Adobe Forms creation

The department I work in receives paper job requests. I would like to automate that with an online form. I created an online form with the Adobe forms maker application. So, a person from another department will be able to fill out an online job request form, and that form will be submitted to my department. Now this is where I get stumped and need advice...After the other department submits the online job request to my departmet, I need to add additional employee info and charge info that will connect to the first submitted form in some way. Is there a way this can be done with Adobe forms maker? Thank you in advance for your input.

Hi Michelle,
You can try the following to see if it works for you:
- Create a new column directly in the Response table (this way the column would not be visible on the fillable form), named "Additional Info" or similar
- Now, after the form is submitted, you can type additional info into "Additional Info" cell in the corresponding response row

Adobe Form Creation Error - Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized

I'm trying to generate an impersonalized form in Guided Procedures. I got an error.
I checked the SAP logs and the error is
Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://hostXX:portXX/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document"
Before this error occurs I see an alert

1. com.sap.engine.services.security.server.jaas.BasicPasswordLoginModule SUFFICIENT ok exception true Authentication did not succeed.
I've checked the ADSUser and its not locked. Configuration and everything looks fine. I've tested the ADS connections too on SM59.
We have similar configuration for DEV and its working fine there.
Any help on this is highly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with authorization failed for the ADSuser. My problem however only occurs at night when the system is the least used.
We have changed two things which I believed have now solved the problem.
1. Make sure all j2ee servers in the cluster uses localhost for the web service destination. Our system was configured to use the central instace forcing all request to a single server.

2. Check maximum number of users in VA. Ours was set to only 300 due to some earlier performance problems. Default is unlimited I believe, so it shouldn't be a problem normally. (Global configuration -> Server -> Security provider-> "MaxUsersCount")
My conclusion is that we ran out of login sessions during night time for some unknown reason, causing a authorization failed exception on the app servers.
Plausible?

Adobe form creation with fillable=X fails

Hello experts,
I am working with a form designed in SFP - in the PDF preview everything is fine, the fields are fillable.
When I create the form with the generated function module, it only works when docparams-fillable is empty (but then it is a static form)
If I call the function module with fillabe=X I get a FPRUNX error. I need a fillable form (unfortunately).
I have seen in the forum that others had the same problem - but have not found a solution yet.
What do I need to tell the basis people for checking ADS configuration or installation?

Hello!
If you want yo make form fillable that means it becomes not just print form, but interactive form. Even if you are not planning to send data back to SAP and just want to change smth in the form before output - it is still sort of interaction, isn't it?
Unlike print-forms part of this solution (which is included in you SAP license), interactive part requires additional licensing and installation of special credential on ADS server.
Only if you have credential installed at the server you can make form fillable.

Interactive Forms based on Adobe software is SAP's new solution for forms development. Its first release has the focus on interactive use of forms. High-volume printing is supported in principle, but - being a new solution - the performance has not yet reached the same level as Smart Forms or SAPscript, two established solutions that had years to grow. Interactive Forms is the only solution that will continue to be enhanced with new features, while SAPscript and Smart Forms will be supported without limitations.
When (or if) to move to Interactive Forms depends on your requirements. For interactive forms usage, i.e. the new functions, you have no choice, as the existing solutions don't support it. High-volume print scenarios need to be carefully analyzed to see whether your concrete requirements can be met at this point.
However, it is possible to move to Smart Forms and design your forms in such a way that a migration at any point in the future would be but a small step. Smart Forms offers from Web AS 6.40 a migration wizard to Interactive Forms. Technically, everything can be migrated, but we recommend against things like ABAP program nodes, for example.

To get an overview idea about Adobe forms ,
Using SFP Tcode , first you need to create a interface . in interface you can declare the import and export parameters and also the declaration part, coding etc : This is nothing but similar to Function module interface.
And now we have to create the Form which is interactive. Create the form and enter the interface name which you have created in first step, so that the parameters , declarations of fields etc : will be copied and available in the form layout. So that you can drag and drop these declared fields ( dclared fields of interface ) to the layout.
Create the context and layout in the form.
The layout generated can be previewed and saved as PDF output.
Now we need to integrate the driver program and the PDF form to get the final output as per the requirement.
On activating and executing the form you will get a function module name just similar to smartforms.
The driver program needs to call this FM.
Refer to the below sample code :

Adobe form for leave request

Dear experts,
There is no standard leave request form provided by SAP. We are developing an adobe form which lists the employee's quota and leaves taken earlier along with the current leave details. This form should be displayed to the approvers from the leave workflow.
When the approver clicks on the work item, the leave request form should popup. There are two technical challenges in this requirement -
1. This requirement is similar to the standard ones for travel request and expense request - In travel request and expense request, SAP has provided standard forms and the workflow container is a standard importing parameter in these adobe forms. This container is helpful in deriving most of the content on the adobe form. However, there is no such link in case of leave request. How does the workflow information be passed to the adobe form? ( i will have to display employee details, quota, current leave, approvers list, approvers comments, etc).
2. For leave request, the approval task is TS12300097 that has "Java Webdynpro" as visualization type. Whereas for travel and expense workflow approval tasks, the visualization type is "ABAP Webdynpro". I am assuming the "JAVA WD" will make it really tough to call the adobe form from the work item.
Any thoughts, suggestions on this requirement will be of great help.

I'm not that good at technical level, but still I try to help you with my limited knowledge.Instead of trying from binding rule, try with Function Module via BOR Object Method. you can get that function module at the time Adobe form creation. Can't you consider that Adobe form as a attachment in the work item???

Requirement on quotation creation -Adobe forms

I have created an Adobe form which works online and offline.This is adobe form for creation of quotation making.
But the problem is -its wrks perfect as offline meaning data is saved in pdf format.
Now in online case -it accepts all data to fields but doesnt create a quotation-gives an error of sold -to -party needed.

someone had similar issue....i don exactly rrm the solution but it is something to do with subforms....
currently it is disabled because your subforms are of type that doesn allow it.
so you may play with subform types by changing them n then adding a table in it. IT will definitely fix the problem but you need to work on subform type.

Hi Shabeer,
the first thing is that you are running on a very very low RAM.
For ECC 6.0 with dual stack SAP System to run you should have atleast 4 GB of RAM.
For your Dispatcher issue kindly check the status of your Oracle database and the connection from SAP To Database.
You can check the oracle status using brtools utility.

You may not get the complete standard form which will match this functionality. But you can develop your business logic in custom code for fetching the data and the interface and use the standard templates for layouts if any template matches your requirement. You can see the complete lest of templates in : "transaction SFP->Form->Layout->Tools->Template Manager

Adobe Form - SO Creation Offline scenario - Posting problem

We have created offline adobe form for Sales order creation using ABAP Workbench SFP.
After entering the Sales order details, this form is emailed to SAP to create SO and SO is created in SAP.
Our requirement is when user1 send this form to SAP, SO has to be created by SAP user1.
and when user2 send this form, SO has to be created by SAP User2.
For this we have maintained Inbound distribution list in SO28. but problem is not solved.

Plz explain step by step how to proceed and also how the form should be uploaded in case of OFFLINE forms.
I have created a Z table having all the required fields to create a SO.
Then i have created an interface in SFP having import parameter as type of Z table.
Then i have created the layout for the form having header data and item data.
Am i required to give any submit button,If so then wat is the functionality of it.
Please help me how to proceed further in creating and uploading the form.

Adobe forms for report creation.

Hello. I would like to use an web form in which the user submits research information, which the user can then download (or be emailed) the data in an organized report. In a sense, I would like to use Adobe Forms to make these reports consistent. How can I use Adobe forms for this? Is this possible?

I believe there must be a misunderstanding here. While Adobe delivers sample forms both in Adobe LiveCycle Designer (only the form) and for their own server products (the LiveCycle series), this has nothing to do with Interactive Forms in SAP software. Adobe contributes 2 key technology components to the joint solution, but the business logic continues to be shipped by SAP only. This means that Adobe neither ships standard forms for an SAP system nor BAPIs.
In mySAP ERP 2004, a couple of pilot processes built with Guided Procedures were shipped to selected customers. These processes dealt with the creation and changing of master data. These processes are not generally available.
Interactive Forms is included in several environments, i.e. Web Dynpro for Java, Web Dynpro for ABAP, ABAP Workbench (for printing), Guided Procedures, Internet Service Request (ERP), and Business Intelligence. In NetWeaver '04, you can only use Web Dynpro for Java and ABAP Workbench.
There is NO OUT-OF-THE-BOX SUPPORT for BSPs.
If you wish to use KM functions, it'll be up to you to develop them for your process. You will need to persist the generated PDF form (it doesn't happen by default), and there is no standard delivery that includes KM functions.
