Material PO text not copying to Purchase Requisition

Any assistance would be gratly appreciated...
When creating a Purchase Requisition (ME51N) text from the Material Master - Material PO Text automatically copies to the Material PO Text of the Purchase Requisition line item - as expected
However, when a Purchase Requisition is created via MRP, the Material PO Text is not copied from the material master to the PO.
In config, copy rule is set as follows for PRs:
Sequence   PR Text                     Source
01               Material PO Text       Material Master   Set to always adopt
We have a custom program to print PR data and the material PO text is not showing up when generated by MRP - because the PR itself does not have the text.  We could change the custome code to read directly from the material maste, but would prefer a standard solution to get the text onto the PR.
Thanks,

this is SAP design, for performance reasons the PO text is not copied to the requisition in MRP run.
SAP issued an OSS note about this .

  • How to configure Sales order item text copy to Purchase requisition item

    Hi,
How to configure sales order item text copy to Purchase requisition text then copy to PO item text.
    Regards
    Jack

    Hi Rajesha,
Thanks for your reply, some of the items in sales order are procured externally by us and our customer maintains text related to price and specification in the item details of the sales order, MRP creates planned order for these materials and these planned orders are always converted in pur requisition, we want that text from the sales order item details should be copied in to the purchase requisitions converted from planned orders.
is there any user exit which can be called at the time of saving a purchase req or user exit for converting planned order in to pur req.?
if there is any such exit available, then I think I can read the pegged requirement of the planned order where sales order item will be found then read the text in the item then copy this text in pur req then save pur req may work.
but this will be a bulky development, please let me know if we can shorten the development.
    Thanks again

  • Variant config - error Material ZZZ is not copied from the bill of material

    Hello guys,
I try to obtain a material configurable in a new plant.
I have more errors and I don't know exactly if the problems are in setting of the variant configuration, or if the problems are in customizing.
When I try to make a Sale Document (Standard Order VA01), the following error occurs:
Material ZZZ is not copied from the bill of material.
    Message no. V2003
    Diagnosis
When the bill of material was exploded, it was established that no sales document item could be created for material ZZZ.
    System Response
The system ignores the material during bill of material explosion.
    Procedure
Check if the BOM explosion can be used without material ZZ. If not, delete the main item which lead to the BOM explosion. You may be able to enter an item manually in which the material ZZZ in the BOM.
What do you think it might the solution for this challenge?
    Thanks in advance.

    hello, friend.
the issue you presented is very broad and requires some more info, such as:
    1.  what are the item category groups of the material and ZZZ?
    2.  did you check item category determination in your sales doc type?
    regards.

  • Quantity Copied in Purchase Order is not same as Purchase Requisition

    Dear All,
I have create a P.R with Quantity = 154.762,800 , but when this P.R was used to Create a Purchase Odrer but here the Quatity copied from P.R is 154.762 only , which is not as same as P.R , also during creation of P.O , I got a Warning Message as below  ( but i am able to save this P.O) :
Order quantity violates rounding rules (See long text)
    Message no. ME386
    Diagnosis
The rounding rule(s) marked with 'X' has/have been violated:
[_] Rounding via static rounding profile
[_] Rounding to order unit via dynamic rounding profile
[_] Rounding to logistics unit via dynamic rounding profile
[_] Minimum order quantity not reached
    [_] Maximum order quantity exceeded
    [_] Order quantity rounding value
    [_] Delivery unit
[X] Fixed number of decimal places specified
[X] Rest could remain because no variable order unit allowed
    System Response
    Rounding proposal: 154.762,000 ZAE (= 154.762,000 ST )
When you enter the order quantity for the first time, the system converts the quantity and order unit automatically in accordance with the rounding proposal.
If you change the order quantity, the system does not automatically adjust it.
    Example
The following dynamic rounding profile exists:
With an order quantity >= 150 pcs. the system rounds to two boxes
With an order quantity < 150 pcs. the system rounds to 1 box.
You order 160 pcs. The rounding proposal is as follows:
    2 Cases (= 160 pcs.)
When you enter the order quantity for the first time, the rounding proposal 2 BOX is adopted.
If you change the order quantity, the quantity entered remains unchanged. If you wish to adopt the rounding proposal, adjust the quantity accordingly.
Can ne one help me how to check n where to Check / Maintain so that the Quatity should be copied in P.O as saame as it is in P.R.
    Best Rgds,
    sap11

I think i have resolved the issue , here in trxn = cuni the decimal pl. rounding is to be maintain for that particular unit of measure.
    Steps
    1)Use Trxn -CUNI
2)Click on Tab -Unit of Measurement
3)Select the Unit which is to be used in Purchase Order
4)After selecting go to Details icon on top
5)In Conversion format enter the digits as per your need in Decimal Pl. rounding.
6)In my case it is maintained as Zero, due to this reason the digits after decimal are not copied from P.R to P.O , But if this  Decimal Pl. rounding is mainained as 3 then system will allow me to copy the digits upto three digits after decimal.

  • Material Master and CMIR Texts not copied after Client Copy

  • Material item text not appearing in PO Print Preview

    Hi experts,
We have created a new PO type .  We have assigned it with PO text via Spro>Purchasing>Purchase Order > Message > Text for messages > define text for purchase order
    Maintained text for document header
    Maintained  text for document item
But still in Purchase Order , the material PO text at item level , is not appearing at the time of print preview / print out.
    Please suggest .
    Regards,
    ( Rajneesh Gulati )

If I understand correctly, you want to copy the purchase order text from the material master directly into the PO's for this material.
I got the same problem; text appears in PO item text, but doesn't appear on print preview.
    => check your forms first
=> if you can't find an error here, check the copying control in
SPRO -> Materials Management -> Purchasing -> Purchase Order -> Texts for purchase orders -> Define copying rules for item texts
go to the text linkages of the text type that you want to see appearing
=> make sure that the entries with source object 'material master' have the Fix value (blank) rather than N or * (if you see the text appearing in the PO but not on the print out, this means that this setting is currently set on *)
    Hope this helps

  • Unlimited Indicator not copying to Purchase Order

    Hello experts,
I'm running ECC 6.0 and am unable to solve this.  I have subcontracting info-records for materials that specify a material to a vendor, pricing, tolerances, etc.
In the Purch. Org 1 screen of info-record view, I can see the tolerances are maintained (5% under and unlimited over-delivery for example).  The 5% under is copying when a purchase order is created for the material in question, but the unlimited over-delivery indicator is not copying.  If I clear out the indicator and maintain an actual over-delivery tolerance, it copies just fine.  Only the indicator is failing to copy from the info-record.
Any familiarity with how to solve this issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Kelby

    Hello Kelby,
Even if nothing is maintained in the material master plant(purchasing view) the unlimited tick should default from the PIR. PIR always has a higher priority than master as it is specific to material+vendor. The help for the 'unlimited' tick in the PIR mentions this.
You can have a look at this note. It is very old and probably not valid for your release. However this is the only note I could find. You should probably raise an OSS message.

  • Cost center not populated in Purchase requisition for a third party order

    Hello,
We are currently testing the Third party order flow which includes :
    1. Creation of a sales order with item category TAS
    2. A purchasing contract is maintained for a sales order item at the schedule line level.
(In the purchasing contract, account assignment is already maintained for each contract item, meaning a G/L Account and a cost center).
    3. Automatic creation of the Purchase requisition when the sales order is saved.
    >> The account assignment is not copied from the contract to the Purchase requisition. Do you know why and how I can do that ?
    Thanks
    Best regards
    Benjamin

    Hi Palani,
if i am not wrong This WBS in location or additional tabs are used for settlement purpose. For PR creation by maintenance Orders can have Order number as account assignment.
    Please reply
    Thanks

  • MRP Vendor is not available in purchase requisition

After running MD04 for particular material, purchase requisition is generated. But vendor is missing for that material.
    I have checked following settings:
    1. Source list
    2. Source list active for that material.
    3. Purchase info records.
All above settings are perfect for that material.
But still vendor is missed in purchase requisition generated in MRP.
Please let me know where am i going wrong?

As Ajit mentionned, the source list usage mus be set to 1.
    See note 206684
The 'Source list usage in materials planning and control' indicator must be
set to '1' or '2' ('2' if delivery schedules are meant to be generated).
