of  300, 301,301.5,302,302.5,310,
    so there is no logic in the packaging
    The question is:
    How can I manage these packs?
    i want to know how many qty of every pack i have and how many item in all packs.
    exp:
    2 of pack 300
    1 of pack 302
    5 of pack 303
    (2300)+(1302)+(5*303) as total qty for item A.
    regards;

    Hi
    You can try to Manage such item using 'Batches'
    1. When creating batches, user should follow the practice of creating a single batch for the total quantity.
    2. Create a new text field(UDF) say 'PackInfo' to keep track of the packing information for each batch
    2. For Ex, Say, a batch no. B1234 of  quantity 2417 is received into stores.
    Stores will pack this quantity 2417 into the required size like 2 of pack 300, 1 of pack 302, 5 of pack 303
    and enter this information in the text field UDF 'PackInfo' .
    So PackInfo UDF will have value like this:
    2 of pack 300, 1 of pack 302, 5 of pack 303
    I am not sure if this will helpyou. Please comment

  • How to create a report with different page sizes

    Hi,
    I would like to create a report with different page sizes, it's possible to do it with diadem?
    When I change the layout parameters, changes afect to all sheets...
    Is there a way to change page size individually for each sheet?
    Thanks in advance.
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
    You can use the DocStart and DocEnd commands along with the PicPrint command to spool multiple print commands to the same output PDF file using the direct printer approach.  This should enable you to programmatically specify the page size differently for each sheet that you add to the print job.
    ' Print PDF Page by Page.VBS
    OPTION EXPLICIT
    Dim i, Path, OldPrintName
    Path = AutoActPath & "2D Stacked"
    Call DataDelAll
    Call DataFileLoad(Path & ".TDM")
    PDFFileName = Path & " Page by Page.pdf"
    IF FileExist(PDFFileName) THEN Call FileDelete(PDFFileName)
    OldPrintName = PrintName
    PrintName = "winspool,DIAdem PDF Export,LPT1:" ' Set to PDF printer
    PDFResolution = "72 DPI" ' "2400 DPI" , "default"
    PDFOptimization = TRUE
    PDFFontsEmbedded = FALSE
    PDFJPGCompressed = "high"
    PrintOrient = "landscape" ' orient paper
    Call PrintMaxScale("GRAPH") ' auto-max, see alternative margin setting variables below
    PrintLeftMarg = 0.181
    PrintTopMarg = 0.181
    PrintWidth = 10.67
    'PrintHeigth = 7 (read-only)
    Call WndShow("REPORT")
    Call DocStart ' Begin multi-page document/print job
    FOR i = 1 TO 4
    Call PicLoad(Path & ".TDR")
    Call GraphSheetNGet(1)
    Call GraphSheetRename(GraphSheetName, "Page " & i)
    Call PicUpdate
    Call PicPrint("WinPrint") ' Add a page to be printed
    NEXT ' i
    Call DocEnd ' End multi-page document/print job
    PrintName = OldPrintName
    Call ExtProgram(PDFFileName)

  • Creating a document with different page sizes.

    I'm trying to produce a leaflet with different pages sizes. To try and explain what I mean I have included a picture of what I'd like the front cover to look like. When producing a booklet there doesn't seem to be a provision to individually alter each page size in the pages or document set up panel. Is there anyway around this or do I have to create each page seperately, export to pdf and then combine into the leaflet? Help gratefully received. tomas

    The build booklet feature is for very basic booklets, not something like this.
    Sorry, but you’ll need to make everything full size and then do the cutting.

  • Creation of PDF with different page sizes

    I am generating PDF using Acrobat Distiller from my application from the .ps file. From one machine, the PDF is generated with different page sizes.one page with 8.5*12.99 and other pages with 8.5*11 in the same PDF. However the PDF is created with correct page sizes for all the pages in another machine. The only difference between the machines is the Internet Explorer version. I am using Internet explorere 11.0 and the other machine have a version of 8.0 installed.
    Why the difference in page size occured? Is there any dependency on the Internet explorer used while creating the PDF using Distiller? Any help for the issue with the discrepancy in the page sizes is really appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Acrobat Distiller uses the page size in the PS file. May be a problem of your application which create the PS file.

  • Tablespace creation with different block size

    OS - rhel 4.3
    kernel - 2.6.9
    Oracle - 10.2
    Hardware - IBM X series 346.
    Defined block size for the db - 8kb.
    Question: Can I create a tablespace with 16k?
    regards,
    Lily

    You can create a tablespace with 16k blocks if, as Daljit suggests, you create a 16k block buffer cache.
    I would, however, ask why you would want to create such a tablespace? The ability to have tablespaces with different block sizes in a single database was created primarily to allow the use of transportable tablespaces in situations where different databases had different block sizes. If you are trying to create a 16k block size for a different reason, there are a couple of things to be aware of
    - While there are theories out there that tablespaces with different block sizes can have dramatic effects on performance, I've never seen any solid evidence that backs up this theory.
    - Using different block sizes in the same database can significantly increase the complexity of managing a database. You'll have multiple buffer caches that you'll have to size, for example, automatic SGA management doesn't work with non-standard block size buffer caches, etc.

  • Database Tablespaces with different block sizes...

    Hi ,
    What are the pros and cons of setting different block sizes to tablespaces, and where may be this useful???
    Thanks,
    Simon

    http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:101384681997409236::NO::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID,F4950_P8_CRITERIA:44779427427730
    generally speaking tablespaces with different block sizes than the db standard are for transportable tablespaces only.
    however,
    Burleson will tell you to micromanage your memory allocations with multiple block sized tablespaces and various keep/recycle caches.
    http://www.dbazine.com/oracle/or-articles/burleson2
    I think its overkill and you can most likely get performance improvements from looking at other things such as the SQL your applications are running against the db. My rule of thumb is that 70% of your performance improvements are going to come from sql tuning. You can focus on the other 30% when the vast majority of your queries use 5 LIO per row per join. (Milsap's ratio not mine)

  • My sprint service is off. How can I still use that number for iMessage with wifi instead of my apple id

    My sprint service is off. How can I still use that number for iMessage with wifi instead of my apple id?

    You can't. You can only use that number if you have active service.

  • Material Cost Estimate with different lot size.

    What happens if the material cost estimate is run twice using different lot sizes each time  (all other parameters unchanged) for the same period?
    Will the cost estimate run later overwrites the results from cost estimate run earlier (though the lot size is different)? What is the role of lot size in a material cost estimate?

    The costing lot size impacts your cost estimate if you have lot size independent costs (i.e. setup cost).  Those fixed costs are spread over the costing lot sizee to give you a cost per unit..  Larger costing lot sizes can also help you minimize rounding issues.
    You can only have one marked cost estimate in a given period.  However, you can create and save a cost estimate as many times as you want as long as you have not marked it for release.  When you save the estimate it will overwrite an existing estimate.  You also have the option of creating multiple estimates under different versions or with different costing variants.

  • BDC for MM with different material types.

    Hi, Can anyone explain me how the MM01 tcode can be handled in BDC, when material with different material types are present in the flat file. Different material types have different views and hence different recordings....How to handle this scenario?

    Based on different types of material, you can able to find out which all views are required to call through BDC. Try to find out views by using tables MARA, MAKT, MARD, MARC etc. Once it is confirmed you can call views using screen numbers.
    Here I don't think so more than one recording is required. Record MM01 transaction using Basic Data1, once you go inside the transaction select all the views required to complete the MM01 transaction. It will record all the views (hence screen numbers), then you can switch/call views based on screen numbers.
    Hope this helps you to resolve your query.

  • Two printers with different paper sizes. How to setup defaults for each?

    I have two printers connected to my beloved Mini: Samsung ML-1610 & Epson AccuLaser C1100.
    First printer uses American Quarto US Letter paper.
    Second one - European A4.
    Every time I try to print anything on either of them I receive a message from printer driver that paper size mismatched. Further more either printer will wait until I press buttons on them to "proceed". Which is very annoying to say the least.
    How can I setup defaults for every printer in Mac OS Leopard? If I use printer preferences dialog it will setup either size for both printers rather than for each its own.
    Please advise.

    From what I have seen, the page setup dialog is independent of the print dialog. If you set the 'Format for' to one printer, a then choose a different printer when you print, the previous settings won't apply.
    You could see if the printer set to A4 supports automatic conversion of LTR to A4. Then at least it won't ask for attention when you send a LTR page to it. Otherwise I think your only option is to check before you print that you have selected the correct paper size for the printer.

    That's freaking ridiculous!!!
    You've got to be kidding me... right?
    Even MacOS 8 could do this.
    Like it's horrible for me because I print a lot of photos. So I set my default paper type Format for: Canon MP610 series, Paper Size: US Letter (borderless). But then when I go home and print web pages or text documents on my Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS, then it still remains set to Format for: Canon MP610 series. The freaking OS knows what printer I'm using; why would it remain formatted for the other printer even though that will cut off the edges of all my prints (since the LaserWriter does not do borderless printing) -- and not even warn me?! I just wasted 30 pages!
    I cannot tell you how preposterous it is that a modern OS like Mac OS X cannot even get a simple thing such as printing correct. How could they screw up PRINTING?!

  • Emergent!! Two alternative material number for one same real material???

    Hi Experts
    In our company,for some specail requirement,we want to have two material numbers for one same real
    material,that means this two materials are substitute for each other. In every transaction, we can
    use this both two material numbers.
    For example,material number "A123 " and "B456" , these two material numbers are for one real
    material, In every transaction we can use "A123 " or "B456".For exmaple ,we can create and release
    a production order to produce"A123",and when doing goods receive for this produciton order with
    MB31,we could use"B456" for the same production order. And also when we view the stock for "A123" in SAP,we could get the the sum stock of "A123" and "B456".
    Is it possible in SAP? How to achieve it that one real material have two different material number??
    And how to manage these two different material number??
    Thanks for any reply!!

    Fei,
    The requirement can't be absolutely mapped in SAP.
    The reason is the logic behind this is wrong.
    May we know why do you want to maintain two separate codes for one real material?
    We have option of batch management as well as split valuation to take care of your requirement.
    Evaluate these things.
    Hope this helps you.

    Hi,
    In standard SAP it is not possible, You have only two options,
    1. Maintain Single material and use split valuation.
    2. Maintain two different materials and do material to material transfe as and when required.

  • Material Number change during unpacking and packing using HU

    Dear Friends,
    Need your help for the below case.
    our client is importing and selling to the domestic and exports. This is typically a trading plant.
    The issue is when we unpack and repack using the HU, the material will be changed or not.
    As per some of the inputs, i heard it will change. Please confirm.
    If it changes how to avoid it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Prabhu

    Depends on your design and how you want it to be, you can go either way.
    usually if you repack material  ( e.g. 200 kg drum repacked to 4 x 50 kg ) you have some labor costs and costs for the other packaging material.
    you can design your case with 2 materials , the trading good with 200kg  and a second material master for the trading good in 50 kg.
    here you would use a production order to produce the 50kg material, you would issue the 200kg material and issue 4 smaller empty drums and get 200 kg of the material in 50 kg drums
    This new material would then cost more than the 200 kg material since you added labor and empty drums.
    If you want only work with one material number, then you issue the 4 empty 50kg drums to a cost center and use the packing function in delivery.
    You will never be able to know how much material you have in 200kg drums and 50kg drums in stock this way, as this process is for transport packaging
    If you want show the accurate stock and value situation then I recommend to go with 2 materials
